No History Without Blood

The body that was once Toshiro Hitsuguya's sat atop the tallest building in the Soul Society. Like an eagle he viewed the ground below with sharp eyes never blinking. And while he watched others watched him.

With the Soul Society now under new occupation, the Quincy began making themselves right at home. Setting themselves up in the barracks of their enemies, the conquering Sternritter claiming the Captain's quarters as their own.

In the streets below the bodies of the defeated her stacked high. The Soul Reapers bodies piled into ditches and holes before being unceremoniously burned or covered. Their own dead were instead buried with honor.

But mourning did not cover all of the Wanderenreich. Most of the veterans of the Invasions, choose to celebrate this victory. For a great victory it was. And there was much rejoicing as a result.

"HERE'S TO EVERYBODY!" Mask De Masculine declared raising a cold, foaming beer into the air. Everyone cheered for the Superstar who then heartily drank from his big mug before finishing with a refreshing 'Ah'.

"What happened next?" questioned a little voice. Mask looked down to see young Liltotto looking up at him in awe. The Superstar had been entertaining the young girl with the story of his battle against a Captain and Lieutenant. But he had gotten so overzaelous in his story telling that he began talking about the pride of the Quincy which lead him to cheering for everybody. He quickly got his mind back on track and cleared his throat. Then he jumped down from the table to sit down next to the girl.

"So there I was" He said picking up right where he let out." Surrounded by this monsterous Captain and his deadly Lieutenant."

"What did they look like?" Liltotto asked.

"A DEMON!" Mask told. "With eyes red, a horned head and and a soul as black as night. His face sadistic and cruel. The Lieutenant was more machine then person. Just as expected of a Soul Reaper." He finished with an all-knowing nod to the young girl who mimicked his action." So I-"

"Big talk. "Cut in a voice. Mask and Liltotto turned to see Bazz B turned around from his seat to look at him." Cut to the chase will ya, ya big goon. Shows us the heads."

"Heads?" Mask answered.

"Their heads!" Bazz B declared. "Their dead aren't they?"

"Dead?!" Mask repeated.

"The Captain and Lieutenant. You did kill them didn't you?"

"...No..." Mask answered after a silence. It forced Bazz B to let out a laugh.

"Then I'll do you one better." He said turning around completly, swinging his legs over the bench to face Mask and Liltotto." I killed an entire Division." He told. The shock was evident on the listeners faces. Even those who hadn't been apart of the conversation turned to listen in anticipation.

"Bullshit." Robert Accutrone cut in.

"Hey!" Mask said covering Liltotto's ears.

"It's the truth." Bazz B declared."The lowest unseated member all the way to the Captain." He brought his index finger up and blew the smoke off of it.

"Then where are the heads?" Mask declared." Show them to me."

"Can't show you the heads, idiot." Bazz B answered." They've all been charred to ashes."

"A likely story." Robert chuckled in disbelief waving away Bazz B's claims with a wave." You always had a habit for tall tales." Mask joined him with his booming laugh. Bazz B rolled his eyes at them, leaning back down into his seat.

Then he saw someone who would believe his story. She was easy to spot out of a crowd. Her signature green hair shining like a big green gem. Bazz B smiled when she came fully into his view. Candice hadn't noticed him at first. But when she finally did find him her smile matched his own.

"Come now, Come now. "Mask cut in gaining Bazz B's attention." Tell us another story. Come on, come on!" He said laying his big hand on the younger man's shoulder and giving ihm a playful shove. Bazz B did not respond and instead lifted his head to try and find Candice. She had dissappeared from where he first saw her and quickly adjusted his vision to try and find her again.

When he did her back was to him, her long green hair flowing down her back. It seemed as if she knew he was looking at her because she turned around and flashed him a more playful grin from before. The same smile flashed on Bazz B's face.

"I'll catch you later big man. "He said to Mask although he wasn't looking at him." I've got to see to something else." His comment only confused the others who watched him leave.

"What?" Mask questioned. "But, But you... we, uh-"

"How about a song Mask?" Robert questioned gaining his attetion. "You've got the voice for it."

"Yes." Mask answered." Yes, Yes I think I will."

"Hey." cut in Cang Du's sharp voice. He silently slid into place hovering over his fellow Sternritter." Show some respect. We lost as much as we gained today." His tone was enough to depress a bride on her wedding day. For this great victory and all the Soul Reapers killed during it, the Sternritter had lost some of their own as well.

"I will honor their memory. "Mask De Masculine told in a passionate voice." I will speak of the future. When the War is done I will open up a school. And there I'll teach the next generation in the art of Hand to Hand Combat!" It was as if he could see his dream already alive before him. The big man jumped to his feet and began dancing back and forth shadow boxing with himself. Encoruaging him his fellow Sternritter clapped with him.

At that same time Candice was pressed against a building. With Bazz B cornering her against it. Their bodies pressed together and meeting at the lips. Candice let out a lusty chuckle as Bazz B began kissing down her neck and to her chest. Candice occupied herself with running her hands through his wild mowhawk. It was one of her favorite things about him.

"You know..." Bazz B told between kisses." I killed an entire Division today..."

"Hm-hmm." Candice hummed. Bazz B suddenly stopped kissing her and stood up to look her in the eye.

"You believe me right?" Candice looked at him confused. Surprised at the sudden seriousness of the situation. She blinked at him.

"Yea.." She finally let out. "Sure." Bazz B's smile returned and he returned to planting kisses all over her body. At the same time his hands slid up her and towards her hair. But Candice only had to feel the slightest touch of his finger touching her hair before she lashed out and grabbed his hands. Pulling them upright. Now it was Bazz B's turn to look at Candice confused. All the while she look at him with a wide eyed start to burn a whole through even him.

"NOT THE HAIR!" She said slowly and then finally let go of his hands. Bazz B let them fall to his side and the two spent a silent second looking at eachother. Only to quickly returning to their passionate embrace.

Between the lusty moans and groans of the two they didn't hear the chuckiling until it broke out into full blown laughter. Bazz B and Candice turned around to the entrance of the alleyway to see they were being watched.

"GAH!" Both exlclaimed.

"Good job Candice." Meninas commented.

"This is very becoming of you. Giselle added beside her.

"FUCK OFF!" Candice yelled.

Like the Head-Captain Ywach made his personal quarters at Squad One. Surrounded by his personal Guard. Sternritter C Pernida Parnkgjas in his great white cloak, Sternritter D Askin Nakk Le Vaar, M Gerard Valkyrie, and Sternritter X Lille Barro the leader of the squad. The last two making their names well-known for their accomplishment of taking down a Captain class fighter.

The King stood calmly on the balcony, looking across the horizon at the aftermath of the previous battle. From there seeing the boy who would have been his enemy now his greatest asset. A small smile formed on his lips at the sight.

There came a knock at the door but the King Quincy did not stirr because of it.

"Who's there?" commanded Gerard turning to it. The door opened and in walked another sternritter, big and tall with a black chinstrap beard. "Driscoll!" Gerard exclaimed with a smile. He reached out to shake hands with his fellow Sternritter." How did your mission go?"

"Better than expected." Driscoll smiled. He turned from Gerard and went to one knee before his Master's back.

"Great Ywach." He said." I have done as you have commanded." The King Quincy did not move." I attacked the Soul Reaper Academy and rid us of any threats there." When Ywach said nothing another did.

"And?" Gerard asked. Driscoll stood back to his full height.

"There was only one who had the strength to fight me but he was far too old to hold against me. After him, the rest were child's play." His boast made his allies smile. Now there was no hope of reinforcements from any Soul Reaper anywhere. Two Victories in one day went to the Quincy.

"Well done Driscoll." Gerard said." The Title of Overkill certainly belongs with you." But Ywach ignored them as he continued to look out into the distance and at Toshiro. With everything that they'd done today included Driscoll's new development brought an idea to Ywach's head.

"That's good news your majesty." Lille said appearing at his side." Congratulations." But Ywach ignored his statement.

"It's nice to have him here guarding the Castle." Yhwach commented. Lille followed his King's sight to see him starring at Toshiro in the distance.

"Yes it is." He agreed.

"But I truly do wonder." Yhwach said putting a hand to his chin.

"Wonder what your majesty?" The King did not listen to his subject and instead point his hand out and called.

"Toshiro, come here." Toshiro stiffly rose to his full height, then turned and walked towards the King of Quincy moving as if his body was made of stone.

Yhwach turned and walked deeper into the barracks coming upon the Council chamber where the Captains would usually meet. And at the end of the room was the chair for the Head-Captain. He walked across the room and ran his hand across the chair, clearing it of any dust or debris before making himself comfortable in it.

When he looked back forward there was Toshiro silently standing there. A dark smile formed under his beard to see the former Captain Commander of the Gotei 13 his personal attack dog.

"This was once your chair." Yhwach said." And before yours it was Genryusai Yamamoto, but now look who sits in it." He leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees." Me the King of the Quincy." But despite his antagonistic speech Toshiro stood there silent as the grave." But it leaves me to wonder if a mere child as young as you knows the full truth of the history between us? The Legacy of Soul Reaper and Quincy or did Genryusai neglect that of you when he passed on his legacy?" Toshiro still said nothing. Yhwach leaned back to put himself up against the chair and crossed his legs." Whether you know it or not I plan to tell you the whole story from the very beginning."

1,000 years ago.

Soifon's grandmother of the same name and Tetsuzaemon's mother Chikane Iba were both the original Lieutenants of Squads Two and Three. And because of their Division's close proximities they were also very close.

With a cigarette in hand Chikane brought it to her lips and let in a big puff, before exhaling it into the air.

"Captain Shihouin's been riding my ass lately." Soifon commented ashing her cigarette.

"Sounds like fun." Chikane chuckled between puffs.

"You know what I mean." She grumbled." Every Day it's this, that or something." She dropped her cigarette to the ground before stepping on it and smother it out completely." I didn't know so much was going to be required of the Shihouin's."

"Speak for yourself." Chikane said. Sofion titled her head at her friend." I'm trying to make the best of this situation. And the best thing for me would be baging me a man."

"And just how will you do that?" Soifon asked with a smirk.

"Oh I Have my wiles, I-"

"Ladies." A voice of rumbling thunder said. The two Lieutenants turned around to see none other than Captain of Squad One and Commander of the entire Gotei 13 Genryusai Yamamoto standing there.

"Head-Captain." They both said turning to face him fully and bowing." Good Morning." Yamamoto returned the gesture with a gaze. His eyes looked between the two woman and then the ground between them where he saw Lieutenant Soifon's discarded cigarette butt. Silently he reached down to grab it. When Soifon herself was aware she tried to beat him too it but it was too late.

Yamamoto stood back up holding the item between his thumb and index finger.

"This." He looked at the item and then the two." Is not a designated smoking area, ladies." He told rather than informed. The sound of his voice causing even the Lieutenant of the Punishment Force to shiver but Chikane mustered herself. She ran her hand through her hair allowing it to drap over her face.

"We are sorry Head-Captain." She said leaning closer to him. Her voice was delicate but husky, causing Soifon looked at her strange. Yamamoto did not seem to notice." I can promise you it won't happen again." She reached out her hand as if to lay it on his shoulder.

He instead reached out and put the discarded cigarette into her hand.

"See that it doesn't." And with that he concluded his business with the two Lieutenants and walked away.

"Was that the 'wiles' you talked about?" Soifon snickered.

"Shut up!" Chikane replied.

The Head-Captain meanwhile continued on his way back to his own Barracks. The mighty Division of Squad One cornerstone of the Entire Gotei 13. As he made his way about the Division it's members stopped and bid him a good morning and good day.

The sounds of the Division was calm much as he liked it. Everything was in good working order, his subordinates included. But that all seemed to change as he neared his own office.

As he reached for the door he heard a strange sound, hushed little voice. And strange enough they seemed to be coming from inside his own office where he knew no one should be. With a boiling anger Yamamoto reached forward and flung the door open.

"Shunsui, Jushiro!" He roared." How many times have I told you to stay out of my room?!" There in the center of the room stood two boys. One with snow white hair the other with short brown hair. And both looked equally terrified.

"It-It wasn't me Master." Jushiro said. "It was all Shunsui's idea!" He pointed to his friend.

"No, No it was his!" Shunsui pointed back. Yamamoto reached over and grabbed the two of them by the ears.

"I can't believe the two of you!" Yamamoto roared." If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times!"

"Ow! Ow!" Jushiro groaned.

"We're sorry, We're sorry." Shunsui cried. Yamamoto let out a grunt.

"Lucky for the both of you I don't have time to administer a punishment right now. But that doesn't mean you're off the hook!" He released them both from his grasp." Go on get out of here." He pointed to the door. Jushiro did as he was told but Shunsui lingered.

"But Yama-" Shunsui said.

"I told you I'm busy now boy." Yamamoto said." Get!" And he kicked up his leg to plant his foot on little Shunsui's butt. Not a strong kick but one enough to get him moving. The boy shuffled along and joined Jushiro by the door.

Jushiro was the closest to the door so he reached up and pulled it open. But there was someone else standing there. A woman with hair as black as death sliding down past her shoulder cover her white coat.

"Boo." She said with a twisted smile causing the two boys to jump. That made a dark chuckle to exit her lips. Yamamoto stiffened up and looked across the room at the woman.

"Yachiru." He said." Leave them be." Her expression softened slightly at his command but the boys still stood there shaking." Run along now boys." And at the advice of their master they walked out the door, slipping past the Kenpachi.

"Cute kids." She said tilting her head in his direction.

"What do you want?" Yamamoto turned and faced her fully.

"I've come to tell you the Captains have gathered and are awaiting your arrival, oh great and powerful General." Yamamoto shifted his eyes to view the clock. He must have lost track of the time with Shunsui and Jushiro, Yachiru was right. He'd best get moving, how would it look if the Commander was the last to arrive to a meeting and late no less.

"Very well." He said." We'd best get moving then." He then walked into the hallway to stand behind her, closing the door behind him.

The Original Gotei 13. There was very little structure to the organization back then, only known as Divisions with no real distinction between them. There were the lower members who answered to the Lieutenants, they in turn answered to the Captains. And the Captains answered to no one except the Head-Captain himself.

And when Yamamoto pushed open the doors to the meeting hall he saw his peers standing there.

The Head of the Kuchiki Clan Captain of Squad Six Genrei Kuchiki. Master Healer Captain of Squad Four Tenjiro Kirinjo. Creator of Zanpaktou Captain of Squad Eight Oetsu Nimaiya. The Master of Names, Captain of Squad Thirteen Ichibei Hyosube. And Seven others stood with them and these 13 made up the First Generation of Captains of the Gotei 13.

They had all come from different walks of life. Rich, poor, young, old, man or woman but these were the 13 most powerful figures ever to step foot in the Soul Society. All had been handpicked by Yamamoto for this elite group.

Genrei had been an instructor at the Shinijami Academy along with Yamamoto and had been his friend for many adventures. Ichibei was a former instructor, Oetsu gave them the means to fight. But Yachiru was something different she was a deadly criminal but even she had her uses, creating the Division that dealt entirely in combat.

Unohanna walked past Yamamoto and took her place amongst the line of her peers. He himself continued on until he came to the only seated position in the room.

"Let us begin." He said when he had finally said." What news is there?"

"Head-Captain." Genrei spoke up." Our scouts return."

"It's about time." Yamamoto commented.

"They report decreasing numbers of Hollows into the Human world."

"Good, Good." Tenjiro spoke. "One less thing to worry about." But Yamamoto was not so certain. He was sure that wasn't all the news there was.

"Allow me to finish young Kirinjo." Genrei said. He shifted his eyes back to Yamamoto." They report Hollows being exterminated but not by any of their means."

"What does that mean?" Tenjiro questioned." How could they know such a thing unless they themselves did it?"

"The Quincy." Yamamoto answered him. A sudden chill filled the room.

"The Quincy?" Ichibei spoke." They are becoming quite the problem." He scratched at his head which was full of hair back then. "This wouldn't be the First time they've caused problems for us."

"And I doubt it'll be the last." Genrei added. He turned to Yamamoto.

"Then something should be done about it." Tenjiro said. And then the Kenpachi spoke up.

"Let me deal with this problem." She spoke." I'll give the Quincy exactly what they deserve."

"Enough." Yamamoto said. Everyone turned and watched the Head-Captain as he rose from his chair." The Quincy problem is one we have to deal with. There cannot be an imbalance of Souls lest we risk the destruction of both worlds." Yamamoto rose from his seat and stood before the group." I will be meet with their King and discuss this." No one spoke out against this idea, but their shifting eyes proved their doubt.

"You can't go alone though." Genrei spoke as he stepped up." Let me come with you." Yamamoto gave him a small nod.

"As you wish." He turned to the rest." Would anyone else like to accompany me?"

"I will." Yachiru said.

"This is a matter of diplomacy." Yamamoto told." Not bloodshed."

"You waste time by trading words with the Quincy." Yachiru answered." The only answer they'll understand is blood." Yamamoto narrowed his eyes at her.

"I have made up my mind." He said in a grunt." And we will do this my way." The other Captains were all standing on edge. They all might answer to Yamamoto but Yachiru was ever the defiant one, even on the most basic of matters. But she did not press this issue here and instead smiled a big toothy smile.

"As you wish, General." She spat the title out like a soft venom.

The Quincy lived far across the Soul Society and well away from the establishment of the Gotei 13. Their home was in Silbern. It once was a small place with less than a dozen settlements. But almost overnight the area had tripled in size as the Quincy adopted more and more lands to their ever growing population.

And the Capital of this growing empire was Wandenreich, a great white fortress and home of the Quincy King.

Much like the original Gotei 13 the Sternritter were much smaller than what they would eventually become. In those days it was only headed by Ywach's closest and most trusted friends. The Leader of his elite group was Hubert, and currently the Commander was standing along the palace walls looking out for any suspicious or unusual activity. He would see some today.

At first he didn't see them at all, but then they came one after the other over the hillside. First as little black dots in the distance but then became full-fledged figures in his sight. And he watched them as they got closer and closer until they stopped right before the palace gates.

"Who goes there?" Hubert commanded from above. The figure at the head of the group raised his head and answered.

"I." Yamamoto said stepping up." Genryusai Yamamoto, Captain of Squad One and Captain Commander of the Gotei 13."

"You have no business here Soul Reaper." Hubert spat." Leave! Before we make you." But his petty threats did not alarm Yamamoto, nor did his advanced numbers.

"I've come to speak with your King." He stated.

"You have no business with the King."

"I shall not leave until my business is settled." Yamamoto responded. Hubert was getting tense now but he would not betray his King. Instead he lowered the gates and went out himself to meet the three Soul Reapers.

"If your matter is so important." He said." Tell it to me and I will deliver your message."

"I'll speak only with your King. "Yamamoto answered." Step aside." He growled." Or I will make you."

"Yes." Yachiru hissed behind him. But Hubert would not look a fool in his own home infront of his own men. He gripped the sword at his waste and stomped forward, hovering over Yamamoto." Go now!" He grinded his teeth together." Or I will make you!" But his bravado still did not frighten Yamamoto, who slowly began reaching for his own sword. Yachiru smiled as she watched him, preparing to do the same.

"As you wish." Yamamoto said. But before any blood could be spilt the doors to the Palace opened wide as if pushed by a gust of wind. And what followed was a deep, echoing voice.

"Let him inside." It commanded. Hubert now backed down.

"You may go." He said to Yamamoto. The Commander took a step forward but was quickly stopped." Alone." He said looking to the other Captains. His eyes then shifted to Ryujin Jakka." And weaponless." For the purpose of this audience Yamamoto could abide by that. Beside his sword wasn't his only weapon. He tore the blade from his hip and handed it off to Genrei. Then without being instructed moved past Hubert and into the Palace.

Until at last he came upon the man he was looking for. Ywach son of the Soul King, the first Quincy and therefore the King of all Quincy.

He sat tall and thin with his back pressed against his throne. A cloak of all white but with black hair and a thin black beard around his face. He was a young man, no doubt twice as young as Yamamoto.

"Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto." He said when he saw the man enter the room." I am pleased to finally meet you." The Captain Commander said nothing in reply but kept the grim look about his face." Yes." He nodded." I know who you are, your reputation presences you. Even here we know the name of Genryusai Yamamoto." Ywach told.

"I'm not here to discuss what other people think." Yamamoto told. To him they were just silly stories." I'm here to discuss a far more serious matter." There was a grim look across the Head-Captain's face." The matter of you Quincy." Ywach leaned forward in his chair.

"Why?" He asked." Of what concern are we to you?"

"You are an entirely new race. "Yamamoto told." It couldn't have been more than a hundred years ago that you first came to be." Ywach said nothing but strummed his fingers along his throne." But in that short amount of time you must have noticed how things function. To Guard the World of the Living, the Souls it possesses and the extermination of Hollows has been the job of the Soul Reapers. Our methods allow us to do all three. But you Quincy for lack of knowledge or understanding continue to meddle in these affairs."

"You kill Hollows as well Genryusai. "Ywach said.

"Soul Reapers do not kill Hollows we cleanse them, by means of our Zanpaktou. It allows their spirit to be purified and so that they may live again. But you Quincy simply exterminate them. Thus upsetting the balance of not only the Soul Society but the World of the Living. If such actions continued in the future it would lead only to one thing. Destruction."

"And what would you have me do?" Ywach questioned.

"We can end this right now. You" He pointed to Ywach." And I" he placed the same hand on his chest." One way or another."

"You make a demand of me? Here?! In my own halls?!" The old man's eyes squinted.

"Yes."

"Hollows are vile creatures that allowed their spirits to be corrupted in the first place. To rid the world of them is not disservice but a right."

"You cannot comprehend the forces you unleash." Yamamoto warned. If Ywach wanted to know how he got the nickname of 'Demon' he only had to push this matter just a little more.

"It doesn't have to be this way." Ywach said." There is something going on here much greater than the Quincy or Soul Reaper. We need not be enemies Genryusai Yamamoto, there is much we could do together." He held out his hand. An offer of peace, an offer for a new start, the dawning of a new era. But Yamamoto looked down at the hand as if it was poisoned.

He didn't need to voice his answer, it was more than apparent. Ywach must have known that but held out for some false hope. But still his eyes bugged open as his hand balled into a fist.

"Get out!" Ywach yelled his voice echoing around the halls. But Yamamoto didn't have to be told twice. Without another word he turned and left the way he came.

Waiting outside were Genrei and Yachiru where he had left them, surrounded by more than a dozen Quincy.

"Get out of my way. "Yamamoto commanded as he pushed his way passed them." Let's go." He said to his underlings.

The trip back to their homes was a quiet one. And all that time Yamamoto was quiet. He wouldn't say what had happened, not on the trip back or in the meeting after. It was clear how the conversation went.

"Now we must think of something else." Genrei said when the Captain's meeting had been called.

"I told you." Yachiru hissed." I told you, I told you, I told you." She said breaking out into a soft cackle." But you didn't listen did you?" She began to cross the room, her feet making hardly any noise as she glided along to stand before the Head-Captain. His head was rest in his hand and once more he squinted his eyes at her as she came closer." No." she shook her head when she was before him." You didn't. And now we have only one other choice." The Captain's all shifted their eyes around to each other while Yamamoto and Yachiru continued to look at each other. But his stern, solemn face was not the reaction she wanted." Unless you're afraid." She said reaching out and touching him.

In one swift motion Yamamoto shot up from his chair bringing his arm up to punch Yachiru in the mouth, and he didn't hold back. He sent her onto her back where she slid across the room. When she looked up he was standing over her and was pointed a thick finger in her face.

"Never put your hands on me again." He commanded. She hid her face from his sight, hiding behind her long black hair. Perhaps Yamamoto had not seen it as he turned to the rest of them but Genrei had. The small smile on Yachiru's lips." Our choice is clear now." He said addressing the rest of them." The Quincy had their choice and they took it." He paused a moment." 0600 tomorrow." With nothing else to say he turned and walked out of the room and no one dared to follow. He was like a ticking time bomb ready to explode. Yachiru enjoyed this fierce side to him, the burning demon within. She had seen it before, all the Captains had seen it before. And now the Quincy would.

The next morning the sun rose high. But it was not the typical bright, golden ball of fire normally seen in the sky. Today this one was red.

On the border of the Soul Society there was a Quincy Village. The population could have been no more than a few hundred, had it's own irrigation, transportation. A friendly little spot where it's residence got along with everyone, even some of the Soul Reapers when they passed by.

This day was the same for them as any other. When the sun rose the farmers went to work on their fields, Fathers left to work for the day while mothers stayed at home. The children were playing in the streets. Running back and forth with smiles on their faces and laughter in their lungs.

Then all at once the street, the buildings, the homes and all the children disappeared. Engulfed in a great ball of fire. The others who were not in the blast came outside to bare witness to the destruction and try to find it's cause. They would soon have their answer.

Coming out of the fire and smoke was were hundreds of Soul Reapers, swords drawn and ready for blood. But they would meet little resistance here in this small village.

But this wasn't a village of fighters, only simple farmers. They weren't soldiers and hardly had the means to defend themselves. But that didn't stop the attack.

Yamamoto watched the chaos from the center of the town. Where he watched his flames engulf everything in sight. Men and woman screamed alike in terror as their skin boiled and blistered, falling right off the bone. And Yamamoto just stood back with unforgiving eyes.

And one that day every Soul Reaper did their duty.

Yachiru's Minazuki hissed when 'bankai' was spoken. She put it over her shoulder and with the slightest flick from her fingers touched the brick walls of homes, immediately engulfing them. The shrieks and cries she heard was music to her ears.

Genrei simply waved his hand casting bakudo from his hand. It lashed out like a wip, wrapping around a fleeing Quincy's leg and dragging him back to Genrei.

"No, No." He cried in mercy." Please don't." But with one swift stroke of his sword it was done.

Not even the children were safe. Babies were ripped from their mother's arms and tossed into the burning fire or smashed against the ground. It didn't take long before the entire population of the village was gone. And just in time to.

This action had finally done it's work. Shifting his head Yamamoto could see a large force over the horizon. There he saw nearly the entire Quincy army, out in full force. Hubert and most importantly King Ywach was at it's head. Now the real battle would begin.

"Captains!" Yamamoto yelled raising his sword above his head. At the beginning of this day their cloaks had been white as snow but now they were drenched in red. They turned their heads up to see their leader leaving his pile of ash and charge into their foes.

Yachiru quickly came up on his right, Genrei at his left and Ichibei at his back and the entire Gotei 13 following after. And it was there on the border of the Soul Society that the forces of the Gotei 13 and Quincy clashed.

Swords swung down in fury, reish arrows shot left and right. Blood splattered everywhere as limbs were torn apart. Yamamoto drove his sword forward slicing down another Quincy. And when he did he came face to face with another foe.

"You!" Hubert called. Yamamoto turned his head to see the Quincy coming at him." Monster!" He yelled as he swung his blade.

"Bankai." Yamamoto said as Hubert came at him." Zanki No Tachi West." A great wave of fire, greater than any other that day appeared around his sword. And with one slash of his flaming sword Yamamoto cut through Hubert's blade and then into him. But before the blade even touched him his skin had already begun to melt. And by the time the blade hit him Hubert was no more than ash. And all around him hundreds more Quincy were falling just like him.

They later developed a phrase for the task set about that day. "The only good Quincy is a Dead Quincy". That was the price of this defiance. Yamamoto had warned of this outcome and now the price would be paid.

His eyes scanned the battlefield around him. The Quincy had come in full force, as they began clashing against his own. But Yamamoto looked for one in particular. Eventually he saw Ywach's head popping up from the crowd, the only problem was there was an entire battlefield between them. Soul Reapers and Quincy fighting back and forth blocked his path. But not for long.

Yamamoto gripped Ryujin Jakka with both hands and with one swing a wall of fire shot from his blade and burned the path for him. His Quincy foes were eliminated and the Soul Reapers killed were no one importance, lowly unseated officers. Ywach raised his cape to cover himself from the heat. And when he looked up he saw Yamamoto using the burned bodies as a bridge. Some had even managed to survive, some of his own. But Yamamoto paid them no mind even as they screamed in pain as he stepped over them.

"What have you done?!" he cried.

"I gave you the choice!" Yamamoto said pointing at him." This is the consequence for your defiance, boy!" Ywach jumped at him. And Yamamoto with the fire of his bankai surrounding his sword lunged forward and prepared for the attack as well.

"And the rest as they say is history." And with that Yhwach concluded the history of the Soul Reaper and Quincy blood feud. Told by the only person alive who could tell it in it's entirety. But despite the thrilling tale as Yhwach knew it Toshiro still showed no emotion over it whatsoever. Right now he would have preferred him undead if only to see the look of dread upon his face.

"But having finally achieved my goal and defeating the Gotei 13 I must admit." He let out a sigh as he uncrossed his legs." It is a hollow victory." His eyes turned on Toshiro once more." The Original Gotei 13 would never have been defeated this easily. They would have fought to the last man, sacrificing each other before their home was taken. Genruysai would have every burned every barrack to the ground before he let me take it." Despite them being his enemies, who butchered his people Ywach could only speak highly of those original thirteen. They knew the cost of war and the price that had to be paid for it. Originally Ywach wouldn't have, but a thousand years is a long time to change one's mind. He titled his head to Toshiro." I don't know if he went soft or if you maybe weren't up to the task." He pushed himself up to his full height and stood over Toshiro." But the true Gotei 13 died a thousand years ago." He took a few steps away from Toshiro so that he could view outside the window better. The zombified Toshiro simply stood in his place.

"But they are still out there." Yhwach said looking out into the distance. "What's left of your order." He turned back now and faced Toshiro looking into his cold, dead blue eyes." When I'm done here I'm going to hunt down every last one of them just as you once did to us." He turned away and looked to the sky." And I know just how to do it."
