It was the second time he'd been erased from existence. It was no less painful that the first time. But something felt… off. Last time the pain only lasted a few seconds, and then he felt nothing. This time he felt cold. Like he was in the middle of a snowstorm. He shouldn't have been feeling anything right now, so why…?

His thoughts were interrupted when he felt something brush against his hand. It was loose, grainy. Was this… sand? He opened his eyes, and was surprised to see a wide purple sky, rather than the pitch black he was only capable of seeing last time. "What the…?" He looked around and saw that he was floating on a cloud of sand. In fact, there were clouds of sand all over the place… and clocks. What?

"Where am I?"

"It's okay, you're safe."

He quickly turned and saw none other than Mina sitting a few feet away from him. She was settled on a cloud of her own, feet swinging back and forth playfully. Wilbur had felt ashamed that he'd forgotten about her when he vanished. She had been at the base all alone when it had happened. She was probably scared senseless. Though she looked much calmer than he did right now.

"Mina, are you okay?" He asked sitting up.

She nodded. "I am." She said casually.

"Do you… do you have an idea where we are?" Wilbur asked looking around. "And have you seen my mother? I don't know why we're here, why we still exist, but she should be here too."

Mina shook her head. "No, she's been returned to her timeline. We only needed you."

Wilbur grew wide eyed. He turned towards her confused. "What… what are you talking about Mina? Whose we?" He asked standing up.

"I believe she's referring to me."

Wilbur looked up and saw another cloud hovering down towards them. On it, sat an old man with snow white hair… none of it on his actual head though. He was bald as Gru. His beard however had more than enough hair to make up for it. "And you are…?" Wilbur asked.

"That, is an excellent question." Wilbur narrowed his eyes at him. The old man chuckled. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just, I always like your catchphrase. My second favorite one. Right after 'Keep moving forward'." He said stroking his beard.

Wilbur scowled. "Look old man, it's not like I don't appreciate… being alive. But I'm seriously confused. How and why am I still here? Where is here? Who are you? Where is my mother?" He asked.

The old man sighed. He could understand why he was so on edge. All of this must have been confusing to the young man. "Alright, alright, I'll start by answering who I am. I have many names. Chronos. Aion. But you'd probably know me best as... 'Father Time'."

Wilbur looked at him for a few seconds in disbelief, and then scoffed. "Father Time? Like, the god who controls… time? You're kidding right? You can't expect me to believe that!"

The old man chuckled. "Believe me, I'm no god. I barely even qualify as an angel. Keeping the timeline straight is such a bland job. Unless things get deadly serious, I'm hardly allowed to interfere. I'm basically a glorified time keeper for the J-man."

"The J-man?"

"Oops, said too much. Anyhow, yeah, I control the timeline, and some heavy stuff has been going on. Things that could break the balance of the universe itself. So I've finally got the green light to step in and do something about it."

Wilbur sat down, still looking suspicious. This old man really did expect him to believe he was Father Time… then again, it would explain why he was still here, in this weird place. "Okay, so let's say I believe you're father time. Why am I here? And what's this threat you're talking about? The aliens?"

"The Armada is part of it, but there are other forces pulling the strings from the shadows that we're more worried about." He said. "I can't explain everything now, but just know that something needs to be done. Which is why I brought you here to the Time-Scape, Wilbur."

"The Time-Scape?"

"This is where I do my work. And by work I mean just watching and recording stuff. Every once in a while I give a little push here and there, but for the most part it's up to the wheels of fate." He explained. "As for why you're here… I need a champion."

Wilbur raised an eyebrow. "A champion? Why does the god of time need a champion?"

The old man pinched the bridge of his nose. "One, stop calling me a god. You're going to get me in trouble. Two, didn't you just hear what I said. There's a crises going on boy. Something that could threaten the very fabric of the universe. We need to start putting champions in place to deal with this."

Wilbur was slowly starting to put the pieces together. "And… and you chose me?"

Father Time snapped. "Bingo! Looks like you got some of those genius genes from your daddy after all Sherlock." He said. "Since I can't interfere directly in mortal affairs, then you're going to be my champion, making sure all threats to the timeline are dealt with."

Wilbur couldn't believe this. "You want me to be your champion?" He repeated.

"Duh. Why do you think you're still here? I thought about using your mother but… well, let's be honest. She isn't the spring chicken she used to be. And you have a knack for dealing with people. That's a good quality to have."

"So let me just get this straight. You're the… angel of time or whatever, and you're basically asking me to be your errand boy." Wilbur reasoned. "Why? Shouldn't you be able to flick your finger and handle crap like this? You control time!"

"What part of 'Cannot interfere with human affairs' do you not understand? I can't stick my hand in this. I need a human representative on earth."

"But why me?" Wilbur asked. "I know I get involved in time stuff a lot, but I don't think I'm right to be some kind of angel's champion. There must be like a million other people you could pick."

Father time laughed. "Why you ask? Why not? A champion needs to have certain qualities, and you've shown all of those, in spades. Your willingness to protect your friend and family, the way you were willing to sacrifice yourself for the greater good. The way you bring people together just by being yourself." He explained.

"Ever since your first trip back in time, I've had my eye on your Wilbur. I've had eyes on everyone who's had experience with time travel. But off all of them you were the one who proved the most worthy. And seeing your current actions through my daughter only confirmed that."

Wilbur turned towards Mina, who smiled and waved at him. "Wait, she's your daughter?! But we found her in my garage! She can't be-"

"You found her because I sent her there. I was a bit busy, so I had her come along with you and report to me. I heard all good things Wilbur. My daughter is very impressed with you. I daresay even smitten." He said smirking.

Mina blushed. "N-no I'm not!" She said shyly. "I just… he did a good job." She muttered. "I didn't think humans were even worth saving. But you… you're a good one. If there are others like you, maybe they are worth the effort."

Wilbur looked at her for a few seconds before smiling. "Well, thanks for the praise kiddo."

"You inspire people Wilbur. That, coupled with your experience with time travel made you an easy pick." He said patting him on the shoulder. "So what do you say my boy?"

Wilbur still looked conflicted. "I… I don't know. How does this work?"

"You'll be an anomaly in the timeline. Any changes made to it won't have any effect on you in the slightest. You'll be free to travel between your own time, and whatever time I have you posted in." He said. "You can even go by and visit a time period with a certain raven haired girl you might fancy."

Wilbur's eyes lit up. "I… I can see the others?!"

Father Time smiled. "Being a champion of time has its perks. So, you in?"

Wilbur smiled.

"Violet… Violet… Violet!"

The raven haired girl opened her eyes and groaned. "What…?" She asked annoyed. She stared up at Audrey who had her arms crossed. "Oh… did I fall asleep again?"

Anna who was leaning on the desk beside her giggled. "I get that Chinese wasn't your first choice, but you should at least try and stay away you know."

Violet sighed. What was she thinking trying to take Chinese in her first year of college? She should have picked… any other language honestly. It wasn't that she couldn't learn it, but she just didn't have an interest in it. What little interest she did have was only because of the Chinese gangs they dealt with from time to time. It came in handy when interrogating criminals.

Audrey rolled her eyes. "C'mon sleepy head. Let's grab some lunch before our next class." Vi smiled. Now that was something she could stay awake for. She got up and followed her friends out. As she walked behind them, she thought about how much things had changed.

It was a year ago that they'd lost Wilbur and Antonio. Their loses had hit everyone hard. She and Margo in particular had fallen into a depression. Thankfully their friends were there to help them cope. She wasn't sure how she could have made it without them.

The team was still the team, but it… it wasn't the same. Not without them. And now that she was in college, she had a much harder time balancing out hero work and her social life. Somehow she had still remained friends with Kari… but that was mostly because she worked with the NSA now. Who knew she had a knack for computers.

Everyone was still like family, but the hole left behind had never really healed. Every now and then, when they were laughing and joking around, she would turn to her side expecting to see him, only for there to be nothing. The others had noticed, but they never said anything. They didn't want to reopen old wounds.

She missed him. She'd always miss him. He was the one who brought them together. The one who formed their family. But… she also knew she had to move on. Whenever she thought about just giving up, his words repeated in her head. "Keep moving forward." He'd never forgive her if she just stopped.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she bumped into someone. She looked up and saw Anna just standing there. "Uh, Anna, what's up?" She asked. The girl didn't answer her.

"That… no way." She muttered.

Violet glanced over at Audrey. She looked just as stunned as Anna did. "Hello, earth to Audrey and Anna! What's wrong with you two?" She asked. Audrey turned back towards her, and then forward again. Her face had a mix of confusion and worry. What was she looking at? Violet stepped past them. "Seriously, what is up with…?"

She stopped and her jaw dropped. It couldn't be. It just… it couldn't be. How in the world was this happening? How could he be here, right in front of them? He was… he was supposed to be gone, erased from existence. So how was he…?

Wilbur waved towards them. "Hello ladies. Long time no see." He said smiling. It was just as cocky and cute as she remembered. "Surprised to see me?"

Anna and Audrey kept standing there, not sure if they were seeing was real. Violet stepped forward. She walked up to him and raised her hands. "Wilbur?" She asked. "I-Is that you?"

"In the flesh."

She reached up and grabbed his face. It was… it was real. She wasn't hallucinating, or dreaming. This was real. Wilbur Robinson was really standing in front of her. "I… how are you back? You're supposed to be…?"

He smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist. "C'mon Vi. Did you really think something petty like time itself would be able to keep me from seeing your pretty face again?"

Violet, despite the tears flowing down her cheeks, smiled. That… that was so cheesy. But it was definitely something he would say. "It really is you. No one else would have to guts to use such an awful line." She sobbed out. She hugged him. "I… I missed you so much."

"Missed you too Vi." He said. "But I'm back. And this time, I'm not going anywhere."

Mina watched the scene from her sand cloud and puffed her cheeks. "Oh, don't be jealous my dear. You and Wilbur would never have lasted. He'd a mere mortal after all."

She crossed her arms. "I'm not jealous…" She said.

He chuckled and then looked down at the shifting sands at his feet. "Well, now we've set the first piece in motion. The others should soon follow." He said looking down towards two other sand clouds. They each showed an item. The first being a wooden crook, and the second being a red bow. "Let's hope they have what it takes to overcome the darkness…"

A/N: There it is, the final chapter.

I just want to thank everyone to all their support and gratitude for the story. When I first started this, it hadn't really taken off as well as I'd hoped. But I decided to keep with it, and you guys joined in and stuck along for the ride. I always write stories because I want too, but having support is always encouraging.

Like I said last chapter, this will not be the last of Wilbur's adventures. He will return in a later story. I've decided the next story will be about HTTYD, so look forward to that coming soon.

Again, thanks for all the support!

Remember to Read and review guys!
