LUCINA'S POV
Risen appeared all over Grima's back in flashes of violet light. "If Robin counteracts my instant death attempts, I suppose I'll have these Risen finish you off. They'll make the ones I sent to plague you on Mount Prism look like cream puffs."
Robin looked around. There were Sigil Panels located all over the Fell Dragon's back, they were probably ready to spawn more Risen. Robin nodded, more to himself than anyone, and raised his hands. "Alright everyone!" he yelled, smiling. "Chrom, Lucina, and I are gonna whoop Grima's arse off his own back while you all keep the Risen off of us. Sound like a plan?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Crona nodded. "You heard him, guys. LET'S BEAT SOME UNDEAD ARSE!" He dropped to one knee, pulled out a bow, and fired three times in the span of five seconds. Three Risen immediately fell off the Fell Dragon's back, most likely never to return.
Grima nodded. "Holding a strategy meeting right under my nose, eh? That's pretty cocky, Robin. So be it!" Grima raised one arm over his head, and the other below his chin, his scissor blades pointing towards his left. "Combat stance: Immortal Punishment."
There was a flash of violet as Grima vanished, before reappearing over me, and swinging downwards. Instinct kicked in as I turned on my heels and jabbed upwards as Grima struck the air where I had been a second. A small spray of black blood shot from his stomach before evaporating.
He turned, back in his original stance. "Clever, Princess. How long will you be able to dodge?" There was another flash of light and suddenly, multiples of Grima/Robin had appeared in a large ring around the three of us. All of them ran at us, still in that peculiar stance.
"Morgan. Christian. Long-range backup!" Robin yelled, throwing out a hand. A small barrage of spells flew from the end of my children's fingers, causing a half dozen of the duplicates to flicker and vanish. A silver arrow whizzed by Robin's head and sank into a duplicate's head. Grima howled in pain as the fakes vanished. Crona saluted me briefly before turning to the other Risen.
He screeched and pulled the arrow out. More black blood spurted out and evaporated before the wound stitched up by itself. "Your pitiful attack cannot wound me, mortal!" he screamed, and, abandoning the three of us, ran for Crona, who had his back turned.
"Nice try, dirty cheat!" Chrom leapt in front of Grima and swung downwards. The Exalted Falchion clashed with the scissor blade on Grima's head. As Chrom applied pressure, Grima struck outwards with the other scissor blade, sending him flying backwards. With a snap of his fingers, Robin righted him before he flew off the Fell Dragon's back.
"We need to work together." Robin said calmly, and ran at the Fell Dragon's turned back. With a swish, he swung his sword at Grima. In a violet flash, Grima was facing him and pushed outwards with both swords, causing Robin to step back, clutching his stomach with his free hand.
Could the three of us really stand against such a powerful god?
CHROM'S POV
I stood back up. Luckily, the scissor blade hadn't pierced the light plating under my shirt. Grima was turning slowly on the balls of his feet, still in his 'Immortal Punishment' stance. Gods, he was worse than Owain. He turned to face me, and stopped. A slow grin spread back onto his face. "Who to destroy first? The mere boy who plagues me now?" He turned to Lucina. "Or maybe the foolish girl who caused this entire struggle to draw on…" He stood there for a second before turning to Robin. "Ah yes."
"How fitting that I destroy my one weakness first." He said, and stalked towards Robin. He raised both scissor blades, and swung. Robin didn't even flinch as both blades cut through him. Lucina and I gasped. Grima laughed briefly before stopping. "ROBIN!" Lucina yelled, and ran towards the Fell Dragon, who was frowning.
There was a bang as all hell broke loose. Grima whipped around and sent Lucina flying down the length of the Dragon's back. Robin vanished with a crack, and suddenly he appeared behind Grima as he whipped around again, sinking his sword into Grima's back. "Chrom, slice him up!" he yelled, pulling the sword down.
I hefted Falchion and ran at the Fell Dragon, who was struggling to escape the blade. Robin waited until the last second before leaping back with his blade. With a roar, I slashed with the Exalted Falchion. I was surprised as the blade cut right through, coming out the other side with a wave of black blood.
Grima screamed with pain and rage before falling to the ground in two parts. He was fading fast as the blood pooled. I raised the Exalted Falchion, ready to stab his head, ending the war. However, I never got the chance.
With a shove, Robin sent me sprawling onto my back. "Robin?" I asked questioningly, looking up. Grima smiled faintly. "Ready to accept, Fell One?" he asked with a sly smile. Robin laughed. "Yeah right, buddy. I'm here to kill you for good. Naga mentioned a certain thing to me."
Grima laughed too, but it was an uneasy laugh. "Kill me? I am an immortal! Even the royal line can only subdue me! The only way for me to die is for me to kill mys-" We both apparently reached the same conclusion all at once. "Robin you can't!" I yelled. "There has to be another way!"
"You do not have the guts! You humans would never sacrifice your own live for some greater good!" Grima snarled. Robin stared down at him. Robin looked over to me. "Tell Lucina… Tell Lucina I love her." He said, his voice catching. "The children too. Morgan and Christian. Take care of them for me."
I stood up. "Robin you can't!" Before I could stop him, Robin raised his sword and stabbed Grima through the heart. There was a flash of violet, and then falling… falling…
Jack's Corner
That was a painful ending to write, I'm sure it must be a blow for you all to read as well. Although this is NOT the final chapter, I'd like to thank all of you who stuck by my writing, despite the fact the first five or so chapters sucked horribly. Not that the later chapters were novels. I appreciate all of you who followed, favorited, read, reviewed, sent in OCs, or even just sent PMs on what you were thinking. You guys are the reason I followed through with this story. You guys are the reason the Ylisseans could prevail! Good for you all! Give yourselves a big ol' pat on the back!
