On my profile I have glimpses to a couple stories I own, I'm working on the cover art to them and will be publishing them to Smashwords. More info will be out later. Outside of that I have a new story up, Sensual Thunder. This is a Kagome x OC pairing. Give it a shot, if you like this story I bet you will like that one as well.

Unfinished Conquests
Chapter 35
Knowing he had unfinished business he slowly slid out of bed from beside his mate. Tucking the covers back around her slight form he proceeded out of the room and down the hall. Peeking into another bedroom he spotted Rin sleeping all twisted up in the covers. With a smile he let her be before finding the room he needed, soon being joined by the Lady of this palace.
"I see you have finally detached yourself from the poor girl's side. What could be so important?" She watched him going through her library, obviously looking for something.
Looking over his shoulder at her as he grabbed another book, he finally revealed his worry. "Your barrier is too similar to the one that was used on the Western Palace. We need something stronger or even this place will not be safe. He has found a way around it twice now; I doubt you want him causing chaos here as well."
"Your worries are for nothing, he doesn't even know where the palace is," she bit out, irked at the suggestion that she could not properly protect her own home any further after doing so for centuries.
"InuKimi, I am not trying to insult you so do not take it that way. I am stating simple facts. Sesshoumaru was conceived between us, he used a similar barrier to yours, I had even added my own power to it and you had seen the destruction. I need to protect my mate just like you and Sesshoumaru wish to protect your own property and people." Going back to the book in hand he skimmed through the pages.
"What do you know about this fool? He was defeated before; I don't see why you are so worried now. Just go kill that yatsu and be done with it." He gave her a sidelong glance, noticing she is definitely in a mood right now but decided to ignore it for now.
"We are well matched in power, that is why he is still alive," he put the book back before going to another one and starting to skim the pages of it. "He was powerful in the past too; it took a lot for them just too even seal him. Back then he was only focused on conquest but now he wants both Kagome and his conquest. He invaded the East first and is now after the West, he holds a grudge against both."
With a quick intake of air and straightening of her spine she spat out, "That is it! You have met each other in battle, off the battlefield yet you can only supply me with THAT! You mongrel, death left you with less senses and abilities it would seem."
"Do NOT insult me bitch!" He snarled at her from over his shoulder, the sneer still planted on his face as he pushed the book roughly back into place as he pivoted to look at her.
"Touchy," she goaded him, not really feeling threatened but settling her nerves from being startled at the sudden verbal lash out.
Choosing to ignore her he turned away briskly to continue his search while he heard the soft steps from her nonchalant approach. The slender yet pale hand with deadly claws extended over his shoulder, plucking the very book she knows he needs. Once he was facing her again she handed it over, already flipped to the page about her specific kind of barrier that she had learned ages ago just as she was maturing from puppyhood. "All of the specifics on my barrier are in there. Sesshoumaru just added his own twist on it."
Before he could thank her she was already gone from this section of the castle making him feel a slight twinge of guilt. Settling on some cushions he began to carefully read about this barrier and look for ways around its flaws. His search continued for hours until Rin came in the room with a quiet knock. She was fully rested and had already dressed for the day and eaten breakfast. This quest took him into other books as he began to come up with an idea to possibly keep this floating palace from being breached. Rin did her best to hold in her curiosity but about the time she was about to start shooting out questions is the time he gracefully got to his feet and headed out the door with a guiding hand holding her smaller hand.
"I'm sorry little one but I cannot answer questions right now. I must speak with your grandmother but you are welcome to listen in and learn." His gold eyes flicked down to look at her, seeing the nod as she appeared to be appeased by that offer.
"Already done," InuKimi drawled from her throne where she sat leisurely and idly inspected her nails.
Almost rolling his eyes at her bored countenance he refrained because he knows better, she is actually quite interested in what he has come up with so far even though she is still feeling insulted. "Yes, I want to run my thoughts by you," he stated and waited with as much patience as he could as she slowly came to being more alive and finally descended down the stairs from her throne. He followed her on over to her tea room where she as usual wouldn't let him speak until the tea was before him and she has taken a sip of hers. This is how she has always been the entirety of the time that he has known her. Finally laying out the books to the pages he desires for her to see he began going over the material and his thoughts regarding it with little response as usual from the grand bitch but he could see it in her eyes especially that she is actually being very serious and thoughtful about it. She likes to put on quite the show and he would definitely know it more than most.
Hours dragged on with them working on the barrier, ending up outside where they were creating one around various objects such as books. It was during this that a servant came to get Rin for the last meal of the day that they realized how much time has passed. They had yet to create a barrier that met to their standards so had more work to do and methods to cross out. Dragging a clawed hand across his face Touga sat in his spot at the table thinking about resting a while.
A scent wafted across their noses that had them dropping their chopsticks as they stiffened and smelled more carefully. Two seconds later Touga had taken off with InuKimi in hot pursuit while a servant ran in to usher Rin to safety. Growls and snarls were coming loose from their throats as they traveled with high speed across the palace until Touga finally sent the door to Kagome's chambers flying off its hinges as he went barreling through the room, colliding with another muscular body and out through the wall. InuKimi looked at the destruction with a snarl on her face before realizing Kagome was just barely awake and looking her way. "They have no sense of preservation when it comes to great architecture apparently," she eyed the hole in the wall for a moment longer. "Come this way with me, time to get you to a new accommodation," she approached the bed and helped her off it.
As they were ambling away some of the debris from the hole in the wall was kicked across the room. "Well well well, so this is where you have been all these years," a feminine voice filtered into the room as she entered it and looked at the owner with contempt. "Time to finish you off dog," she growled across the room.
Looking over her shoulder InuKimi was lightly surprised and equally displeased at this new intruder. "I should have guessed you had something to do with the barriers crashing. Only a vile thing like you would work for such a lowly lifeform."
"Time to see who is the bigger bitch," the intruder made a show of her glistening silver claws as Kagome looked between them with wide eyes.
With an irked growl InuKimi pivoted and prepared herself for a fight, one she wasn't sure about how easily she will walk away from. Outside explosions rocked the palace and she felt her temper grow. "Kagome we are leaving the palace," she grabbed a hold of her wrist and followed the other dog demoness outside through the hole and then sent a blast of a blue shield to push the other two demons away from the palace, a clear message to Touga that he better get the hell off her property NOW. She isn't about to let her glorious home go to ruins like her sons did. With no warning she pulled Kagome right with her as she jumped from the palace and down to the Earth below. The demons above growled at Kagome's startled shriek but all went well, InuKimi threw her robe on to Kagome and used it to keep her safe from the fall while she went straight into battle mode against this light blue haired dog demoness that she seems so determined to tear into. "You're dead InuHoshi," she snarled.
"Just what I was going to say to you… sister," she snarled in return while Kagome looked at the apparent family reunion between the two.
"What is with this family and hating their siblings," she mumbled and watched while clutching the robe, a cloud beneath her legs allowing her to just float and watch from a safe distance. Crashing through the trees behind her was the two males as they sent each other flying with a large explosion. If not for the magical properties of the robe she would have gone flying for sure. Eyes peering behind her she locked eyes with Takeshi and went as stiff as a statue for the seconds during and after while he refocused on his opponent. They are both technically her mates but only one was by her choice.
An ironic laugh escaped InuHoshi's lips, "Protecting a human I see and Touga's lover no less… wow sister, how the mighty have fallen and yet she is also marked and impregnated by another. How desperate has he become since rising from the ash and bones he had originally become," she questioned sarcastically, her dialogue floated to the ears of the other two demons as they took a good look at their mate before fighting with renewed vigor.
InuKimi flicked blood from her nails as she just finished tearing them through the face of her dear sister. "That is the price you pay for spoiling my fun," she remarked casually while her sister looked at her for a few seconds in disbelief, her blood streaming down her cheek.
A disgruntled growl escaped her lips, "Fun, you and your stupid fun. Always using others for your own amusement," she gave a bitter laugh. "You haven't changed one bit…" she concluded.
With a haughty attitude she asked, "Were you not put on this Earth to serve as amusement for me? That is what I was led to believe when our parents informed me I would have a baby sister. So far you have been more of a pain than any amount of amusement I have gained from you."
"You're just as disgusting as you have always been! Taking right after Mother still I see," she shouted out there and prepared to launch an attack. As her sister laughed from across the battlefield she snapped and went in a tad more recklessly than she should but she left with blood on her claws as their robes twirled in the aftermath of the attack. "I will destroy your pretty barriers and watch your palace crumble with great pleasure!"
"Come now sister, are you really still so jealous?" The question made the light blue haired demoness pause as she got lost in memory lane.
Eyes reflecting the swirling emotions inside took a sinister turn as they locked on to the gold eyes in front of her. "InuKimi always so perfect, the very image of perfection with her long silvery white hair flowing around her like a silk waterfall and eyes the mixture of molten gold and amber resin. Always gliding around with grace and hiding her amused smile behind a fan that she flicks with an elegant hand. These are all things about how perfect you are and how pure you look with the bloodline flowing through you. They have me after Mother dabbles here and there with potions when they couldn't conceive another child to add into the lineage. I'm born un-pure and with ice powers, ICE POWERS! That is not something our lineage carries until I was conceived as a FAILURE! InuKimi oh so perfect and then there is InuHoshi the experiment and freak!"
That gave InuKimi pause while Kagome gasped in surprised with a hand to her lips. "InuHoshi," Kagome beckoned her to look her way. "I can understand on some level how you feel. For years it has always been Kikyo this and Kikyo that. I was always in her shadow and for a while I tried to be her until I finally struggled to push everyone into seeing me, Kagome. I was clumsy, even shattered the Shikon Jewel with my poor archery skills and InuYasha could tell you, even Sesshoumaru could tell you how often I needed to be rescued. I learned a valuable lesson. You shouldn't live up to the expectation someone sets on you to be someone else because you're not, I'm not. We can only be ourselves and nothing more if we wish to be happy and feel these chains finally disappear. I'm not perfect; I am still always in trouble. I'm not even in the right era! Yeah that is right I am from the future and now stuck in the past. It's just I see where you are coming from being I am the reincarnation of this great priestess and I basically fueled all the destruction from Naraku and so many others just by shattering that jewel and losing the jewel shards at different points. We are just similar in the aspect that we have been pushed into another's shadow rather than just living with our shadow. Try and live as just you," she finally ended her speech with a pleading look, wanting to help the tormented demoness be able to set her past aside.
InuHoshi wore a hard look on her face as she looked at the unsuspecting human that she was requested to help bring back. In her womb she could see she carries the child of Takeshi but she isn't strictly mated to him, she is also the mate of Touga and the marks are warring on her body, slowly breaking her down. Even from here she could see how raw they look, spiking with each flare of their battling auras. "Do you care about the child you carry, the one that was conceived with Takeshi? If you purify your body after three days and nights under the holiest waterfall in the land you could rid yourself of both marks and the baby so you can live. Otherwise it isn't likely that you will survive and who knows about the child."
Startled she looked at her with wide eyes, hands covering her abdomen as she was forced to think about her current situation. "I would never harm my child no matter how they were conceived or with whom," she began to feel distraught and did her best to ignore the burning areas on her neck.
"The selfless type," she tsked. "You won't last long with an attitude like that. It is a kill or be killed world. Focus less about others and more about yourself unless you want to meet an early death."
Taking a long look at the priestess from the corner of her eye InuKimi brought an end to the attention on her. "Still so bitter with your lot in life," she commented. "Why don't we finish this up so I can finally stop seeing your face around here? Kagome just keep your nose clean of this situation, she knows little of what she speaks about." Sliding into a stance she gave a clear signal that it is time to start focusing on the fight.
Looking between the two it reminded her of all the times InuYasha and Sesshoumaru were picking fights with each other. What is with dogs and always needing to prove something or have a grudge? Attempting to push the robe off her shoulders Kagome gave a light buzz of her powers and succeeded but found herself falling through the cloud, feeling the cool moisture on any bare skin. Having come a long ways from being the girl she had first come here as she listened to her instincts and experience, keeping her limbs tucked in and covering her head before she hit the ground and toppled over from her kneeling position. Dirt and pebbles scraped her skin lightly as she pushed up after a short skid. Standing up and brushing off the dirt that remained she once again had the eyes of the two inu demonesses on her. With a light grumble she stalked forward. "What is the big deal, are you two seriously going to duke it out? Wouldn't it be better to just put the past aside for the time being and instead bring back the sun and moon so you can just carry on with life. I don't know about you two but I am in far more favor of just accepting that I am who I am and Kikyo is who Kikyo is. InuHoshi it is well past the time to still be upset with your lot in life because it is what you make of it but so far you are only going as far as where others try to limit you to be. InuKimi you should be kinder to your sister, she is family not a toy for amusement."
Frowning at the interruption as Kagome finally came to a stop they both looked like they would bite her head off sooner rather than come to some kind of acceptance. "Stay out of this Kagome," InuKimi spoke with a clipped tone. "I barely even knew you existed before this whole mess."
"Like I care about how long you have known I exist. I've made my point clear so why do you dogs have to be so stubborn? Wouldn't you rather be a team instead of on opposite sides of the battlefield?" Both of their lips lifted in a slight snarl at the mere thought of being allies or anything closer. "Fine whatever," she threw her hands up into the air, "but I am not going to just wait around and watch a pointless battle as usual between siblings. Go ahead and be all macho bitch, I'm just going to find something better to do instead," Kagome pivoted and began walking away with her hair swaying behind her back with two sets of eyes focused on it.
"Human," InuKimi called after her but received no response. "Girl," she tried again but in a more agitated tone. Not appreciative in the least and growing perturbed by this mate of her ex she called out, "Kagome!" Bare feet came to a halt as a light glare was casted over her shoulder as she finally acknowledged the regal inu demoness. "You will stay where you are," she demanded icily.
"I will do what I wish, you're not the boss of me so don't get the idea that I will take orders from you," she declared with slightly narrowed eyes and a stubborn chin. With that she continued on walking in the direction she knew Touga to be as the other two silently watched her leave, both shocked that she would dark speak out like that.
