GRIMA'S POV
The Falchion was awakened. I could sense it. It was only a minor inconvenience; Naga had played her cards wrong. My current power far surpassed hers. I had crossed the border into Ylisse. Although I was still an hour or two away from the goddamn capital, there was no probable way the Ylisseans could engage me before I destroyed it.
Well, there might be a slight chance. If they could somehow find a flock of Pegasi; they did leave Mount Prism roughly 15 minutes ago by mortal timekeeping. Even then, I would still be able to rampage the city.
The sun was already beginning to fall. If I were to guess by mortal timekeeping, I would say it was about an hour and a half before nightfall, where my powers would amplify even more. The most irritating part was that the sun was shining directly in front of me.
Looking into such an intense source of light was painful. Bursts of blue light were appearing in my vision. Once I defeat the Prince I will be able to cloak the world in eternal darkness. Suddenly, the blue spots soared upwards out of my vision. Wait…
SHIT.
CHROM'S POV
We were speeding towards Grima's back, near his weak spot, with the last bit of Naga's power. After this, she wouldn't be able to contact us, or even effect the coming battle, until Grima was put down.
There was a whooshing noise as we all touched down on Grima's back. The surface was scaly, yet stable. Somehow we weren't being swayed by the wind, despite the fact that Grima was moving incredibly fast.
There was a crack as the human embodiment of Grima appeared, right in front of the nape of the Dragon's neck. Roughly a quarter mile away from our current position. Even from that distance I could tell he was smiling at us.
"You've come, Awakeners." His voice boomed from all directions, closing in on us. "Its such a shame that you'll have to go now. Do you reckon you can survive a 25,000 foot drop without Naga's power?"
With yet another crack, I was flung off of Grima's back, suspended in air for a moment before falling. Looking around I saw everyone was falling with me. This was it. Naga wasn't here to help. We were alone, and lost just like that. I had failed, and done my lineage disgrace.
Then, with a tugging in my gut, I stopped, hanging in midair. Once again, the same situation was happening with everyone else. Then, we shot upwards before falling; no worse for wear, on Grima's back.
Standing there, grim-faced, with one finger in the air, was Robin. "You must remember, Fell One, that I have a large fraction of your power as well." He said quietly, although his voice rang with the same power as Grima's.
The Fell Dragon growled. "Then we'll have to fix that." I let out a gasp of pain as a purple spike shot through my chest from behind. My blood spattered onto the Dragon's scales before vanishing between the crevices.
As I slumped to my knees, I saw Robin vanish in a flash of black light.
ROBIN'S POV
Darkness. Complete darkness. I was floating, like I was immersed in water, except I could breathe. "I do believe I'll leave you here until you have a change of heart. Meanwhile, you can watch your friends die." Grima whispered.
A white rectangle appeared, hovering in the space. With a flash, Chrom appeared, on his hands and knees, coughing up blood as the Fell Dragon walked towards him calmly with a smirk on his face. With another cough, he lifted his head and stared Grima down. "I don't care what you do to me, trash, but you better not lay a goddamn hand on Robin!"
Lucina stood up unsteadily, clutching Falchion like a lifeline. "I'll be damned if I sit back and let you take him, despite my injuries!" two spells, fire and thunder, struck Grima in the chest. He blinked twice, and stopped walking. He looked more irritated than hurt. Morgan and Christian stood there, arms on each other's shoulders for support.
"I second that. You'll have to kill us all before you hurt him." Christian said calmly. Morgan punched her free hand into the air. "Damn right! Come at us with all tomes blazing, you dark bastard!" Grima let out another guttural growl.
"ROBIN IS GONE! YOU CANNOT REACH HIM! HE IS TRAPPED IN MY DOMAIN!" he howled, and both scissor blades appeared in his hands. Chrom shook his head and got to his feet, holding onto the hilt of Falchion for support. "There's no way Robin would just sit there and wait for death. I believe in him more than that."
Grima flinched. The black surrounding me lightened to a deep gray. Could it be? Lucina nodded. "Father is right. I bet Robin is working on escaping your pitiful excuse for a trap right now. You obviously don't know him well enough." she said, brandishing her sword weakly before returning to an offensive stance.
Grima stepped forward threateningly. "STOP THAT INCESSANT CHATTER! I COMMAND YOU!" he screamed. The darkness lightened more, and the expanse seemed to become finite. "Lucina is right." Sumia said weakly, sitting up. "Robin wouldn't just lie there and wait for death. Hell, you better double check on him now." She said, smiling.
The trap turned pure white, and gravity seemed to take hold as I fell onto a solid surface. The space solidified into what seemed like walls. Christian and Morgan had fire in their eyes. "Yeah you chump, you're gonna be eating your words soon!" Morgan yelled, shooting another burst of flame in Grima's direction.
With an uneasy smirk, Grima caught the fireball and send it flying back at Christian. Christian pointed two fingers at the Dragon and an arc of lightning struck the fireball, causing a miniature explosion. "You'd be hard-pressed to find someone more clever than Father. So I'll give you one more chance to go back to the inner circle of hell you came from.
Grima ran at Chrom with a howl as the walls shattered. With one swift movement I appeared in midair, pulled out my sword, and swung horizontally, blocking both scissor blades, and landing in front of Chrom.
"I appreciate the support." I said, grinning. With my free hand, I snapped my fingers, and the purple spikes retracted, and the gaping wounds in everyone's torso vanished. I stared down Grima, who for the first time, looked worried.
The real fight was just beginning.
