Chapter 42 So This is How Normal People Live?
Character Fenix
Fenix and Delta were walking down the street by the docks, the residents of the area bustled past them, a few that had gotten to know the group gave their greetings as they past each other.
"You know I look out to that ocean and I can picture that carrier with all of Serra on it floating there," Dom said, "No worries about devastated infrastructure, hostile environments, natural predators, just being at peace."
"Even the Locust would have to disagree with you on that," Throon said, "I'd bet that within a few weeks everyone would be rallying to go retake Serra."
"The bug wrangler's got a point," Cole said as the two high-fived.
"Why do we come down here so much anyway," Baird asked, "I figured we would have all had enough of oceans and boats for a long while."
"It's not about oceans or boats," Fenix said, "Its about the future. I look out to that horizon and I see possibilities, I see chance for failure and success, hate and love, I see freedom out there. A world where our choices matter, where we really make a difference."
"Anya did you write that for him," Sam asked.
"No that is all Marcus," Anya replied.
Throon put a hand on Fenix's shoulder and Fenix returned the gesture. Though he originally didn't trust even hated the Locust commander, Fenix had grown to find that he and Throon were very similar, both leaders, warriors, people. Fenix had decided soon after Throon had saved Anya that he would stop looking at individuals based on a race but simply as people, it had worked out so far.
"Hey Delta," Penny called, "What sort of cake do you think Sun and Blake would like?"
Also staying at the docks got them out of a lot of planning for the wedding.
"How should we know," Baird yelled back, "Try like a yellow and chocolate swirl or something."
"Oh that is brilliant," Penny exclaimed, "Its would share the same colors as Sun and Blake!"
"And that is the third bullet dodged today," Dom said, "Baird you are really good at getting out of work."
"I hang around Grif a lot," Baird replied.
"Hey guys," Arizona said as she and Ruby walked up to Delta, "Please tell us that Penny is already getting a cake."
"She is now," Sam said, "Ruby you got drafted to help with the cake too or are you two just here to make sure Penny doesn't laser something?"
"Three people to get a cake seems a little much," Cole said.
"Indeed and Ruby I think this is the first time I've seen you without at least one of your team around you."
"Yeah," Ruby said, "They were all busy with the wedding and such so I just went out by myself, Arizona apparently followed me though. For someone so large you are very stealthy."
"Its pretty easy when your suit can turn invisible," Arizona said.
"Well I'm glad you followed me," Ruby said.
"What run into trouble," Anya asked.
"No," Ruby replied with a smile that was both extremely sad and peaceful, "We ran into Mom."
Delta exchanged looks before Sam said, "I thought you said your mother was dead."
"Come on Sam how many spirits and beings do we know," Fenix said, "You really think it is that unlikely that her mom could come back?"
"I saw her too," Arizona said, "She even thanked me for being there with Ruby."
"Does Lao know about this," Dom asked, "Or Yang?"
"Not yet," Ruby said, "We ran into Blake in the market and she sent us down here to see if Penny was hunting down that cake."
"And that is more important then letting your family know that your mother talked with you, as a ghost," Dom said.
"I don't think she is a ghost," Arizona said.
"Of course not," Ruby said, "It's part of why I want to tell Dad and Sis in person."
"I believe that Yang is at your club and Lao is with Port hunting down some Grimm so that they don't wander into the wedding field," Throon said, "Well keep an eye on Penny."
"Really," Ruby exclaimed, "Oh thank you come on Arizona lets go!"
"And more running," Arizona remarked, "Catch you all later." As the two ran off Fenix thought that they actually made a fairly good pair, Arizona's size allowed her to keep up with the ridiculously fast Ruby.
"Come on," Fenix said, "If we are going to help out we might as well get on with it."
Over the next several hours he regretted that statement. Penny was an endless barrage of questions like, what size cake should we get, should we get multiple cakes, what type of icing, which store should we get it from, should it have layers, and on and on it went. Worse yet, Anya and Sam had started discussing the topics as Penny brought them up. "I hope that they are not expecting the cake to be picked up this week," Fenix thought as they stood outside the window of yet another bakery.
"Why are all the bakeries near the docks," Cole asked.
"I would assume to get deliveries as fast as possible," Throon said, "I assume that yeasts cultivate fairly quickly and are time sensitive."
"So this is how normal people live," Baird remarked, "Waiting for hours to decide on a cake."
"Okay we've got one," Anya yelled from inside the bakery, "Get in here and help us get it to the field."
The five looked between each other before walking in and seeing Anya wave them to the back where a cake was sitting on a loading dock and waiting for them to put it in the back of a truck.
"That thing is massive," Baird said, "Who is paying for this?"
"Penny is," Sam said, "Apparently the girl is independently wealthy."
"That has got to weigh at least two hundred pounds," Throon estimated.
"When Penny gets back from paying we can get two of us on each side and move it into the truck," Fenix said while thinking to himself, "Yeah this is going to be a fun day."
Character Yang
"Junior," Yang called as she walked into the back room of the bustling club. She was there to pick up food and drink for the wedding and other reasons. "Junior, come on where are you?"
"Back here," Junior said as he ducked out of one of the kitchens, "The food is just finishing up and the drinks are already loaded into the truck. Now we are getting paid for this right?"
"It's a gift to Blake and Sun," Yang exclaimed, "Of course we are not getting paid for it."
"Hahaha I wish you could have seen your face," Junior said.
"Well Mr. Xiong," Yang said very authoritatively as they moved out from the kitchen into Junior's office, "If it is joking that you want... you've picked the right girl."
"I believe I did at that Ms. Long," Junior said, "You still have it?"
"Always," Yang said as she pulled a simple silver ring out of the front pocket of her jacket. Junior had one that was a perfect match to hers on his right ring finger, along with a few other rings.
"Two years Yang," Junior said, "Two years and you haven't told anyone?"
"Not even Ruby," Yang answered, "The stability of the team came first, and you and me being married would definitely have destabilized the team."
They sat in silence for a minute before Junior said, "That is twelve thousand Lien in food and drinks you know."
"We managed to only spend that much," Yang asked. She had really expected the number to be higher.
"Only," Junior stated, "How much were you planing to give away?"
"I had thought it would have been close to twenty thousand," Yang answered, "There are probably going to be at least three hundred people at this wedding."
"Well Penny is using her own funds for the cake," Junior added.
"Oh okay," Yang said, "But I doubt that she will even be able to find an eight thousand dollar cake."
"Yang," Ruby's voice rang through the halls, "Junior? Hello?"
"Ruby over here," Arizona's said as the big Spartan ducked into the room, "Hey guys, sup?"
"Yang there you are," Ruby said as she entered the office. Fortunately it was a big office. "I want to show you and Dad something come on, Dad is fighting Grimm right now, or he and Port are just goofing off in the woods, but either way the woods will be perfect for what I want to show you."
"Can it wait," Yang asked, "We are trying to get the food and drinks ready for the wedding."
"Look I can cover that," Junior said, "This seems important you go on I'll see you at the reception."
Yang nodded wanting right then to lean over the table and kiss Junior, but Ruby and Arizona's presence restrained her. She did realize that she was still holding her wedding ring, worse yet Ruby had noticed it. "Okay, hey and thanks for the ring, I like it," Yang said. Her hope was to salvage the situation.
"Well you're good enough on the drums I figured you need to start getting some rings, all good drummers have rings," Junior said, "First ring I got looks just like that, know why?"
"Not a clue," Yang replied thankful that Junior had played along.
"Cause it was cheap," Junior said with a laugh and a wink as he led them out the back of the club, "I wasn't always wealthy, but we all start somewhere."
"If I didn't know better," Arizona said a little to smoothly, "I would think that you actually like each other."
"Well crap she's figured something out," Yang thought, "That is fine though so long as she doesn't have the full picture."
"Yang you have Bumblebee with you," Ruby asked.
"Yeah just over to the side of the building," Yang said as she put the ring on her finger, "Oh no you're not thinking about using your Semblance all the way..."
"She has been ever since this morning," Arizona said, "I can keep up fairly well."
"You're twenty feet tall too," Yang said, "Besides when Ruby uses her Speed for too long it, Ruby you know how you get."
"Don't worry about it," Ruby said with that sad smile that told Yang she had been to their Mother's grave. Yang noticed that there was a peace that blended with the sorrow this time, like something had changed.
"Okay now I'm very interested in what you want to show us," Yang said, "It has something to do with Mother doesn't it?"
"Your sharper than you let on," Arizona said, "Follow us and find out what though."
Yang ran around to her motorcycle and started her up, "Okay lets go," Yang said as she rode up to Ruby. Then the three headed off to the woods around the field where Professor Port and Father were supposedly hunting grim.
Character Lao Long
He pulled another Beowulf in with Vertigo before Peter cut it in half with the ax/hand cannon that the rather large professor wielded. Peter then spun the weapon around and shot another Beowulf while Lao impaled yet another on the spear-like chain weapons of Vertigo.
"A good day for hunting," Peter exclaimed as the last Beowulf fell to his blade.
"That is has been," Lao agreed, "Not so good for a wedding that is supposed to take place in a few hours though, we've only cleared a third of the area we had hoped to."
"Indeed," Peter commented the rest of what he was going to say got cut off as the distinctive thrum of Yang's motorcycle cut through the relative silence of the woods. Lao also picked out the sound of some very heavy foot falls.
"Company coming," Lao said.
"Hey Dad," Ruby exclaimed as she appeared out of the trees and hugged him, "Hi Professor Port."
"So you come here to help us along," Lao asked as he ruffled Ruby's hair. Yang had pulled up on Bumblebee and the massive Spartan Arizona had pushed her way into the clearing as well. "We appreciate it there is a lot more ground to cover and a lot less time to cover it in."
"Yeah well we most definitely can help with that," Arizona said, "Ruby you want to show them now or wait until we are fighting something?"
"She would want it to happen in a fight," Ruby said, "What do we need to clear?"
"She," Peter mused. Lao just shrugged, Ruby had always had a habit of putting gender persona on things.
"We've got the east side of the field clear for three miles out, now we need the north and west sides, the one facing Beacon is clear already," Lao said, "If you three could slow down enough for two old men to accompany you that is."
"You're not old," Arizona said, "Doug is old."
"Doug is a giant, parasitic life form," Lao replied as they made their way towards the west and looking for Grimm.
"Okay fair point," Arizona admitted, "But you're all immortal so what difference does it make?"
"Quite," Peter said softly, "I think I heard something."
"What was it," Lao asked.
"Rustling," Peter clarified, "Like something sliding across the ground."
"King Taijitu," Yang asked.
"Uh guys," Arizona said, "My motion tracker is picking up a lot of movement and it isn't us."
"Make that more Beowulves," Lao said, "Okay everyone form up. Ruby get on Arizona and use that sniper, Yang burn these guys..."
"Better idea," Ruby said as she drew Crescent Rose and a pure white version of it, "Why don't you let the Rose side of the family handle these?" With that Ruby disappeared in a puff of red and white rose petals. Lao was stunned and he could see Yang was too. Peter seemed confused and Arizona simply spun up the Gatling guns on her arms.
"Did she," Yang muttered as she reached out and picked the rose petals out of the air, "Father look."
Lao took two of the petals as gunfire erupted in the background, one was Ruby's distinctive red but the other was the bright white that only one person he knew left in her wake... Summer Rose, his wife, Yang and Ruby's mother, but she died nine years ago to a pack of Beowulves similar to the one that Ruby had just charged into. Lao was moving in an instant, using Vertigo to grapple his way from tree to tree to catch up to the lightening fast Ruby. When he reached her he just dropped to the ground and stared in disbelief. Standing on a pile of dead Beowulves were Ruby and Summer Rose. Ruby had both Crescent Rose and the white scythe while Summer had her pistol axes. The wind blew through the trees causing the two's capes to swirl in the wind as Yang skidded to a stop next to him. Arizona and Peter followed, keeping an eye out for more Grimm.
"Well hello there you two," Summer said as she and Ruby descended the stack of Beowulf corpses as it started to disintegrate. "Come here." Summer wrapped them all up in a fierce hug that Lao returned without hesitation. They were all crushed by Yang who was silently crying as she crushed them in her arms.
"I missed you too," Summer said as she managed to reach a hand out to wipe the tears off of Yang's face.
"How is this possible," Peter asked, "Summer we all thought you were dead."
"I was," Summer replied, "But the one who killed me also completed my goal for me, unite Vale. Beacon, Vale PD, the underground, for it to all work as one was my hope and that has been achieved. When the Magog died it left just enough of a rift in the universe for me to go through before the energy levels stabilized again. So here I am."
"This is incredible," Peter remarked, "I am... I don't know what to say."
"Wait a minute," Lao said feeling a hard cold settle in his gut, "You said the one who killed you. One? You were found in the middle of a pile of Beowulves, if they didn't kill you then who did?"
"Isn't it obvious," Ruby said. Then when no one replied, "It was K. The Grimm are a direct product of sin and K came up with the concept of sin. Mom died because of K."
"And it was K who united Vale," Arizona commented, "You think he knew?"
"I think you would be a fool to think I didn't" K said as he walked up to them. Summer backed out of the hug and went to stare down at K. K was in his human form and Summer was rather tall. Her curving face and piercing silver eyes made it even easier for her to look down on just about anyone. "Also I may have been more directly involved in Summer's death than Ruby makes it sound," K said. "I sent Void and Despair here to form Adam. Their arrival however would have also spawned a number of Grimm, the Grimm that killed Summer."
"K I want you to look very closely at those three people there," Summer said as she pointed to Ruby, Yang and Lao. "They've been through Hell because of you, two of them literally. All I want to know is if you feel their sorrow and pain."
"What do you think drew me to this meeting in the first place," K said, "I figured it would have had to of been an enormous event for Yang to cry."
"You can feel our emotions," Yang asked.
"Some of them some of the time," K said, "For anyone who's life I've directly affected I can feel their sorrow and pain."
"Can you feel our joy as well," Ruby asked.
Lao had to admit he was not thinking about K feeling any joy right now, but that was Ruby's nature to help people, anyone, no matter what they had done. She was the best of both him and Summer.
K's eyes went to the ground as he replied, "No, the sorrow and pain is all I can feel."
"Well how about now," Ruby said as she went over and hugged him. Lao saw her Aura flash before she backed up to stand beside Summer. K looked up at her his shock plainly displayed on his face as a tear rolled down his nose.
"What did you do," Lao asked as he and Yang moved up beside Summer and Ruby.
"I let him feel how happy I am right now," Ruby replied, "Sure K may have caused the Grimm to spawn but he couldn't have known that they would do that or kill Mom. What matters is now she is back and we have a chance to be a family again."
Lao felt ashamed that he had even thought about firing one or both of Vertigo's spikes into K when he saw him. Ruby was right forgiveness was the better path.
"For the record I knew about her as soon as Ruby did her speed run thing and discovered she was leaving white roses behind as well as the red," Arizona said.
"Summer," Peter said, "Its good to have you back."
"Indeed," Lao said as he imitated his friend's usage of the word, "Its is good to have you home."
"I'm sure it is," Summer replied, "but if Ruby has been informing me correctly we have Grimm to clear and a wedding to put on, so this is going to be a busy homecoming. Yang, nice ring, so who is the husband?"
Lao smirked at that statement as Yang's face went from joy to shock, Ruby was just as surprised and even K seemed unaware of Yang's marriage. Lao had his suspicions for a while, Yang was his daughter after all, or the one most like him.
"Its Junior isn't it," Lao said.
"Who, Junior Xiong," Peter asked, "Didn't she blow up his club on several occasions?"
"The club that is now named after our team," Ruby stated.
"Exactly when were you planning on telling us," Lao asked as Peter and Arizona signaled that they would go with K to finish clearing the woods.
"I was going to tell you as soon as we had finished Beacon, but then this whole thing with Cinder started and I didn't want to cause any more tension by letting anyone know the renowned team RWBY was associated with Junior and his hired muscle," Yang said rather quickly.
"So you've been married for what six, eight months then," Ruby asked.
"Closer to two years," Yang said, confirming Lao's suspicions and causing Summer and Ruby's eyes to widen considerably.
"That explains why I would see you out at night a lot then," Lao said, "oh don't give her those looks I was nineteen when I married you and we tried to keep it a secret."
"Fair enough but that was just to see how long Qrow would take to figure it out," Summer replied, "It took him all of what five minutes?"
"Well he is quite perceptive," Ruby said.
"True but you and Yang are sisters," Summer replied, "Then again Qrow is insanely intelligent, where is he I figured he would be here somewhere."
"He is doing some work over seas for Signal," Lao said as he handed Summer his scroll, "taking some of the students out across the continents to give them a feel for the world. He should be back in a few weeks." Summer took the scroll and quickly typed a message to Qrow as they exited the woods near the back of the reception field. Lao had to nod in approval as the once empty, grassy field was now surrounded with white fence that was covered in green and yellow vines, Junior was directing Delta as they and Penny were moving a massive cake onto a pair of tables. There was a massive buffet which had a vast assortment of food and drinks on it. Ozpin and Weiss were atop the platform discussing something that Lao was sure would be vital to the upcoming ceremony.
"Ozpin," Summer yelled across the field drawing everyone's attention to her. Ozpin froze when he saw her. Weiss quirked an eyebrow at the reaction and looked between him and Summer for a bit before she realized who was rocking the white cape. Junior had stopped bothering to direct Delta, leaving them to get the cake onto the table themselves as he headed over to the four of them. Delta and Penny just continued to wrangle the cake. Miltia and Melanie stuck their heads out of the truck that they were directing some of their employees to and from with crates of food. Scooter and Brick looked over from behind a lattice that they were putting up behind the platform.
"Is... are... you're...," Junior stuttered as he tried to phrase his question finally simply asking, "Yang?"
Yang and Summer shared a look that Lao remembered well. He and Ruby backed up a step as Yang and Summer both lit up with flames. "That's right baby," Yang said, "Meet Summer, my mother."
Junior put a hand over his mouth and ran it down his chin as he tugged on his beard as he said "Great now I have two ladies who are capable of beating me up and burning down my club."
"I doubt you have to worry about that," Lao said as he put an arm around Junior's shoulders and led him back to the cake which was now on the tables and surrounded by a huffing Delta and the overly cheerful Penny, "Besides you're family now right?"
"Oh so you did catch on to that then," Junior said.
"Actually I had suspicions for a while now but it was Summer who straight up called Yang out on it," Lao replied, "The ring was apparently a dead giveaway. Two years though and you weren't man enough to tell me?"
"Yang said not to I wouldn't dare oppose her," Junior said, "would you?"
"Well only cause I am her father," Lao replied, "but yeah no. Man is that sad or what?"
"Is it sad that we have enough sense not to mess with the fire queen," Junior said, "or both of them?"
"Bow-chicka-bow-wow," Tucker said as he and Jr. walked into the field.
"Yeah heard you got a couple of hot chicks that's cool," Jr. added.
Junior and Lao looked between Tucker and Jr. before they slugged the two.
"Who are these uh guys," Junior asked.
"Oh that is just Tucker and his kid Jr.," Lao said as he rubbed the teal, aqua, whatever color green Tucker's armor was, paint off of the side of Vertigo's spike.
"The alien's name is the same as mine," Junior asked. Lao was going to respond but Summer's laugh cut him off. Looking back he saw that Ozpin, Weiss, Scooter and Brick had gathered around his three girls and Summer was entertaining them with stories of Yang and Ruby when they were little, much to his daughters' chagrin.
"Ow man come on can't you take a joke," Jr. said as he and Tucker got up.
"Sure so long as it isn't about my wife or my daughters," Lao said, "Jr. this is Junior, he might have a bone or two to pick with you as well."
"Wait really? You go by Junior too," Jr. asked, "Blarg yeah, now I'm not the only one!"
"Or you two could hit it off," Lao remarked as Junior smirked at Jr's comment.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing," Tucker asked.
"Depends," Lao replied, "You two comfortable with fire escapes?"
"Fire escapes," Tucker asked confused, "I don't... Oh right Yang does the fire thing. Yeah we're good in a fire."
"Hey look the man of the hour," Junior said as Sun walked onto the field. He was in a full suit and looking very uncomfortable in it.
"I think that is the first time I've seen him with a shirt buttoned up," Ruby remarked as she and Scooter walked over to the four.
"Well to be fair you've never seen me with a shirt at all," Jr. said.
"Oh Bow-chicka, uh um never mind," Tucker said as Lao and Scooter glared at him.
"So who and what do we have here," Summer asked as she, Yang, Weiss and Ozpin joined them.
"And thus begin the introductions," Yang remarked.
"Again," Lao said, "That will be good for me too though I still don't remember half of DC's names."
Character Paul Jackson
"Hey I don't know what to expect either," Paul said as he and CRDL walked through the streets of the residential district, "Only wedding I've ever been to was a dragon wedding, Geyser and Krista's and they turned into Leviathans and had a kid who then became a skeleton. So no I doubt Sun and Blake's will end up anything like that."
"Okay yeah, probably not going to turn out like that," Russel said, "but Sun and Blake are not exactly the most... um Cardin how should I put it?"
"Legal," Cardin said, "Sun is a masterful thief, he once stole my sandwich right off my plate without me even noticing, and Blake is probably the best infiltrator we have on any of the hunting teams with Weiss and Russel here a close second."
"That is a 'glowing' review," Paul commented.
"So why did we get picked to go to Lao's house and get these presents," Sky asked, "We aren't really the best team for this sort of task."
"For getting presents," Cardin said, "No we aren't. For taking care of any intruders that may still be monitoring the house, well I'll let you get creative."
Paul drew his katana with a shhhink, "I don't get creative, swish, swish, stab. It's a sword not a fighter jet."
"You should really consider adapting that," Dove said, "Cardin's mace has a laser my crossbow has blades on the arms, you should add a ranged weapon to that sword.
Paul drew his pistol and looked at Dove before saying, "Really?"
"Check it out," Sky said as he pointed towards the housing complex that Lao lived in, "What is going on there?" Out front of the complex was and elderly lady, Burnie and Joel and two others one a man and the other a woman. The man was probably in his mid forties with brown hair that was just starting to gray and a well formed mustache on his slightly oval face that housed his hard, blue eyes. He wore bluejeans, black boots and a cameo top. He also carried two machine guns, an ax, a very sturdy knife, a silenced pistol, a bolt action carbine, and a twelve gauge. The woman had long brown hair and blue eyes on her rounded face. She wore jeans and a white shirt, was about a foot shorter than the man and carried no visible weapons.
"Look we are just trying to find our friend," the woman said to Joel.
"I'm sure you are mama," Joel replied, "But G and N are not names that we recognize."
"No," the man said, "Those are our names, we are looking for either Lao, or Ruby, Yang anyone who has a connection with K!"
"I know K," Paul said as he and CRDL walked up, "What are you looking for him for?"
"Look its complicated," the woman, N apparently, said. "A future K told us to find him and Dragon Company when we got here, we didn't believe him at the time but now it seems more important."
"Heh I know the feeling," Paul said, "Burnie, Joel what are you two doing back here any more trouble?"
"Don't know yet," Burnie said, "Julie here called us out, said she heard some noise coming from Lao's apartment and thought we should check it out."
"Lao had some presents for the wedding up there," Cardin said, "That is why we are here to get them and to check on the place, shall we go see what is making this noise?" Burnie and Joel drew their pistols in approval.
"Hey you two want to get in with K," Paul remarked, "Help us out and he will look favorably on you."
"Nothing is ever easy is it," G, the man, said as he checked his shotgun and headed into the building behind the police chief and his deputy. Jackson and CRDL followed them in. They got to the room and Julie let them in with her spare key to Lao's place before she headed into her own apartment.
Inside the place was wrecked, the furniture was rifled through papers lay scattered everywhere the cabinets and draws were opened and all the doors were open. Well all except one door, the door to the armory.
"If someone is still here they will be in there," Joel said. Without another word Jackson moved up to the door, G moved in behind him with military precision and Cardin slid up to the other side of the door with Burnie. The others had spread out in the room to provide covering fire if they needed to.
"Listen you," G yelled, "We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way!" He punctuated that last line with the distinctive sound of a twelve gauge pumping. They were answered with a feral, robotic, growling before the door burst open to reveal a wolf like Fauns with extensive cybernetic enhancements.
"You will not stop the White Fang," he snarled before jumping out a window and down to the ground.
"Wha-what was that," N asked.
"That was Gerald," Burnie exclaimed, "That was the leader of the White Fang himself."
"For him to have come here must mean that Lao had his hands on some very important information," Dove said.
"Then we should see if we can find it," Paul said as he looked over the smashed up gifts. One was a TV the other was a very high end camera, both were broken now.
"Shame about the presents," Sky remarked, "That camera was a Kraola 7500 capable of capturing footage at forty-five-thousand frames a second. The TV is Kraola as well, shame."
"Why would Lao give Sun and Blake a camera and a TV," Cardin mused, "I don't think either of them even watch TV, much less film anything."
"Maybe you could fix the TV," N suggested.
"Fix it? The screen is busted," G replied, "Nope that thing is trash now."
"Well we will let you all figure that out," Burnie said, "Paul, it is Paul right? Make sure these two get to K, they have been pestering the department all day."
"Sure thing," Paul replied.
"Now we have to get back," Joel said, "Gerald showing up means we get lots of paper work to fill out, descriptions to up date... humf, lots of work." The badges left the room to return to their HQ.
"So that guy really was the leader of that Fauns terrorist group," Paul asked.
"Is," Russel corrected, "Cinder is out of the picture and the Magog but even despite that there are plenty of Fanus with reason enough to hate humans."
"What is a Fanus," G asked.
"Not from Remnant I take it," Paul said, "I had that question when I first met Blake and Sun, Fanus were humans but have used magic over the years to permanently give them aspects of animals, like horns, or fangs, tails, etc."
"Well that is the simplified version of it anyways," Cardin said, "Ask Dr. Oobleck if you want a nice long speech on the subject. Seriously though a TV and a camera?"
"Those are great gifts," N said.
"Always the salvager," G sighed.
"Wait a second," Paul said, "Why would Lao give them a TV and a camera?"
"To watch TV with," Sky said. Paul walked past him to kneel down in front of the TV. The flat screen was spider webbed, rendering the TV useless but also allowing him to see through the screen in spots.
"Cardin help me shake this thing," Paul said as he picked up one side of the TV.
"What for," Cardin asked as he got on the opposite side.
"I'm betting that the gift is not the TV," Paul said.
Cardin shrugged as he and Paul proceeded to shake the TV. Sure enough Paul heard something sliding around inside. He signaled for Cardin to put his end down and the two lowered the TV.
"Great now we really know it is broken," Dove said sarcastically. Paul continued to ignore the banter between the team and used his katana to cut the side off the TV. Out from it fell two envelops one had Blake's name on it the other had Sun's.
"Success," Paul said as he held up the letters, "Come on lets go get these to Lao and then I will take you two to K, or C or Doug any of the three would do I assume."
"They are the three in charge," G asked.
"No that is K," Paul replied, "But C is his wife and Doug his best friend."
"Then no, only K will do," G said forcefully.
"Very well," Paul said, "He just might be harder to line up a conversation with."
"What about the Doctor, is he available," N asked.
"You know him too," Paul said, "How did you two meet them?"
"We really shouldn't say, time distortions and all," N replied.
"Well the Doctor is usually free," Paul said, "Cardin you make sure these letters get to Lao, eh?"
"They will get to him," Cardin said as he took the letters, "CRDL lets go." CRDL walked out of the room.
Paul activated his radio, "Hey Price you know where the Doctor and River are?"
"Uh let me check on that for you," Price said then after a moment, "Looks like the Doctor and River are at Beacon with Glynda."
"Great I'm at Lao's apartment got any transport for me and two others, they are friends of K and the Doctor," Paul said.
"One transport for three coming up courtesy of one Wolfgang," Price replied, "Have fun with that."
"Will do," Paul replied as he cut off the radio, "Okay lets get outside we wouldn't want Wolf to land on the building, he might crush it."
"Your Paul Jackson aren't you," G stated as they left the building.
"Sure am," Paul replied, "Future K talks about us a lot I take it."
"He tells entire stories of DC," N said.
Outside Wolf was waiting for them, both of him. "Get on," Wolf said through his Arch form. "Yeah I'm interested to meet these new people," His human self added.
"Wolfgang, part Arch Demon part human," N remarked, "K tells stories about you too."
"So they do know K," Wolf said as the three climbed up.
"Future K," Paul corrected.
"But if K is right then the Doctor should already know us," G said.
"Well lets find out then," Wolf's Arch from said as they took off.
Character The Doctor
"These scrolls are simply amazing," the Doctor exclaimed as Glynda continued to show him and River the various functions that the devices could run.
"Apart from detecting Aura, gathering information and communicating to other scrolls," Glynda said, "The scrolls can be used to create information of various kinds as well, text, video, picture, the scroll supports it all."
"Do they unlock doors," River commented.
"Most doors yes," Glynda replied, "So long as the scroll has the correct key for the lock or a very good hacking program."
"So traditional locks are still better than tech," the Doctor said amused.
"Sometimes yes," Glynda said as she placed the scroll on her desk. They were in Glynda's office, a pentagonal room with dark, stained, wood walls and floor, a glass ceiling with a view of the crystals at the top of Beacon and several windows that looked outward on the three outside walls. Glynda sat down in her chair, a high backed, black leather, recliner that sat behind her marble desk. "But then again we have several in the Hunter ranks that can pick those open faster than the scroll can open the keyed doors."
"I find a good laser blast opens a door too," River commented, "Or a letter written in a dead language on a cliff face."
"That only worked that one time," the Doctor said, "And it was very rash of you!"
"There is a story there I can tell," Glynda said, "No don't tell me I'm pretty sure I don't want to know." The scroll on her desk beeped with an incoming call. Glynda picked up the scroll and opened the channel.
"Glynda good of you to answer," Doug said, "Just wanted to let you know, Wolfgang and Paul are headed your way with two friends of the Doctor's they also know K but a future version of him."
"Why is it everyone knows either you or K," Glynda remarked to the Doctor as she closed the message.
"We get around a lot," the Doctor said, "I wonder who it is?"
"Think it is Jack," River asked.
"Unlikely," the Doctor answered, "He normally travels alone now."
"Well we could sit in here and ponder the nature of these two or go meet them out front," Glynda said as she got up again and pocketed the scroll. The three of them headed out of the office and towards the main entrance to the academy. If Paul was going to be arriving on Wolfgang then they would be at the airfield. The Doctor, River and Glynda arrived just in time to see Wolf come in for a landing. Out of all the people the Doctor had thought it could have been he had to admit he was not expecting to see the two that jumped off of Wolf with Paul.
"Doctor," N said, "It has been a long time."
"Haha I can't believe that you two found us," the Doctor said as he greeted G and N with a hug, "Wait let me guess future K sent you."
"No we chose to find you all," G replied, "K just told us about DC, God helped us get here."
"Well he would have had to," River said, "Didn't you two die about fifty years ago?"
"Yeah a hundred and three," G said, "Never thought I would live that long."
"Side effect from being around K I'm sure," the Doctor said, "Glynda meet G and N, two of my most favorite people in the universe. G, N this is..."
"Glynda Goodwitch," N said, "You look just like I imagined you would."
"It seems they already know us," Glynda said, "mind if we learn a little more about you?"
"Well I am ex military turned engineer then adventurer," G said.
"And I'm just the wife who gets dragged along," N said as she whipped out a baton which was electrically charged. "I also get him out of situations which his stubbornness gets him into."
"So what have you been doing for the last few years," the Doctor asked as they all headed back towards Beacon. Wolf headed off towards Club RWBY mentioning that Marion and Anders were going to meet him there and that if Doctor and party wanted to drop by later he'd be there until the wedding started.
"Oh not much," G said, "stocking up on supplies, keeping up with my skills, teaching her some."
"I'd be happy to show you how to use a laser pistol," River said.
"No thanks the baton is fine with me," N replied.
"So you two found a way here just to chat with old friends," Paul asked.
"Partly," G said, "Part of it was to join DC. It gets boring just sitting around all day with nothing to do but target practice and clean guns."
"Or cook, clean up after him, complain about things in general," N added.
"Well it sounds like your activities won't vary much then," Glynda said, "From what I've seen of DC shooting, cleaning, and complaining are three things they do a lot of."
"That is us," the Doctor said, "Though I am still unconvinced of the necessity of the shooting bit."
"Yeah well I am," Paul and G said.
"I figured they would get along," River said.
"Why don't we see who else they will get along with," the Doctor said, "Come on let us give you the introductions to the crew."
"We probably know them," N said.
"Sure K will have told you about them but now you get to actually meet them," River said, "Follow us." The six headed into Beacon to start the introductions with any of the crew that were there before they would head out to find the others. Several hours later they had made their way to the field where the wedding was being set up. K was there with C, and most of the DC Remnant members.
"Oh this is pretty," N said, "It seems so normal, except the dragons flying about. To think that they are..."
"Doctor, River, Paul, Glynda," K greeted as he walked over to them, "Who are these two?"
"Your future," the Doctor replied, "K meet G and N."
"He still likes his green and black I see," N said as the three introduced themselves.
"So you know me in the future," K said, "I wonder what I will be like in a few thousand years."
"Well if this wedding set up is anything to go by," G said, "Pretty much the same just with less dragons around for the part we were with you."
"Oh they were there you just couldn't see them," the Doctor said, "Dimensional shift."
"Now that sounds much more like a DC thing," K remarked, "But if it is my future we should probably not talk about it hmm... In any case welcome to DC. You've caught us at a moment of normalcy, well normal for us." K corrected himself as Caboose ran by while on fire with Junior and Church chasing him trying to put him out. "Yup normal for us."
"Seems normal enough apart from the advanced tech and mythical creatures," N said.
"Really," Paul asked, "This is how normal people live?"
"Not quite," G said, "We usually have more arguments then we have had today."
"You're right," N said, "It's been a good day."
"Well it is about to get better," K said, "Unless you don't like weddings, then it is about to get worse. Or if you don't like large crowds.
"I dislike both," G said.
"Ah it a wedding," N scolded, "Be nicer about it." The Doctor just smiled as he led them over to a row of chairs in the back of the field. Over the next half hour most all of DC had gathered in or above the field along with many friends of both Sun and Blake. Roland, Lilith, Doug, South and Sword slipped in just before the wedding started and took their seats next to the Doctor.
"Whoo just did make it," Roland remarked, "Who are the two new people?" River leaned over and whispered something onto his ear. Judging from how his eyes got larger before becoming contemplative meant that she had told him exactly who G and N were. Throughout the whole rest of the day the Doctor had a big goofy grin on his face. Why? Because G was right today they were getting to be as normal as the DC team could get, today was a wedding, and today his parents joined DC. The fact that he couldn't tell anyone yet was also amusing to him. Considering what he knew of the future for K, to see this moment where K, G and N all meet for the first time was peaceful. The Doctor knew, finally, that his work with K was not in vain, that DC did remain united even after the Dimensional rift shifted them apart, that they do regroup in the future because only then would G and N have been told about DC and enticed to join up.
"You seem far too happy for just a wedding," River said knowingly.
"You know what G and N showing up here means," the Doctor replied, "Tell me that doesn't make you smile." He looked over to where Roland and Lilith were talking with G and N, yes those four would really like each other. He then headed off to congratulate the newly weds with a smiling River by his side.
Character Sun Wukong
"Yes!," Sun thought as he and Blake broke their kiss to the cheers of their friends, both old and new. Ever since he had seen Blake on the docks those four years ago he had known she was the one. He could tell from her smile now that she was just as delighted as he was that they were married, also the rings looked sweet. Pure gold bands with dust laced in them that would glow when the two were close together. In fact the rings were glowing now as Blake raised Sun's hand to her bow and had him take it off revealing the cat ears that he so loved.
"No sense to hid anything now," Blake said as the ribbon floated to the ground where Weiss picked it up.
"Four years we've waited for today," Sun said, "And what a crazy four years it has been."
"I believe it is about to get crazier," Ozpin said, "but for today at least I think you two can forget about worries and enjoy this moment."
"Thanks Teach," Sun said, "Never really thought about you being qualified for marriages but I guess being head of Beacon gives you several boons."
"Several," Ozpin said, "One of which, as I keep trying to tell you, is not being called Teach."
"Sorry it was the first impression I got when Blake introduced me to you," Sun said, "What can I say it stuck."
"Go on you two there is a host of your friends waiting to congratulate..." Ozpin was interrupted as the Serenity flew over head and let off fireworks courtesy of Wash and Zoe. Blake activated her omni-tool.
"Hey Wash you want to drop a cable down to us, give us a rout out that doesn't involve walking through a zillion questions and conversations," Blake said with a sly smile.
"Oh I love it when you do that," Sun remarked.
"On our way," Wash said as the Serenity made another pass with fireworks. Then it came to a stop directly above them and Jayne threw down a cable. Sun and Blake grabbed on and were hauled up.
"Thanks for coming everyone," Sun yelled as they dangled under the ship, "But this exit is so much cooler than walking, we'll catch up at Juniors'." He saluted the group which brought a round of even louder cheers and several laughs, Ruby's was easy to pick out with her snorting laugh-giggle. Then they were in the hold and the doors under them closed up. Sun back flipped off the cable to land next to Kaylee, Blake used her shadow clone ability to kick off the air and land next to him.
"That was gorrham impressive," Jayne said.
"I still want to know how you do that shadow thing," Kaylee said, "It just so cool."
"Mal you'd better get up here," Wash said through the comms, "We've got an incoming LR hail, your not going to believe who from."
"Now that sounds interesting," Sun said as he pulled off his suit and tossed it on top of some cargo. Under the suit he had been wearing his regular outfit, jeans, collard, white shirt, sneakers and his Gunchaku.
"So that is why you looked so uncomfortable," Blake said, "Kaylee did you all get that chest?"
"Yup," Kaylee said, "Its in my room."
"Wait you had prearranged to..." Sun said, "Love it!"
"I'll help you change," Kaylee said as she and Blake headed to the crew quarters.
"I'll meet you on the bridge," Blake said. She gave him a smile before twitching her ears and following Kaylee.
"You've got a saucy one there," Jayne remarked.
"You've no idea," Sun said, "Well lets go see what that hail is about."
The two headed up to the bridge picking up Simon and River on the way. River was in a much more normal mood today it seemed, though brilliant and very dangerous River was also very vulnerable to nightmares and visions. They got to the bridge where Mal, Zoe and Wash were already replaying the hail.
"Reavers have mounted a full scale invasion, Mayday, Mayday, I repeat the Alliance is crumbling the Reavers are attacking in force. This is Commander Harken I repeat any ships capable of assisting us please aid us."
"Reavers," Jayne said, "Did he say Reavers?"
"What are Reavers," Blake asked as she Kaylee and Inara poked their heads in from the hall outside.
"You know the Reapers right," Mal said.
"Like Harbinger," Sun said.
"Yeah like him," Mal said, "Only imagine if it wasn't machines that wanted to turn you into them, but people who are just shells, flesh eaters. If they don't turn you into them they rape you to death, use your skin for cloths and eat you. Now it seems that there is enough of them that they are attacking whole planets."
"Then it is a good thing we are very far from the Alliance," Jayne said.
"But what about those people," Derrial said, "We have at our fingertips the ability to beat back these Reavers, to save trillions of lives."
"I know," Mal said, "Blake that fancy light thing still working?"
"Got it," Blake said as the omni-tool lit up around her hand.
"Sun you've talked with Harbinger before," Mal asked.
"Yeah why," Sun replied.
"I want him, Torgue's ship and the Hunter to come with us," Mal said, "we are going to kill some Reavers."
"I can also get our teams here," Blake said as she sent out messages to the various parties, "and don't think about counting us out we heard that signal too we're not going to just ignore it."
"K will want to know where we are going," Sun said.
"Yeah well K already knows," the new guy, G Sun recalled from their brief meeting earlier before the wedding, said as he, N, the Doctor and River walked in, "Lets get your teams and lets go, while I've got no use for the Alliance, Book is right we can't just sit by while the Reavers massacre whole worlds."
"Harbinger will meet us above Club RWBY, Ruby says that they are on the roof of the club and the Hunter and Torgue HQ are both coming in behind us," Blake said, "How are we going to get to this Harken?"
"The Invention's hyper drive is powerful enough to get there in a few minutes," Kaylee said, "It has more power than the rest of the ships here combined."
"We could tag along beside it in its slip-space wake," the Doctor said.
"Well so much for the uneventful afternoon after the wedding," Sun remarked, "Oh but I bet this will be much more fun."
"Oh I don't know about that," Blake whispered to him as all but Wash started heading back to the hold. Sun reached an arm around her shoulders at that as they sauntered into the hold. The rear bay doors opened up to let teams RWBY, JNPR, RAIM, Scooter, Brick, Lao, Summer, Junior, Melanie, and Miltia on board.
"So what is the emergency," Ruby asked, having to almost yell over the sound of the doors closing up and the other ships' engines powering up.
"Reavers," Mal replied, "People who have become... something else, they are apparently slaughtering their way across worlds, across my sky, so we are going to stop them."
"Invention to Serenity," Church said on the open comms, "We hear you need our engines."
"That we do," Sun commented, "Unless we all want to be a few hundred years older before we get to this Harken."
"Serenity to Invention," Wash replied across the same channel, "I'm sending you the coordinates now."
"Hey wait a minute," Jayne said, "If Harken is sending out a hail then we must be back in our correct time right?"
"Yeah," Zoe replied, "Then why was the Invention able to jump to Earth?"
"Now that is an easy one," Adam said, "the distortions in time caused by Magog-Cinder pulling the demons from Star's universe made the time line so weak that the Invention's drive made a hole right through to Earth. Now that the Magog is gone and the demons returned to their place the time line is ridged once again. Even if the Invention tried to warp to Earth right now it couldn't without the help of the Tardis or Ignitus or even Storm."
"That was the easy explanation," Sun asked, "Actually never mind, is everyone ready to travel?"
"I hope so," Moroni said as they pulled up beside Torgue's ship and the Invention. "Here we go."
Sun grabbed hold of the doorway as the Serenity was yanked through space by the Invention. Blake was holding onto him and the rest were either sliding across the floor, floating in the air or holding onto a railing or rope or whatever. Lao locked himself down with one of Vertigo's spear points before sending the other one to lock into the far wall creating a room length chain that the crew could hold onto.
"Whoo," Sun exclaimed as the ship came to a stop a few minutes later, "Nice work with the spear-chain."
"Yeah just next time don't put holes in my ship," Mal said.
"Okay I'll just use the same ones," Lao replied.
"Now that would be impressive," Sun remarked.
"Hardly," Blake said as she pointed at the holes, "He set a tracker into that one so he could almost fire towards the opposite wall and the spear point would navigate to it."
"How do you notice these things," Sun asked.
"How do you know what items in here would be worth the most without ever actually having seen the prices for them," Blake replied. Sun just nodded his understanding, practice had given him a very good eye on what to swipe, if given the chance, for just about any item. Likewise Blake's experience with infiltration had given her very sharp eyes and instincts.
"Okay Harken's cruiser is within range of a visual call," Church said over the radio, "You want to call him or you want me to?"
"I'll call him," Mal said, "He knows me and, though we didn't part on the best of terms, would probably be more open to picking up a call from me than you. Blake, Sun with me I'd also like to introduce Harken to some of the varieties of my new friends."
"I'm a 'variety'," Adam said, "Why not pick me?"
"Cause you are gorrham scary," Jayne said, "Same reason he doesn't have me on the calls." They trekked back to the bridge where Wash had already set up the call.
"Ready," Mal asked.
"Sending request for a vid call now," Wash replied, "And we're on."
"Sergeant Reynolds," Harken, a square jawed man with spiky, blond hair and dressed in a gray uniform said. "I can honestly say I didn't expect to be hearing from you."
"Well I didn't expect to be in a position to stop a Reaver invasion," Mal replied, "But as it is I happen to have several of the most powerful ships in the Verse with me and a load of real tough fighters to boot." He waved Sun and Blake over, "Say hello to some of those who are going to help us save planets."
Harken's expression was both of confusion and shock, "What are those?"
"We are people," Blake said as her eyes narrowed, "I'm Blake this is Sun, now you'd better start giving us details about this invasion since we've just left a bunch of our friends to help out with these Reavers."
"Feisty isn't she," Harken said.
"It's her and Sun's wedding day," Mal commented causing Harken to do a double take.
"So that is why you wanted us here," Sun thought, "To throw him off his game."
"Right then," Harken said, "The Reavers came in hard about a month back, hit Londinium then started to take out the surrounding Alliance holdings. The Alliance is being destroyed from the inside out and with our seat of operations destroyed we've been crumbling. As much as I hate to say it out of the people I thought about when I got the news you, Malcolm, were on the list."
"Reavers don't usually work together," Mal said, "Something is driving them, controlling them."
"These Reavers," Sun said, "What exactly are they, Mal seems convinced they are not men any more. What do you think they are?"
"I can honestly say I've only seen one," Harken replied, "And Malcolm there was the man who saved me from it. I have to agree there is something to the Reavers and it is not of man."
"Demons then," Sun said, "We just finished dealing with a similar situation on our world."
"You think a Magog could be controlling the Reavers," Wash asked.
"Okay a what," Harken asked.
"A Magog is a demon created from the incarnation of sin, evil given consciousness, will and form," Blake said.
"That is ridiculous," Harken scoffed.
"So is a half broken army of Reaver ships being able to take over the best defended planet in the Alliance and then beat down any attempts to retake it," Mal replied.
"If it is a demon," Harken said, "What do you have that could beat it that we don't?"
"Add them to call Wash," Mal said. On the screen beside Harken's feed pulled up Harbinger, Church and Tex on the Invention with Cinder, Cleo and Marcus, Mr. Torgue who was doing pull ups, Maya and Krieg on the Hunter and the Doctor and River in his Tardis.
"How about us," Harbinger said, "Are we enough to impress you?"
Sun had to smile at how clever Mal was in the execution of the call, introducing uncertainty into Harken's understanding of the world then providing the explanation to his questions would bring the Commander over to their side, eventually.
"Well we had half a day where we got to live like normal people," Sun said, "not bad considering our track record."
"What is your guys track record," Wash asked.
"No 'normal' days," Sun said, "We'll leave you all to sort out what we will be killing, mean while we will be with the rest back in the cargo bay chilling."
"Did I hear someone say killing," Torgue yelled as Sun and Blake walked out.
"Nice rhyme," Blake said.
"Yeah figured I'd be throwing in a little of the Sun musical talent," Sun said.
"Well it caught Torgue's attention," Blake remarked as they over heard an 'EXPLOSIONS!'
"Don't most women want a honey moon or something after a wedding," Sun asked.
"We could do that or we could save people's lives," Blake replied.
"Sure human lives," Sun said, "The only humans who care about us are either on this ship or back home. These Reavers aren't Grimm, they were human once, so why not let them fight each other?"
"Impulsive as always," Blake sighed. "Sun, it's not about who does the killing, its about keeping their victims alive. These Reavers sound a lot like the Grimm to me anyways."
"Okay fair enough," Sun acknowledged, "After this though we get time to ourselves, right?" Blake just gave him a kiss and a smirk in response as they hopped down to land next to Weiss.
"Well that is one way down," Book said.
"Trust me they do this sort of thing all the time," Weiss said as she looked between Derrial and Sun and Blake.
"Weiss is that my bow," Blake asked as she pointed to the black ribbon that dangled from Myrtenaster's cross-guard.
"Picked it up for you," Weiss said, "I can't imagine you'd ditch your bow for him."
"Hey," Sun said with feigned hurt in his voice, "Besides you and me would never have worked out."
"Well it looks like you've got a pretty tight knot on there," Blake said as she looked over Weiss' weapon, "Why don't you just keep holding onto it for me, besides it looks good on Myrtenaster."
"Really," Weiss asked, "I... I didn't,... thanks."
"What's the matter," Sun asked. It was evident to him that Weiss was disquieted.
"What do you think," Weiss replied. Sun looked to Blake for help.
"I think I know," Derrial said, "If you don't mind me saying so."
"No please enlighten them," Weiss said, "At least that would be interesting."
"Okay then," Book said, "Lets see, Sun and Blake, Jaune and Pyrrha, Ren and Nora, Ruby and Scooter, and rumor from Summer is its Junior and Yang. That leaves Weiss and who?"
"Oh," Sun stated, "Hmm, that is strange."
"No it isn't," Blake said as she put an arm around her friend.
"Ruby is right," Weiss said, "I never was very good at making friends."
"I'm sure you have many qualities that make you a great friend," Derrial said as he walked up the stairs, "I've seen a couple of those myself today."
They just sat there in the hold until Roman and Jayne came walking through, the two seemed wrapped up in some stories about their 'heroics' over the years.
"So Ruby had chased me to the top of this building and she is yelling at me," Roman was saying, "Me now I'm thinking, 'how persistent is this kid' and was going to face her right there, terrifying scythe-sniper and all, but Cinder had other ideas. Flew my Bullhead right up between the buildings to get me out of there."
"Ha that sounds like this time we got into a bar fight, me the capt'n and Zoe, them gorrham cheaters had us at gun point on a cliff edge when Wash brings the Serenity up behind us and threatens to blow a hole in their little moon," Jayne replied, "Best part is the Serenity ain't got no guns."
"That was risky," Roman said, "Oh look there is some of the troublesome RWBY now."
"Hey Weiss is it true that you froze a guy solid then shattered him like glass," Jayne asked, "Roman has been telling me the craziest stories about you all."
"You really want to find out," Sun asked as he backed away from Weiss who had started ice forming around Myrtenaster, "Man this just got really weird."
"We should go," Blake said, "Now, Weiss don't hurt him to badly."
"Oh ho so she can freeze people," Jayne remarked, "I'll bet that skill could make a fortune."
Sun and Blake backed quickly up the stairs and out of the hold as Weiss stared Roman into a corner.
"I really hope Mal has something for her to hit in a few minutes," Sun said. Blake nodded her agreement and the two went to find either Ruby or Yang to help calm the situation down.
