Friday, September 6, 2014

It had been two weeks since the members of the Newspaper Club made it back to Yokai Academy just before the start of the Fall term. Things were back to normal, more or less. Tsukune and his female friends had finally caught up on their lessons, which by no means was a simple task, whatsoever.

The only thing that was not back to "normal" was the close friendship between Tsukune and the real Moka. They barely spoke to each other since he had learned the awful truth of who Outer Moka really was. He had taken her "death" the hardest, even though he wore a plastic smile on his face, everyone else knew better.

As he ate his lunch in comfortable silence along with Kurumu, Mizore, and Yukari – he reminisced about all the good memories he had made with Outer Moka, and that thought alone, literally broke his heart in two. Moka was nowhere to be found since she had decided to eat her lunch alone everyday since their return.

Kurumu and Mizore did everything they could to help him get over Omote's disappearance, but time and time again, he flat-out rejected their aid. They meant well in their own unique ways of course, but he was not in the mood to be "comforted" by the snow faerie or succubus.

Yukari knew best to leave him be and kept her own opinions to herself, at least. Even though she was by far the youngest of their close-knit group, she was the most mature out of the three, it would seem.

Tsukune's sour mood was brought to an abrupt halt as he heard an unexpected announcement by Ruby, which came over the cafeteria's public access, speaker, system.

"May I have your attention please... second year student Tsukune Aono please report the Headmaster's office immediately. Once again, Tsukune Aono, please report the Headmaster's office at this time. Thank you."

Tsukune sighed as he stared at his half-eaten lunch and stood up from his seat.

"Tsukune? What's going on? Why did Ruby call you the Headmaster's office?" Kurumu asked in a concerned tone.

Mizore herself was unsure of what to say at the sudden broadcast, which the entire school's populace had heard.

Despite the snow maiden's quiet nature, she was just as worried about him as everyone else was, naturally. She just offered him a reassuring smile and silently told him that it would somehow, be fine, whatever it happened to be.

"I don't know, Kurumu," he said, with a blank look across his face.

"Would you like for us to come with you, Tsukune?" Yukari asked as she quickly stood up as well.

"Um... I'll be fine, but thanks for asking. I'll see you girls later, okay?" he said with a small smile.

"Um, okay Tsukune. Hang in there, alright? I'm sure it's nothing serious" Yukari added as he then picked up his tray, trudged away, and dumped the remainder of his lunch in the nearest trash bin.

Five minutes later, Tsukune arrived at the Headmaster's office and quietly knocked on the old, wooden door in front of him. A brief, moment later Ruby pushed it open and greeted him with a bright smile.

"Hello, Tsukune," she said as he stepped inside as she closed the door after him.

"Oh, hey Ruby."

"I'm really sorry for calling you here so suddenly, Tsukune. So much has happened lately and the Headmaster just wanted to have a chat with you. It's nothing to worry about though, I'm sure," she said as she twiddled her thumbs together as she quickly glanced at the floor.

"It's fine Ruby. I really wasn't hungry, anyway," he said with a dismissive wave of his left hand.

"Okay... um... you can go in now, if you'd like. He's expecting you," she said as she led him over to Mikogami's office. The double-wide doors were wide open, so he walked inside with Ruby on his right-hand side.

"Thanks again, Ruby," he said as he stood in the doorway for a moment.

"Oh, it's not a problem," she said as she stayed firmly glued in place.

"Hello there, Mister Aono. Please, come in and make yourself comfortable. Ruby, that will be all for now, so please close the doors on your way out," Headmaster Mikogami said as his eyes glowed a bright yellow.

Ruby did as asked by her boss, per his request. Before she returned to her own desk, she offered another smile to Tsukune.

Per his daily attire, the chairman of Yokai Academy was dressed in his white, priest's robes. The hood of the gold-trimmed garment was over his head, which hid the majority of his face in its shadow.

"Hello sir. I got here as soon as I could," Tsukune said as he took the black, leather chair which sat in front of Mikogami's large, wooden, desk.

"Now now, son. No need to be so formal. After all you've done for this Academy and what it stands for, you should relax more. I just simply wished to have a short chat with you, that's all," Mikogami said with a smile.

"Um, thank you... so what did you want to ask me?" Tsukune said as he got to the point without any small talk.

"You're quite welcome, Mister Aono. So – how is the new Rosary I made for you holding up so far? Any side-effects of any sort?"

Tsukune lifted up his right arm and examined the silver Rosary with his left hand. The enchanted limiter was attached to a small, matching chain that was wrapped around his right wrist.

His new Rosary was roughly one-third the size of Moka's original seal. The only difference besides the variation in size was the amber-colored, round, gem in the center as well as the arcane runes that were etched in the actual cross itself.

Those ancient markings contained the sealing spell as well as the spell that disguised his vampire self. He looked the same as always with dark, brown hair and matching eyes, while his youkai was held back. Despite its diminutive size, it did the job it was designed to do.

"It works fine, thank you. And no... no side effects that I can think of," Tsukune said with a sigh. He let go of his Rosary and then folded both of his hands on is lap.

"I see. Good. That's good to hear," Mikogami said as he leaned back in his black, leather, chair, and let out a sigh as well.

"Is there anything else, sir?" Tsukune inquired with an arched eyebrow.

"Actually there is. Why have you and Miss Akashiya been avoiding each other lately? After all that's happened, I'm rather surprised that you hadn't gotten closer to one another."

"I haven't been – ignoring her. It's just – that well – it's kinda complicated, I guess," the male vampire said with an exasperated sigh as he slumped his shoulders.

"Mister Aono, I know that things have been hard for you lately, but you must understand this; the "outer" Moka you knew so well wasn't who you thought she was. No matter how difficult it is for you to accept that, the "inner" Moka you know is the real Moka. It was even harder for Miss Akashiya to learn the harsh truth, herself. Believe me when I tell you this, but it came as a surprise to me as well. I had no idea that Akasha could make a clone of herself, truth be told."

Tsukune held his emotions in and knew it would not look good if he lost his composure in front of the Headmaster. Besides, he needed to get to his next class since the bell had already rung, which indicated the end of the lunch period.

"I guess you're right – um – is it okay if I head back to class now?" Tsukune said as he pulled himself to his feet.

"Oh yes, sorry about that Mister Aono. Ruby can give you a tardy slip. And don't forget about the dance in the gymnasium tonight. I expect you to get dressed up and be there tonight at nine sharp. That will be all, Mister Aono."

"Um, thank you sir. I'll do my best but I can't make any promises about tonight, though."

That evening 9 PM, Yokai Academy gymnasium. The school dance.

As Tsukune walked into the gymnasium in his navy blue suit, matching tie, white dress shirt, and shiny, black shoes, he was astonished how nicely-decorated the vast room actually looked.

Since the idea of the dance was Ruby's, he smiled as he saw that she had gone all out. The raven-haired, elder, witch, even hired a DJ for the impromptu celebration. The Headmaster gave her his approval and had put her in charge, since she wanted to boost student moral because the Newspaper Club members had finally returned to the Academy.

Hundreds of strings of small, white lights hung from the high ceiling. Multicolored spotlights illuminated a mirrored "disco ball" which was suspended over the center of the large room itself. Thousands of tiny lights painted the crowd of students who danced with each other in the middle of the gym itself.

"Yahoo! Tsukune!" he heard a moment later and knew who it was without turning around. The blue-haired succubus sported a black, low-cut mini-dress that was most likely against the law to wear in several countries. It barely covered her curvy physique and had caused several of the male students to pass out from massive nosebleeds, their upperclassman, Gin included.

She greeted him the way she always had by pressing his face into her impressive bosom.

"Mffm – hmmf -mfmff!" he protested as he desperately attempted to free himself from her grip as his face turned a light shade of blue. A moment later, a large, brass washtub fell from out of thin air and collided with the top of her head.

*Bonk!*

The curvaceous Succubus then fell over in a heap.

"Tsukune! Are you okay?" Yukari asked as she ran up to him and gave him a firm hug around his mid-section.

The little witch was dressed in a long, purple dress that came down to her knees with pink flowers embroidered into the soft fabric, along with a matching pair of heels. Her long, ebony hair was styled in elaborate curls which made her look older than she actually was. She also wore a little makeup, which made her seem more adult-like.

"Uh, yeah. Thanks Yukari," he said after they ended their brief, yet awkward embrace.

"Anytime, Tsukune... so... um – how do I look?" she asked with a bright blush.

"Oh – um – you look nice, Yukari," he said as he took notice of how grown-up she appeared. He was then grabbed from behind by another of his female friends, who had a bad habit of just popping out from nowhere.

"What about me, Tsukune?" Mizore asked as she released him from her hug.

He then turned around and offered her a warm smile which caused her always-pale features to blush a light pink. The snow maiden was dressed in a powder-blue kimono, which was trimmed with a light silver and matching obi (sash) that was tied around her slender waist.

"You look very nice, too, Mizore."

"Oh thank you, Tsukune," she breathed out as her cheeks burned hotter from his honest compliment.

"Damn it Yukari! What the hell was that for?" Kurumu said once she woke up a moment later after she was flattened by Yukari's magic wash-bin. The succubus had a small bump on her head from the unexpected, blunt, impact which had temporarily rendered her unconscious.

"That's for being a stupid milk cow! Why can't you get it through that thick head of yours that I don't like you trying to steal Tsukune away?" Yukari said as she pulled out her magic wand again, ready to punish Kurumu if she tried anything else.

"Now, now, girls. Let's not fight, okay? We're here to have fun, remember?" Tsukune said with a sweat-drop.

He did not want to see nor hear any fighting. Was it too much to ask for? All he wished-for was to relax for once then this started, all over again. Day in and day out, it was the same, repetitive, event. Hadn't they been through enough already?

"Come and dance with me, Tsukune. Let's leave these two to fight it out, even though they'll never win your heart," Mizore said as she quickly grabbed his left hand and then dragged him in the direction of the packed, dance floor.

"Oh no you don't! Tsukune's gonna dance with me first! He's my destined one, you damn snow skank!" Kurumu yelled back as she snatched Tsukune by his right arm and pulled him in her direction, away from Mizore.

"Back off Kurumu before I freeze you in a block of ice. Tsukune's my mate of fate, you stupid tramp" Mizore snapped back as her left hand transformed into ice claws.

"You're both wrong! Tsukune's gonna pick Moka and then we can have a three-way!" Yukari retorted with a blush at the very notion, as she latched onto Tsukune around his waist and refused to let go.

"Girls, please... can't we just get along for once?" Tsukune quietly said as the three, young, women, played tug of war with him. He then sensed a strong spike of youkai and knew who it was without saying a word.

"You heard him girls, let him go this instant!" Moka sharply demanded as she walked up to the trio – each of who pulled him in three, contrasting, directions at the same time. She was half-afraid that they would snap him in two, or three, as the case was.

"That's enough! STOP YOUR FIGHTING NOW!"

Mizore, Yukari, and Kurumu quickly released him and backed away as quickly as possible.

They were all shocked senseless that it was Tsukune who had shouted that.

His chocolate-brown eyes burned red with anger as he was far past the breaking point. He was also reasonably upset – mostly at himself for his severe, vocal, outburst.

"I – I'm sorry girls. I didn't mean that..." he said in a disgraceful way as he ran away towards the nearest exit.

Not only did he shout at his friends, he did not make an honest effort to apologize in a proper way. He was beyond mortified at his sudden change in behavior and overall temperament. He had never gotten that upset – and wondered to himself why he had lost it like that.

"Nice going girls. Your constant bickering and fighting over him is what caused him to yell at you, and quite frankly, you deserved it whether you like it or not," Moka said as she glared daggers at the three girls whom she had called her "friends".

If she had friends like that, who the hell needed enemies?

The vampires princess was dressed in a beautiful, form-fitting, metallic red, strapless gown, along with matching, high-heeled, pumps. The dress itself had a knee-high slit along each side of the shiny material.

Her, long, silvery hair was styled in soft waves, which made her look even more mature than she already was. She also wore a little blush on her cheeks and crimson lip gloss on her soft, pouty, lips.

"But – he's been so down lately. We just wanted to cheer him up," Yukari explained as she hung her head in a disgraceful fashion. Moka did have a point though: they had brought it on themselves and they knew better than to play with his emotions.

"Yeah Moka. Can't you see that he's suffering more than enough?" Mizore countered.

"That very well might be true – but it still doesn't give you the right to treat him like that. And if either of you give me that sorry-ass excuse of him being your 'mate of fate' or 'destined one', I'll make you regret ever being born. So I want all three of you to stay out of his way if you know what's good for you. I will go after him. I just hope he doesn't do something stupid like trying to leave the Academy, again."

"Why does it have to be you though? I wanna help," Yukari asked.

Without a reply to the young witch, Moka ran out of the same door Tsukune had used just a few, moments earlier and used her youkai detection ability. She knew where he gone off to and silently prayed that she could get through to him, somehow.

After running for several minutes, Tsukune soon found himself at the edge of the spooky, dead, forest, not too far from the entrance to the inter-dimensional tunnel that connected the yokai realm to the human world. He subconsciously happened to end up at the very same place he had met Outer Moka, nearly a year and a half earlier. The male vampire then leaned back against a large tree and heavily sighed.

'Why wasn't I able to stop her from being hurt by Alucard? Wasn't I strong enough? Should I have done something differently? Why couldn't I save her, too?' he sorrowfully thought to himself as the sad realization finally set in: Outer Moka would never come back, no matter what he said nor believed.

So obsessed in his current state of depression that Tsukune did not see or hear Moka when she approached him a moment later, even though the full, crimson moon in the sky above shone its bright light on the yokai world below.

"Hello, Tsukune," the vampiress softly said as she walked up to him and stood on his right-hand side.

"Oh! Um – hi – Moka," he replied as he scooted a bit to his left, since he felt somewhat uncomfortable by her sudden closeness.

"Do not worry, Tsukune. I'm not here to show you your place," she said with a small smile.

"Oh – um – okay. By the way, you um – look really pretty tonight, Moka," he said with another blush, which Moka did not take notice of.

"Oh thank you, Tsukune. By the way... you look very nice yourself," she answered with a genuine smile.

"Um, thanks. And I'm – I'm really sorry that you had to see that," he said with another sigh.

"Not a problem, Tsukune. And – I don't blame you one bit for getting upset like that. I know things have been – difficult lately. But you have to know – it has not been easy for me as well," Moka admitted. It was by no means simple for her. How could it be? To always be "awake", unsealed like that?

"Oh, um – thanks. Well... it's been really hard. And um – I'm sorry to hear that Moka. I can only guess how complicated it's been for you, right?" he said as his features softened and offered her a small smile of his own.

With just a nod, she then spoke:

"Of course, Tsukune – we – are still friends, right?" the silver-haired vampiress answered, her voice full of hesitation and uncertainty.

"Um, yeah. Of course."

"Would you like to walk back to the dorms? I was wondering if we could – talk maybe," Moka suggested.

With a simple gesture, he followed Moka back towards the dormitories, unsure of what she wanted to talk about all of a sudden.

"Ugh! That Moka, just who the hell does she think she is?!" Kurumu spat out as she stormed across the courtyard with Yukari hot on her trail and Mizore casually walking behind them.

"That Moka just happens to be Tsukune's true, future mate, you jealous milk cow!" Yukari responded heatedly with her wand at the ready as she then looked back at Mizore.

"That means you too! You both simply need to get it through your heads that they're destined to be together and there's nothing neither of you can do about it," the young witch continued.

"Oh – and I guess that a little kid like you would know what true love is all about, huh?!" Kurumu responded harshly, her claws drawn out.

"All you want is a one-night stand between two vampires that aren't even interested in what's at best, a perverted brat's wet-dream. You call that love? You're as much a kid as you act smart!" Kurumu then snapped at Mizore as Yukari's grip on her wand tightened.

"And you just wanna spread your legs open so you can punch out as many babies as you can just to shut your mom up!"

Mizore's glance sharpened. "...Now you're just pushing it, Kurumu."

Kurumu simply laughed indignantly before she practically screamed "I really don't care anymore! Here I am about to lose my destined one to someone who only sees him as a blood bag so the last thing I ought to care about is the feelings of a Lolita and a frigid wife wannabe!"

"Alright, Kurumu! That does..." Yukari snarled teary-eyed.

"Alright. That's enough!" A strict feminine voice demanded, taking the three by surprise. They all turned to see Ruby, dressed in a provocative, backless, black and gold Chinese dress. Her long, ebony hair was styled in two, complex braids which completed her look.

"This has gone on long enough. Tsukune's hurting and all the three of you care about is who can get him first? Just how selfish can you three be?!" Ruby scolded, more disappointed than angry.

"Like you're one to talk! You're the one calling yourself his toy!" Kurumu berated.

"That's right, I'm here for him, not for me," Ruby retorted heatedly before she went on.

"He can use me or completely ignore me – but in the end I care about what he wants, not just what I want, Kurumu."

The last statement widened the eyes of the blue-haired Succubus as truth hit home.

"You only care about him loving you; you'd rather he forgot about Omote and just spent every minute of the day, worshiping you. That isn't love; that's just plain spiteful," Ruby followed up before she turned her attention towards Mizore.

"Sure, your mother and race want you to become a mother, but do you see Tsukune fathering children simply because you want them? He's a Vampire, but he's human at heart and humans for the most part don't just have children for the sake of having them!"

"And here you once planned to wipe them out..." Mizore responded icily to the elder Witch.

"Then I met Tsukune and he rescued me from that mistake. He made me see the errors of my ways and since then I've felt indebted somewhat; so if anyone deserves happiness, it's him. Whether it be with me or not. Can you say the same?" Ruby retorted as Mizore blinked at the reply then sighed as she looked down.

"See?! Even Ruby gets it, so why don't you two just back off?!" Yukari sneered before she cringed at Ruby's sharp gaze.

"Yukari, you need to grow up too. Moka and Tsukune do not see you in the way you think they do; you're too far blinded by your infatuation to realize that if those two are meant to be together, then they're going to do so with each other and not with you."

"You done preaching yet?" Kurumu finally commented, having thought things through.

"I love Tsukune, more then you'll ever understand!" she continued.

"Then it's perhaps time you started thinking more about respecting his wishes and less about getting what you want," Ruby replied sternly. "If not just for tonight; leave him alone."

The ten minute walk back to the boys dormitory, was for the lack of a better term, somewhat uneventful. Moka silently noticed that he appeared to be on the jittery side, and passed it off as nothing more than nervousness.

Both vampires remained in silence, unsure of what to say to one another, but that could wait until they were at least, alone. Thankfully for the duo, none of the other girls were in sight, nor hiding out somewhere along the shrubbery, like a common stalker.

As Tsukune anxiously inserted the brass key into the lock of his door, he turned it to the right and unlocked it, then motioned for Moka to enter his room first.

After they each had removed their dress shoes, Tsukune walked inside and switched on the overhead lamp, which lit his sparsely decorated room. He then walked over to his bed, with Moka hot on his heels.

"Um you can have a seat, if you'd like. I'd offer you a can of tomato juice but I didn't have a chance to restock lately..." Tsukune explained as she took him up on his offer and sat about one-half of a meter from him, near the foot of his bed.

"Oh, thank you. It's alright. I understand, Tsukune," she warmly replied. She blushed a bit from his thoughtfulness for her overall, well-being. He hummed yes in agreement.

Moka stayed quiet for several, awkward moments. She was unsure of how to say what she wanted to, even though she knew beforehand what it was that she had thought about on the way back to his room.

"So, Moka – you said that you wanted to talk to me," Tsukune said as he brought her thoughts back to the present.

"Oh – right. I just wanted to say – thank you," Moka replied as her face flushed pink. She quickly adverted her eyes as her cheeks warmed up from what she had just said.

"Um... thanks for what?"

"For – saving me, Tsukune. If – if it were not for you... I do not believe that I'd be here today," Moka grimly replied as she thought about her recent loss.

"Why Moka? Why are you thanking me for?"

"Because Tsukune. It is the truth," she said as she turned back and faced him.

"But – I failed you Moka. I should have been more aware... before..."

"No, Tsukune. You need to stop blaming yourself for Omote's death. You did what you could. Alucard was too powerful for any of us to go up against. But I am also proud of you."

"No. No, Moka. I should have seen it coming and been stronger. This power you gave me... I've wasted it. I wasted it because I was afraid. I was afraid that I'd lose you too," he said as he shed a few tears of anguish and regret.

"Please stop torturing yourself, Tsukune. You did everything you could. You also wanted to be stronger, did you not?"

"I can't Moka. Every time I see you, I think of her even if she was not who I thought she was. Of course I wanted to be stronger so I could protect all of you. But I'm nothing short of a failure," he said as he turned away from her as if he were unworthy to be anywhere near her.

"I know Tsukune, hence your recent – avoidance of me. She was more like a sister to me than anything else, even though she was, as hard as it is to believe – a clone of my mother. And besides, you are hardly a failure, Tsukune. You just do not see that for yourself."

"But she died Moka! She died because I wasn't strong or fast enough! I wanted to save her. But it was too late. It was too late. I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry Moka," he lamented as he broke down and cried heavily.

"Oh Tsukune... you are by far the most bravest person I have ever known. You have faced foes more powerful than you and still, you never wavered and beat incredible odds. I know how strong you've become and I know without a doubt, that she would be quite proud of you, just as I am. So thank you Tsukune for saving me," she said as she was unsure of what to do.

Moka had no clue on how to console him so she did the only thing she could: she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him into her soft, yet firm, bosom – just like she had the first time they met after he had released her from the confines of her Rosary. Tsukune held her firmly and refused to let go, half-afraid if he did, that he would lose her as well.

That bleak thought alone broke his already-fractured heart, which only time could heal.

"It's alright Tsukune. Just don't tell the other girls about this, okay? It will be out little secret."

Tsukune stayed firmly in place and continued to shed several tears. After everything he had been through, it was just far, too much to handle, emotionally.

...

Several minutes later, Tsukune felt better, to a small degree. Moka decided on her own to hold him for a bit longer. She wanted him to cheer up of course, even though it was moderately embarrassing for her to do; she just wanted to be there for him and offered him a 'shoulder to cry on' if it were.

He then reluctantly sat up and pried his face from her warm, comforting bosom with a bright blush across his cheeks, rendered speechless that she had actually held him like that. He then reached into his left, slacks pocket, and pulled out a clean, white, handkerchief. He quickly turned to his left, wiped his eyes, and then blew his nose.

Once he felt presentable again, he shoved the piece of cloth back into his pants pocket and looked at Moka with swollen, puffy, eyes.

"Um – thanks Moka," he sheepishly said with a weak smile as he scratched the back of his neck with his right hand out of nervous habit.

"Anytime, Tsukune. Um – don't get the wrong idea. I – just wanted to be sure that you were alright after you ran out of the gymnasium."

"Oh right. About that... so uh, you were worried about me?"

"I wouldn't say that but I was merely – concerned, that's all. There's no need for you to explain yourself. Those girls had it coming, after-all. And – I also know things have been – awkward between us since – the incident. But I just want you to know... that – if you need a friend, I'll try my best – to be there for you," Moka said as she swiftly adverted her eyes in the opposite direction.

The silver-tressed vampiress was flabbergasted that she had said something as sappy as that, but she felt as though she needed to be honest, no matter how embarrassing it was.

"Oh um... the same goes for me," he said in return.

...

Moka felt better as she knew he would be alright, for the time being anyway. At least she was there for him and not fighting over him like the other girls in his class. For that the male vampire was rather grateful for. She then scooted a bit towards him and inhaled his scent which resulted in her fangs to throb with a dull, ache.

"Tsukune... I must admit - you smell absolutely intoxicating," she breathed out, her heart hammered heavily in her chest, as she came somewhat, closer to him.

He took the not-so-subtle hint and loosened his navy blue tie and then unbuttoned the three, top buttons of his dress shirt.

"It's okay, Moka. It's the least I could do," he said with a smile as she gave him a shy smile.

The vampiress then wrapped her right arm around his back while she gently cradled the back of his head with her left hand. As she opened her mouth a bit, she slowly closed the short space between themselves, licked the right side of his neck with her tongue, and then pierced the base of his neck with her sharp fangs.

Tsukune sucked in a bit of air as her canines sunk into his flesh.

"Oh Moka..." he said, his voice barely a whisper. Moka's mind fogged over as she was lost in the moment. A groan of appreciation bubbled up her throat as she drank his intoxicating blood in small, steady slurps.

'Oh kami... his blood is exquisite. I – I might become addicted if this continues any further. I don't think I could ever get enough of him, not even if I drain him dry... but a bit more won't hurt," she silently thought to herself.

Once her blood-lust was appeased, she removed her fangs from his neck, licked the small puncture marks closed with her moist tongue, and then sat up from her awkward position.

"Thank you Tsukune," she said with a smile.

"Anytime Moka. And thanks again, you know - for earlier," he replied likewise.

Shortly afterward, Moka decided to leave since she realized she had nearly stayed past curfew. After they said goodnight to each other, she wished him a pleasant night's sleep and walked back to her room in the female dormitory which was across the courtyard that separated the two buildings.

Once she made it back to her room, she walked over to her window and waved to Tsukune who repeated in a similar fashion. After they said goodnight once again, Tsukune closed his blinds, removed his suit, and went straight to bed.

Even though it had been an emotionally draining evening, he fell asleep before he realized it. He silently prayed that he would someday have the courage to tell Moka how he really felt, since he loved her as well.

Moka was on cloud nine as the realization finally set in; she knew in her heart that she loved him as well but was in no rush to confess as much, and hoped that he could someday, accept her as she was. She wanted to remain friends, no matter if they spoke to each other on a daily basis or not. As long as she had him by her side, she would do her best to make sure he spent the rest of his time at the monsters-only high school, in peacefulness.

A/N:

Loved it? Hated it? I tried my best to tie this into my already-established canon while following actual canon, even though this was never shown in the manga series.

This is more of a "behind the scenes" bonus, chapter. Tsukune and Moka come to grips with the loss of "Outer" Moka who was also known as "Omote" in the manga series. I know it's short but it does get the point across, more or less.

This was something I had planned out for a while now but was unsure of how to go about it while having it "fit" into my original "reboot", which was a lot harder than it would seem. If you loved it or hated it, please feel free to leave a comment – it would mean a lot to me!

By the way, this will most likely be the last chapter of the year, since Christmas is coming up very soon. So Happy Holidays to everyone who celebrates the festive, holiday, season. :)
