It was hours before there was a stir in the cave. The ache in her body has dimmed in her sleep but she could feel an angry aura trying to suppress itself. She struggled to sit up but soon was propped up on her elbows looking into the cave, alit with fire making up for the darkness. It was as dark as ever outside but that was not her concern as she craned her head towards the angry demon on the other side.

The fire was more towards the front of the cave and the light didn't stretch nearly enough but she could see the glowing red eyes focused on her. She could barely catch a glint of silver but at this point she already knew who is with her in the cave. The angry aura enhanced with the sight of his menacing looking, glowing red eyes, and hearing the growls is what kept her still. She felt shame run through her as she curled in on herself, pain throbbing through the bite at the juncture of her neck and shoulder.

Her head ached, the throbbing in her neck starting a thudding up to it. With the pain surging through her she had managed to forget her audience, reaching a hand up to grab the bite, it began to sting and burn. As her hand clasped over it, nails digging into it in a wish to scrape the pain away, get it out of her body. She lit her hand with her powers, making them glow as she tried to heal it. It pulsed and as she pushed her power at it with the last of what she had it flared out like venom racing through her veins, the pained gasp drawing a large growl from her demon companion.

Sweat gathered on her brow as she panted and waited out the pain coursing through her. It slowly receded and as the last of it ebbed away the growl that had been shaking the whole cave, registered with her as it vibrated in her. Meekly, blue eyes looked in the direction of the demon. It had been so long since she had seen him she had no idea what he felt until these last moments, it made her feel more ashamed, she couldn't meet his eyes so instead looked at her lap.

"I'm sorry," she muttered, "I wasn't strong enough," her heart sobbed internally, she didn't know how to get herself out of this one. They had tried hard to prevent this and shield her from him yet she had her own power and let her guard down. She should have known that he was up to something but didn't focus on what he was doing.

The muscles around her body begged to be stretched but she wouldn't let herself have that kind of luxury with the weight of that aura, she wished she could curl up and hide her face from everyone. That bite means she is marked as his, she was certain this is what it means. Deciding to rest she turned on her side facing the wall of the cave and fell into a fitful sleep, part of her wished she didn't wake again as cowardly as the thought was.

Hours passed, it could have been a couple days for all she knew. Her companion was still in the same spot, light growls still escaping his frame. As she sat up this time the kimono she wore fell open with nothing to keep it closed. Falling to her left elbow before her slow movements could prevent it. The brief fumble was enough to show her mostly unmarred skin to the demon, his rumbles almost releasing a groan but her still meek voice had caught his attention.

"Touga," she called, drawing his attention to the tumbling locks obscuring her face from view. "You don't have to stay, your strength is-," his growl cut her off. He swiftly got up and made for the entrance, her eyes on his back, noting for the first time his bare torso. His whip came out, screeches and pained growls sounded out as it shredded beasts the apart.

He turned back to her and the firelight lit up his face, his glowing red eyes dimmed until her hand clasped her shoulder again. The white of his eyes and the pupil could not be made out, she had seen InuYasha's pupil turn blue as the amber turned red, this was new to her. The jagged blue marks had grown more furious looking.

She felt a bite shameful but she has been attracted to this male since she first laid eyes on him, it grew as she learned more about him and begun to fancy him. Now he was before her with a bare torso, her eyes couldn't help but trace over his broad shoulders, muscled arms and begin to soak in the sight of his chest and abs. Her line of vision drifted further south, jagged blue lines on his hips and wrists, and then she noticed a slight bulge in his pants but tried her best to think nothing of it as she squeezed her legs together, focusing on the cave wall instead.

He took a few long strides to her, eyes forced to look back at him as she heard his demanding presence drawing closer. His feet stopped when he was right over her legs; staring down at her a moment more before he gracefully dropped to his knees. His clawed hand sifted through her locks until it cradled her scalp, gently pulling her head back a little bit.

Her heartbeat increased as his nose descended, tracing invisible lines around her shoulders, down her neck, and across her chest before snarling at the mark, that mark that should be his but was mocking him with the scent and aura of the other demon. He could feel her stiffen in his arms and after letting the anger course through his body he traced along her throat to the other side before nuzzling her, he could feel her trying to cover any moans or sighs.

Pulling back he looked straight into her eyes, they were covered in a light haze but she was alert. His other hand was caressing her back, keeping her nerves soothed; he refused to have her frightened of him and his attentions. He could feel his blood, it's been heated for hours and the buildup was consuming. His muscles were tense between the anger and fury that he has had for days to the skin he had seen of her, bringing back to the forefront his passion for her, the desire to have her as his and he would not let that disgraceful demon stand in his way.

He fueled his emotions and heated blood into a kiss instead, a searing kiss that had her melting at its strength, forcing her to focus only on it and nothing else. She lay back at his prompting, his large frame settled over her, lips telling her what he has yet to say out loud. He spent his time devouring her lips and turning her to putty.

After he swept her up in his passion he used his tactics to urge her to sleep. His goal was to ensure she knows he loves her, not to make her feel like a piece of meat being fought over between two demons. If he let everything go he would be pumping her with his seed tonight and fighting the claim but her body needed to rest more, the healing properties in his saliva would ensure that.

He settled in, holding her to him until he could no longer be so close to that claim mark, his golden eyes had returned but the red was taking over. He left and spent time claiming the lives of the beasts that had crept closer and though the slaughter was easy, it gave him an out for his anger. He only needed to wait just a bit more; he could soon claim her even if he didn't maim Takeshi first.

Yet again as she woke up he was across the cave from her, red eyes glowing and she wondered if her mind dreamed it up. As she twisted her body to see him better the realization that she was healed minus that bite, it throbbed just then and she swore it did so just to spite her. Her powers are still at war with the mark so she felt justifiably confused about being healed. Turning to the dog demon, "Touga," her body twisted towards him, the fur bunching around her waist.

"Don't," he started, "move," he rumbled out, body tense right again. The tickle of her hair across a nipple had her looking down at her bare torso, the kimono lying underneath her body. The blush rushed across her face, warming her chest as she moved to cover her breasts, they pushed up drawing out a rumble from him.

The firelight cast shadows across him as it flickered; it seemed larger than she remembered. His hand was fisted around something in his lap while the other fisted in the dirt and stone next to his leg. His face had a slight crease in the eyebrows, lips thin. She still wondered if she dreamt of his passionate kisses but it seemed too real to be a dream.

She hesitated and touched her neck as it gave another throb, his growl vibrated through the cave. Her eyes flashed around the cave, unsure with herself and unsure with what to do. Wide awake and instructed not to move, it made it hard not to fidget in place. It looked like it pained him to stay, she could have sworn she told him he could leave; she wouldn't blame him with the trouble she brought this time.

After a few minutes of being lost in thought, lost with her emotions and just where she stood in everything, she decided sitting here would do nothing. She is healed, nothing except his heated blood is keeping them there and she couldn't help but wonder if it was mostly directed towards her, even she could smell Takeshi on her and feel the aura.

Her body was still covered with his scent, she still needed to properly wash but it wouldn't be totally gone still. Her stomach hurt with her hunger ignored, she felt dirty and just wanted to disappear into the darkness. "I'm going to get fresh air," the comment gave a light echo; she didn't face him as she carefully pulled the kimono to her shoulders.

Stealing a glance at him before drawing her legs underneath her as she carefully got up. Being hit with a lack of balance with a few nowhere near graceful steps, her mind wished this eclipse was gone allowing the number of days to be easier to discern, instead it was just constant darkness. The breeze fluttered by as she made it to the more narrow entrance, her locks tumbled around her as she stepped into it.

The heat and moisture in the air to the right had her feeling her way in the darkness to what she was certain to be a hot spring. For the first time she wasn't overly eager to get in. No matter how hard she scrubbed it would make no difference, her body would feel disgusting but it might be good for Touga to get some of the scents off of her.

The thought of making things easier on her savior was more than enough to get her sitting on the bank, dipping her legs in the water. Her fingers worked on her hair, it was knotted but not nearly as bad as she thought it would be. Sitting there it took her some time to finish as she looked around in a light daze. Slipping into the spring her kimono floated around her, she felt a bit spooked with the lack of light but used her powers to feel for any creatures nearby. She could only guess that Touga must have been keeping the area clear while she slept.

It was shallow compared to some of the others but she could still sit down without holding her breath. The water was great, it was warm and had soothing qualities but she couldn't find it in her to enjoy it, all she could think of was her failure and feel like a burden. The darkness looked promising; it gave her the same effect of escaping into her dreamless sleep. What could she honestly do against a demon that now had a claim on her? What could she do against a demon that has the ability to control her and strip her of her virginity so effortlessly?

'I can't believe I've become so weak, such a coward and so pathetic. I can't even face the others and at this point I hope Touga will leave. If this darkness would just swallow me up,' her mind drifted off with those thoughts.

Such a sociable character and quite honestly, she felt the complete opposite. Her days of chasing shards were over, she may have been feeling down a few times but this is the first she had ever felt this bad. Her arms wrapped around her knees as she wondered where she could go from there. Something about her had Touga's blood constantly heated, if his is like this then what would it be like going back to the Western lands.

The place is full of demons and the fact they will smell her failure, it would be better to be trapped in a dungeon or even with Takeshi. Her friends, she has burdened them so much, if she could just make the sun come back she could walk away knowing she at least did one thing right.

Her mind was turning gears, her productive thought process in place. She has been right in his castle, reading books and everything. She read deep into the Eastern land's connection to the Sun, the Western land's connection to the moon, more like the fire elementals and dog demons. Her brain was working, kicked up into full gear, she began scrubbing her body vigorously as she thought and reflected on the scrolls.

He had made himself known to those two particular demon lines, even mentioned slaughtering their ancestors in the past. The answer must lie in their blood but if the answer was in a scroll he certainly wouldn't have taken a chance at her discovering it. He might have destroyed it but then she remembered, the demon lord, Akihiko, said he had a scroll. It must be important but why had they not done anything?

Looking at the cave she wondered if Touga knew or was needed by them. Maybe as she thought further, just maybe there is something she could do. Dipping under the water she vigorously scrubbed her hair to get the oil out of it. She drew her kimono off her finally and did her best to clean it before wringing it out and draping it over a low hanging branch just outside of the spring.

The breeze brushed against her and she was glad to slip right back in. She had no huge reason to get out anytime soon so she would take advantage of this time and be productive in her thoughts at least. Several minutes ticked by, her mind floating all over when she randomly realized she should have washed Touga's clothing too.

Draping the wet kimono around her she quietly stepped into the cave, Touga's eyes were closed, his form tense. She picked it all up, the fur much heavier than anticipated so she did her best and made quick work of washing them before setting all of it out to dry. She hoped it would be enough since she obviously smelled of the demon when she came here, she hoped it would make a difference so he can get a reign on his blood.

Being in the hot springs was starting to get to her; she felt drowsy and lightheaded thanks to the heat. Her gaze landed on the water as she listened around her for anything to help pass the time since her vision consisted mainly of darkness.

The soft ripples in the water assured him she was fine. He let her be while she stretched her legs and he fought off jumping her like the horny dog he is. It would most likely not have gone well afterwards but he knew without a doubt he could have her writhing underneath him and screaming his name in pleasure. Soon he can bring things back to normal between them, he will have her at his side willingly and all of this will just fade into the past as a bad memory.

He can feel the connection they have; he felt it in his death. He couldn't move on but he could catch glimpses of her here and there, each time she was growing stronger and more confident. His call back to this world sealed it in his eyes, she is his to protect, his to love, to be proud of, and adore.

'I promise with my blood and this second chance at living, I will kill that demon, he will not have her, nor will he rule over us,' his aura became a visible red cloud misting around him, eyes flashing between a bright red and crimson as he growled into the darkness.

His blood cooled down, he could feel the time pass, when his eyes opened the cave was empty besides him. The dripping of water could be heard from outside the cave and with a quick look he found his fur freshly washed and drying over a branch. After a sniff he could smell Kagome still out there awake so he let her be for the time being and went into a meditation, closing his golden orbs as he relaxed his body and cleared his mind.

Water, it was all around her. A floating sensation came over her and then she tried to breath, water coming into her lungs, drowning her. The floating darkness tried to keep her and she flailed her limbs around her wildly trying to get a sense of direction in her panic. No light was there to guide her, just the heated pool, it felt warmer under her. The strike of ground under her foot brought a sense of relief as she kicked off it and broke through the surface gasping for air and into a short hacking fit.

Her eyes blurry, she rubbed them and could see she was in the hot spring. 'I fell asleep,' she thought dimly.

The lethargic feeling came over her and she stumbled to the ledge and pulled herself out of the water. She glanced around noticing the fabrics hung up, they were still dripping wet. Tiredly she looked for a warm place to lie down, not much time had passed and the thought of sleeping in wet clothes didn't appeal to her. Seeing the boulders near the spring, they would help block the wind and were only a few feet away from the steam of the water. Making her way over there she curled up into a ball facing the boulders and drifted back to sleep within moments, her body and mind not noticing the chill it took.

Something had broken him from his meditation. He spread his senses out immediately, locating Kagome still outside but nothing around. She had been out there for several hours, he wondered if she really needed that much fresh air. The clothing was still drying, without the sun it took longer, coupled with the moisture in the air it might be several hours even with the breeze and small gusts of wind.

With a flare of his aura he was able to dry his belongings until they were merely damp. Looking around for Kagome he didn't spot her immediately but when he did he looked at her sleeping form confused. Her body bare and chilled as she continued to snooze on the ground in the open-air, 'sigh, why would she choose to sleep out here?' Not willing to possibly wake her he instead settled himself behind her, drawing her to his chest covering her form the best he could, surrounding her with his body heat. This time he went to sleep, emotionally and physically beat.
