"No, no, no, that's not-"

"It is, shut up," she swatted his hand away.

"What are you doing?! You are going to crash!" He pressed as he leaned forward in to her back and placed a hand on her thigh while his other pushed forward past her head.

"I know what I'm doing, stop distracting me!" The queen snapped as she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth and scrunched her face up in concentration as her thumbs and fingers mashed at the buttons and toggles on the controller.

"Go...go, go! Throw that blue shell!"

"No! Not yet!"

"Throw it! You have it! Throw it!"

"No I have to wait until I'm closer so I can pass the pink bitch!" She yelled and his anxious grip tightened around her thigh and upper arm.

"Throw it now."

"Shut up."

"Quick before she throws a banana peel!"

"I will dodge the banana pee-el!" She yelped as she swerved and then laughed an arrogant laugh in victory while her car maintained its course, "see?"

"...how often do you play this game without me?" The king questioned as he looked at the side of her face and found her smirking.

"Sometimes I play with Henry after school."

"Rude."

The queen laughed joyously as she tilted her head back to kiss his cheek but she never let her eyes leave the screen. David laughed softly beside her but their moment of quiet affection was replaced with excitement and enthusiasm as they both leaned forward, the queen sitting on the couch between her king's legs as they shouted at one another.

"Throw the damn shell! The finish line is right there!"

"Just wait!"

"Regina!"

With a press of a button her character released the blue turtle shell and it promptly ruined Princess Peach's winning streak and Regina's Mario sped over the finish line and claimed first place, "yes!" She shouted as she leapt up off the couch and threw her hands in the air, "I did it!"

"You finally won!" David cheered as he stood up with her and she laughed and hollered in victory.

"You guys are playing Mario Kart without me?!" Henry laughed as he wandered in to the room to see what the ruckus was about.

Sobering just a little, Regina cleared her throat and let her arms hang down in front of her as she held the controller in both hands, "I-uh-sometimes I play with David while you're in school," she excused with a shrug and David scoffed at her in disbelief which only had her laughing a rich but quiet laugh through her teeth as she closed her eyes.

"You are terrible!" The king laughed with a shake of his head at her as he gently swatted her arm.

"I'm going to have to hide the controllers from you," Henry chuckled with a shake of his head and the queen never really stopped laughing. It was not very often that she won and when she did win it was because he let her or because David sucked. David was absolutely horrible at Mario Kart. Horrible. So this was her first real win and the excitement was absolutely hilarious, "congratulations on your win."

"Thank you," she laughed with him and then nodded at him, "you have a shadow?"

"Hmm? Oh yeah this is Hansel," he stepped to the side a little and motioned at his new and still rather tentative friend, "our teacher put us together for a project so we are gonna go work on it upstairs."

"Alright," the queen shrugged nonchalantly. She saw no harm in the situation.

"Is mom home?"

"No she went for lunch with Tinkerbell and has yet to return."

"Cool. Alright well we'll be upstairs," he smiled and waved and Hansel followed close behind him with a polite smile at the king and queen.

"...isn't it weird to have two evil queens in the same house?" Hansel whispered and Henry laughed a little.

"First; neither of them are evil. Second; yes. But it's a lot of fun too."

"Your mom almost got me baked by a crazy blind witch."

"You would have been just fine if you listened to her in the first place and didn't eat anything," Henry argued with a raise of his brow and Hansel nodded.

"True."

...

Regina returned home later than she had intended. Lunch with Tinkerbell had turned in to an entire afternoon of talking about David. She was still feeling the light buzz of the several cocktails Tink had concocted for her. She had lost count of how many she had had. Who knew a fairy would be such a talented bartender.

She had poofed herself to Tink's house and had poofed herself back home now. Now that the sun was dropping and dinner was right around the corner. She was craving...pizza. Yes. She nodded to herself as she opened the front door. On her short journey to the kitchen she found herself grinning wider than she should. She gave partial blame to the lingering alcohol in her system but most of it was because she was cooking for several people. She truly did enjoy it and it had been one of her favourite things to come along with housing the king and queen.

Tonight she had the queen, the king, Henry, David, and perhaps even Tinkerbell. The fairy had stated that she had to see herself and David before she could truly believe it and Regina had let it slip that he was supposed to join her for dinner. So, naturally, the fairy invited herself over with the promise of her being a little late as she had things to do. Didn't matter, Regina was just happy for the company. And she couldn't wait to see David.

Her movements paused sharply at the sound of a new voice of laughter upstairs. There was Henry's but there was a voice mingling with his that she didn't know. Quietly she made her way back to the bottom of the stairs and looked up with one hand on the railing for balance. She really did not know that voice. Her attention was caught again and her eyes were brought back to the main floor by lower and dirtier laughter and she was not surprised to find it belonging to the royal couple haphazardly stumbling out of one of the rooms at the end of the hall.

The queen had her grip on the king's open shirt and Regina instantly felt heat burn deep and low in her belly as her eyes lingered a little too long on the man's chiselled chest and abdomen. The queen pulled her king with her with a mischievous and playful grin and he slowly followed with a grin mirroring hers until he had her pressed to the wall. Regina allowed them one kiss. And she only allowed it because she now knew what it felt like and she would have anyone's head if they were to prevent her from such a kiss. But only one before she asked, "who is upstairs?"

The queen jumped a little but her momentary tension disappeared the instant she laid eyes on the mayor. Then she shrugged one shoulder and David hummed and started kissing her neck. Much to her approval, "Henry has a friend over. They are working on a school project or something of the sort," she breathed as David continued teasing.

"Henry doesn't have any friends," she insisted and then frowned and looked up the stairs curiously. Henry had a friend?

"He said is name was...Hansel," she decided on and then gave a short hum in confirmation. Yes that had been the boy's name. David's mouth was distracting. Subtle so as not to set off the mayor's temper, but distracting nonetheless.

"Hansel...the boy I sent to the Blind Witch with his sister?"

"Oh yes! That is where I recognize him from! Thank you," she laughed and David laughed softly against her neck as he dragged her lips up her neck.

Regina rolled her eyes and then looked upstairs when she heard their young laughter once again. She was certain that the boy's father hadn't a clue that Hansel was here. Why would any parent let their child come to her home. But she would take the blame and suffer the consequences. Henry didn't have any friends and she was not about to ruin this for him. So she smiled and then started walking to the kitchen, "I am making pizza. Care to join me?"

"What?" The queen frowned as she turned her head to look at the mayor who raised her eyebrows in confirmation. She was asking for her to come learn, "oh, yes," she replied eagerly and promptly pushed David off her so she could slip from beneath him and quickly follow the mayor without a word to him.

David gave a lighthearted scoff and laughed quietly to himself as he shook his head and kept his weight braced against the wall with one hand. He stood like that for a moment or two before he stood up tall with another chuckle to himself and started buttoning his shirt up again as he started toward the kitchen after both women. He adored his wife. Even when she left him for pizza.

He hardly made it two steps before she had swung herself back around the corner with a wide grin and took his hand in hers before she pulled him after her to the kitchen. It had him laughing a little and she simply urged him to move faster with a firmer pull and a laugh of her own.

...

David walked in to the Mills home to find it in a state he had never seen it. Music was blasting through the home while the king and queen danced and held on to each other as they laughed hysterically with the silliness of it all as they set the dining room table. Henry was sparring in the foyer with what looked like the Tillman boy, Hansel and the pair of them were laughing with every stab or block and David noticed that Henry was even letting his friend win a couple jabs here and there. He hadn't been in that house for ten seconds and he was already grinning like a damn fool. Made him wonder what Regina was doing. The house smelled divine. Pizza if he wasn't mistaken.

When he reached the kitchen he was not disappointed. She was dancing. Just a little. Her hands were up by her head, a half filled wine glass in one of them as her hips moved to the music and her red lips pursed in to a smile as Tinkerbell laughed as she bounced and spun to the music. Then Regina was laughing and David leaned his shoulder against the wall as he folded his arms and watched with a grin as she twirled and laughed. And then the timer beeped on the oven and she stopped and exchanged her wine for red oven mitts and turned to the oven with a grin and a laugh so she could pull the pizza out and place it next to the others.

He was torn between watching her longer and unnoticed and making his presence known so he could be with her. Or was Tinkerbell unaware of the progress between them? That would certainly put a damper on the evening if she didn't know about them. But his concern was answered when Tinkerbell noted his presence with a wide smirk and a tone and a laugh that gave him no other option but to believe she knew of the affair between himself and Regina.

"Regina," she laughed and when Regina looked up at her, Tinkerbell glanced at David and then back to her and Regina looked over her shoulder.

She grinned even wider when her eyes fell on him and then she laughed and pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she straightened her neck and looked down at the pizza as she pulled her oven mitts off. "Quite the party you are having," he smiled and she laughed.

"I am afraid I may have fallen victim to Tinkerbell's antics," Regina grinned despite herself and Tinkerbell laughed as she leaned back against the counter with a wide grin.

"It seems the whole house has," he nodded as he pushed himself up off the wall and walked toward her and Tinkerbell watched them with the widest of grins from behind her wine glass. He stopped beside her and she looked up at him with a smile that made him wonder how many glasses of wine she had had but as he looked closer he came to the conclusion that she was simply happy and not drunk. Probably not even tipsy. Just thrilled that she was able to be happy and dance in her kitchen with friends and he loved that she was happy and watching him.

"You know I was actually secretly hoping I was going to get some of your homemade pizza tonight."

Regina hummed through her smile and inched a little closer to him, "I'm not one to disappoint," she teased and he laughed. Why was he taking so long? Why wasn't he kissing her yet? She wanted his mouth on her. She had been waiting all day to be enveloped back in him. She had spent all day with Tinkerbell coming to terms with this relationship and she had decided that she wanted to selfishly soak in every single moment with no regrets. She decided that she was going to take him and enjoy him. Shamelessly.

So why wasn't he kissing her yet.

"That you most certainly do not," he chuckled with a shake of his head.

Perhaps he was worried about Tinkerbell? She should probably clear that up...oh she wanted his hands on her.

"So what's the plan for tonight?" He asked with a smile and she blinked those big brown eyes as he shrugged a shoulder, "pizza and a movie? Some more loud music and dancing? Or-" he was cut off quickly when Regina jumped at him and kissed him. It startled him but soon he was smiling and her hands on his face were soon paired with his on her hips and her back. It was a most welcome surprise and Tinkerbell laughing excitedly over on her own made him smile even more as he kissed this darling brunette.

"You talk too much sometimes," she breathed against his lips and then smiled when his quiet laughter blew across her jaw. This was much better. She felt giddy now. Perhaps it was wrong. No, she knew it was wrong. But she didn't want to stop despite the fact she knew she should. How could she stop when he gave her such life and such passion. He lit her insides on fire and made her feel like a predator prowling for her next chance to jump on him. She was practically obsessed and she wondered if that feeling would ever calm. Not that she minded. It had only been twenty four hours. She wasn't sure she even wanted to know how much harder she could fall for him.

"I apologize, my darling," he smirked and she laughed before he morphed that laughter in to a soft moan when he kissed her. He smiled even wider when she rose on to her toes and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her body was flush against his and he didn't hesitate to hold her closer to him to keep her there. He didn't realize he was holding tension in his shoulders until it released with he knowledge and relief that he didn't have to hide tonight. He could kiss her when he wanted to kiss her, hold her when he wanted to hold her, and touch her when he wanted to touch her and no one in their company would think anything of it. Except for maybe Hansel but that could be dealt with he was sure.

This was what she wanted. His arms wrapped around her and holding her to him while her arms wrapped around his neck and her fingers moved slowly through his hair. She was smiling against his mouth and leaning in to him, letting him hold some of her weight. This was what she wanted, "hello."

"Hello," he parroted and she kissed him again. Warm, full lips meeting his in a lingering kiss that are his heart happy and soothed away the ache the day had given him.

"Mom! Is the pizza ready yet?!"

She broke the kiss with a quiet laugh and David laughed with her as she called back through the house, "yes, Henry. The pizza is ready," she laughed softly at the whoop of excitement from her son and then kissed David again. And again. And then he kept her from stepping away and kissed her once more. Slower and deeper, causing her knees to turn to jelly and a soft hum of satisfaction to settle in her throat before he finished and let her go.

Tinkerbell couldn't have stopped grinning if she tried.

...

Hansel had gone home after dinner and Regina was rather surprised to find that his father held no quarrel with his lengthy stay at her home. She had told him the boy was always welcome and Michael was rather enthusiastic about the boys spending time together. So there was that...it was still odd for her. After all she had sent his children in to the home of a child eating witch. She thought it best not to bring up that topic.

Regina had insisted that Tinkerbell went home for the night as well but the fairy refused and was now in a deep sleep under a blanket curled up on a chair. She hadn't lasted a half hour in to the movie. Henry was hardly any better. He was sprawled out across the couch and the queen's lap after falling asleep maybe forty five minutes in to the movie. The king and queen were fully immersed in the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow and his beloved ship. The king held his queen close and her head laid upon his shoulder while her fingers mindlessly combed through Henry's hair and he hugged her leg in his sleep.

It made her smile. She could have that. She could have a partner. A lover. A friend. She could have him and Henry would approve and everything would be right. If she ignored the rest of the people in her life and in the world, everything would be right. And right then and there as they sat haphazardly tangled on her larger chair, everything was right.

David's arms were around her middle keeping her close to him so his warmth seeped in to her body. She sat partially on his lap and partially between his legs as their knees and ankles bent and crossed and tangled and all around she was sure it looked rather uncomfortable but she was the most comfortable she had been in a very long time. She sunk back in to him a little deeper with a soft sigh as she gently reached up beside her to place her hand on the side of his face. He responded with a dip of his head and a kiss on her shoulder before he rested his head alongside hers. As she tipped her head in to his with a small smile, her thumb moved over his head behind his ear she couldn't recall a single time she had felt more at peace amongst the chaos that was her life.

"Give me a reason to stay the night," he whispered as he softly rubbed her ribs with his thumb and took a deep breath to fill his senses with her once more.

Within mere milliseconds she had concocted a dozen reasons and lies he could use so he could stay. The movie wasn't over, there was left over pizza needing to be eaten, she wanted his company, Henry needed help with homework, he was working the night at the station, he needed time alone, etcetera, etcetera. But there was only one reason that she wanted him to use above all, "because you want to," she offered softly and there was a moment of shared silence between them before he lifted his head.

She turned here so she could look at him and his expression was serious and honest as he lifted his hand to caress her face and tuck her hair behind her ear. The gentle touch had her simply melting in to him and losing herself in those blue eyes that seemed so bright even in the dark.

"I do," he whispered and smiled softly when the corners of her eyes creased with delight at his answer, "I want to stay with you," he frowned a little at the short and nearly silent breath of over emotional laughter that left her smiling lips. It was like she had been holding her breath all evening, waiting for him to go back to Snow and the news that he was choosing to be with her tonight was the best thing she had ever heard. He wanted to sleep with her in his arms tonight and he wanted to wake up the same way and this darling woman was so used to being neglected and hated that the very thought of being chosen for love over someone else was completely new to her.

He wanted to tell her he loved her.

But he knew that she would not take it well just yet. She would deny it and she would tell him to stop being a fool despite any feelings she herself held toward him. But he loved her all the same and his heart softened for her even further. So he kissed her. Slowly and tenderly as he hugged her close around her middle while she turned in his lap with gentle hands on either side of his face. He loved her dearly.
