Hello people, I am back for at least a little bit as I had an idea that was no longer causing me to be stuck in thought. I know this chapter is shorter than I like them to be but it is only so I can get to the next one and not be stopped.
Leia stares at two people in the distance, people she is able to identify as Obi-wan and her father. No, she quickly mentally corrects herself, Vader. The man is Vader, not her father. Obi-wan is on a hill, and Vader on a platform hovering over lava slightly below.
"It's over, Anakin. I have the high ground," Obi-wan yells at Vader.
"You underestimate my power," Vader replies.
"Don't try it."
But, of course, Vader did try it. Obi-wan moves his lightsaber in a quick motion removing Vader's legs and left arm. With a thud Vader falls to the ground, sliding down on the soft soil to the river of lava. His eyes no longer hold the shin of bright blue instead a glowing yellow that sends chills throughout Leia's body and mind.
The man on the ground says gently and shocked, "Obi-wan…?"
"You were the chosen one! It was said that you were to destroy the Sith," Obi-wan says yelling. His shouts falter as his words come out, "not join them. Bring balance to the Force not leave it in darkness." His words fail him even more as he cries out, "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you, but I couldn't save you. Even though I wish I could have," the last words barely able to be heard over the cries of pain and agony of the man below. Leia realizes that Vader had caught on fire while she was focused on Obi-wan.
"I hate you," Vader screams, his voice almost unrecognizable now. From his cries of pain or from the damage caused by the fire, Leia did not know.
Obi-wan walks away, obviously doing his best to ignore the screams of agony coming from his friend. She falls to her knees, so these are the events that made the monster known as Darth Vader. Manipulation, betrayal, and heartbreak.
The environment around her shifts, she now feels cold metal under her knees. Leia stands from the now uncomfortable position. She is in a dark medical room, droid surrounding someone howling in pain on an operation table, adding cybernetic limbs to their body. The events seem to move in fast motion until the operation was over, the person on the table now revealed to be Darth Vader. His mechanical breathing now echoing through the room.
A man is standing close to the operation table, wearing a black cloak with the hood above his head covering his face. The operation table raises leaning Vader forward.
"Lord Vader," the man with the hood says. "Can you hear me?"
"Yes, master. Where is Padmé? Is she safe? Is she alright," Vader inquires.
"It appears in your anger, you killed her."
"No," Vader says his vocalizer unable to process the emotion."I? I couldn't have. She was alive. I felt it!"
Suddenly almost everything in the room started to crush and implode or explode. Vader falls to his knees crying out in pain, not physical pain but mental pain, the pain of loss.
With a swift transition, everything changes again, now Leia appears to be in some sort of conference room.
"Hidden, safe, the children must be kept," a small green creature says. The small creature ponders something for a second. "Split up they should be."
"Master, the twins have a connection already. Separating them may do more harm than good," Obi-wan says to the creature.
"Together, too much attention would they bring."
"Where would they go?"
"Masters, if I may," a voice all too familiar to Leia rings out. The voice of Bail Organa. "I may not know much about the Force, but I do know about love. My wife and I would gladly take either of them, we have been looking to adopt a girl. We would not mind, however."
"Go with you she may. Tell her do not of her parents, or of her twin."
With a jolt, Leia wakes up, just in time as it would seem as the door to her cell opens swiftly. Revealing the black mass that is Vader. Surprisingly he is alone with no troopers to be seen. He steps in and closes the door behind him, causing Leia to shrink back on the metal shelf.
"I do not intend to harm you more than I have," Vader's voice echoes in the tiny cell.
"If you want my forgiveness, you don't have it," she spat back at him.
"I would not ask for it as I do not deserve it. Come, you need medical attention."
"You didn't seem to care when I was brought here."
"I was more focused on your brother, young one."
"Like you care! If you cared you would not have done what you have."
Vader seems to snap at her words, "Family has always meant everything to me. I thought you and your brother died, along with your mother. I did everything out of love and I lost everything."
"Perhaps you should have made better choices!"
"I am aware of that now. Now come," he says motioning his hand for her to follow.
"Why?"
"I am taking you to your brother, and you will receive medical attention. Do you need assistance?" Vader steps towards her offering a hand.
"No, don't touch me."
As they walk through the halls of the Star Destroyer. Leia can almost feel the eyes of the Stormtroopers and Imperial officers on her. The tension in her could be enough to crush the hull of the ship entirely. Soon enough, they reach the medical wing of the ship. Suddenly, Vader halts and the troopers escorting them follow suit stopping her as well. Curious as to why the sudden stop she looked up and saw the dead bodies of (what she could only assume) the majority of the medical staff, along with several troopers and officers.
