"These blasted shoes," she cursed under her breath at the clicking of her stilettos and gracelessly tugged them off her feet as she walked and David laughed quietly behind her.
"Do you not remember the last time we invaded her personal life?"
"This is different."
"How so?"
"We are not playing with it. We are simply observing it."
"She's still not going to like it."
"Well then don't let her see you," the smirked and he rolled his eyes with a smirk of his own, "besides if they're just talking then we won't be intruding," she reasoned and he rolled his eyes as they crossed the foyer and down the little hall where there was more coverage than the entry from the dining room. They paused at the doorway and slowly peeked inside and the queen couldn't help but pull her bottom lip between her teeth and grin at the sight of the mayor coming undone on the kitchen counter by the sheriff's hand. The pair of them were still fully clothed but that made it all the more deliciously sexy in the queen's opinion.
She only lingered there a moment longer before she ducked her head back behind the wall and found that her husband already had and was leaning against the wall opposite her with a smile on his face. The queen's grin only grew as she walked away to the sound of the stubborn mayor quietly reaching her climax, her shoes still hanging from her fingertips as her husband followed her. Everything was falling in to place perfectly.
...
Regina gave a long hum with an underlying whine as her body quivered in the aftershock of the orgasm he had just given her. His mouth kissed her neck as her head lolled over to the side and her heavy breaths left her parted lips and flickering lights sparked behind her closed eyelids. Her legs moved and hugged him closer to her as his hand left her clit and slid around to her back and slipped beneath the hem of her tank top so he could caress her skin over her back and her side.
He was gentle and he was savouring her, treasuring her, loving her. It felt amazing and she couldn't seem to recall why she had kept herself from this for so long. It certainly didn't feel wrong. It was the most right thing she had ever felt. "I love what you do to me," she breathed and he responded with a long and low hum as he dragged his lips up the side of her neck, kissing her below ear before peppering kisses along her jaw.
"You are beautiful," he whispered and she smiled as he kissed the corner of her mouth, "you darling woman," he breathed and then caught her mouth in a kiss. Hard and slow and deep. The pair of them moaned against one another and his hands grew heavier as they moved up her sides, bunching up her shirt and sweater around his wrists. He couldn't get enough of her. She filled his mind, her soft skin and strong body, her hot breath, her fervent kiss, her silky hair, her scent, her voice, everything, all of it, he didn't know how he had managed to go so long without her. More importantly he didn't know if he could now live without her.
"I am certainly no expert but I do believe the food is supposed to be removed from the oven when the clock device beeps," the queen smirked and the mayor practically jumped out of her skin at the sound of her voice. The queen could only grin a little wider when the mayor met her gaze with wide and startled eyes. Fearful eyes that she soothed with a more gentle smile and a tilt of her head. The softening seemed to do the trick and the mayor cleared her throat as she straightened her neck and looked at David's chest as she slowly slid off the counter and David needlessly aided her with his hands on her sides as he too came down from the fright she had caused them.
"I didn't wish to interrupt but I also didn't want such a deliciously aromatic confectionary to be ruined," the queen smirked as she sauntered in to the kitchen and leaned her hip against the island, her eyes flicking to the sheriff who found himself biting back a grin as he dropped his eyes to the floor.
Regina rolled her eyes as she stepped around David toward the oven and with a flick of her hand, engulfed herself in her purple smoke. When she stepped out of the smoke and tugged open the oven she had swapped her sodden silk pyjama bottoms for a pair of dark jeans, her bare feet for a pair of dark plum stilettos, her black cotton tank top for a soft ivory one that was not silk but was rather slippery to the touch, and her favourite grey sweater was exchanged for a tailored black blazer with no buttons and sleeves that cut off at the middle of her forearm. Her make up was done and her hair was smoothed but she could still feel the warmth of his hands and mouth on her skin.
"I have never burned my cinnamon buns and I don't plan to start today," Regina retorted as she pulled on her oven mittens and took in a long breath as the sweet smell rushed out of the oven and surrounded her.
"Yes well it's funny what a little morning fun can interfere with."
"And you would know?" Regina retorted plainly as she slid the pan out of the oven.
The paused for a moment in thought and then answered cheerfully, "nope."
Regina couldn't help herself. She laughed. It was quiet but it was real and she shook her head as she pulled the oven mitts from her hands and the queen laughed quietly behind her. "Where is your better half anyway?" Regina inquired curiously as she turned around and hesitantly stilled herself next to David and focused on the queen. She was unused to having someone, she was unsure of the rules and the customs. But surely she could stand by him...perhaps even touch him...she wanted to fall in to him and let him hold her while she hugged him close but she was no longer alone with him. Even if it was just the queen in their presence, it was a set of eyes on them and it put her on edge and made her feel...insecure.
The queen rocked her head a little with a smirk at the mayor's playful jab and then shrugged a shoulder and answered as if it were as ordinary as the sun rising on a Wednesday morning, "he ventured downstairs with me in search of food but when we found the pair of you had claimed the kitchen for your own pleasure, he wandered back upstairs to converse with Henry and the fat wrinkly beast," she smiled innocently with a cock of her head and while David bowed his head and fought between embarrassment and amusement, the mayor looked straight at her unsure of whether she should be horrified that she had been caught or flip to arrogance and retort something in return. It seemed nothing was coming to mind and the woman just stared at her with wide eyes and a slightly parted mouth.
Regina was at a loss for words and when the queen chuckled and walked past her to the pan of fresh cinnamon buns behind her, her eyes remained focused ahead of her where the queen had been standing. It was not often she didn't have any words. But it wasn't exactly all that often she was caught shamelessly being fucked on her kitchen counter by Prince Charming. In fact it was safe to say that she had never been confronted by this situation ever.
It had felt good though.
She was snapped sharply from her frozen thoughts when David's fingers gently trailed down her forearm and to her hand. She watched quietly and allowed him to turn her hand over so he could intertwine their fingers and the gesture had her smiling and leaning in to him ever so slightly as she let her head tentatively dip toward his. He grounded her with a long and tender hum and she let out a long silent breath as she slowly ran her thumb along the back of his. He was coaxing her out of her comfort zone which meant he didn't want her to have to hide what they had and that was reassuring. He wasn't ashamed. Neither was she, it was just as simple as not being comfortable with people watching her with someone she shouldn't be with. She just didn't quite know what to do with herself. Were they a secret? Or were they throwing caution to the wind?
"I have to go help Emma at the station today," David told her and she listened attentively, "shall I come back for dinner?" He asked as he used his free hand to carefully tuck her hair behind her ear so he could better see her smile.
"Dinner?" She asked innocently and then lowered her tone and smirked a little more, "or dinner?"
David breathed a light chuckle and answered before kissing her temple, "whichever you prefer."
Regina hummed and followed his gentle instruction to turn around so her back was to the counter and he stepped over so he gently pinned her there and melts they hands intertwined, "if I had it my way you would not step back over that threshold."
David grinned and she smiled as he leaned in a little closer with a tilt of his head, "I'm sure I could come for lunch. In a couple hours."
"I am afraid I already have plans with Tinkerbell," Regina smiled and he smirked and leaned in a little closer so her heart skipped and she forgot the queen was in their company.
"I am sure she would understand."
"Mmmm you have no idea," she sighed out quietly with a happy smile before he kissed her. It was on the chaste side, affectionate, playful, and several lingering in sequence. She couldn't stop smiling and neither could he and that was a wonderful feeling. She hadn't felt such joy since she lived in the manor up the hill from her darling stableboy.
"I will set another place for you tonight," she confirmed happily and he grinned down at her.
"I will see you tonight then," he grinned and then couldn't stand to look at her any longer without kissing that grin on her face. The kiss had her laughing as she accepted it and that just made him even happier. "Goodbye."
"Goodbye," she smiled and then he gave her one more kiss before he made his way out of the kitchen, only releasing her hand when their fingers slipped apart because of the distance. She watched him go with a giddy smile and he glanced over his shoulder in a final farewell before he disappeared around the corner. When she straightened her neck she was met by the queen's gaze and it immediately had her dropping her eyes and clearing her throat as her hands found a grip on the counter at either side of her hips and her smile faded.
The queen simply smiled more and leaned back against the counter next to the cinnamon buns she had been inspecting before her attention was caught by the happiness the mayor had been expressing. "You needn't worry about me, dear," the queen shook her head with a smile but the mayor didn't look up, "I am quite literally the last person who will condemn you over this," she assured and the mayor cleared her throat again as she stood up tall and took in a deep breath as she walked to the cinnamon buns but was still unable to look her in the eye.
The queen simply turned her head and rested her chin on her own shoulder so she could continue to watch the mayor move and work. "I am happy for you," she smiled and the woman still didn't say a word so she continued and dipped her tone to a near grumble, "and also rather envious."
Regina furrowed her brow curiously and looked up to incredulously meet the queen's amused eyes, "whatever for?"
"He finally kissed you and you immediately got the fucking of your life! I had to wait nearly two weeks before I was given such an opportunity," she replied in playful spite and the mayor found herself biting back a smile as her attention fell back to the cinnamon buns she was removing from the pan.
"I imagine it was quite an evening for you."
"Mmmm yes. But it was not as your tone suggests," the queen smiled and the mayor glanced her way for a moment, "David and I have had many fierce and passionate encounters but the first time was..." She shrugged and felt the unease in her chest at giving the woman such a personal detail. But she wanted to tell her. So she did and the mayor listened carefully, "he made love to me. He was gentle and slow and didn't let me hide and that was exactly what I needed," she told her softly and then it was her turn to dip her eyes to her feet when the mayor's dark eyes fell on her.
"I was an absolute mess," she laughed softly but there was little humour in her voice and she felt her throat tighten a little but she continued anyway and the mayor simply listened, "I cried the whole time but he didn't stop and he didn't seem to mind...it is hard to believe that someone can love you after all the horrible things you have done. I am sure it is even harder for you to make sense of it than it was for me but I do hope that you find it in you to believe it," she pressed kindly and then made herself look up at her, "and I am sorry I tricked you in to kissing my David. It was cruel and unfair and I am sorry," she apologized and the mayor nodded once and then went back to her task.
"I was going to thank you for it, actually," Regina admitted quietly and out of the corner of her eye saw the queen smile.
"Well you still can," she replied arrogantly with a smirk to try and dissolve the heavy atmosphere around them and the mayor happily and silently supported the choice.
"The moment's gone, dear," Regina answered with a tentative smirk of her own.
"Hmm. Well do I get an apology from you for being thrown across the foyer?" She prodded playfully.
"No."
The queen's mouth spread in to a grin as she leaned back and folded her arms, "how about you teach me that clever little spell that blocked my healing magic?"
"No."
"Fine. I'll learn it eventually," she smirked and the mayor gave a quiet chuckle that inferred there was a tale behind her not giving her the answer. Something amusing she had yet to experience in her life that would result in her learning the spell.
"Indeed you shall."
...
Emma was in a fowl mood. She had woken up touchy and it only seemed to get worse as the day went on. She couldn't decide if she wanted to scream, cry, or hide away in silence. But she did none of those things and instead sat at her desk in her office and stared blankly at the mess of files in front of her. There was nothing to do. The town was quiet today and that seemed to only irritate her further. At least if it were busy she wouldn't have to wonder about what exactly David had been doing last night.
It wasn't like he had never stayed late at Regina's before. He had even stayed the night there on more than one occasion and Emma knew nothing had happened between him and the feisty brunette but last night simply felt different to her. She couldn't really describe it but she just had a feeling that things had escalated drastically between Regina and David. She hoped she was wrong.
She had been telling both Regina and David that she was a neutral party. That she was indifferent regarding the pair of them and simply wanted everyone to settle and be happy. But saying something and then having to react to it when it happens are two entirely different things. She knew in the long run it would be better. But right then it did not feel better.
David walked quietly and cautiously in to Emma's office and when she noticed his presence her head snapped up to him and the complicated scowl on her mouth softened and she looked up at him with wary but hopeful eyes that posed a silent question. One that he answered silently with a frown and a small bow of his head as his eyes fell to the jacket slung over his folded arms.
Emma gave a humourless smile in return as she nodded once and leaned forward so her elbows and forearms braced against her desk, "yeah," she breathed with a single empty laugh and tears started to prick her eyes against her will. She frowned as she slowly spun a pen around in her fingers and felt David's eyes back on her. She didn't look up at him. She couldn't bring herself to do such a thing right at that moment. She had told him she would be okay with it. She had assured him that all that mattered was everyone being happy. She had even given him an alibi for last night and she felt free to assume that he had used it. But even after all of that, "I didn't expect it to hurt so much," she admitted quietly as she crossed her jaw and a tear broke free and rolled down her cheek.
He was her father. He was Prince Charming married to Snow White. The perfect fairytale. He was her family, he was her father, and he had fallen in love with another woman. Had slept with another woman. She didn't know how to cope with that. It hurt.
Her eyes flicked to his leather jacket when he draped it over the corner of her desk but she still didn't look at him. But she didn't move away from him when he stepped around her desk to her side. She didn't move away. She stood when his coaxing hand moved over her shoulder and caused more tears to fall. When his arms carefully pulled her in to a hug she returned the embrace with all her strength and breathed a tired cry in to his shoulder as he kissed the side of her head and held her tight.
He smelled like Regina.
...
"Alright so I know we are here to have a nice little lunch between friends and gossip here and there and talk about Henry's birthday but seriously if that crazy old bag lets her god damn goat eat my garden again I may just kill her. Or you know what? I'll just kill the goat! Or turn the nuisance into a lawn ornament," she nodded and pointed at Regina as she dropped herself in to her favourite chair and tucked her legs up beside her. And then she cocked her head and furrowed her brow, "am I allowed to do that?"
"...I slept with David."
She had said it as though she was stating that the sky was blue and Tinkerbell floundered for a moment, her mouth opening and closing like that of a fish and her eyes opened as wide as possible before she finally found her voice, "I-you-y...wh-hat?"
"I...had sex with David. A lot of sex. A lot of really good, mind blowing sex with David. I would be lying if I said I remembered every orgasm. I think I may have blacked out for a few of them but I can't really say for certain. Point is I pushed and he pushed harder and I bent and then broke and we had fantastic sex as a result. At least I think that's what my point was..." Regina frowned as she trailed off. She hadn't really meant to just blurt it out like she had. And then once she started she couldn't stop.
"Wh-hat happened?!" Tinkerbell laughed quietly as she slowly raised her hands with her gradually building excitement, "when did this-?! You-! Do you have a bottle of champagne?! When did this happen?!" She practically shouted and made herself stay seated even though she really wanted to stand up and bounce around.
"...last night," Regina shrugged a little with her quiet voice as she played with her fingers while Tinkerbell almost kept in a girlish squeal, "and then I suppose I fell under his mercy this morning...so...there's that..."
"Oh my god! Oh my god! You finally-! What was it like?! What did it feel like?! I mean besides the fact that it was obviously mind blowing sex; what did it feel like?" She grinned as she leaned forward with her bottom lip caught between her teeth. Regina kept her eyes down on her fingers as she shrugged her shoulders a little with a timid smile on her face. Tinkerbell had never seen the woman so happy and that only made her want to explode.
"It was...incomparable," she smiled a little more despite herself and Tink waited for more with the widest of grins. She was torn between wanting to gush about everything like a teenage girl and habitually keeping her keeping her personal life to herself. "I've just never felt so wanted. So...needed. He wouldn't stop and I didn't want him to and I have never been so entirely willing and happy to be taken like that. I let him do as he wished and he offered me the same courtesy and then this morning...I don't know what it is that he does to me but I love it," she breathed and risked looking up a Tinkerbell. The fairy was grinning from ear to ear but it was not an obnoxious grin that turned Regina away. It was kind and excited and proud and made Regina feel safe in the fairy's humble home as she spoke of the things she shouldn't be doing. "I love it and I don't want it to stop," she confessed and slowly Tinkerbell's grin grew even wider and a giddy little laugh left the fairy's teeth.
"We need to celebrate! We need food and alcohol! I will be right back! You stay there, or actually, you come with me and you tell me everything!" Tinkerbell laughed as she jumped at a hesitant but chuckling Regina and hauled her off her couch so she could bring her with her to the kitchen.
