CHROM'S POV
"Sumia, we have to go back! Lucina might be KILLED!" I yelled angrily, struggling to keep myself upright on the Pegasus. Sumia sighed. "Chrom, I know that. Did you see that explosion just now? If we-" Her voice broke, and I realized she was just as worried as I was. She cleared her throat. "If we go back we'll be of no help. That's a battle between gods, and us mortals couldn't do a thing."
Instinctively, I reached for Falchion's hilt. However, I only grasped air. I looked down in shock at the empty sheath at my waist. "Sumia, where did Falchion go? It's gone!" Sumia looked back, but quickly focused her eyes back in front of her. "I'll circle low for it, see if you dropped it on the ground." She said, and we pulled into a steep dive. As we were going down, I caught a glimpse of the fight through a gaping hole in the Table.
Robin and Lucina, or should I say Grima and Naga, were both swinging their swords- wait, what is Lucina holding? "Sumia, bring us closer to the Table, I think I saw Falchion." Sumia pulled up, thankfully a lot slower than her descent. "You might have just seen Lucina's, you know." She said, straightening out as we reached the rugged hole I had seen the two from. "Yes, but I'm positive I saw two." I said urgently, watching the two collide again in a blizzard of lightning-fast blows.
"You do realize that going in here is tantamount to suicide, right?" Sumia said, although I could tell she already knew the answer. She hesitated for a moment. "I love you, Chrom." She said softly. "I love you too, Sumia."
Then we flew into the Dragon's Table once more.
CHRISTIAN'S POV
My everything hurt. My body was aching everywhere, and I couldn't see out of my right eye. However, in my good eye I saw a very worried Morgan fanning over me. "So I take it you were able to resist the delicious temptation of running me through?" Morgan cried out and wrapped me in a tight hug. "Ribs- crushing." I choked out. She let go with an apologetic "Whoops."
"So, I take it the fighting's over?" I asked, looking around at the deserted, albeit wrecked, Dragon's Table. Morgan bit her lip. "Not exactly." I was about to ask what she meant when the remaining ceiling above us crumbled. Morgan shrieked, chanted, and threw her Bolganone tome into the air. A hot firework of magma crushed the marble above us into tiny, stinging pebbles.
The rocks that had fallen in the center of the roof erupted in flashes of blue and black. I caught my breath. "No!" I watched as my parents rose from the rubble; Robin was grinning sadistically while Lucina had a perfectly serene look on her face, spoiled by the scratch on her cheek that was slowly oozing blood. In Robin's hands were two scissor blades and Lucina had… Two Falchions?
"Summoning both Falchions, the Exalt's and the Princess', was a clever trick, Naga. But I'm afraid not even a hundred holy swords can stop me from ending you!" Robin finished speaking as he kicked off the ground, both scissor blades poised for decapitation. With a flick of her wrists, both of Lucina's weapons flew into the air as she pounded her fists together. Grima's eyes widened as he was flung through the wall with the intense power behind the holy fire.
Without looking up, she caught both weapons. I immediately tried to get up, but fell back with a cry, my midsection was burning like someone lit it on fire. "Easy, Christian, you sustained some heavy damage. You can't do anything."
Just then, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. "Mother watch OUT!" Lucina turned around, eyes orbs of bright blue, just as purple lightning tore through the Table directly above her head.
However, it never got there.
PERSEUS' POV
"Madelyn? MADELYN!" In one motion I leapt off of my Pegasus and landed on the wrecked floor of the Dragon's Table, where Madelyn was twitching feebly as purple lightning arced up and down her body. "Dammit you better be ok or I'll never forgive you!"
I knelt down near her head. Her eyes focused on my face and her lips twitched into what must have been an attempt at a smile. A thin trickle of blood was dribbling down her chin from her mouth. "My duty… has always been…. To the divine dragon." She coughed up blood, which spattered the cracked marble floor. "Give them the… Gemstone, Perseus." Her voice was growing faint as she reached into the pocket of her robe with a great strain, and held out the shining jewel, Vert.
She dropped it on the ground in front of me. "Don't let… the sacrifices… go in vain. Not just… me… all of… the lost." With those final words, she let out a final shuddering breath, and went limp. I slammed my fist into the marble. "DAMMIT, MADELYN! HOW COULD YOU?"
"Tut tut. How heartbreaking." A figure rose from a gaping hole in the floor. His hair was jet black, but spikes were protruding from his arms, horns from his head, and wings from his back. His eyes were a bright violet and a sadistic grin was painted on his face. Grima.
I stood up, and drew both of my swords. Grima laughed. "Even the goddess had no power against me. What makes you think you could do any better?" The only thing I could hear was the rush of blood in my ears. Without a second thought, I ran at the Fell Dragon's vessel with a roar.
LUCINA'S POV
What was that foolish boy thinking? I watched, unable to move, as he charged the Fell Dragon with both swords swinging. I wanted to look away, but Naga stared unblinking. "Awakener, watch, for I sense the power of the Gemstones on him. It is not enough power to defeat Grima, but if he is caught off guard we can assist."
So that was Naga's plan?
I watched as he leapt into the air and attempted to slash Grima's chest, but the Fell Dragon sent him skidding across the marble with a swipe of his scissor blades; thankfully he was using the hilt. The boy stood up again and charged again. Grima laughed, but quickly stopped as the boy threw the first sword to the side, and grabbed the scissor blade.
With a frustrated roar, Grima flung the boy into the air. He flung his other sword to the side and threw something at Grima. He laughed and caught the object, a parcel of sorts, and saw Grima's eyes widen as he was engulfed by an explosion of green flames. The boy landed on the ground, inches from the jagged hole Grima had created.
I then watched with a silent scream as Robin, the touches of the Fell Dragon removed, free fell through the hole in the floor.
Jack's Corner
I am willing to bet my entire life savings that at least one of you forgot about the existence of Madelyn, Perseus, Augustus, and Jason. Anyway, here they are. Madelyn, has unfortunately, died. I feel kind of sad about it. I felt like I could have done more with her character; she had a great sketch. Ah well. At least I know how Rick Riordan, Veronica Roth, and John Green feel. So um, enjoy! Leave reviews! It makes me happy when you do, even if they're negative!
