Authors note: I own nothing...just having fun...
Donna had been trying to get a hold of Jackie but was unsuccessful. She'd call to Kelso's apartment and Brooke would tell her he was unavailable, but she could clearly hear Kelso's not so low voice telling her to say that. She attempted to talk to Brooke about it, but she'd also say she was busy and unable to talk. Maybe she was busy, she had a job and was raising a baby. Donna had to keep telling herself that in hopes that she hadn't alienated herself from her childhood friends. She even approached Fez. He was no help whatsoever. He'd talk about new hair products, candy and some of his customers, but he'd absolutely refuse to talk about Kelso or Jackie.
Fez knew what Donna was doing. He refused to give in to her. She was not a good friend to his Goddess or to Kelso. She never asked about Betsey, you'd think you'd ask about your childhood friends' kid at least once. It showed him what she truly cared about. Herself. So, he'd be polite and make small talk, never giving away any information about his actual friends. He'd keep tabs on her just in case. He wouldn't let her hurt Jackie in any way. Not anymore.
Weeks went by and Donna and Hyde hadn't heard from Kelso, Donna wasn't able to reach Jackie, and Fez was still not giving them any information. They knew where they all lived because Kelso had given them their address before he cut off communication. Maybe it was time for something a bit drastic that either of them we're not fully prepared for. Hyde and Donna decided to visit Jackie at her new apartment. Hopefully she'd let them apologize in person. They thought it'd be best if she didn't know they were coming. They pulled up to one of the fanciest buildings either of them had ever laid eyes on. They approached the entrance and were stopped by a doorman.
"Who are you here for?" asked the doorman. Hyde and Donna looked at each other, both of them starting to get nervous.
"Jackie Burkhart" replied Hyde.
"Is Miss Burkhart expecting you?" asked the doorman.
"No, we are her friends, we wanted to surprise her" replied Donna.
The doorman watched them for what seemed like minutes but surely couldn't have been more than seconds, "One moment" he said. He went to a phone that was nearby, "Yes ma'am, there are some guests here for Miss Burkhart, they say they are her friends." Someone on the other end responded "Very well ma'am, I'll send them up." The doorman approached them again, "Miss Burkhart will see you. She's on the twelfth floor. "
Hyde and Donna took the elevator to the 12th floor.
"The doorman didn't mention an apartment number, how will we know which is hers?" asked Donna.
"Maybe they'll be a sign" replied Hyde.
"Do you think she'll be OK with us showing up?" asked Donna.
"I don't know. I doubt it, but Jackie isn't the type to throw people out either so we have that going for us." replied Hyde.
Donna nodded recalling all the times her midget friend forgave her. The elevator stopped and the doors opened, there was a hallway and one door. No other apartments, just Jackie's.
"How big is this apartment if it takes up an entire floor?" questioned Donna.
Hyde started to grow more nervous. Jackie was obviously thriving without them in her life. Would she even want them to be a part of her life again? He swallowed hard and knocked on the door, bracing himself for whatever wrath Jackie would bring.
