Point Place…

After one of his lunch dates with Jackie, W.B. decided it was time to talk to Steven. He wasn't completely confident that this would go well but it had to be done. He parked his car outside of Groove's and walked inside. No one was at the register, when he walked into the office, he found Steven and Leo getting high. Livid. That's the only word he could use to describe how he felt at this moment.

"Hey man!" Leo greeted.

"Leo, do you mind if I talk to my son in private?" W.B. replied.

"Nah man go ahead, I'll just be over here." Leo said as he went to sit on the couch. W.B shook his head and asked Leo to leave the office and go watch the register. As Leo walked out W.B looked at Steven.

"You know," started W.B., "I was starting to have some concerns about you but someone said I should give you another chance. I listened to her because she knew you better than I do, but I'm starting to think that maybe she doesn't know you anymore and is going off of an idea of who you used to be."

Steven lowered his head and ran his hands through his hair. "Who did you talk with?" he asked his father.

"Jackie." Replied W.B.

"Jackie? She defended me?" asked Steven.

"Yes, and not for the first time I might add. When I first met you, I thought you contacted me to get some money. Jackie quickly shut that idea down, telling me how good of a person you were and that I'd be lucky to have you in my life." W.B. sighed. "Even after everything you did to her, she still defends you and I can't for the life of me see why. I'll have to make some decisions regarding the store. I'll let you know what's going to happen." With that W.B. left and Steven was now unsure about his future.

A week passed by before W.B. spoke with Steven about some new rules that would need to be followed at the store. First, and most importantly according to W.B., he wasn't allowed to hold circles inside the store anymore. Hyde wasn't sure how to feel about this but he brought it upon himself. He now had to have weekly meetings with one of the accountants from the head office so they could go over his books and see if they needed improving. Also, not something he was looking forward to. He had a basic understanding of how to do the books but Jackie had been doing them for him when they were together and when he did the numbers it never quite balanced out. W.B. said there would be no more of that. Hyde was basically on probation until he could prove to W.B. that he could not only do the job but take it seriously as well.

One thing Hyde was feeling better about was no more Sam. After she left, he felt lighter. Now, he had to figure out how to get Jackie back. She made his life better and he wasn't sure why he hadn't seen it before. He felt like an idiot for the way he treated her and hoped that she could forgive him. Again. He knew he didn't deserve it but he hoped for it. Maybe seeing how much better he's doing at work will influence her forgiveness. He could only hope.
