Mona wasn't really the kind of girl for surprises, so when she said that she had one for him, Raph was both nervous and really excited. Those feelings turned into sheer terror when she covered his eyes with her large hands and began leading him out of the common room of the Fugitoid's ship.

"Mona? Where the heck are we going?"

"Trust me, Raphael. I think that you are going to like this."

He was sure that he would. It was probably something awesome, like a fire breathing rock monster she had wrangled, or a new mech suit for them to try out. He had mentally prepared himself to disembark from the ship when she turned him sharply into a room and forced him to sit down in a chair.

"Alright. Open your eyes," Mona said as she lifted her hands from his face.

Raph opened his eyes and stared. What the heck was that? Whatever it was, it was round, covered in something bright yellow and gooey, and crawling with mealworms and something that looked like purple pepperoni. For a long time, he was positively stunned into silence, staring at the scariest pizza he had ever seen. And that was saying something; knowing what he knew about Mikey's adventurous cooking.

"What do you think?" Mona asked eagerly, cocking her head to the side. Raph swallowed hard, trying to think of the right thing to say.

"Um… this looks… great!"he said, his voice squeaking a little in his attempt to sound genuine. She saw through his deception at once and her shoulders sagged slightly, announcing her disappointment.

"Is this not right?" Mona asked, puzzled. "I thought… I believed that this was what a 'pizza' looked like."

Raph was immediately terrified that he had offended her and rushed to make it right.

"No, no, no! It's perfect!" He grabbed a slice and stuffed it in his mouth. He gagged a little on a mealworm, but he forced himself to choke it down. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he looked up at her and smiled weakly. "See? I love it."

Her face blossomed into a wide smile and she picked up a slice of her own.

"I am glad, Raphael. I was afraid that this wasn't the right kind of pizza."

She took a bite from her slice and made a terrible face.

"Ugh. This is quite terrible, Raphael. Do all turtles like this 'pizza'?"

Raph roared with laughter as he pressed his forehead against the Think-A-Food machine's controls.

"Here. Let me show you something else. Pizza gyoza is a million times better."
