But for now here's an update :) the next one is almost done so it should be posted tomorrow or Saturday. Happy reading! Please leave one of your awesome reviews!
Henry peeked quietly out his door and when he saw no one he quickly and silently tiptoed out and down the hall and then snuck down the stairs. The house was silent; an odd thing to be for it was so late in the morning. Even on a Saturday. Once in the kitchen he quickly switched on the coffee machine and stood there with his arms folded on the counter and his chin on his arms as he waited for the dark liquid to start filling the pot. When the drips grew in to a slow and steady stream he smiled and pushed himself up straight and skipped over to the dishwasher where he pulled out a bowl and spoon.
With both items placed on the counter he opened a cupboard and pulled out the box of Cheerios and as he started pouring them in his bowl, his mother walked in to the kitchen. She hadn't gotten dressed yet so she was wearing a black tank top with a laced neckline, a loosely fitted open grey sweater that was snug around her arms, and then a pair of navy blue silk pyjama bottoms. Her hair was tousled and her face was makeup free and he had to bite the inside of his cheek and avoid eye contact to keep himself from grinning as she too tried to force down the small subtle curl of the corner of her mouth as she walked past him to the coffee pot.
As he finished pouring his cereal, she finished pouring her coffee in to her favourite mug and was now pouring in just a little sugar and went and opened the fridge for just a small dollop of cream. Before closing the fridge she pulled out the milk and poured some in his bowl for him and allowed her smile to grow just a little more as he did his and began pushing all the Cheerios under the milk with his spoon. Still not a word was spoken between the pair as Regina stirred her coffee and Henry dunked his cereal in the milk.
Sucking her own spoon clean, she proceeded to place it in the sink and then moved back to the island where she leaned forward and bent at the waist so she supported her weight on her elbows and looked at Henry over the rim of her mug as she inhaled the warm scent. As Henry took a big spoonful of his cereal to keep himself from grinning, she took a careful sip of her coffee and relaxed pleasantly at the feeling of the hot liquid going down her throat and into her stomach.
"You're grounded," she smiled at him and took another sip.
"What?!" He protested with a laugh, his mouth full of half chewed Cheerios.
"You heard me," she smirked and put her mug down on the counter while Henry swallowed his bite.
"Why?!" He laughed a little louder and she pursed her lips together playfully to try and keep her grin at bay as she traced her fingertip around the rim of her mug.
"Mmmm...because you are meddling."
"That's not fair!" He continued to laugh and she shrugged her shoulders and raised her eyebrows a little as she lifted her mug once more for another sip.
"Is it not?"
"No because I'm doing it for the greater good," he smirked and lifted his chin high with a rock of his head and put a spoonful in his mouth.
"Oh? And how is that?" She chuckled and raised an eyebrow before taking another drink.
"If you're happy, everybody else is happy," he answered simply with a smirk still in place and quickly swallowed, "I told you you two work really well together."
"Grounded."
"Worth it," he laughed through his toothy grin and she finally let a proper smile show as she breathed out a laugh and bowed her shaking head, "oh and you're welcome."
"Arrogant," she mumbled quietly in to her mug with playful eyes looking back at her son as he laughed.
"Learned from the best," he grinned with a wink and she opened her mouth with a scoff, a smile still present across her open mouth.
"Brat," she scolded playfully with partially squinted eyes above her mug as he laughed.
"I'm glad you had a good night," he chuckled with a wide grin as he measured out another spoonful and she hummed long and happy as she stared in to her mug with a smile. He hadn't seen her smile like that in years. Happy and worry free. It had been long before Emma came to town since he last saw her like that, "you deserve it."
Regina smiled a little more and flicked her eyes up from her mug to see her son smiling up at her with a pride that could have made her cry. "Thank you, Henry," she told him softly and he cocked his head.
"For what?"
"Being more stubborn than me," she smiled a little and then shrugged one shoulder, "it's hard for me sometimes. But you make things easier whether you intend to or not."
Henry reined back his grin as he quirked his head to the other side and aimlessly dunked his cereal under the milk again with his spoon, "good," was all he could think of to say. He was too humble to say much else but he was more than a little chuffed at his mother's words.
Regina smiled as she sipped her coffee while Henry tried his best to pull back his grin and she walked around the island to stand next to him rather than across from him. She loved him so much, "I'm sorry I didn't make you dinner last night."
"That's okay," he chuckled lightly, "the queen brought me some food after she helped me with my homework."
She had completely forgotten about the queen. "She didn't try to cook anything did she?"
"No," Henry laughed and brought another spoonful to his mouth, "she did put a silence spell around the den though. Apparently you and David were 'running with each other in reckless abandon' which I guess means you were loud," he smirked with a quiet laugh and watched his mother purse her lips and cross her jaw as she gently cleared her throat and focused all her attention on the steaming liquid in her favourite red mug, "she seemed pretty thrilled," he laughed a little more and took another spoonful in his mouth as he did.
"...you didn't hear anything did you?"
"No," he laughed and she relaxed a little, "but if I had would I still be grounded?"
"Yes," she smirked at him and he shrugged with a hopeless grin.
"Worth a try."
...
David woke slowly and on the couch. He muscles were stiff and he frowned at his restricted movement until he remembered why exactly he was a little too stiff to have it be blamed on the couch he slept on.
Regina.
The memories came flooding back in all at once and he found himself smiling as he stretched in place only to find his legs unable to move. Curious and confused he opened his eyes and slowly propped himself up on his elbow so he could see his legs. He couldn't help but breathe a drowsy laugh at the bulldog sprawled on his back over his feet and calves still fast asleep. He rolled his eyes with a shake of his head and reached in to his pocket for his phone to look at the time but found a text from Emma instead. One that made no sense to him at all and had him furrowing his brow.
Thank you for last night. It was nice to just talk and the waves cleared my head.
"What's with the face?" Snow chuckled lightly as she walked in to his line of sight and stopped at the end of the couch by his feet and a sleeping Finnegan. Her worries had been calmed last night by Emma but they came right back when she woke up alone and found him on the couch.
"Emma's text. Makes no sense..." He shook his head but slowly the pieces clicked together when he looked up at Snow to find her analyzing him carefully as she watched her spoon swirl in her tea. He was glad he risked waking everyone and had a shower when he got home in the middle of the night. With the way Snow was acting he knew she would lose her mind the moment she smelled Regina on him. And she would have smelled her on him.
"What's it say?" She asked and waited for him to slip up. She hoped she was just paranoid.
"Just thank you for last night," he frowned and and Snow flicked her eyes up out of her mug, feigning innocence but hanging off every word. So he continued the alibi Emma had created for him. It was a simple enough lie that could be spun, "why would she feel the need to say thank you for that? I adore talking with her."
"Well she's had a lot on her mind lately. A good walk through the forest with her father did a lot to ease it."
"Pier," he corrected and she hummed in innocent confusion but he knew she was prodding and waiting for him to make a mistake. She was suspicious and he needed her off his back, "we were at the pier."
"What did I say?"
"The forest."
"Did I? Must've been thinking of something else for a moment there," she excused with a light laugh and he dismissed it without a thought and began pushing himself up in to a seated position which had Finnegan rolling back on to his paws so he could stretch and shake before his tongue happily lolled out of his mouth and he sat down next to David. "Why did you sleep on the couch?"
"I didn't want to wake you," he told her simply but she wasn't satisfied so he added, "and I just wanted to be alone for a little while. Then I fell asleep," he breathed and scratched the top of Finnegan's head, "did Emma leave already?"
"Yes."
"Well I'm going to go see if she needs me at the station."
"Will you drop the dog off on your way?"
"Yeah sure. Where am I dropping him off?"
"Henry called this morning and wanted to see if he could have him for the day. I think he's trying to convince Regina to get one."
"Well that's not going to happen any time soon," David chuckled and Snow hummed a more relaxed tone with a light laugh. He was going to Regina's anyway. Now he had a real reason and didn't need to make up an excuse.
...
He didn't knock on the front door when he got to the house. He simply walked in quietly with Finnegan trotting beside him until he turned and ran upstairs in search of Henry. David simply breathed a laugh and made his way to the kitchen where he heard the gentle clatter of someone working away in there. He was delighted to find that someone to be Regina. Her back was to him and she hadn't yet seen him which gave him the rare pleasure of watching her when she thought no one was. She was still in her pyjamas which was a rare sight in general and absolutely unheard of at ten o'clock in the morning. Even if it was a Saturday. Navy blue silk pyjama pants, a black tank top, and a charcoal grey knit sweater that was well loved, loose, and open with its sleeves pushed up just beneath her elbows.
It made him smile to watch her work in her own little world and when she opened the oven to take a peek at its contents, the warm sweet smell of cinnamon buns filled the kitchen and made his mouth water. Content after watching her for a little while longer, he stepped further in to the kitchen and caught her eye. She did a double take and then lingered there for a moment, making sure it was him and not the king before a giddy smile pulled at her lips against her will and she dropped her eyes to the towel between her hands.
It had him grinning like a damn fool as he stepped even closer to her and she caught the corner of her bottom lip between her teeth as she slowly tucked her hair behind her ear. She was absolutely beautiful. And soft. Her face was free of makeup and her hair was soft and tousled and only styled as much as her combing fingers allowed for. And that smile. That smile made his heart light and happy in his chest, "good morning."
"Good morning," she parroted softly and happily as she pressed her smiling lips together to keep herself from grinning too wide. She wanted to smile as wide as she could and never stop. But a part of her was still unsure if she could. So she reined herself in until she knew for sure what he was there for because something could have easily happened between the time he left the night before and right then that morning as he slowly strolled toward her. With a grin of his own, she might add. One that had her feeling completely giddy and restless. Like he was the first man she had ever been with. It felt like Daniel all over again but stronger and with more baggage that she preferred to ignore.
He could not get over that smile of hers. It was so true and bright and joyous and he had never seen it before and now that he had he knew he wanted to see it all the time. She deserved to smile like that. "Smells absolutely delicious in here," he complimented and she managed to look him in the eye and keep it for more than half a second.
"I had a craving," she shrugged a little and found it harder to keep her head on straight with every step he took toward her.
"Well how about that. I find myself here this morning to satiate a craving of my own," he smirked and she bowed her head with a soft and bashful laugh as she folded her towel and set it on the countertop.
"And what, may I ask, is this craving you've found impossible to satiate on your own?" She bantered with him and pivoted a quarter step so her hip was against the counter when he came around the other side of the island.
"Cinnamon buns," he answered as if it were obvious and she laughed with a light shake of her head while he slowly slid his hands over her sides beneath her sweater and wrapped his arms around her waist as he stepped right up to her. Her exhale was shaky against his neck and her smile began to slip away to make room for lust. An expression he rather loved on her. While one arm remained around her lower back with a hand on her hip, he moved the other so his fingertips trailed slowly and lightly up and down her spin as his eyes studied her face and his smile fell victim to lust as well, "amongst other things, of course."
"More than one? Funny thing about cravings is that they tend to come singularly," she inquired with a playful little smirk as his touch made her dizzy and her eyes fell blatantly to his mouth. He hadn't shaved and the promise of stubble scratching at her skin had her shivering and suppressing a low moan.
"Well then maybe I lied about the cinnamon buns," he breathed out, his voice low and rather husky as she leaned in to him a little heavier and her posture wavered between leaning in to kiss him and waiting for him to kiss her.
"What did you come here for then?" She questioned needlessly for she already knew the answer. But she couldn't help herself and continued the banter.
"I needed to kiss you good morning," he told her and watched her mouth pull in to a wide grin beyond her control. He had only dreamed of seeing such smiles from her and now here he was the cause of them. It had him grinning in return and he was just relieved that she hadn't put any walls up this morning. She wasn't even trying to push him back, she was doing quite the opposite in fact. She was coaxing him closer and that made him so happy.
She easily stepped in to him when his arms wound a little tighter around her waist and his heart skipped at the complete lack of resistance in her body and mind. It was so encouraging and it brought him such relief that if he were not so enthralled in her smile, he would give in to his tightening chest and cry tears of joy. It had been so hard, so virtually impossible to get to her and now it was just so easy. All it took was being in the same room and she wandered to him as he walked to her so he could hold her close and she let him without so much as a thought otherwise. That alone felt like magic to him.
She leaned right in to him so her body was pressed right up against his so she could feel him again. He was warm and strong and safe just as he was last night and that shooed away any remaining hesitance still trying to work its way in to her mind. She had been distracting herself all morning. She had been making sure she remained happy and open until he came back and now that he was back she felt everything all over again and it felt amazing. He wasn't even doing anything but holding her close to him but that was enough to confirm in her heart and mind that this was what she wanted.
Her hands had slid up his arms and her fingertip moved in varying pressures up and down his muscled biceps as she told him quietly, "that is a good answer," she smirked and pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she grinned and he laughed a little. Then he was dipping his head down to hers and her eyes fell to his lips before they fluttered closed and he caught her in a kiss. It was slow and loving and had her sighing as she lifted her hands to gently hold his face as she took half a step closer to him.
It had her heart skipping and fluttering as her chest filled with warmth. She moaned softly against his mouth and he hummed lovingly in return and the sound had her simply melting in to him. His stubble was rough beneath her hands and his kiss remained soft and slow and the contrast between the two had her mind whirring. He smoothly paused their kiss for a moment and she shivered in delight when he kept his head against hers and his nose against her cheek.
Her hands were warm and smelled of the cinnamon she had been working with which only had his heart yearning stronger for her. It confirmed that this dream of a woman was real and he gently told her, "good morning," against her lips that pulled in to another smile. One that he couldn't see but could feel. She returned the greeting with a soft happy voice and a thumb moving slowly back and forth over his cheek that lulled him back down to her lips and he kissed her again a little stronger this time.
She reciprocated in kind and he could feel himself quickly losing control over himself at the change of pace. The pace that seemed to just keep accelerating. She moved against him and he released one arm from around her waist so he could move his hand up her body. Over her side, around to her back, up her shoulder blades, and in to soft silk tresses as she swivelled her head and moaned against his open mouth between kisses.
He pivoted her so her back was against the counter and swiftly and seamlessly he lifted her on to the countertop so she was the same height as him. Her legs were immediately hooked around his legs and hips and his hands roamed her body as she made various small sounds of pleasure that encouraged him to keep going. He was lost in her. She was an ocean and he longed to drown in her but he couldn't seem to get enough of her to do just that.
Her body was on fire and her nerves went haywire the moment he dropped his head so he could kiss her neck and his stubble scratched her skin. His face had been a little on the rough side the night before but now it was obvious and visible and she shivered beneath him as a sharp whimper left her lips and her fingers took fistfuls of his shirt. He hummed curiously at the reaction as his kisses upon her neck fed the heat between her legs. It was a silent question and she was not afraid to give him the answer, "there is no faster way to turn me on than a man's rough jaw against my neck," she breathed and felt him grin against her clavicle before he very deliberately dragged his jaw up her neck as his hot breath blew against her skin and his hands moved up her side and down her thigh.
She was a mess. A whimpering quivering mess as she clawed at his shirt over his bicep and side and her knees rose higher as her legs gripped tighter around him. Had he known this particular detail he would have kept himself from a truly close shave until he had earned himself a kiss from her. He had a sneaking suspicion that last night's events would have been even more spectacular had he had a bit more scruff. But it didn't matter. He was using it now and she had very quickly fallen in to a lustful haze that had his ego growing just a little.
She was dizzy as she blinked at him and his mouth was kept mere inches from hers. He wasn't playing fair. But she didn't care. His lips pressed to hers again, slow and strong in a way that would have made her swoon had she been standing.
He moaned against her and she gave a soft whimper in return as her fingers raked through his hair. "I do believe I have an unfortunate mess I need to take care of," he breathed before he kissed her again and her reply was a contented sigh against his mouth that turned in to more of a moan when his roaming fingers dipped toward the inside of her thigh.
She moaned but she didn't expect him to start right then and there. She jolted just a little at the slow and heavy contact of his hand moving over her clit through her silk pyjama bottoms but she didn't stop him. Mostly she was too caught up in the sensation to actually try and stop him. Only partially because she didn't want him to stop. She let out a more throaty moan followed by a shallow and shaky breath against his shoulder when he nipped at the corner of her jaw. He tugged her closer to the edge of the counter and her knee lifted higher as her toes curled at the steady pleasure his hand offered.
"H-Henry's here," she tried to argue some sense but lost the moment she moaned in to his shoulder and turned her head to kiss his neck as her hands fisted his shirt.
"He was here last night," he argued back as he made her crumble to pieces again and her heavy breaths shot heat down his neck.
"He was shut in his room last night," she moaned out and her voice joined her breaths as she began to quiver every now and then as his hand continued to slowly build the pleasure and pressure inside her.
"Then you had better be quiet," he breathed as he kissed the strained hollow of her neck and she tried to swallow a whimper as her nails dug in to him tor a moment before releasing him.
"Mmmm the queen was right about you," she moaned out as she lolled her head back so he could kiss his way up to her.
"Oh?" He questioned curiously and then placed a wet kiss in the middle of her throat before dragging his lips up a little higher to do the same there.
"You are entirely wasted on Snow White," she breathed as his heavy fingers circled her clit. She was absolutely delighted to feel him smile against her throat and hear him breathe out a quiet laugh.
...
"What are you doing out of bed so late?" Henry chuckled when he ran in to the queen in the hall upstairs.
"It is Saturday."
"Yes."
"From what I understand, in this world it is acceptable to stay in bed late on both Saturdays and Sundays."
"Well yeah," Henry laughed with a shake of his head, "but you never stay in bed late."
"Yes well...I was having sex with David," she answered bluntly and Henry's faced scrunched up in both disgust and amusement. But mostly amusement. Which had her smirking just a little.
"You're no better than my mom," he whined out with a laugh and the queen laughed happily in front of him through her toothy grin.
"How is your mother anyway?" Regina laughed lightly, changing the subject to spare the poor boy.
"Super happy with life," Henry grinned excitedly and the queen smiled a bright smile of her own with closed lips, "I was going to go check to see what she is making down there that smells so good but David's down there so I came back upstairs before they started doing super gross grown up stuff again." The queen laughed a good long laugh at that and then leaned down to kiss his forehead and ruffled his hair with her fingers as she walked past him still laughing to herself.
"What's going on?" The king chimed in as she stepped out in to the hall and followed his wife to the stairs, giving Henry's shoulder a friendly squeeze as he passed him.
"The sheriff is back," Regina smirked and David hummed in enthusiastic curiosity and eagerly followed her.
Henry simply rolled his eyes and shook his head with a laugh and turned to go back to his room, "grown ups are weird, Finnegan," Henry sighed and looked down at the happily panting dog trotting beside him.
