I wrote most of this chapter like a year ago and I ended up revising and finishing recently. As I was looking it over, I saw that Mr. Baker's name is John and I was like why would I put his name as John when Clark's dad's name is Johnathan. I looked it up to make sure and there it was, his name is John Baker so hence the name. I couldn't find one for Mrs. Baker, so I chose Sarah. Stay safe.

Smallville Kansas, Baker Household, Next Morning
Alicia woke up that morning with a smile on her face looking forward to the date with Clark. She quickly got ready for the day and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. On the way down the stairs to the kitchen she could hear her dad saying, "I still think she's a little too young to be dating. She has a very bright future and will probably be top of her class and I know what boys that age want from a beautiful girl like Alicia." Alicia had a light blush at hearing that and thought back to her night with Clark, but quickly put on a stoic face and walked into the kitchen. Her parents both quickly stopped talking and smiled towards her as she approached. Her father, John, gave her a smile and greeted, "Morning princess, sleep well?" Alicia leaned over to her father to give him a hug and answered back, "Yeah dad it was great."
Alicia started fixing herself a plate and saw her parents still looking at her but chose to pretend she didn't notice. Her mother, Sarah, decided to just come out with the question that was on both parent's minds and ask, "So your father and I noticed you seem to be hanging out with the Kent's boy quite a bit. Is this something serious going on and not just a casual friendship." Alicia rolled her eyes before replying, "Yes we are dating as the multiple dates we have gone on have shown but plenty of people date in high school mom, so you guys don't need to worry about us." Both John and Sarah shared a look with each other before John said, "honey you know your mother and I trust you very much but there is only one thing on the minds of boys that age and its sex. We just don't want you to end up feeling something special for your relationship and the boy not reciprocating it and hurting you. I think well of the Kent boy, and I know you're growing up but remember you're different from these other kids. I just don't want him to learn of your secret and he can't keep quiet. Next thing you know I'll be fighting the government to keep you from becoming their next science project." Sarah nodded along and added toward the end, "You remember my cousin Maddison well she was in a relationship with a guy in high school who used her and when they found out she was pregnant the father left." Sarah placed a hand on Alicia's and softly said, "Sex is a very big responsibility, and we just don't want you rushing into anything." Alicia held her mother's hand and with a guilty conscience replied, "Mom I understand your concerns, but sex is the furthest thing from me and Clark's mind." Alicia looked to her dad with a slight smile and said, "Trust me dad, something tells me that even if Clark learned about my secret, it would be in safe hands, but for you I promise I won't tell him." Alicia's smile faltered for a second as she thought 'Because I already showed him my secret.' Everyone dropped the topic and continued with their breakfast. As Alicia was about to head out to head to school Sarah said, "You should invite the Kent boy over for dinner one of these days so we could have a chance to properly meet him."

Smallville Kansas, Smallville High School
Clark entered the history class and saw Alicia scribbling in her notebook looking between it and the textbook. Clark took the open seat next to her and leaned over to see what she was writing. Clark noticed Alicia was already ahead in the next chapter and commented, "Anything interesting in the next chapter's lesson?" Alicia finally noticed Clark was next to her and gave him a smile as well as a light knock on the shoulder as she said, "It never hurts to be prepared, last thing I want is to be caught by surprise." Clark scratched the back of his head as he reasoned, "Yeah, but sometimes the surprise is what I live for."
At this moment the bell sounded, and Ms. Conn stood from her desk and walked towards the chalkboard. Ms. Conn grabbed a broken piece of chalk and began writing "project groups" before announcing, "Okay everyone, I asked you all to make your groups, so for those who picked a partner we will put you on the board. Alicia let's start with you. Who will be your partner?" Alicia looked to Ms. Conn and answered, "Clark and I will be partners for this." Ms. Conn raised an eyebrow but didn't question it further. Ms. Conn completed the rest of the students who had partners before assigning those who didn't have partners together. Ms. Conn pulled out a piece of paper and began writing down all the groups from the board on it as she said, "You all have one week to decide on the topic you want to pursue and again if no topic is picked then I will assign you one as I see fit." Ms. Conn finished the list and placed it inside a manila folder before grabbing the textbook and opening it. Ms. Conn looked towards Alicia and asked her, "Ms. Baker, would you mind telling us where we last left off?" Alicia advised Ms. Conn on the page the class last visited and let Ms. Conn begin her lesson for the day.
As the bell rang to dismiss the class Ms. Conn advised, "Alright class you're dismissed and no homework tonight, so I would get with your partner and think of what topic you will be choosing. Ms. Baker if you wouldn't mind staying for a second." Alicia gave a nod towards Ms. Conn and told Clark, "I'll catch up to you at your locker when I'm done here." Clark gave a thumbs up and headed out the classroom. Alicia made her way up to Ms. Conn's desk and asked, "You Asked for me Ms. Conn?" Ms. Conn placed a stack of papers on her desk before looking towards Alicia and saying, "Thank you for staying. I was nearly curious about your choice of partner for this project. While Clark is not a bad student his attendance leaves much to be desired. I don't believe Clark to be the type of student to make you do all the work. I just worry you may plan to work together, and he doesn't show." Alicia gave a chuckle before saying, "I think we'll be fine, and Clark is one of the few students at school I could actually work well with." Ms. Conn decided that Alicia clearly had her reasons in her choice of partner so she would let it be.

Smallville Kansas, Smallville High School, Courtyard Bench
Clark and Alicia made their way to the bench outside the entrance of the school as students began heading to different directions for lunch. Alicia removed her thermos from her bag and began to open it. Clark pulled out a turkey sandwich and began eating when he heard Alicia whisper, "Oh it's cold." Clark looked over Alicia's shoulder and saw inside the thermos was what seemed to be a soup. Clark quickly shot his heat vision at the soup until it was a little warmer than lukewarm. Alicia watched in amazement before exclaiming, "And now it's perfectly warm." Alicia turned from the soup to Clark and asked, "How many different abilities do you have, all I got was teleportation." Clark looked her in the eyes and replied, "Even I don't really know. Like I know I have a super body which means I have super strength and super speed, but it also seems to increase my hearing. It even allows my eyes X-Ray vision somehow." Alicia smiled before saying, "I almost feel like I should cover myself with my hand in case you try to take a peek, but I know you're not the type of person to abuse your powers like that. Plus, I think at this point it's pretty much useless since you've already seen me naked." Clark blushed remembering the night they shared and began eating his sandwich. Alicia chuckled at Clark's shyness before asking, "So how do your parents feel about your powers?" Clark finished chewing before he answered, "Well they're pretty supportive of me, but they still make sure to keep me grounded so that I'm careful with others around me." Alicia nodded her head and added, "My parents are pretty indifferent to my ability to teleport; they just don't want me getting lazy and using it to go everywhere. Plus, the fear that if the government finds out they will take me to be some lab rat to be experimented on." Clark placed his arm around her shoulder while they both finished their food.
As Clark finished eating, he pulled out his textbook and began going over the different topics they could pick for their project. Clark began going through the different topics he spotted from skimming through, when he felt Alicia's head slump against his shoulder. As Clark looked down he noticed Alicia had fallen asleep and couldn't help but look at her sleeping face. There was a beauty to it that Clark couldn't describe that just mesmerized him. Clark and Alicia stayed like until the bell rang signaling that lunch was over and they needed to head back to class. Alicia hadn't woken up from the bell and as much as Clark didn't want to wake her he decided it would be for the best since he knew Alicia wouldn't want to be late for class.
Clark moved his hand up and brushed Alicia's cheek with his thumb while lightly saying, "Alicia, the bell rang, we have to go to class." Alicia gave a grunt of understanding but still didn't move before grumbling, "This is the most at peace I've been in probably years and it's getting disrupted for calc. I never would have thought I would hate calc as much as I do at this very moment." Clark looked to the sky before saying, "Well I mean I can always carry you like a queen out of here and we could ditch school for the rest of the day, but we would definitely get in trouble with both our parents." Alicia opened her eyes and began stretching. Alicia and Clark began getting up from the bench as Alicia said, "No, let's head to class. I don't want my parents to have a bad impression of you and vice versa with yours and me. Speaking of parents, would you like to come over for dinner Friday since my parents want to meet you as they only know you as the Kent boy?" Clark looked a little shook and hesitantly answered, "Sure, I just hope they like me." Alicia squeezed his hand as they got up and replied, "Clark I'm sure they'll love you."

Smallville Kansas, Kent Household, Later That Evening, Dinner Table
Martha was setting the table as Clark and Jonathan cleaned up from working on the farm earlier. As they all sat in their seats Clark said, "So I received an invite to have dinner with the Bakers Friday night." Martha turned to look at Clark with an eyebrow raised and asked, "And how did this come about." Clark swallowed the meatloaf he had in his mouth and answered, "Alicia told me her parents wanted to meet me and thought having me over for dinner would be a good way to get to know me." Jonathan put his fork down and placed his hand on Clark's shoulder before saying "Well you're going to want to make a good first impression, so just make sure to dress appropriately and just be yourself. You're a fine young man Clark, and I'm sure they will see that as well." Martha quickly added, "Your father is right, just be yourself and they won't be able to find anything to hold against you. You should also invite Alicia over for dinner Saturday so that we can properly meet her as well." Martha turned to Jonathan and reminded him, "Remember you have your doctor's appointment on Thursday afternoon to see the cardiologist. Clark and I will make sure to be there when you're done." Jonathan gave a long smile to both Clark and Martha as he said, "Thank you both for your support, I appreciate it. Now let's eat.
Clark gave a nod and said, "Anytime dad, and I'll ask Alicia tomorrow to see if she would like to come over for Saturday."

Smallville Kansas, Baker Household, Friday Night
Alicia opened her front door after hearing the doorbell and was greeted by the sight of Clark in his patented plaid shirt holding a bouquet of flowers. Alicia motioned for him to come inside as she planted a quick kiss on his cheek before whispering, "I'm glad you could make it. I was worried when I heard about the incident going on at the hospital." Clark let a breath out as he whispered back, "Yeah it's been a hell of a couple of days." Alicia gave him a quick hug before saying, "I'm glad everything worked out. I'll come over to you tonight when my parents are asleep so I can hear about everything that happened." Clark gave a quick nod as they entered the kitchen and Clark came face to face with Mr. and Mrs. Baker. Clark gave a hug to Mrs. Baker before holding his hand out to shake Mr. Baker's hand. Mr. Baker shook Clark's hand before gesturing to the table and saying, "I'm glad you were able to join us for dinner tonight. My wife and I have been looking forward to meeting properly. Alicia hasn't been able to talk about anyone else since you two went on that first date."
They all made their way to the dining room table where they all took their seats with Clark pulling Alicia's seat out for her and pushing it in as she began to sit. Clark took the seat next to Alicia which was opposite Mr. Baker. Mr. Baker led the family in grace before Mrs. Baker began serving a tray of lasagna to everyone and placed a bowl of pasta salad for everyone to grab from when wanted.
Mr. Baker asked Clark about a multitude of topics throughout dinner, but nothing felt more awkward to Clark than the final topic of the meal. Clark couldn't help but stammer a jumbled response as Mr. Baker asked, "So what exactly are your intentions with our daughter. You seem like a nice young man however I was that age at one time, and I know what's on your mind. I know my daughter well enough to know I raised her right and that she is solely focused on her studies and not on boys and sex. Clark, if that's what you're after I'm sure there are plenty of other girls at school that are of that same mindset and would be enamored to be with a football player." Clark obviously couldn't tell Mr. Baker of his and Alicia's night after their first date but it wasn't his intention for it to happen. Clark Looked Mr. Baker directly in the eye as he responded, "I understand your concerns about what my intentions are to Alicia and whether or not I'm serious about our relationship. Mr. Baker, Alicia and I have only been dating for a couple of weeks, but I already feel closer to her than probably anyone else in this city, almost as if she knows the real me when nobody else can. There is something about Alicia that just feels right, I don't know this relationship will go because in the end we are only in high school and maybe we're meant to have separate paths in life, but we won't know until then." Mr. Baker gave a look to Alicia and saw she had a smile on her face that just said, 'I agree' and knew there was nothing he could do to stop their relationship from going further. Mr. Baker looked back to Clark and cleared his throat before saying, "Well if it had to be someone, I'm glad she chose a nice young man, but remember you break her heart and it doesn't matter if you're the Kent's boy, I'll shoot you myself." Alicia rolled her eyes at the statement and grumbled, "Dad, stop that. Clark, don't worry, he's not serious." Mrs. Baker decided to move the conversation along by standing up and saying, "Alright who's ready for dessert, I made some dirt cake."

Smallville Kansas, Kent Household, Clark's Room, Midnight
Clark was lying in his bed when he felt a weight press onto his bed and felt someone's arms wrap around his chest. Clark turned over to see Alicia in a black spaghetti strap tank top and gray sweatpants. Alicia draped herself over Clark saying, "You look drained, everything go well with your dad?" Clark gave a dark chuckle as he answered, "Other than finding out my dad needed open heart surgery and when he gets the surgery a suicide bomber decides today is the day. Not to mention a trigger-happy Sheriff Adams that wanted to kill him so badly that it didn't matter who else got hurt through the process. It's basically a miracle I was able to get the bomb out of the hospital without anyone else or myself getting hurt." Alicia couldn't imagine what Clark had been through during these last couple of days and just laid there and let Clark vent as she knew he needed to. Alicia continued to rub small circles on his chest as she thought, 'Clark really went through all that and still made sure to come to dinner with my family.' Alicia moved her arms to hug his torso and Clark leaned his head over hers to kiss her forehead before saying, "We're probably going to have to reschedule dinner with my parents since my dad doesn't come back home until tomorrow and my mom is staying with him at the hospital tonight." Alicia gave a coy smile as she said, "That's okay Clark I'll be happy to reschedule to whenever works best. The real question is what your parents would think about you inviting a girl over when they're not home." Clark gave a smirk back before answering "I think they would be okay with it; they know I'm a good kid and trust me to make the right decisions." Alicia gave a giggle at Clark's answer and said, "Well I'm pretty comfy right here so I might as well sleep over here, and I'll just teleport back to my room before my parents wake up."
Both Clark and Alicia soon fell asleep enjoying each other's embrace.
