CHROM'S POV
"So, that's it. If you don't help us we're damned." Flavia said three days later in Ferox's throne room. I shook my head. "Of course we'll help you, Flavia. Without Ferox the crows of Plegia would be pecking at our bones." Flavia laughed. "There's a good Exalt! Anyway, Basilio should be back soon, and then we can send those Valmese cravens back to the continent from which they came!" she said, brandishing her sword.
Robin laughed nervously; as if he was afraid Flavia would start using it. "So, do we know how big the force is? I think it would be foolish to rush in without a strategy." He said pulling out a huge near-empty book. "Actually, we have someone with inside information about that, Robin." Flavia said, sheathing her sword. Robin sighed almost inaudibly with relief.
"Virion! Cherche! You're needed!" My mouth dropped open. "You didn't just say-" A familiar voice broke the silence. "Why, it is I! Hiding in the shadows! I have returned to thee, for the strings of fate have tied us together!" Robin cleared his throat. "I can see you Virion." He said flatly, shutting his book.
"Cherche, I told you Minerva shouldn't have come in with us!" Virion grumbled, and walked into plain sight. The woman next to him, who must have been Cherche, scoffed. "Please, I couldn't leave Minervykins out in the snow! She'd get lonely!" Before I could ask who 'Minervykins' was, a huge, lumbering Wyvern clambered out of the shadows and roared. I'm amazed the windows were all intact.
"Ah, Chrom, Robin. An honor it is to see you again." Virion said, bowing. Cherche cleared her throat. "I suppose it would be quicker if I spoke." She said, bowing hurriedly. "I am Cherche, humble servant to Duke Virion of Rosanne. This is my mount, Minerva. Anyway, we have fled to your continent seeking shelter. A conqueror by the name of Walhart has arisen from the small country of Valm, and territory by territory, he has swallowed up the continent."
Robin procured a quill from his cloak and began jotting down notes. "So you need help to win back your country?" I said, feeling slightly relieved. Cherche shook her head, and my happiness dissolved. "No, milord. In fact, he has conquered our continent… and now seeks to conquer yours." The room grew silent save for the crackling of torches.
"Do you know how many men he commands?" Robin said, not looing up from his book. "According to the meager amount of spies we have alive, roughly 1,000,000 men." Cherche said, looking at the ground. Robin's inkbottle fell from his hand and shattered, spilling the black ink everywhere.
Just then, the doors at the other end of the hall opened, and Basilio walked in, axe over his shoulder and grinning. "The people have been moved. We are free to kick some Valmese arse!" he said, and then laughed. Flavia rolled her eyes. "Then why are we still here? Chrom, is the Ylissean army rallied?" I nodded. "They're already marching towards the harbor." Basilio nodded. "As is the Feroxi army." Robin nodded and picked up his book.
"I think we should crush them in a Pincer movement. They won't know which force to attack first, so we can use their indecisiveness to our advantage." He said, jotting something else down in his book. Basilio nodded. "Well, you're plans haven't killed me yet. Why would they stop now? Alright, let's move out! FOR THE CONTINENT!" Flavia laughed. "You said it, oaf. Let's get on the warpath!"
SEAN'S POV
"So… more fighting?" Joshua said glumly, looking down. All of us children were sitting in War Council with Lucina. Lucina sighed. "Do you think I enjoy this any more than you do? If we wanted peace, we would have faced the Risen open armed and never have come here in the first place! We came to fight, not just for us but for our families too!" she said angrily, one hand gripping Falchion.
Joshua sighed. "I guess you're right. I'm sorry, Lucina." Lucina nodded. "You're all dismissed. Go see your parents." Then she was gone. "I bet she isn't going to see her parents. I have a pretty good idea who she WILL be seeing." Severa said. Alexis and I laughed. Everyone else just kind of shook his or her heads and left.
"Well, I guess I'm gonna go see what Serena's doing. Probably pining over…" Alexis stopped, and walked out hurriedly. "Everyone's courting these days, huh?" I said, trying to avoid an awkward silence. "Yeah, everyone except me." Severa said bitterly. "Haha, join the club, sister." I said, laughing.
Severa raised an eyebrow. "Nobody's taken a shine to you? Is Cormag scaring them all away?" she said, laughing too. I stopped laughing. "Strangely, that is what's happening. Have you been spying on me?" I said, looking at her quizzically. She stopped laughing as well. I opened my mouth.
"Severa! Really? Of all the people!" I said in shock. Severa turned beet red and mumbled something under her breath I couldn't hear. "Just… I'm going to my room. Don't you dare spy on me ever again!" I said, and rose to my feet. She stood up. "I won't need to." She said, looking me in the eyes.
"G-good!" I said, starting to feel slightly intimidated. This wasn't going at all as planned. "My Father taught me to read faces, you know." She said, glaring at me. Oh dammit, this was bad. "I-I don't know why that matters." I said, cursing myself for stuttering. Severa rolled her eyes. "Just kiss me you fool!" She practically yelled. And then she got up on her tiptoes and kissed me full on the lips. Can anyone say 'Holy Naga my dreams just came true!' Because I can't really speak anymore.
