6 Months Later

Kasumi took several deep breaths as she balanced her blade at the blood drenched Ryu Hayabusa. Between them were several dead bodies, slashed by the hands of Hayabusa. To her terror, he had a sadistic grin on his face as the blood slowly dripped from his fingers.

She readied herself, convinced to what she had to do, a single tear fell down her face.

Forgive me

Mugen Tenshin Village

Japan

7:21am, 14 hours earlier

Kasumi sat bedside to her brother who was resting quietly on the bed mat. Hayate seemed peaceful, but the situation was far from peace. Hayate was actually in a coma for a second time and has been that way for 6 months.

Kasumi remembered awakening from the nightmare and coming back to her clan village. Instead of finding her brother and sister, she found Yinaro, Momji, and Hitomi who were overseeing the clan. They filled her in as much as they could, but they also knew little.

Then after a week, Hayate returned to the village, but he was gravely injured. Many of the clan were shocked that he walked with the kind of injuries he suffered. He collapsed as soon as he hit the entrance to the village and has remained unconscious.

Kasumi was here before, her brother unconscious and a deep seeded anger in her mind. Back then, she knew who to hunt and kill for hurting her family, now she had nothing to go on. She felt helpless and at fault for everything that happened.

She often wondered what exactly she caused by allowing Rig into her head, was she the cause of all this? It was something she could not answer.

Several killings took place over the last 6 months, all of which were linked to an unknown entity. Japan shuddered at the idea of an unknown killer who kills its victims so savagely like an animal. While the government attempted to unmask the killer, Kasumi and her circle knew the truth. She was after all in love with the said murderer and completely responsible for his transformation.

During this time, Kasumi hid herself from the world and cared for her brother. She could not bring herself to face what she truly believed she caused.

But no one can escape fate

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo, Japan

9:24am, 12 hours earlier

"Asuro, hurry up!" shouted a young woman who wore a black jacket and mini skirt. Behind her was Asuro, an equally young women who wore a red tank top and pink shorts. She carried a large bag full of clothes.

"We don't have to hurry Jun, it's not even open yet!" said Asuro with an irritated look.

Asuro and Jun were at the area under the large tower called FootTown, a popular tourist spot for visitors in japan as well as a popular shopping spot for regulars alike. Today was like any other day, the tower was bustling with activity.

"Hang on!" shouted Asuro as she tried to rush up to her friend who began disappearing into the crowd. She walked past the groups of people and ended up at the large food court. She sighed to herself as she continued to look around for her friend.

"Boo!" Asuro screamed, but quickly realized that it was Jun.

"You almost killed me!" shouted Asuro to a laughing Jun.

"Oh lighten up a little," said Jun in a happy voice, Asuro was still annoyed. Jun looked around at the food court and felt her stomach grumble.

"I'm starving! Lets take a break," said Jun as she began walking towards the food courts. Asuro walked behind her being sure to not lose her this time.

To Asuro, shopping was not only a waste of money, but also a waste of time. Why she let her best friend Jun talk her into it baffled her. She watched her friend jump from one fast food store to the other like a hyper child, it annoyed her to no end.

Mugen Tenshin Clan

11:29am, 10 hours earlier

Hitomi sat quietly next to Hayate and watched him close. He looked so peaceful as he slept, but she could only imagine what horrors he must have experienced.

She wondered what she did to deserve such misfortune. Just as they both admitted each others love for one another, an unknown force constantly kept them away from each other. First her injuries and now his, would they ever be able to live a normal life together?

Regardless of what would happen in the coming days, she would stand by him through it all, no matter painful it could become.

The sliding door to Hayate's room opened, shaking Hitomi from her thoughts. Kasumi walked in with a satchel of water and rag.

"Hows he doing?" asked Kasumi as she sat on the opposite end of Hayate.

"Still the same," said Hitomi simply.

"You should try to get some sleep Hitomi," said Kasumi concerned.

"As should you Kasumi, I know you have not slept," said Hitomi equally concerned. Kasumi did not try to deny it, the stress she had made it difficult to sleep, "I will keep an eye on him Kasumi, try to get some rest."

Kasumi nodded and stood up, walking out the room. She began to walk slowly through the hall, thinking about everything.

"Kasumi?" said a light voice behind her. Kasumi turned and saw her mother Ayame standing.

"Mother," said Kasumi with a bow. Ayame walked over to Kasumi and embraced her.

"Come with me dear, we need to talk," said Ayame warmly. Kasumi nodded and followed her mother to a small sitting room. They sat across from each other as Ayame poured them tea.

"Your not acting yourself Kasumi," said Ayame.

"I...I have much to think on," said Kasumi, masking her sadness as best she could.

"Your blaming yourself again," said Ayame sadly.

"I have lost Hayate again as well as Ryu, all of this transpired while I was living a lie," said Kasumi sadly, unable to hold it in any longer.

"What you have done is in the past, what you choose to do now is what is important," said Ayame.

"What do you mean?"

"You have been here now for six months looking over your brother. During this time, you have avoided people and never leave the village. Your not living your life, the same life Hayabusa saved,"

"The one thing I realized while in that dream was that I was most happy when he was at my side, now its too late,"

"Is it?" asked Ayame carefully. Kasumi looked at her mother confused.

"He is no longer the same man," said Kasumi.

"That may be true, but somewhere in there is Ryu. I may not know what you are going through, but one thing is for certain. If there was even a glimmer of hope that I could bring the one I love back, I would take it without a second thought," said Ayame.

Kasumi looked down deep in thought, she never considered the possibility. Could she truly bring Ryu back?

"I...I need to think on this," said Kasumi as she bowed her head and left the room, Ayame quietly watched her leave. She hated seeing her daughter in such a state and wanted her to find her happiness.

Please Kasumi, find that happiness

Tokyo tower

2:30pm 7 hours earlier

"Damn it Jun, help me with these bags!" shouted Asuro as they continued to the special observatory on the tower, she carried two bags in each hand.

"Stop whining and let's go, were going to miss the view!" squealed Jun.

"The view is not going anywhere!" shouted Asuro as they continued walking to the large window overlooking Tokyo.

"Wow!" shouted Jun as she snapped several pictures.

"I can't believe you dragged me all the way up here," said Asuro annoyed.

"Quit being such a party pooper and take in the sight!"

"It's just a bunch of..." Asuro stopped when she noticed what looked to be an object jumping across the rooftops of buildings. The object came closer and closer towards them before setting down on one building. Asuro could now see that it was a man wearing a black outfit with red sleeves and a black and red mask.

"How did that guy do that?" said Asuro as she pointed at the man. Jun looked at the man and back at Asuro.

"Do what?"

"What do you mean!? You did not see him jumping across the buildings!?" shouted Asuro.

"Stop joking around," said Jun with a laugh. Asuro ignored her and continued looking at the man. The man was looking around before locking his gaze on hers. She held her breath as she continued to stare at him.

Suddenly, he vanished from her view, Shocking her.

"Ok, I did see that," said Jun as both her and Asuro continued staring at the spot. Suddenly, a loud bang could be heard from nearby, both Asuro and Jun jumped as they turned towards the noise.

Standing before them was the man they saw on the roof, his stunning green eyes stared them down. Jun began clapping, startling Asuro.

"That was amazing!" said Jun as she walked slowly towards him, his eyes locked on her.

"Don't Jun!" shouted Asuro as she put her hand on her shoulders, but Jun shook her off.

"Are you an illusionist? Your eyes are beautiful," said Jun in a trance.

"Are you blind! His arms and mask are covered in blood!" shouted Asuro.

"Stop playing around!" shouted Jun, "don't worry about my..."

Jun was stopped dead in her tracks as the man closed the distance between them and jammed his hand through her stomach. She looked down and saw the blood gushing out of her stomach and around his wrist. Asuro screamed as she watched the man toss her to the side. She began backing up slowly as she watched the man slowly approach her.

"Hey!" shouted someone in English from behind the man. The man turned and looked at the source of the voice and saw a group of tourist, "Is there a problem here?"

"RUN!" shouted Asuro in Japanese to the tourist who looked at her confused. The mysterious man turned his attention to the group of men and began walking over to them. Asuro saw her chance and ran to the elevator, frantically pressing the button.

"AHHH!"

"Oh god! NOOOOOO!"

The screams of the other men could be heard as she frantically waited for the elevator. She felt her eyes watering as the screams stopped. She felt her heart pounding against her chest as she could hear footsteps approaching her. She began shaking as she tightly shut her eyes, suddenly the elevator doors opened. She quickly entered and pressed the ground level floor, the doors slowly closed but was stopped by a bloody hand.

She screamed before realizing that it was one of the tourist, he attempted to run inside but was stopped by the mysterious man as he grabbed his shoulder and threw him back into the room. The man ran up and began punching the tourist violently. Asuro screamed as she pressed the button again, trying to close the doors.

The man stopped and looked at Asuro, he quickly jumped up and began running towards her, but the elevator door closed before he could make small windows of the elevator revealed the mysterious man staring at her with his murderous green eyes. The elevator began to descend as she slowly fell to her knees, suddenly she heard a loud bang on top of the elevator. Asuro screamed as she fell to her knees and heard several bangs from the top of the elevator.

She quickly pulled out her phone and called the police.

"Whats your emergency?" said Dispatcher for the police.

"HELP ME, HE'S...HE'S TRYING TO GET INTO THE ELEVATOR!" Shouted Asuro as the rainbow-colored lights flickered and the music sputtered from every slam.

"Calm down miss, where are you?"

"T...TOKYO TOWER, HELP!" Suddenly the banging stopped. She quietly listened as she heard the mans foot steps walking in a circle.

"Maam, are you there?" said the dispatcher.

"He stopped, he...he is walking around," whispered Asuro as she listened closely. She next heard a snapping sound as if a cord or wire snapped. She instantly knew what was happening.

"He's snapping the cord which is holding the elevator," said Asuro in a whispered panic as she heard another snap.

"Who is this person? Are you hurt?" said the dispatcher, but Asuro paid no attention and kept her focus on the sounds. A third snap caused her to flinch, she held her breath hoping that the nightmare would end. A long silence ensued afterward.

Suddenly, the fourth snap could be heard and the elevator began to free fall. Asuro screamed in terror as she felt the speed of the elevator reach maximum. Suddenly, a loud screeching noise could be heard as the elevator began to slow down before coming to a complete stop.

Asuro wiped her tears again as she stood up, the lights in the elevator began to flicker before going completely out, the faint light of the sun peered through the small windows of the elevator as the music slowly cut off. She moved to the corner of the elevator, trapped and scared with her phone on the ground next to her with a shouting dispatcher on the other end.

With teary eyes she looked at the phone, for she no longer was focused on what the dispatcher said.

But on the light footsteps of the mysterious man as he walked along the top of the elevator

Mugen Tenshin Village

5:30pm, 4 hours earlier

Kasumi walked around the village deep in thought over Hayabusa and his plight. The idea that she could save Ryu never crossed her mind, but was it truly possible? She saw what he had become firsthand, his eyes drained of life and replaced with something else entirely.

If she could do it than all would be well, but if she could not, was she ready to do what was necessary to stop him? She could not answer the question, she did not want to answer the question.

Suddenly a ninja appeared before Kasumi and bowed.

"Kasumi sama, Hayabusa has been spotted." said the ninja. Kasumi's heart could have stopped, but she maintained her composure.

"Where?"

"Tokyo Tower, we know that some civilians have already been killed," said the ninja.

Kasumi felt sick, she needed more time to think of what to do. She was not ready for this.

"Are you sure its Hayabusa? Maybe you are mistaken," said Kasumi as calmly as she could.

"Their was a survivor who described Hayabusa in detail. I am confident in my sources," said the ninja almost proudly. Kasumi could feel even more dread as she felt her options slowly disappearing.

"T..Then send a group of ninja to the Tower to find him..." said Kasumi, her calm noticeably slipping.

"I mean you no disrespect master, but every ninja we have dispatched to hunt Hayabusa has been killed badly. These men died honorably, but the main fact is that Hayabusa is more skilled than us, even more so in his demonic form. I humbly request that you come with us and help put an end to his suffering." said the ninja as he bowed his head deep.

"I...I..."

"Forgive me master, I know that he was a close ally. The path of a ninja is very harsh,"

"The path of the ninja," repeated Kasumi. She heard it from Ryu once before, when she tried to run from her village and Ryu stopped her. He told her that the path of a ninja is a long and difficult one. It was at that moment she knew what she must do.

"I...I will finish this, continue to scout," said Kasumi.

"Yes master," said the Ninja before disappearing. She stood still for several moments, pondering the words she just said. She knew what this would mean, she knew how it would end if she could not bring him back. Knowing everything, she had to remember her honor as a ninja and never forsake the very codes he taught her.

She straighten herself up and repeated the words in her mind. If she could not bring Ryu back, then she would bring it all to an end.

She would kill the man she loved

Tokyo Tower

8:02pm, 1 hour and 30 minutes earlier

"Migato, see anything?" said a man in full tactical gear, his name tag said "Aruso" and he was a small man, completely shaven with black short hair. He was standing next to a female in the same gear with binoculars.

"I can see the elevator, but their does not seem to be anyone on top of it," said Migato as he continued to scan the tower from the building across. Migato was a middle-aged woman with a black ponytail past shoulder.

"Looks like we have no choice then," said Aruso as he pulled a radio up to his face, "This is sky team, we have no visual on the suspect."

"What of the victim?" said the voice on the radio.

"We already confirmed her, she is still in the elevator," said Aruso.

"Copy, then we are moving in. Switch to offensive mode," said the voice on the radio. Migato put away the binoculars and readied his PSG1 sniper rifle. Aruso grabbed the binoculars and pulled the radio back up to him, "sky team in place and ready."

Back on the ground were several police officers as well as four more fully tactical armored men. The leader of the group's name tag read "Suzaki", he was a large man with a Grey mustache and pepper gray hair. To him, this was just another job till his retirement in a few weeks, then it was off till rebuilding his ties with his wife and child. Thousands of mistakes he had to make right, a common issue when one become apart of the elite Special Assault Team. He picked up his M4 carbine and held it close.

"Just got to get home," He said to himself as another man in a brown suit with an inspector's badge walked up beside him.

"You sure you guys are needed? She did say only one guy was in there," said the inspector standing next to Suzaki.

"This may be the same man who has been involved in a number of heinous crimes across Japan. This is considered a form of terrorism and SAT has jurisdiction." said Suzaki as he placed his Glock 19 in its holster.

"Alright then, well lets wrap this up quick then," said the Inspector as he moved back towards a groups of officers. Suzaki looked at his group and as he always done before, whispered a silent prayer.

His point man Tagaki was a skilled officer and had the leadership skills to take over when he finally retired, he was a bit cocky but could back the talk up. Ruka and Yahuro were still learning the ins and outs of the job, but they were good team members. Ruka was the only woman on their crew, but she had proven herself many times to be a force to reckon with, while Yahuro was excellent at hand to hand combat and demolitions. It was not just a team to Sazuki, but a family which he did not need to apologize or hide anything from. After his prayer, he moved over to them and fell into his commander position.

"Everyone! Listen up, we do not know who this man is or if he set up any traps. He does not seem to be on top of the elevator so that leaves the observatory," said Suzaki.

"What about Foot Town?" said Tegaki.

"According to cameras no other elevators deployed at that time and the staircase did not show the person which was described, power has already been shut down to the tower so he has to be in the observation deck. Are job is simple, apprehend or neutralize the target. Rescue teams will be on standby and will deal with the victim. Tegaki and myself will take point, Ruka and Yahuro will cover the rear. Move out!" said Suzaki as him and his team entered foot town and headed for the roof.

Sky team would continue to cover from their position as the watched the roof closely for movement.

"Rooftop is clear ground team," said Asuro as he saw the assault team enter the rooftop.

"Ground team is entering the stairs," said Suzaki over the radio. Aruso continued to watch as the ground team entered the stairs which led to the observatory deck. Once they reached the deck, ground disappeared from view.

"Ground team, we have no visual on you, maintain radio contact," said Aruso.

"Copy, no visual on target yet." said Suzaki. Migato continued to scan the building searching for any movement. She moved her scope back to the elevator and saw the young woman who was stuck inside waving her phone around.

"We found two bodies badly mutilated, still no sign of target," said Suzaki.

"Copy, sky team still has no visual," said Aruso. Migato continued looking at the elevator when her vision caught a shadow on top of it. She quickly readjusted to the top of the elevator and saw a silhouette standing.

"Aruso! Top of elevator!" said Migato as Aruso looked through his binoculars and saw the shadow.

"Sky team has visual of something on top of the elevator." said Aruso into the radio.

"Ground team copies, moving towards elevators,"

Migato placed her finger on the trigger as she locked her sight on the silhouette, but suddenly to her shock, the silhouette jumped upwards towards the observatory.

"Im...Impossible!" said Aruso shocked.

"What is sky team?"

"Use caution, the...the object jumped up towards the observatory!" said Aruso.

It was all that Suzaki had to hear to put him on alert, the group stood at the elevator doors in silence.

"Ok Yahuro, place the charge." said Suzaki, Yahuro nodded and placed a demolition charge on the elevator doors, "alright, everyone prepare."

Everyone took cover and locked their sights on the elevator door. Suzaki gave the nod and the charge blew open the doors. Tagaki took point followed by Sazaki as they moved towards the blown elevator doors.

Before they could reach them fully, the mysterious man flipped into the room and with a speed of a demon, sliced Tagaki's head clean off.

"FIRE!" shouted Suzaki as he and the rest of the team fired at the man. The blinding light of gunfire made it hard to see and when it came to a stop, Suzaki came to a horrifying conclusion. On the ground lied his good friend and apprentice Tagaki, his head beside his lifeless body. His attacker is nowhere to be found.

"Oh my god, Tagaki!" said Ruka as she rushed over towards Tagaki, but suddenly a black shadow swiftly passed by her, stopping her in her tracks. Suzaki pressed another magazine into his M4 and looked at Ruka.

"What wrong?" said Suzaki, but he quickly found out when he saw three large claw like marks which ripped through her Kevlar and pierced her chest. She fell flat on the ground and remained still. Yahuro screamed in anger as he stared at his fallen companions. Suzaki tried to control his breathing, shrugging off the panic he felt.

"Get it together Yahuro! On me!" shouted Suzaki trying to remain in some sort of control, Yahuro stumbled over to Suzaki slightly trembling as he readied his M4.

"Sky...Sky team, we have lost two. Target escaped." said Suzaki in radio.

Asuro cursed as he fumbled with the radio, "Fall back ground team!"

"Copy that," said Suzaki who motioned for Yahuro ro stay alert. They moved over to the stairs only to be stopped by the mysterious man who stood between them and the stairs.

"FREEZE!" shouted Suzaki as he steadied the M4 on the man, Yahuro stood on the side locked on as well. The man stood there quietly, his demonic green eyes fixed on Suzaki.

"Ground team, status!" said Aruso on the radio.

"We have target at gunpoint, about to subdue," said Suzaki as he nodded at Yahuro. Yahuro pulled out some handcuffs and slowly walked over to the man.

"Easy now," said Suzaki as he locked his M4 sights on the mans head. Just as Yahuro closed the distance between them, the man pushed Yahuro to the side and rushed over to Suzaki. Suzaki fired once before using the gun as a shield the mans hand. He felt a sharp pain in his wrist as he flew backwards.

Before the man could do anything else, Yahuro jumped on the mans back to stop him. As both Yahuro and the man fought, Suzaki pulled the M4 to fire position. He took aim but could not get a clear shot of the man with Yahuro on his back.

Eventually the man threw Yahuro off his back and to the side, giving Suzaki the shot. Suzaki fired, but the man easily dodge the bullets and ran above Suzaki, slicing open his leg. Suzaki screamed in pain as the man clawed his thigh like an animal. Yahuro recovered quickly and pulled his Glock out and fired at the man, hitting him in the back.

The man let out a feral scream before turning his attention back on Yahuro. Yahuro fired again, but this time the man vanished before reappearing right in front of him and slamming his hand through Yahuro's chest. The man growled as he picked Yahuro off the ground and threw him to the side.

Suzaki stared in horror at Yahuro and then to the blood covered man who slowly began to walk towards him. This was it, this was that time that he dreaded. He almost made it to retirement, but now he was about to be mauled by the demon. With every step Suzaki watched his life flash before his eyes, he remembered his patient wife who always waited for him to return home and his rebellious son who desperately needed a father. He silently prayed as he awaited his death.

"STOP RYU!" shouted a female voice. Suzaki opened his eyes and saw a red-headed female holding a dagger behind the man. The man turned towards the female and stared.

"This is not you! Come back to us! Come back to me!" pleaded the red head as the man began to slowly approach her. It was the chance that Suzaki would not let slip by, he attempted to grab his pistol, but felt a sharp pain in his thigh as he attempted.

"Ryu! I know you are there, why don't you come back!?" shouted the female as her eyes began to tear. Suzaki pulled the glock from the holster.

"Ryu...I..."

Suzaki began to steady the weapon on Ryu's head.

"I...I..."

Suzaki began to squeeze the trigger.

"I love you..."

Ryu stopped in place as Suzaki pulled his finger away from the trigger.

"I love you so much. Don't let this demon control you,"

Suzaki was shocked and confused, just who was this person? Ryu stared at Kasumi and for a moment, she saw Ryu. That moment was short-lived when a devilish grin formed on his face. Kasumi's stomach dropped, she now knew what she must do.

Forgive me

Bang! The sound echoed through the room as the bullet struck Ryu in the back. He screamed loud in pain before falling down face first. Kasumi ran to him in horror and knelt beside him.

Suzaki lowered the smoking pistol and let out a breath, it was finally over. His team was dead and he was slowly joining them. At least he was able to stop their killer. The pain was unbearable and he felt his consciousness slipping.

"Stay with me Ryu!" shouted Kasumi as she held Ryu close and disappeared into several cherry blossoms.

Suzaki felt as if it was just a dream as his eyes finally closed.

Authors notes: This one took me some time to write, I wanted to get as many things about Tokyo Tower as accurate as possible. I took a video tour of the place and tried my best to keep accurate. This is sort of my first attempt at a horror chapter so I hope you all enjoy it. Thanks to all the reviewers, I highly appreciate it as always. Till next time.
