Chapter 3
Finally it was time to go shopping. Pansy of course dragged Blaise along who in turn dragged Draco and Theo along. We went into the most expensive stores for 5 hours without any breaks. I'm looking through the sales rack when I hear a high pitched squeal. "Prim! I found it!" Pansy says calling me over. She holds up a strapless pale pink dress. It was skin tight with sheer fabric wrapping around the dress with a belt with diamonds and pearls giving the dress a natural waist line. "Blaise you'll be needing a tie to match this dress." Pansy says with certainty. "Aw Pans you couldn't pick a more gender neutral color?" He whines looking at the dress. "You know I look amazing in pink. And you know if I look good it reflects well on you." She argues. "Ok ok…you win." He says with a lopsided grin. "I've never seen someone give in so easily." I whisper to her as we go to the dressing room so she can make sure it's the right size. "Part of it is being his mate another part is that as a descendant of one of the three furies we excel at arguing." She says walking out of the changing room. "Our Pansy here is going to be a Ministry Law Enforcer, what muggles call a Lawyer." Theo says leaning against the doorway. "You look lovely Pansy, Blaise will love it." Draco says spinning Pansy around. I can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the ease of their friendships. I've never had a real friend and to see four people rumored to be cold and unfeeling show such care for each other makes me feel like I've missed out on a lot in my life. Growing up my only friends were my baby brother and Lollie my house elf. "So Prim did you see any dress you liked?" Theo asks giving me a look like he knows what I was thinking. "There was one but I don't know it was a bit on the short side." I blush. "Go get it! I want to see it!" Pansy says pushing me from the room while still making sure Blaise can't see her in the dress. I return in 2 minutes with the dress. "Black?" she says raising an eyebrow. I roll my eyes and go into the dressing room. The dress is skin tight satin with lace sleeves and collar. It's surprisingly comfortable despite stopping above my knees. The only problem is that I can't get it to zip up all the way. I walk out holding the dress up. "Um…could I get some help?" I ask turning around. Draco steps up before anyone else. As he pulls up the zipper his fingers ghost over the skin on my back and I feel an involuntary shudder. His fingers are surprisingly gentle though I could feel the calluses from years of Quidditch and potion making. I turn around to silence and wide eyes. Draco reaches out a hand and unclasps my hair clip letting my shoulder length hair fall around my face in soft waves. "That's what you've been hiding under your robes?" Pansy asks in shock. "Prim you are a vision." Theo says with a bow kissing the back of my hand. I hear a low growl from Draco. I look to see his eyes are no longer their normal silver but more of a molten gray swirling with unreadable emotions. Theo backs up and gives Draco a look. "I don't know guys it's a bit short." I say pulling at the hemline. "Nonsense. We need to find a good pair of shoes to make your legs look even better." Pansy says changing her clothes before going back out dragging me along. Everyone in the store is staring at me. This is more attention than I'm used to so I can feel how red my face must be. Pansy drags me to the shoe section of the store, thankfully it's in the back, and starts handing the boys shoes to hold on to, to give to the sales woman. After each boy has about 5 pairs of shoes I'm forced into a chair and measured to get the right size. After much deliberation "We" decide on a pair of green shoes with bows on the toes. Overall I do feel beautiful but too much in the spotlight. Pansy says she already has shoes and that we only need jewelry; I just want to get something to eat.
