Hello! Azu here with a new chapter! Finally! In a week or so I'll be out on break so I'll take time to try and update more during the week, who knows? Maybe you'll get double updates -wink wink-
And I hope some of you get the reference I squeezed in there. Oh well, carry on!
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or its characters.
Sakura wasn't used to crying. Or seeing Sasuke panic, but there she was, stifling a sob and watching the Uchiha's eyes widen in fear, while Naruto shook her shoulders, dramatically asking what was wrong.
Why? Why of all days, had she gotten in trouble with Karin, yelled at Deidara, and was now-oh god, no.
She felt warm tears drip down her cheeks, her lower lip trembling as her hands gripped her trousers, damn it, not in front of them!
"Ah—It's nothing.. you know.. the usual." It certainly didn't have to do with the fact that, today was a year since her father's passing, her birthday, and she would spend it alone, eating tuna and watching Netflix, because Naruto and Sasuke had practice, and Deidara certainly wasn't going to talk to her after her little fit back there.
"E-Eh, Sakura. Calm down, don't be a crybaby", certain raven haired male muttered, patting her head awkwardly, for fuck's sake, why couldn't she calm down?!
"I'm fine, I—", she wiped her face with the sleeve of her, still dirtied, sweatshirt, flashing them the "Sakura Haruno trademark grin", a crooked smile, which made the corners of her eyes wrinkle, giving her an adorable look, well, normally. In that moment, she had puffy eyes, her nose was bright red, and soft sniffles came from her.
Ok, he would not tolerate this anymore. He couldn't have Sakura crying, for two reasons mostly;
1) She looked ugly and messy
2) Even if he'd deny it, it hurt something within him when he saw her cry. It was, well, painful.
So, he shoved the blonde haired idiot- who, with his kind words, was making Sakura cry more -back and picked the petite and crying 17 year old up, draping her on his shoulder. For the very first time, he didn't care about, whatever substance Sakura was covered in, staining his clothes, or the way students and teachers alike openly stared at him. They could go fuck a donkey for all he cared.
And so, with a wordless nod to Naruto, Sasuke headed towards his black matte Camaro, with leather interior and seat warmers, it was a Christmas present, and, after opening the door, of course, he dumped Sakura on the passenger seat, "Oi, crybaby, shut up. OK? You look very ugly when you cry, plus, it's annoying", was all he said before he closed her door, and quickly headed to his seat.
Wow, he was great with words, so kind and warm. That's why he was the most popular guy in school, because of his charming personality and exceptional social skills!
Of course, just because he knew those words would make her calm down a bit, didn't mean he didn't feel an ever so slight feeling of guilt. He knew those words hit home, but that wasn't Sakura, she, even being the small nerd she was, was strong, and didn't let words get to her. And so, a soft smile ghosted over his lips when he began driving, her sniffles fading little by little, until they finally disappeared.
"Ma, Sasuke-kun.. Where are you taking me", she finally spoke, Sasuke, even if he didn't really admit it, he secretly thanked her, because the silence was becoming unbearable. "We're going to celebrate your birthday. You haven't done that in two whole years, right?" he ignored the way Sakura's huge eyes seemed to be nearly popping from her sockets when she heard this.
Sasuke Uchiha, was being nice?
She pinched herself, jumping lightly, "Uh… So I'm not dreaming..." came a light laugh from the pinkette, before she leaned back, closing her eyes.
But that didn't last long, "Well, I hope wherever the fuck we're going there's a shower, because this coffee is getting very, very, sticky", she muttered softly, moving awkwardly so her clothes didn't stick in, uh, uncomfortable, places.
Naruto stared confusedly at "Momma S'ke" carrying Sakura, sure he himself had panicked, but just because he didn't want Sakura-chan to be sad on her birthday, after all, he had gotten the booze!
"Byeee Sakura-chaaan!", he called out, wincing when Sakura gave a very gross sounding sniff as a response, "I-I'll met up with y—", oh, they were gone. Ok.
But his soul left him the moment he turned around and saw a huge guy, with pale-blueish skin, and, oh god were his teeth sharpene—A sharkman, "SOMEONE! HELP",he began crying out, looking around for anyone to save him, "PLEASE, THERE'S A SHARKMAN THAT'S GONNA EAT ME!", the idiotic blonde cried out, nearly in tears. "I know my name is a fish, but, aren't fish friends and not foo—", a loud smack, and he was face first on the ground.
Deidara stared at him with an arched brow, sure, Iwa was Sakura's friend, but that didn't mean he was the Uchiha's or Uzumaki's "guy pal". No. Truthfully, he could stand Uzumaki, he was less annoying than Tobi, anyways, but Sasuke, oh boy did he get on his nerves!
He was even more annoying than his fucking older brother, Itachi Uchiha. The bastard was so slick, it irritated him, even more so when Itachi treated him like a child just because the Uchiha was already in college. Fuck him.
"Uzumaki, Kisame, Kisame, Uzumaki", Deidara is in an ever so slight annoyed tone, no it wasn't because he just saw Sakura be carried by the Uchiha asshole, it was.. It had been a long day, alright?!
"Naruto! I need you to tell me where Sasuke took Sakura, I might've fucked up and made her mad an—" a tilt of a head, "Oh? Sakura-chan? Sasuke-teme took her to his house, that where her birthday party is going to be… Didn't he invite you? I told him to invite you… Oh! So did you talk to the blue haired colle—", Deidara zoned him out, party? Birthday? Why hadn't Sakura told him anything? Were they not friends? "- Yeah, it's the first time in two years she celebrates it because of her father's illness, and then he died on her birthday –", surely they were frie—Oh my god, Sakura's father died on her birthday?
He looked up at Kisame, his cristal blue eyes widened, just like Deidara's, holy fuck, how did he not know? She had told him- Uhg! Who goes to Cabo in the middle of the school year?
Yeah, Deidara was that dense. Great, not he felt extremely bad for her, he just wanted to hug her and tell her he was there for her, wait hold up.
Why didn't Sakura tell him? Now he'd have to scared it from Naruto, and, even if it was incredibly easy, it'd be a pain.
"Kisame, can I borrow you phone?", he asked with a reluctant sigh, holding his hand out, "Alright, blondie, but make it quick, ok?", the sharkman muttered in annoyance.
Deidara began dialing.
Ring
Ring
Ring
"…Hello?", came a painfully bored voice.
"Yeah, Sasori-danna, can you come by the parking lot? I need a favour".
Deidara wouldn't deny he loved the horrified face Naruto made the moment he said Sasori's name.
