Hehehe, bare with me for I have made a mistake. I know that I put earlier that the second class was only a week ago from this day, but it was a mistake XD. Class has actually been going on for a few weeks, it's just that Jimmy and Cindy have cooled down with their class drama during that time. I need to get my shit together I am aware. With that corrected, enjoy this chapter and have a great time :3

"Why did you guys think that this was something you guys couldn't tell me?!" Cindy said with a mixture of confusion and hurt on her face. This was not what she had wanted to come home to.

Two of her closest friends just making out on her couch at one in the morning.

Cindy narrowed her eyes at her red-haired friend and dropped her bags on the floor before walking over to her. She grabbed her by the arm and whispered urgently, "Can I see you in the kitchen?"

Zoe nodded weakly and was pulled into the separate space away from the boys. Cindy dropped her arm roughly and said, "What the hell, Zoe?! Why did you not just tell me that you guys were together. Geez, I would have just accepted it!"

For the first time in a while, Zoe actually looked embarrassed; which was a sharp contrast to her usual confident and I-don't-give-a-shit attitude. She gave a lopsided, unsure smile and replied back quietly, "I don't know. I thought that you had a lot on your plate already with finals coming up and the fact that you had to deal with Neutron every Friday evening. I thought that if I told you about me and Adam, you would feel like I was sort of leaving you behind to figure out all this on your own."

Cindy's face softened. She dropped her head and sighed in defeat. There was no way that she could be mad at Zoe for trying to mean well about the situation. She looked back up to her roommate who was biting her lip in anxiety as she waited for a response.

"I'm still pissed, but I understand where you are coming from. But, c'mon, you could've done a better job with you guys just going at it in our living room."

Zoe gave a smile and replied sheepishly, "I guess the time sort of got away from us."

Cindy smiled back and laughed, "I mean I suppose I should have guessed it sooner, I mean come on, you could practically feel the sexual tension between you too."

Giving and laugh and playful shove, Zoe retaliated back, "I am not the only one who is at fault here, Cind. There is a certain young professor who is currently trying to make awkward small talk with my boyfriend in our living room."

Cindy felt her cheeks grow red and started to recount the past events of the day her roommate. When she was done, she could not help but to see that Zoe was giggling at her words.

"You guys got stuck in a closet together? Aren't you guys a little too old to be playing 'Seven Seconds in Heaven'" Zoe smirked at Cindy as she moved back against the counter and crossed her arms.

Cindy rolled her eyes and replied, "I do not know what I am doing. I mean I was able to avoid him for this long. And now Adam is probably very confused to what is going on right now with Neutron being here."

Zoe waved her hand in the air and said, "Oh no, he already knows about everything that is going on. I had to catch him up to explain why you blushed so often in his class."

Cindy smacked her forehead with her hand and muttered, "Perfect."

Zoe gave her a sympathetic smile before grabbing her arm and leading her back into the main room where both guys were sitting on the couch with their hands placed in their laps.

Time to settle the storm.

Adam rose from where he was sitting and said, "Cindy, I know that this must look like some pretty messed up shite, bu-"

Cindy interrupted with a warm smile and said, "It's all good, Adam. I know that you guys were just looking out for me. No hard feelings, I am really happy for you guys. Just next time don't do it on my couch."

Adam gave her a cheeky smile and replied, "But what's the fun in that, mate?"

Zoe walked over quickly to her boyfriend's side and said, "Well, all this has really been a lot of fun, but Adam really needs to finish his project so we are going to bounce to his place." She was practically grabbing her bag and pushing him out the door.

Adam nervously said to Jimmy, "She means a project for another class! I uh totally have the work done for your class."

Jimmy raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms before smirking, "Well? Is that is the case, then I suppose you have no problem going first in class with your presentation."

Adam gave a nervous smile and wave back at the pair before he was pushed out the door by the red-headed young adult. The sound of the door shutting reminded Cindy that she was now alone with her teacher in her apartment.

Damn it, Zoe.

(A/N: HA HA HA BET YOU THOUGHT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A CLIFFHANGER RIGHT THERE! NOT TODAY!11!)

Cindy and Jimmy looked at each other at the newfound silence that had now taken place. She started to smile slowly while he did the same. It was not long before they were both laughing like crazy until tears started to form in their eyes.

Cindy looked up long enough to see Jimmy break his cool composure to laugh along with her. He looked like the kid she grew up with that cared more about having fun than giving out lessons and tests. It was nice to see a glimpse of youth in her friend's eyes.

It reminded her that there was more to Jimmy than just being her teacher.

Jimmy wiped his eyes and spoke in a light-hearted tone, "Today was an exceptional day."

Cindy wiped hers as well and smiled at his words. "It seems like there is always a surprise in every corner for us." She looked at the clock above her lit fireplace and saw that it was super late.

Jimmy looked at the clock as well for he got up from where he was sitting and picked up some of the shopping bags that were his. He cleared his throat softly and said, "Well, it is getting pretty late outside. I have an important meeting later today with some corporations that are interested in investing in my company, so it is probably best that I go get some sleep."

"Yeah, ok I'll walk you out."

They walked to the front door where Jimmy opened it but turned around slowly to face Cindy. He said in a hesitant voice, "I had a really good time today, Vortex. It reminded me that you are still just as head-strong as I remembered."

Cindy rolled her eyes playfully and leaned against the doorframe with her arms crossed. She looked at him with her head cocked to the side and replied, "I guess that it beats grading papers, hm?"

He grinned and gave Cindy another flash of hope. That's all she was living off of lately: hope. She knows that she could never be together with Jimmy because of his position, but there is something inside her that is keeps pushing the boundaries. Something that understands that this could potentially be something if the circumstances were different.

Neutron said, "I know that lately things might have been a tad strange between us, given our situation. But I am grateful that you were able to welcome me back into your life." He smirked after this and teased, "In a completely platonic way, of course." He reached for her hand and squeezed it softly before turning around and leaving down the hall.

Cindy gave herself a small smile with a hint of sadness.

This all that they will ever be with each other.

Friendly enemies.

She closes her eyes for a brief moment in order to collect herself in the front of her door. If anyone were to go out of their door, they would have thought that she was looking really weird.

Cindy is used to weird by now.

Before she goes inside though, she hears someone approaching her but she keeps her eyes closed because she really does not want to see anyone at the moment, no matter how creepy she must look to the common bystander.

All of a sudden she heard a small intake of breath right in front of her and then soft lips gently taking her own.

It was like it was all a dream and that if she opened her eyes the illusion would have been ruined right in front of her.

A dream.

The kiss was gentle and non-demanding, almost as if it was trying to settle her nerves.

As sudden as it came, Cindy felt the lips leave hers and when she opened her eyes all that was in the hall was her.

What a day.

Omg. I wonder who that was.

Again I am sorry about the mistake I made, but hopefully that clears some stuff up lolz.

Please leave a review and let me know what you think! I really read them all and try to take everyone into consideration.

Thanks!
