ROBIN'S POV

I was beginning to wonder just how much of a challenge this war would be as we seized the Mila Tree. Let me do a quick summary of what happened between here, and right now. Because I'm in a bit of a predicament.

Well, we got to the top of the Mila Tree after crushing Valm's forces and met with Lady Tiki, or the Voice of the Divine Dragon Naga. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes, mistook Lucina for a thousand year old prince, which she silently fumed at. Oh, and on a more important note she informed us that the Fire Emblem was actually missing four out of its five jewels. How did we miss that? The Emblem currently only had Argent, you know, that white jewel at the top? If it were anywhere else it would have been really obvious. So, Lady Tiki gave us the stone Azure, which as you might have guessed, was blue. It also fit conveniently into one of the FOUR OTHER INDENTS ON THE FIRE EMBLEM. I mean, come on Ylisseans. Get your act together.

Anyway, back to my predicament. What was it? Oh yeah. Well, its been roughly three weeks since then. Our- well, My- plan was to march onwards and defeat one of Valm's three generals- Walhart Himself, Say'ri's brother Yen'fay, and Pheros, a female Valkyrie. I decided that since facing Walhart at full strength would be suicide, and that Say'ri and her children (From the future) might not be able to handle killing their brother/uncle yet, I decided we should target Pheros.

Big, BIG mistake.

I don't really remember the battle. I was knocked out. Like, I led the charge with Chrom through the front doors and got slammed over the head with a Sleep Staff. Chrom did too. The pathetic thing I'm not sure if the spell or the impact knocked me out.

Anyway, after Chrom was taken away, morale dropped pretty quickly. Then, it skyrocketed once the Renegades of Valm showed up. Then plummeted again once they turned against us.

So, let's fast forward back to reality.

"Dammit Robin, this was one hell of a plan!" Chrom yelled, swinging his sword to keep the enemies at bay. We had taken a stand at the entrance to Fort Steiger, hoping that we'd be able to slow the tide of enemies by forcing them through the two arched doorways.

It was kind of working.

Just then, a messenger swooped down, helpfully landing on a Valmese soldier with his Pegasus, promptly crushing and/or killing him. "P-Prince Chrom!" he yelled, obviously out-of-breath. I don't know why- his Pegasus did all the work. Chrom glanced backwards. "Pray tell this is good news." He said, and Say'ri looked up from the assassin she was disarming to shoot him a dark glance. What was that?

The messenger frowned. "That I could, milord. But I would be lying!" Chrom cursed and decapitated a cavalier that got too close for comfort. "Its generals Walhart and Yen'fay…. They're approaching us from the north and south!" Chrom cursed so loud that Morgan literally dropped her sword and covered her ears. Normally I would chuckle at that but this time I had to do a sailing leap and impale the swordsman she was keeping busy in the chest. Have I mentioned my daughter can be scatterbrained?

"Any brilliant schemes this time?" Chrom said with an edge to his voice. He gets like that a lot. Technically, I did have ONE plan. "Well, its against pretty much all of my morals but…." And I told him. For a long time, he was quiet. Contemplating the idea as he slashed through the enemy ranks like a hurricane. Finally, he nodded. "I don't like it. But, we have no other choice. Who will lead it?"

I thought for a minute. It had to be some sort of good leader, so that left Chrom, Lucina, Basilio, Flavia, and me. Chrom, Basilio, and Flavia were incredible fighters, but I couldn't send the heads of a nation off on a suicide mission. I sure as HELL wasn't sending Lucina. That left-

"Me, of course. Anyone else would be inadequate." I said, forcing a smile. Chrom stopped. Once again, I had to lunge and knock the enemy's sword he was fighting into the air. With a quick slash he fell backwards onto the ground. Chrom was shaking his head.

"Robin. One, you may have failed here today, but we need out tactician. Two, you have a family! You remember what I said would happen if you broke my daughter's heart, right?" He said, glaring at me with intensity.

I had to think about that, too. Lucina, Morgan, and Christian were my family. My timeline-defying family. However, this was important. It was them or me, and frankly that choice made itself.

"I'll be back, Chrom. I promise."

Jack's Corner

Idiot Alert! Changing my little blurb here to tell you how stupid I am. I was just talking about something that, looking back on it, I shouldn't be saying. Anyay, I meant to upload this chapter yesterday night. I put it in a Document but forgot to actually upload it. Yay me.
