Hey peeps! I'm back from the death! Still studying for finals, but I took a day off to write the next chapter for IBTfY! So, where did we leave off? Right, SCORP WOKE UP! :3 I knew that was gonna happen XD Let's see what Albus thinks, shall we?
Enjoy!
Chapter 10:
"Why can't I see him?" Albus whined. As soon as he heard Scorpius had woken up, he dropped his quill (spilling ink all over his Potions essay) and immediately ran to the Hospital Wing. Now, however, Madam Valderrama wouldn't let him in.
"He is still incredibly weak," she said.
"Miss, you know how bad I've missed him! Please?" he whined again, pouting this time.
"Oh, alright. Don't ever pout like that again, it's annoying," she said, slightly smirking.
"Great!"
He ran inside and immediately saw Scorpius sitting upright on his bed, drinking something he apparently didn't like, judging by the look on his face.
"Scorp!"
"Wha-" Scorpius couldn't finish his sentence, as Albus enveloped him in a tight hug.
"Scorp! I've missed you so much!"
"Y-You have?" Scorpius said, clearly touched.
"Of course! You're my best friend! I've been worried sick over you!"
Somehow, Scorpius felt a little hurt when Albus called him his "friend", but at the same time, he felt extremely happy. Albus had indeed missed him, proving Danni had been lying the other day.
"Have I missed much?" Scorpius said, clearing his throat.
"So much! Rose and I have made up! You probably don't know we even had a fallout, I'll tell you about that later, but we made up! And Ricky came to freaking apologize! Damon and I ended our friendship. It just wouldn't work anymore. I can't be friends with someone who doesn't accept my other friends. Ricky also fell out with Damon, he even went to Professor Vector this morning. Merlin, I'm just so happy you're awake!"
Scorpius swallowed. "Uhm, about Ricky going to Professor Vector, he didn't do that… See, while I was lying here, I heard what you guys said to me, only I couldn't respond. One time, Ricky came to me and he said he was sorry. I listened to him speak, and I heard he was sincere, and I've decided to give him another chance. However, when he was apologizing to me, he also told me he didn't plan on going anymore. I don't know why, but it seemed he was… Uhm… Never mind, he just didn't want to go anymore." It didn't seem like a good idea to tell Albus everything Ricky had told him in confidence. If Albus wanted to know, he would have to go and ask Ricky himself.
"He was what?"
"I'm not the right person to tell you. You should ask him that yourself."
"Alright… I'll ask him right now," he said, standing up.
"No! Uhm… I don't want you to leave…" Scorpius said, blushing furiously. He was afraid Damon or Danni would come back now that he was awake. He just felt safer by Albus' side. He also liked being around Albus too much.
Albus only smiled.
"Alright, scoot over."
"What?"
"Scoot over. I'm laying down next to you."
"Y-You really don't have to do that," Scorpius stuttered, but Albus had already climbed into the hospital bed and had pulled Scorpius into his chest.
"Now, sleep. You don't have to be this active, yet," Albus said soothing.
"Al?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you…"
"For what?"
"For not leaving me," Scorpius said, before drifting off to sleep, his head on Albus' chest and Albus stroking his fingers through Scorpius' hair.
-o-O-o-
Albus woke up to an annoying flash of light, and when he opened his eyes, he saw Madam Valderrama holding a camera, taking a picture.
"You two look so cute together!" she shrieked in a very girlish way, answering Albus' silent question.
"Uhm… Miss, I am not gay and I have a girlfriend, you know. Scorp and I are just close friends."
Madam Valderrama just smirked, before walking away, saying: "We'll see about that, Mister Potter."
What the bloody hell was that. Why would she think Scorp and I are dating? We're clearly just friends, right? I mean, we are sharing a bed, but still…
Albus was pulled out of his thoughts by Scorpius stirring next to him.
"What time is it?" he muttered, lazily rubbing his eyes.
"Bloody fuck, it's almost time for dinner!"
Scorpius laughed. "I guess you should go then." He wasn't happy about that, though.
"I can stay if you want. I can get some food later."
"No, you should go. You should go eat with Ricky and Rose. I can enjoy myself here. I mean, I have Madam Valderrama to talk to."
"Yeah, that's something to be glad about," Albus muttered.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Well, I'll be off then. Have fun!"
"You, too!" Scorpius gave a small wave when Albus walked out, heading for the Great Hall.
Scorpius sighed. What now? He felt so… Alone… Without Albus, that is.
"Sweetie, when are you going to tell him?" Madam Valderrama said, coming out of her room.
"What are you talking about?"
"It's so obvious. You're in love with him."
Scorpius' eyes widened. "What? Of course not! Albus is my best friend! I would never-"
"Save me the excuses boy, everyone notices. That's why Miss Levy doesn't like you. She's jealous."
"She hated me before I met Albus."
"Danielle Levy is an extremely unpleasant girl. She's a total bitch, I know that. You shouldn't listen to her."
"Easier said than done."
"Scorpius, I am no psychologist, but I can describe your character like this." She snapped her fingers. "You are insecure. You have social anxiety. Being bullied only makes you that much more insecure. You also suffer from anorexia and you are a bulimic. You also hurt yourself because it is the only way the constant pain is relieved. You also do it because you believe you should punish yourself. Punish yourself because you are still alive. The only reason you have not killed yourself yet, is because you don't have the courage to do it. At least, that's what you think. The real reason you haven't done it, is because it would disappoint Albus. He's the reason you're alive. He's your beacon of light in your life full of darkness. You don't see the beauty in this world anymore. I can't say I disagree with you. The world is pretty bloody fucked up. There are positive things in this world, though. You only got to open your eyes to see this. Fuck Levy. Fuck Paul. You only need to think about yourself. Now, don't become too selfish and self-centered. Just think about yourself for a minute. You are a good person. You are literally an angel fallen from heaven. The fact that other people can't see this is not that bad. The only person who needs to know this, is you. And you just don't see it. Look inside, Scorpius. Just see how beautiful you are."
Scorpius was amazed by how quickly this conversation changed topics, how well the nurse knew him and what kind of language she spoke with. Never had he ever heard the school nurse cuss.
"Dear, I have a gift. I can read people like an open book, even if they hide their true selves from everyone. Like you do. I have only two times seen you act like yourself. In your first year, when you were friends with that girl, Elizabeth, and now, with Albus. Once the bullying started, you hid yourself. Started wearing oversized hoodies to even be able to hide your hands. You were that shy. You didn't want to wear your usual style of clothing anymore. Afraid people would judge you. You shouldn't live in that shyness and fright. You shouldn't live in that self-hatred. Albus has come to me once. He told me everything, while on the verge of crying. He knew about your self-harm. He wasn't disgusted or anything. He was broken. He wanted to help you so badly, he just didn't know how. Then I told him you also were bulimic and he felt even worse. He loves you Scorpius. Maybe as friend, maybe as more, but either way, he loves you. He wants to help. Only you keep shutting him out. You've only been friends for a week, excluding you lying here, but he already cares so much about you. Just let him in. Let him help. Let him help you stop self-harming. Let him help you love yourself again. Let him."
"Does he really feel like that?"
Madam Valderrama nodded. "He does. You can leave tomorrow, so start then. Please."
She then stood. "Now, can you finally admit you love him?"
I nodded, before replying shakily: "I think, I do. I think I've fallen in love with Albus."
She smiled. "I knew it," she said kindly. "You two really look cute together. Now, go to sleep. You must be tired after this conversation."
Scorpius nodded and laid down, covering himself with his blanket, before drifting off to sleep again.
Omg this chapter is soooo long. Normally they're not this long, but I really wanted to have this conversation between these two. I really love Madam Valderrama! She's so caring and wise. Scorpius already sees her as a grandma, I'm sure. She very well could be, she knows him so well. Well, I hoped you also liked the little fluff with Scorpius and Albus in the beginning XD
See you later guys!
Review please! :3
