"Will you hold still!" April complained shortly.
Raph huffed irritably, yet tried to stay immobile as she tied off the bandage from around his bicep. Grabbing the bottle of Neosporin, she dabbed a little of it on the gash on his cheek with gentle fingers.
"How does that feel?" she asked, her voice losing it's edge completely.
"Fine," he grunted, though it really stung like hell. He felt very cramped, sitting on the lip of the tub in April's tiny bathroom, but it was the only place to sit while she was patching him up. He couldn't help but look over her body as she replaced the bandages in her medicine cabinet. Then, thinking that she might catch him staring and he dropped his gaze to the floor awkwardly.
"By the way… thanks." Raph looked up and stared into her big beautiful eyes. She looked almost timid as she spoke. "That guy came out of nowhere with that knife… I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't been there."
He almost knocked his head on the ceiling when he stood up. She was so tiny compared to him, he thought that if he hugged her, he would crush her. Instead, he took both of her hands and looked her right in the eyes. Those fathomless eyes that he could just fall into.
"I'd never let anything happen to you. Not ever. And that's a promise, princess."
