Author's Note: Okay… I knew I wouldn't be able to write the prompts in order, but I tried my best. In the last section, I wrote fluffy Leorai, and this time, I went and wrote a more tragic Leorai story. I really hope you all enjoy!

He had done it.

The Shredder lay dead at Leonardo's feet, his head separated from his body. Blood flowed liberally from the lifeless corpse, congealing in a thick puddle under his shining armor. The kuro kabuto lay at his feet and Oroku Saki's glazed eyes stared up at him from beneath the visor.

He had won.

Leo sheathed his bloody katanas and looked around him. When the Shredder had fallen, his surviving minions had fled like rats off of a sinking ship. That didn't matter. They were no longer a threat.

He had defeated his enemy. He had silenced the threat against his family once and for all. The cost had been high, but In the end, destiny had proclaimed him to be the victor.

A wave of nauseating pain washed over him and he doubled over, grasping his plastron. He looked down at the double slashes from Shredder's claw that had sliced completely through the plating, slashing the vulnerable flesh beneath. The cuts were deep and he could feel blood coursing through his fingers like a leaking dam. He vaguely remembered receiving the wound during the fight, right before he had delivered the killing blow. He'd ignored it at first, but now the wound was screaming in protest.

He felt his legs give out and he collapsed against the wall, still holding his hemorrhaging chest. He had already lost too much blood and could not support his own weight any longer. He needed to get home; to call Donnie and get him to stop the bleeding. His hand groped at his belt, but the T-Phone was missing. He looked around, hoping it had fallen nearby, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Horror built up in Leo's chest as he watched his blood pooling underneath him. He was going to die here. But that wasn't right. Death wasn't the thing that he really feared. It was dying alone, and he was as alone as he could possibly be.

"Leo?"

He lifted his head toward the sound of the soft voice that had called to him. There she stood, like an angel of mercy. She had vanished almost six months before, but now she was here when he needed her most.

"Karai…?" he gasped shortly.

She smiled as she knelt down next to him. Her armor shone in the light of the building, making her looking almost celestial. Maybe she really was an angel.

"It's been a long time."

"Yeah… I guess it has been."

She looked around at the carnage, a puzzled look on her face.

"Where are your brothers?" She asked curiously.

"They're back… back at the lair. I… I thought I could take care… of this." He managed, his breath coming in shallow spurts. The pain swept through his being like a wildfire and burned just as hotly.

"So, you're here alone?" She asked incredulously as she lifted an eyebrow in disapproval.

"Y-Yeah."

His head was swimming, which couldn't be good. The odor of coppery blood hung in the humid air like a poisonous fog, choking him even more. She frowned, obviously condemning him for his decision to be here alone.

"That was really stupid, you know."

"I thought… I thought I…stop Shredder…on my own. I just wanted to be… a hero, you know?"

"I know," she said kindly. "You are a hero."

He felt his vision dimming. Time was quickly running out for him. Panic filled his mind and he sought out Karai's beautiful amber eyes. He reached out to grab her slim fingers, desperate for any kind of comfort.

"Please… Please, don't… leave me here… alone."

His hand passed through her outstretched fingers. Dismayed, he tried to grasp her hand again, only to brush through empty air. The truth hit him with the force of a sledgehammer.

"You're… not really there… are you?"

She shook her head sadly, her eyes swimming with remorse.

"I'm sorry, Leo. I really am."

Words failed him. The disappointment was heavier than he might have assumed. Now he was going to die here. Alone. With only his hallucinations to comfort him. As his world slowly faded into darkness for the last time, he saw his brothers' faces in his mind's eye and his last conscious thought was that he wished that he could tell them how sorry he was.
