Sakura twirled the ring on her finger. The ruby shone in streaks of rising light, creating red lines in the living room.
Saturday morning promised to be a quiet one. It would not be until the afternoon that Sarada would return home, and Sasuke was still asleep.
Sakura had moments to herself. She brewed coffee, sitting down at the table. Singing of birds from outside reminded her why she missed Konoha.
The ring still caught her attention. She couldn't get enough of Sasuke's masterpiece.
Jewelry looked as if its place had always been on Sakura's finger.
Finishing her coffee, she did the dishes and set about preparing breakfast.
"Hi." unexpectedly, Sasuke put his arms around Sakura's waist.
She didn't even hear when he entered the kitchen.
"How did you sleep?"
He leaned his head against her shoulder, not letting go but hugging her tighter.
"Good." he murmured,
"What are you making?"
"Scrambled eggs with tomatoes."
"Hn..." she felt Sasuke's lips form into a smile
"Can I stand here for a while?"
"Oh, that wouldn't be a problem, but tomatoes won't cut themselves." she laughed as Sasuke burped.
Sasuke kissed Sakura's neck and she kissed his cheek, then they got to work together. Glow from the ring bounced all over the kitchen.
