This is the latest ever. It is 3:30 in the morning.

I am so tired! But I'm even more determined to keep up with these chapters, no matter what.

So enjoy please!

We had been driving for about half an hour now, and I was getting restless. The wait was almost unbearable, as well as not being able to see anything. The worst part was that it felt like we we're moving at all, and the only thing keeping me from taking off the blindfold was Ratchet who was accompanying my hands. I had tried to get something out of him, a small hint to elaborate on in my head, but he wouldn't budge. I told him how I thought we weren't moving, and he just laughed saying; 'It's all in the plan.' which led me to think what this magical plan was.

Since I had decided we weren't moving, my best scenario I could come up with is that Ratchet had some mates set something up inside the garage. Clean it possibly? But even that seemed far fetched as we would definitely hear them moving all the junk around, and Ratchet would definitely want to try and sort it out, rather than throw it away. That was why it hadn't been done yet, and I could only hope that the rest of our holiday wouldn't be shrouded in junk.

"We're here!" The Lombax finally spoke after maybe 10 minutes of silence. I reached u[ to pull the blindfold off, but he quickly stopped me, his reflexes lightning quick.

"Not quite yet." Was all he said before he guided me out of the car.

It was almost heaven to be finally free of the car, even if I still couldn't see anything. The fresh air, though thin, was great in comparison into the stale air in the car, and at slow breeze felt great on my tail. With our hands as a pair, Ratchet guided me forward to the secret destination we had taken so long to get to. As we walked away from the car, I heard it speed off and thought 'We we're definitely home. If we weren't Ratchet would've paid the driver to stay and wait.

"Okay, you can take it off now." That sentence was music to my ears. My eyes were hungry for a view that wasn't a very dark one. I almost ripped the blindfold off.

For about a minute, I was rubbing my eyes, adjusting to the view. It was bright - Really bright. We definitely weren't inside, unless Ratchet had recently installed some fluro lights. but I doubted it. Eventually the glare from the sun subsided enough for me to gasp at the view before me. We were up high. Really high. The city below us looked like a civilisation for ants from up here, all the busses, cars and people were barely visible. The city itself also seemed far away since we weren't directly above it. The tallest tower barely reached the mountain we stood on.

Eventually I looked up at the sky. The planet above us seemed twice as large as it did from down below, as if you could reach out and touch it.

While I was awestruck looking at the view, Ratchet wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close.

"Stunning isn't it?" His calm voice was the only sound to whisper through the thin air. We we're quite literally alone up here, far away from everyone else.

"It's gorgeous…" I spoke softly, matching Ratchets calm tone. When I had initially came to this planet, I thought it was boring and barren. But from up here you can really see the beauty of the place. Wheat farms were dotted around the area, and emerald green trees dotted with a dark purple fruit seemed to survive amongst the heap. It really was a beautiful planet.

"I used to come up here all the time before I met Clank. I would sit here all day and just wonder what lay outside the planet. I didn't have my pilots license, nor enough money to hire a ship so I was stuck here till I built my own."

I nodded without breaking away from the view before me. I felt like I was in a trance. The view was almost surreal, like I was in a dream… But it wasn't a dream.

"Oh, I almost forgot." The Lombax said sneakily, grabbing my right hand. He pulled it up towards the sky, I felt like my hand had been indulged in the softest pillow of all time. It wasn't until I looked up and my now damp glove to realise it was a cloud. A cloud literally right above our heads.

"How high up are we?" I question in yet another wave of awe. The science of this planet seemed almost impossible! Yet here it was. This planet was slowly creeping into my favourite few.

"About 2 kilometers up, and this is only the 4th tallest mountain on the planet. Double this size and that is what the tallest is like…" He drifted off. For a couple of minutes we both just stared at the view, going over each house, building and ant-sized person we saw. But Ratchet being Ratchet decided to add another surprise.

I barely realised that he had slipped away from me for a second. When I eventually turned around, there was a shoebox waiting for me in the hands of the man I was with. A shoebox? A fairly weird gift to be given 2 kilometers above ground… Let's hope we're not walking down.

The box was heavy in my hands when he passed it to me, which made me all the more curious. It was obviously not going to be shoes, it was way too heavy. A new gun maybe? That would be sweet...

I quickly opened the box, and ripped off the plastic cover to reveal as set of crimson grind boots. Not for the first time today I was lost for words.

"Remember the foot massage the night before last?" He asked me.

"Did you get my exact foot size from a 5 minute foot massage?"

"Put it on and we'll find out." Was all he said, sounding certain of himself and I knew it was going to be perfect. It would've surprised me if it wasn't.

I slipped them on to find them unsurprisingly perfect, as well as comfortable. Not to mention the foot massage itself was great. When I had both of mine on, I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek for his effort. But the question still hung in the air. How were we going to get down?

As if I had spoken aloud, a grin crept onto Ratchets face, and I could tell it wasn't from the small kiss I just gave him.

"Okay, so you're probably wondering how we're going to get back home without a ride, right?" His smile got bigger and I swear he could read minds.

"Yeah…" 'Did I say that out loud?' I thought quickly

"Okay, well do you trust me?" Now that was a really stupid and obvious answer.

"Yes, of course!"
"Then close your eyes." I obeyed his instruction and was left with the image of his giddy smile. What was he up to?

Before I had any time to react, he had picked me up off the ground and started to run toward the cliff.

The cliff that was the 4th highest summit on planet Veldin.

The cliff with a 2000 meter drop.

And then we were midair...

I could've screamed, and I almost did. The wind was hard against my face, and I felt like I was struggling to stay close to Ratchet, but he never let go of my hand. I opened my eyes to see what was going on. He was equipping some on wrist mounted gadget which gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing. He probably did it for the scare… Well it worked.

After the initial shock wore off, I was actually starting to enjoy the surprise HALO jump, though still curious as to how we would land safely.

It took less than a minute for me to get my answer as a faint green glow appeared in the distance below us, and Ratchet smiled at the sight of it. I now realised that the gadget this on his wrist was an older swingshot model, maybe even the first, and his whole plan finally made sense. He said he used to come up here all the time. I bet this was something he did all the time too…

"Okay, brace yourself!" The Lombax shouted over the wind. He crept closer to me till his hand was tightly woven around my waist, and we prepared for what was going to happen next.

I don't know how he could even manage to aim and fire the swingshot at this speed, let alone be on target. But he did all that whilst we were fung round and round the versa target. I struggled to keep up with the g's that were tugging at me like crazy, but they eventually subsided and I was still connected to Ratchet. We both laughed like crazy from the adrenaline, and I knew why Ratchet would do something like this on a regular basis. Fun. An boy was it fun. We would definitely be doing this again before we left back to Polaris.

Soon enough, Ratchet and I were swinging casually along the trail of versa targets. We were in a previously hidden forest, swinging just above the treetops, enjoying the view. This was possibly the best date ever.

Soon enough though, things had to change, and Ratchet quickly had me get on his most recent swingshot for the upcoming section. The trail split off into two parts, I would go left, and he would go right. As soon as we had spilt off, I tried to go as fast as I could, this had now become a race.

I used every single piece of momentum I could find to boost myself forward into the lead. After 2 minutes, I had slowed down to a more casual pace though. I was sure that the two paths would meet up again soon. Sooner rather than later I hoped.

I was admiring a flock of birds that were flying through the air in a V shape went something hit me in midair, and I veered off course.

"Look down and try to land right." Ratchet spoke into my ear. I did as he said, and saw a metal pipe below us. No, it was a rail. It was time to test out my new present…

The landing was harsh, but not undoable. It only took me a second to realise just how hard this extreme sport was. Keeping balance was a constant challenge, and I was just glad I had Ratchet right behind me, keeping me up straight. The speed that these grindboots could get up to was phenomenal, especially downhill.

Not even a minute of grinding had passed when we reached a tunnel. It was pitch black in there and I swear if Ratchet hadn't been keeping me upright I'd be lost in here for a while. The light from the entrance had quickly gotten smaller and smaller until it was unseeable. Maybe the lights were just off in this particular tunnel? I dont know.

Suddenly a faint glow filled the room, like someone had remember to turn the lights of at this particular spot, but no. Glow worms filled the walls and ceiling, illuminating the track and everything around it, which was only a bit of rock and the tunnel itself of course.

At first, though not for the first time today, I just stared in amazement as each little worm turned blue as it's neighbours did, like they were lighting the way for us.

"So how did you find this place?" I asked the man behind me who was still keeping me up.

"It's a long story including a lot of rule breaking and Lombax ingenuity. But I'll tell you another time." I heard him chuckle. He had a lot of things to tell me still. I now knew about all his big adventures through the time we spent in hospital. From Chairman Drek to the time he got frame by Klunk, yes whenever his cheek wasn't hurting, he was always yapping away ignoring the nurses who told him not to overdo it.

"Alright, for the next bit you're going to need to jump."

"And how do I do that?"

"Bend your knees, the push up. The boots will automatically disengage and reengage, so you just need to worry about how you're going to land. Otherwise this may not turn out to be the best date after all" He laughed again, and I rolled my eyes. This better be easy I thought to myself.

"3, 2, 1,jump! Ratchet suddenly shouted into my ear. My reflexes were quick though, and I managed to get airborne, only to find out that there was no more track to land on.

We had just jumped into the middle of a lava pit. I could feel the heat from the red magma below us already burning me. In a few seconds, gravity would do it's thing and we probably would see tomorrow.

'How the hell were we going to get out of this one?' I thought to myself.

Not too bad was it? :P
