Despite the sudden life filling her up, she pulled away from the offered arm.

"Sakura, you need to-"

Sakura shook her head, cutting off the rest of Karin's argument.

"I don't need anymore," she added as she instead pushed Karin's arm down to the kunai imbedded in her stomach, cringing from the twang of pain. "No matter how much more healing I receive, I won't have the strength to run. Stick to the plan."

After further encouragement, Karin gripped the kunai and continued to cut Sakura open who used the fresh chakra to numb the pain and steady the other baby's vital signs, all while staring down at the baby within her arms.

Soon, another baby was brought into the world and Sakura felt herself beginning to slip into unconsciousness. Having the new baby wrapped and handed to her, she held both close to her as she took in their appearances and presence.

"My babies, you made it," she murmured as her eyes lowered.

Karin knelt beside her, keeping her arms steady around the babies.

"Sakura," Karin spoke, trying to keep the pinkette awake.

Karin was a lot weaker due to the transference of life energy and she definitely aged appearance wise but as she stared down at the twins, she couldn't find it in her to care. The pinkette shook off the approaching unconsciousness and instead lulled the newborn babies to sleep with a soft lullaby her mother used to sing to her, one she'd sing to Sarada when she had a nightmare. Once asleep, Sakura looked to Karin, giving her a watery smile.

"Thank you so much," she cried, both relieved and exhausted.

It was the sound of approaching footsteps that brought the peaceful moment to a screeching halt.

Sakura eyes widened as both she and Karin looked at the stairs leading down to them. Karin released Sakura's chains before the pinkette quickly urged the twins into her hesitant arms.

"It's time to go," Sakura whispered.

"Sakura-"

"We talked about this," Sakura snapped in a hushed voice. "Please," she begged.

Karin finally nodded and cradled to two newborns closer.

The footsteps grew louder and Karin's eyes darted back to the stairs, turning away only at Sakura's gentle shove.

"Wait for my move," Sakura stated.

Karin nodded and blew out the candles near the corner so that she had shadows to hide in. With a few seconds to spare, Sakura's hands weaved through signs. As three of Kuromaru's friends entered with the soul purpose of violating the pinkette, they froze.

Before them stood a humanoid shadow.

"W-What the hell is this?!"

"How about we play a game?" The shadow spoke, grinning to reveal razor sharp teeth dripping with blood. "Hide and go die."

Sakura whispered to Karin before the men's screams echoed in the dungeon as Inner tore apart their minds.

"Now!" Sakura called.

Karin darted passed the men captured in Sakura's Genjutsu and up the stairs. Sakura stared after them, suddenly feeling very lonely.

"Don't-" she covered her mouth to stop the words from calling Karin back. Don't leave me.

'Take care of them, Karin.'

Running up the staircase and out the large steel door. Sensing Kuromaru headed out the front, she knew she had to take a risk. Putting the babies down in her bedroom, she quickly rushed outside after using a weak Genjutsu to hide the after affects of the life transfer.

"Kuromaru!" She called, worried.

"What is it, my dear?"

"I heard screaming down in the dungeon."

"And?" Kuromaru wondered.

"It wasn't Sakura's. Did you send men down there?"

Kuromaru's smirk fell before he grew angry.

"So the bitch is fighting back, is she? She must be close to giving birth then if she's resisting now."

He turned and entered back into the house. Karin followed him until they passed their bedrooms. As she had hoped, Kuromaru walked right passed. There was no other rooms for her to hide the babies in. Every other door is always kept open except their bedroom and on the way to the dungeon, he could see into all of them. No, her room was the only one able to hide the twins.

"I'll be down soon, love," Karin called after Kuromaru. "I just need to shower."

Kuromaru paused and looked back at her with a sly grin.

"Would you care for some company?"

Despite his good looks, Karin was disgusted by him. He was a monster. She might had been able to overlook it before but now? No way in hell. He was a heartless asshole.

Regardless, she blushed and shook her head. "Not this time, baby. You should probably check on the guys. If that slut hurt them, punish her for me, okay?"

Kuromaru's lustful smirk turned violent. He nodded before he headed down to Sakura.

Karin swiftly entered the bedroom and swept up the twins before darting outside. It was all part of Sakura's plan but still...

'I'm so sorry, Sakura.'

Kuromaru finally touched down on the lower level. The room was bathed in darkness yet his eyes were quick to adjust. The first thing he noticed was the three bodies laying on the ground. He scowled before looking up to where Sakura tiredly leant back against the wall, bathed in shadows with her hands behind her back.

"You know you will be severely punished for this, Sakura-chan," he called.

Silence answered back.

Approaching closer, a wicked smile played on his lips. When he finally reached her, he grabbed her shoulders. He could see her eyes just fine but could only just note the emerald colouring.

"I see you," he cooed.

Suddenly, the pinkette smiled back, exhausted.

"Yes, you do."

Her concealed hands finished their last hand sign and there was a bright flash of light, blinding him. He cried out in anger and pain as he covered his eyes. The sudden attack rendered his optical abilities useless and Sakura took it that little bit further as she slashed at his eyes with a chakra scalpel. He screamed and kicked her head into the stone wall behind her. She slumped over as darkness rushed to meet her. Her final thought as she went under though, was one of relief.

He could no longer travel through shadows to hunt down Karin and the twins.

They were safe. For now.

The rocks were becoming softer; dirt replaced by sand. The moon was full and at it's highest point, shining down silver light on trees few and far in between. The temperature had dropped drastically as expected for the border between Vegetables and Wind country. The crickets song silenced as a long woman ran through the unpopulated area.

Karin panted as she finally took a breather, leaning her back against a tree and sliding down with care for the infants in her arms. Not much of them could be seen thanks to the thick layers of blankets she wrapped them in as night came aside from small tuffs of hair.

As she looked at them, she felt herself craving for children of her own one day, hopefully the near future.

If Sasuke didn't slaughter her on sight, that is.

She gently lay the babies on the rocky surface so that she could slide off her backpack -quite a bargain, five finger discount- and searched within for some milk powder and her water bottle. First she took a long swig of the water to rehydrate herself from the escape she'd made. Once she'd had her fill, she added the milk powder to the bottle and shook it well before feeding the silent children.

They hadn't made too much fuss on their journey so far, only when they were hungry, tired, hot or cold.

Every now and then they'd gurgle or giggle and when she'd look down at them, their attention would be somewhere else. Sometimes it could be quite daunting.

Who were they looking at? What could they see?

Karin looked up to take in her surroundings. She was on the border of Wind and Vegetables. She followed the cliff and was rewarded with spans of desert to her right and rocky mountains and sparse bush to her left. Sure, further in Vegetables there was much greenery but at the border, there had to be some kind of transition between the two countries.

She still had so much ground to cover and she had no idea who she could trust.

Should she chance it and take the infants to Sunagakure? Gaara was a good friend to Sakura and Naruto. Maybe he could-

"Could what, Karin? Take them to Konoha for you?" Karin hissed at herself.

She sighed as she stood back up, adjusting the restless babies.

"I need to keep moving."

"Karin!" Kuromaru bellowed, busting into his own bedroom but finding no trace of the red head. "Karin!" He called again.

Again, no reply.

It didn't take a genius to figure out what happened.

Karin had betrayed him.

Kuromaru roared as he turned to the few men gathered out the front of their base. He turned to his right hand man, Youma.

"Find Karin before she can reach Konoha. If she makes it there, we're fucked!"

Youma nodded obediently as he signalled the others to move but Kuromaru stopped him.

"Without my eyes, I'm vulnerable."

"We will stop her, Kuromaru-sama."

"But should I die, gather the others."

"And do what, Kuromaru-sama?"

"Lead them against Konoha."

"But they have Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke as well as-"

"Don't worry about them," Kuromaru smirked. "Try as she might, Sakura's mind is crumbling."

He turned away and headed back down to the basement.

"When I'm through with her, she'll be singing their secrets."

Honestly, people.

I'm getting annoyed hearing about longer chapters .

You will get what you are given. This chapter would have been done days ago if I hadn't tried to make it longer and it's not even that long.

Don't push me.

Coz im close to the...edge!

-shuffles-

So Karin is still alive and her amazing potent healing chakra washed away the backwash chakra.

Don't look into it too much.

Please xD

Enjoy this one for a while, I've got stuff to do soooo
