I'm back! Once again I apologize that it took me so long to update, and I will try to update more frequently, but I can't promise anything. Please don't forget to review.
Pony's POV
Sodapop led me out to the kitchen and I slid into a chair, looking around. I was hoping that being brought here would spark my memory, but so far there was nothing. To be honest I wasn't even sure I wanted to remember anymore. It seemed that every time I got close to remembering something my head would feel like it was being split open. I didn't want that to happen again. Maybe that was because I had the bone in my brain or something. There was still a possibility it wouldn't happen anymore, but I didn't want to find out.
Sodapop set a plate full of chocolate cake in front of me and I smiled.
"I love chocolate cake," I said.
I could feel pressure building up behind my eyes and I dropped the fork I had just picked up. Oh no, here we go again. The pain hit and I screamed, falling back in the chair and landing on the ground. I withered on the ground, my head clutched in my hands. I sensed people around me and then I felt hands grabbing at me.
"Go away!" I yelled.
I didn't want to be touched. I just wanted to be left alone till the pain subsided. The piercing fire in my head slowly dimmed and I stretched out from my fetal position. I sat up and rubbed my temples.
"What was that?" the guy named Two-Bit demanded.
Sodapop put a gentle hand on my arm and I shrugged him off.
"Please don't touch me," I whimpered.
He backed away with a pained expression on his face. I wrapped my arms around my knees and buried my face into my jeans. This had to be the worst thing ever. My mind was practically blank and I couldn't even get close to remembering or my brain would explode.
"Ponyboy, are you alright?" Darry questioned.
I nodded my head, but didn't say anything. The other guy, Steve, sighed and grabbed hold of Two-Bit.
"We should be going, se y'all later," he said.
"Wait, I'm not going anywhere," Two-Bit protested.
"Oh yes you are."
Steve jerked him out of the room and then I heard the front door open and slam shut. I looked up at Darry.
"I don't like this," I told him.
"Neither do I buddy, but we'll get through it. You'll have your memory back in no time and everything will be back to normal," he assured me.
"But every time I get close to remembering I get headaches," I said.
"Is that what just happened Ponyboy?" Sodapop asked.
I nodded. "It was the cake."
I didn't want to think anymore about cause I didn't want to set off another headache.
"Maybe we should go see a doctor," Darry said.
"No! No more doctors, I'm sick and tired of doctors!"
"Alright Ponyboy, but if this keeps up I am going to take you to a doctor. Why don't you go get some sleep?"
I licked my lips and got to my feet. I shuffled back to the room I had just been in and opened the door. Before I walked in I heard Darry speak.
"Don't worry Soda, Pony just needs some time. We'll get through it, but you can't just force him to remember. Just don't bring up Mom and Dad yet cause I think that'll be too much for him."
I frowned. What was he talking about? My Mom and Dad. I didn't know and at this point I didn't care. I walked into the room and shut the door. Falling onto the bed I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
