LUCINA'S POV

The battle quickly turned in the enemy's favor. The battlefield was chaos, and there was an incredible impossibility about the enemy. Heroes from ages past were appearing from the snowstorm and destroying anyone who opposed them. They were truly legendary fighters.

Luckily, I had managed to dodge the magic shots concealed by the snowstorm, and no challenger had come to face me. However, the Feroxi border guard lay in heaps all over, snow collecting on their unmoving bodies. I wasn't sure if they were alive or not, but Lissa and Brady were dashing around and taking them to safety to tend their wounds.

My focus was quickly taken away from the wounded as I sensed a flicker of movement ahead of me through the practically blinding snowstorm. Quickly, I turned on the balls of my feet and dropped into a defensive position as a figure burst through the storm and swung their sword.

As fast as the slippery conditions would allow, I shifted and raised Falchion, blocking the strike. As the figure leapt away to widen the distance, all I saw of them was a few strands of blue hair.

Without sparing a second, the figure ran forward again and swung downwards. Perhaps a little easily, I blocked the strike. However, I wasn't prepared for another strike; the figure withdrew their sword and slashed horizontally, slashing my clothes but otherwise leaving me unharmed.

Playing defensive obviously wasn't going to work in this fight. Switching tactics, I leapt into the air and swung downwards at my opponent. Almost too fast for me to perceive, the figure darted behind me, vanishing from my range of sight.

I twisted and turned around in midair just in time to see a sword lunging right for my chest. Throwing all thoughts of self-defense to the wind, I stabbed downwards with Falchion.

With the thud of bodies hitting the ground, muffled by the snow, we both fell to the ground. In a flash of violet light, my opponent vanished. A Rescue staff? My head fell back into the snow; I couldn't hold it up any longer. I just hope I beat that one opponent.

CHRISTIAN'S POV

On her own, I might have been able to handle Micaiah. At least that's what I tell myself. However, once Sothe joined the fight I knew I was a goner. My battle plan quickly changed from offensive to 'Feebly attempt to hit Sothe while barely dodging Micaiah's attacks'.

However, Sothe was incredibly fast. The slippery terrain hardly affected him, like he wasn't even touching the ground. He would be gone by the time my wing magic reached him. My only advantage was that he couldn't get close, therefore he couldn't hit me. Or, so I thought.

With a flash of silver barely distinguishable from the snow, Sothe threw a knife, which sank directly into my shoulder. With a yell, I dropped my Rexcalibur tome into the snow. There was a flash as it exploded in a burst of white light.

Sothe landed, silently, behind Micaiah, looming over he like a reaper. Micaiah slowly put the tome she was using into her cloak before pulling out a different one. I recognized it instantly. Lexaura, one of the most powerful Light Magic tomes. However, all of the copies were supposedly lost to history.

In an instant, the darkness that the snowstorm caused was gone, replaced by nothing but a warm encasing of light. Time stood still as the light around me began to hum with power. However, the warmth had made me sluggish as I snapped to attention.

There was a blur of purple as a crescendo of explosions came to life all around me.
