Hello, All!
It's certainly been a while, huh? I know I've left a lot of you in the lurch with Lucina's Struggles, and I'm sure a lot of you are disappointed I didn't see it through. However, I have a number of reasons for discontinuing the fic, which I will touch upon later. However, I have more important news.
I am currently working on a reboot of Lucina's Struggles.
My life, in the past year, has changed pretty rapidly. I've gotten more involved in social circles and I found myself with almost zero time to write. I joined theatre, an a capella group, and even a jazz band. As you may have guessed I'm pretty musically oriented. However I think that the workload has become more manageable, and I've found myself with adequate free time to pick up the pen once more.
The big reasons why I discontinued LS was because, first and foremost, I was incredibly disorganized. All I had mapped out were a few plot points, and mainly I just wrote whatever sprang to my head. I worked with roughly a dozen poorly developed OCs, minus the ones submitted to me (Which I believe are only three? I don't know, I haven't sifted through the work recently) and the early chapters were extremely poorly written and unformatted.
Now, let's talk about this reboot.
I plan on keeping most of the characters the same. It's not as much of a reboot as it is a different route. I'm going to focus even less on the actual plotline of FE:A, if that's even possible considering I was already far enough in the original. I'll most likely keep the OCs I have, and if you submitted one to me I would greatly appreciate if you could shoot me a PM confirming that my continued use of your OC(s) is okay. In short, I've decided to focus less on the 'oh gosh golly Grima is gonna destroy the world, let's see who can power up the most and kick ass' and focus more on cold hard battle. I'm planning on investing a large part of my writing to the Plegian-Ylissean/Feroxi war because I feel as if I kind of brushed it off in ~nine chapters in the original. Although it only took five-ish chapters in the actual game, I feel as if it was important in setting the tone and the future conflicts of the game, establishing Plegia as the big-bad enemy.
Enough rambling by me, however. Expect chapter one to be up some time in the coming week. I'm planning on using a cheesy name or maybe just slap a reboot title on the original, so if you have any ideas please feel free to slide into my PMs.
Glad to be back,
