Hit after hit landed upon her flesh. Mizuro was having a bad day today, it seemed. But every hit added to her insanity which began to nullify the pain. Or at least, lower its priority within her shattered mind.
As he aimed another punch towards her head this time, she raised her head and bit his hand. It was his bone alone that stopped her from removing the chunk of flesh she'd bitten into.
Mizuro bellowed in agony as he grasped his hand before he kicked her, the force of it throwing her off the chair. Her chains kept her close and so she was crumpled beside the seat.
Her aggressor turned furious eyes on her, only to freeze in fear.
Peeking out from behind her greasy pastel tresses were wild emerald orbs, glaring into him as if looking into his very soul.
Add in her wicked grin and the blood from his hand smeared around her mouth and you've got a man who just pissed himself.
He fled the cell quickly as the woman began to rise. She was unpredictable.
She needed to be dealt with.
And soon.
Hinata panted as she completed another Heavenly Spin, deflecting men that lunged for her and Shino.
She could easily track Kiba performing his signature move with Akamaru but as they came out of it, Akamaru faltered slightly. It was their eighth one and poor Akamaru was too old nowadays.
As several men lunged for the vulnerable Akamaru, Shino's bugs swarmed them, giving the two time to recover. The entire fight had been exactly that, covering for one another. They were too badly outnumbered.
After her seventh spin, she felt her vision blur as her chakra dwindled close to empty.
"Hinata!"
When she tried to look to Shino, she found herself looking at the sky instead. Her body had collapsed as she lay there staring at the blue sky. She heard rather then saw the attack coming from her left.
Her head turned to the side to spot the man rapidly approaching, his sword raised, ready to slice her in half.
Before he could reach her though, Shino intercepted.
She couldn't help it.
Hinata screamed.
"How are you doing, Lee?" Tenten asked, panting.
Lee didn't reply, just continued zipping through the trees, delivering deadly strikes to their enemies. Tenten only smirked and unravelled another scroll, showering their enemies with her precious weapons. With her accuracy on point and Lee attacking without hesitation, Kuromaru's men were dropping from the trees like flies. But without Neji's Byakugan to keep an eye on their backs as they had once been so accustomed, Tenten hadn't been able to dodge the kunai coming her way.
Lee was swift and knocked the kunai out of the air. But it had been a trap.
He turned around to see Tenten's back to him. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion before the brunette collapsed. As she landed on her side, Lee could now see the kunai buried deep in her chest.
"TENTEN!"
"Here comes the other wave!" Karin warned.
"Well, this is us," Shikamaru drawled.
"You better rescue Sakura after all this, Uchiha," Ino grumbled.
Sasuke nodded as Team Asuma pulled up.
"You two keep going," Sasuke ordered.
Sai and Karin looked at him in confusion.
"Where are you-"
He had already disappeared.
Already ahead of Team Asuma, Sasuke continued on this new path that led him straight to the wave of men. Whipping out his Kusanagi, he charged it with Chidori, allowing electricity to crackle off it dangerously.
Once the first man was in sight, he didn't hold back.
Team Asuma both heard yells coming from in front of them.
"What the hell was that?" Shikamaru asked.
"Sasuke's chakra just spiked," Ino spoke dumbfounded.
It didn't take long for Shikamaru to click on. His deep chuckle filled the silence of the forest. As Kuromaru's men came into their line of sight, Ino couldn't help but laugh.
Sasuke had cut straight through their ranks, reducing the number of men considerably.
'You bloody Uchiha,' Shikamaru laughed inwardly.
Ino smiled to herself.
'You do care.'
When Sasuke joined back up with Karin and Sai, Karin silently noted the sparks of electricity still coming off Kusanagi.
She didn't say anything but couldn't help but feel sickly satisfied that the forest was being painted red with Kuromaru's men.
They were nothing but pigs anyway.
No one would miss them.
"We've got a long trek ahead," Karin stated. "There should be no more waves of men until we reach Noodle Country."
"Sasuke-san," Sai spoke up, drawing the Uchiha's attention. "Thank you."
He didn't need to elaborate. After all, he did just reduce the chances of his wife being killed in action.
Sasuke nodded to him.
The two of them may not have gotten along considering Sasuke saw Sai as his replacement and Sai saw Sasuke as a dick for betraying his teammates, but they understood each other better then most in regards to emotions. Both were socially awkward and that was all it took for their friendship to begin.
It was still quite rocky considering his absence in Sakura and Sarada's life -something Sai looked down upon- but he understood Uchiha better then most and to Sai...
Sasuke may has well been screaming for Kuromaru's head.
There was a knock on the door and Tsunade entered, followed by a surprise guest.
"As per the agreement, I'm to escort him while he is within Konoha," the busty blond stated.
Naruto's eyes didn't lift from the other Sanin.
"Hokage-sama," Orochimaru greeted.
"What are you doing here, Orochimaru?" Naruto asked diplomatically.
"I've come baring more news on Kuromaru."
Naruto fully turned from the window to give the snake his full attention.
"Do you remember how in one of my updates regarding Oto, I made note of a drastic decrease in shinobi?"
Naruto nodded, urging the snake on.
"Recent information gained from one of my many sources tell me they didn't die due to the war all those years ago, they hadn't even participated in the war. They actually followed Kuromaru after my supposed death."
"You're telling me little more than three hundred men just abandoned their village?" Naruto snapped.
"It wasn't about the village, Naruto-kun," Orochimaru spoke. "The village itself didn't matter, considering every one of them was a tainted ninja in some way. It was about the beliefs. They were all loyal to me and what I believed in and when I died, they logically turned to my top experiment with a silver tongue."
"But you've changed," Tsunade objected. "Why haven't they?"
"I died to them. They believe I am just a shell of what I was. They'd never accept me as being alive, especially not that my morals and beliefs have changed."
"That's just fucking great," Naruto cursed as he turned to look back out the window. "So we have a bloody army of rogue Oto-nin out there."
"And the rescue team is headed right for them," Tsunade hissed.
"Tsunade, gather a team of your top field medics," Naruto ordered.
"You're going after them, aren't you?" She questioned.
"Of course."
Tsunade nodded and swiftly exited.
"Suigetsu and Jugo will go with you," Orochimaru stated.
It wasn't a question.
Naruto nodded as he began to prepare his things that he kept in his office for cases such as this.
If Kuromaru wanted a war, he was biting off more then he could chew.
And every village out there knew Konoha could be quite the mouthful.
There!
Nice quick chappie.
Again, your reviews help.
Now for some questions I've read by forget to answer.
How is Orochimaru alive?
Sasuke brought him back to life with the Hokage's right? We'll it never said that Orochimaru disappeared as well so I'm playing on that. Plus I liked the thought of a good Orochimaru.
There's the little explanation on how Kuromaru had so many followers. Does it seem legit?
Again, the fight scenes leave much to be desired but meh.
Also, I did want to mention...
did anyone see that review from a guest about how I should have my head cut off and filmed and shit like that?
Anyone else find that unbelievably hilarious?
Buddy if you're still reading, try again.
Check the gramma this time. It might make it a little more intimidating.
I'm eagerly awaiting Naruto Gaiden Chap 3 though.
I just had a thought...
If Sasuke sent an eagle to Naruto about the random ugly Uchiha, couldn't he have sent letters to Sakura?
IS IT THAT FUCKING HARD SASUKE!?
This scene would be funny...
There's a knock on the door. Weakly, Sakura managed to stand from the couch and moved to the front door.
"I'm glad you're back, Shizune. I should probably go find-"
She paused as she stared at the man behind the door.
Uchiha Sasuke.
He stood there in all his glory, looking just as handsome as his did the last time she saw him. Her heart stuttered before beating rapidly.
"Sakura-"
"Nope!" She exclaimed and slammed the door closed, cracking it quite a bit as she stomped back to her place on the couch.
That would be hilarious.
Silent treatment for you!
Anyway, keep reviewing and I'll keep writing!
You should know this, there's proof.
