With her heart practically hammering…in her throat, Tea was half-running half-sliding down the cliff, with the dead leaves crunching below her feet as she did so. Her breathing was coming out loud and hasty, full with agony and fear; fear of what she was about to face. Was she going to face them both dead? Was she going to find one of them injured? She didn't know. She could only hope. As the only sound that reached her ears was the sound of her footsteps, her breathing and perhaps some lone bird's chirping in the forest she feared for the worst. If the two of them were still alive…wouldn't the noise of the combat still be reaching her ears? As she kept sliding down the sound of running water reached her ears as well.
She quickened her pace as she finally reached the bottom of the cliff where the trees were less and left a good sight of the river that was lazily flowing among them. There was a person there lieing to the riverbank where the waters were really shallow as to barely wet the body that was flat on the mattress of dried leaves. Terrified she recognized the silver hair of Bakura's and ran towards him. He was almost naked with barely a few rags covering his loins. His skin was pale…paler than usually. She ran splashing some water as her boots touched the bank and knelt right next to him, half-raising him in her arms.
"Bakura…" she whispered but her voice barely left her throat to come out as a dying expiration instead of an actual whisper
His chocolate eyes flattered and half-opened, as though his eyelids weren't strong enough to open completely anymore. He had two red spots upon his pale skin. One on his left shoulder and one to his left side. Bullet wounds. He was shot after all…
"T-Tea…" he croaked out dreamily as if he was hallucinating, not sure if she was there or not
"Yes! Tell me…" Tea whined, whose eyes were now full of years
He looked at her. His eyes barely focused, already having the shadow of death in them.
"It's…so cold…" he whispered
"Shhhh…" she hushed him in tears taking his face in her hands tenderly, comfortingly
Finally his eyes fastened upon hers the best it was possible.
"T-Tea…" he whispered again and for the first time Tea saw real tenderness in his eyes and not the mocking smirk or the wild triumph, "…Am I…?"
Tea already knew what he wanted to ask as well as she knew he was certain he was dying.
"I will see you again…" she whispered to him
Bakura's eyes slowly rolled at the back of his head for a brief second and his eyelids closed once more, this time forever. His head leaned to the side and he expired for the last time… Tea in tears kissed his forehead for one last time, the pale forehead that was now cold as death itself…as the rocks that were around them…
Footsteps also crisped down the dead leaves as Yami walked from behind a tree holding his side painfully but nevertheless he didn't appear being hurt or seriously injured. Tea's head snapped towards his direction and saw him. Immediately she got back on her feet and turned fully towards him, walking at him with fast, angry steps.
"You killed him" she said as if she was accusing him
"You killed him!" she repeated hitting her fists on his chest, forcing Yami rest his back against a tree brunch
Yami breathed out, his breath coming out of his mouth in white clouds in the bitter, morning cold.
"Now you see why they call me a murderer" he said bitterly
However that earned him yet another punch in his chest.
"You killed him!" she repeated crying, "He only wanted to live! Why should it come this way! Why!"
By saying the last "Why" she punched him once more but this time lower to his side making Yami moan in pain and move his hand that was holding that side move a bit lower for a brief second. Only then Tea lowered her gaze down and saw a small tearing there to his leather waistcoat and the woolen pullover below it. And also…she saw the bleeding wound there…already turning black. She fastened her gaze once more in Yami's crimson eyes and Yami returned her look worriedly. That could only mean one thing:
"Oh, my God…" Tea mumbled slowly backing away from Yami, never stopping staring in his eyes, "…you've been bitten!"
Yami once more held his bitten side, expiring in pain. Yes. He was bitten. When Bakura fell onto him he had anticipated shooting him but right after Bakura fell on him…and bit him. Tea backed down more seeing this, feeling the well-known fear inside her, as if from one moment or the other Yami would transform into a werewolf as well and mangle her. Yami was following with his gaze as she was walking now behind a tree, searching, you'd say, something to put between her and Yami so both would be safe from anything that would happen.
Yami moaned once more as a sharp pain rushed through him and held his side tighter for a moment. Tea gasped and more tears came to her eyes. She lost Bakura…and soon she would lose Yami as well? However Yami removed his hand from the wound. Tea saw in her great shock the blackish bleeding would slowly starting to heal till no mark was left. Yami looked at it and then back at her.
"The poison is already inside me…and it is much worse than this. Werewolf curse…cannot infect me more…" he rasped out
Tea then realized. Yami was a demon. A demon was supposed to be a creature straight from Hell itself. The werewolf curse could not infect him… They remained still, gazing each other, not sure what to say…or how to react…
Back at the village everything seemed like they had been bombarded. Villagers were trying to gather all the broken parts of their houses or save anything they could from the fallen to the ground provisions. When Tea and Yami stepped into the village, the sight was not exactly miserable though. It sounded…promising to say the very least. Luckily there weren't any fatalities. The damage in houses could be repaired, the small loss of food could also be taken care of. Luckily the most important and irreplaceable thing in the world; human lives, was not taken away from them. As they marched down the village side by side occasionally some head would raise to see them pass by before bending down again, continuing the job the person has been doing.
"Well, look who's here…" they heard a voice
They turned around and saw Mai being carried away by two men. She had her arms wrapped around their necks as they were helping her stand. She had wounds to her shoulders, crooks between her neck and shoulder and in several other parts of her body but seemed alright nevertheless. They walked to her slowly. Mai hadn't lost her personality even after such a serious confrontation. Therefore she smirked. Seeing Yami and Tea she could tell Yami had managed to finish the werewolf off.
"I heard you killed him"
Yami didn't answer. He just stared at her from top to bottom.
"Were you bitten?" he asked her
"No. These are just scratches by his nails. Don't worry"
Yami breathed out through his nose in a bit of relief. It would be too hard for Tea if he was to kill Mai too in case she was bitten. She was her guardian after all.
"But" Mai continued with a small smirk, "I heard you weren't so lucky. Were you bitten?"
"I was" Yami plainly said. There was no point in hiding it after all, "But it won't affect me. My body is rotten enough with Evil so no other evil can affect me!"
"I see…" she only said
She looked around for a second.
"It's too loud to speak here. Come to my house. In one hour"
And then left the men carry her away leaving Tea and Yami behind.
Within an hour they were already marching towards the door and knocking it. Not too late after an extremely upset Joey opened the door for them. His face was difficult to read by the extreme amount of feelings. It could be anger, fear, relief, guilt…everything and nothing of the above.
"I was in the basement" he said frowning in a quivering voice, quivering in anger with himself, "…when the werewolf attack happened! I hadn't heard a thing! If I had…I would've been here to help 'er!"
Yami gave him a sympathetic look and then placed his large hand upon Joey's shoulder.
"You already did whatever you could" he said in his low baritone voice, "It is not your fault. Luckily she wasn't bitten either…"
"Is she inside?" Tea asked softly
Joey nodded and stepped aside for the two of them to walk in. When they did, he pushed the door shut behind them.
"She's in the living room" he said walking past them, leading the way
Mai was sitting on the coach in the living room. She was wearing clean clothes but it was obvious she was wrapped in bandages. Obviously Joey had taken care of her wounds.
"How are you feeling?" Tea asked worriedly sitting beside her and taking her hands in hers
"I've been better! But first…" she looked up at Yami and she was serious, "Did you kill him?"
"Yes" Yami said plainly, "Bakura is dead"
But right away he turned he gaze outside the window and didn't even pay attention to Joey who came with a disc with glasses of wine on it. He didn't even touch the warm alcoholic drink.
"What is it?" Mai asked, who could see something was the matter
"It was too soon" Yami said. He turned his gaze back at his audience, "Full Moon is in three days. He wasn't supposed to have transformed before then. If anything, not in the middle of the day. Something must have happened back then to him. Some dark force made the process faster. Something dark enough"
"Seto Kaiba?"
Yami nodded.
"Hmm…" Mai mumbled in deep thought
"Say!" Yami suddenly said as if some sudden inspiration had stroke him, "Where did he come from?"
"Huh?"
"When he came to the village! Do you know what direction he came from?!"
Mai thought for a little and then stood up wincing in pain and walked up till the window.
"There!" she said pointing with her index finger somewhere in the forest, "From the East road in the mountains"
Yami looked towards the direction her finger was pointing at
"Is there some building there?"
"Kaiba Estate" Mai answered
Yami's interest was officially drawn and leaned closer to the window.
"It was abandoned for many years now" Mai continued, "but it was useful for the Kaiba family to spend the summer months there. It was their summer palace"
"How far is it?"
"Around a day long with the horse"
"Damn!" Yami cursed, "We don't have so much time!" He found his composure soon and checked the forest better through the window. "What about that way?" he said pointing to a direction through the forest instead of the path.
"That?" Mai sounded amused, "That is the abandoned forest path. It was used by hunters for some time. If you follow it, you will reach the Kaiba Estate in a few hours, perhaps by nightfall but only desperate people would follow it anymore"
"Well…we're not exactly calm and taking our time at the moment" Yami said in bitter sarcasm moving away from the window, "We're going through that path. Joey, get ready! I might need you. Prepare fast horses!"
"Wait" Mai said, "Take Tea with you too. She will guide you there"
Yami seemed to be hesitating but then he realized they didn't have the luxury of time at that moment. Full moon was coming closer (his time was coming closer) and every moment they would lose could be fatal for they wouldn't find what they wanted to that estate.
"Alright" he agreed, "But what about our mean of transport?"
Tea placed the last saddle upon a fine, sturdy, black stallion. Three of the strong horses were already snorting, hitting their strong legs to the ground and they seemed ready and eager to start their trip, to run.
"There!" Tea said satisfied, "Transylvanian horses. No one can keep up with them, not even a werewolf!" she turned around with her back against the strong animal to smirk at Yami, "Anything else?"
Yami only smiled and gave her a peck to the cheek before going to mount his stallion. Tea smiled back and followed. Soon the three of them were riding their way through thick branches and countless trees upon a carpet of dead leaves. Wind was hitting their faces and waving their coats or capes as they were riding their way through the old forest. Tea was an incredibly good rider and kept up with Yami almost easily. Yami often caught himself turning to look at her and smirking at her. However he soon focused completely to the street before him, just in case he needed to bend low or to move some tree branch with his arm or make his horse jump over some large root (and those moments were not few at all) so he wouldn't find himself off the horse and on the muddy ground. He could only see one thing: his destination coming closer. Soon the three riders saw the large building coming to view behind the trees, a gray mass of stone and glass windows…
Before the gate they came to a halt and tied the horses somewhere close. Taking a thousands of precautions, Yami started stepping closer, having his pistol ready just in case. The gate was open, as though it was inviting them…or mocking them.
"Stay close…and for no reason do not let your guard down…" he whispered looking constantly above at the towers of the summer palace.
It sure seemed abandoned for hundreds of years, but something in that dead silence was bothering Yami so much that was making the hair of his nape stand. It probably was his Hunter's instinct (or the Demon one perhaps, Yami could hardly see the difference anymore) but still something inside him was telling him to keep all his senses alert to the every sound. Even the croaking of frogs who had forgotten to sleep the winter away or the constant chirping of birds in the forest was making him alert. They stepped in the entrance hall that had a red like blood carpet on the floor. The stonewalls around them, decorated with countless paintings seemed ready to swallow them.
"Alright…" Yami monologized arming his pistol, "Here goes…"
"Wait" Tea stopped him holding him by the wrist, "I think we should split up"
Yami looked at her as if he couldn't believe what he had heard.
"You must be crazy if you think I will leave you alone in this place wondering around with Seto Kaiba hiding, possibly, to the next corner!"
"We can cover better distance like that" she retorted, "Besides I am armed as well. If anything happens I promise to run and not to fight! I've learnt my lesson after that night in the forest you saved me from the wolves" and she kissed him.
Yami kissed her back and pulled back looking at her.
"Wolves were just wolves… What I am mostly afraid is not whether you learnt your lesson or not, is whether you will have time to run"
"I will have" she smirked and pulled her cape from her side a little to reveal a bottle with Holy Water.
Yami smiled defeated.
"Alright then. Tea go to the right and Joey take the stairs to the left"
"Oh, I am so touched you're worried about me" Joey said sarcastically, "I really enjoy climbing stairs up in a haunted house with a 450-year-old vampire ready to suck me dry!"
Yami simply rolled his eyes and walked towards the center of the hall while Tea took the path on the right.
"Right…great…we split up…perfect plan…" Joey monologized in bitter sarcasm before taking his own way too towards upstairs.
Yami walked carefully through extremely large corridors with marble columns that had sculptures of dragons and monsters on top of them. Staying alert he opened a large door to get into a marble-dressed room that looked like a ball-hall. It was already in a purplish color since the dusk had fallen for good over the cold palace. The room was large, cold, and unfriendly. Yami could hear the clicking sound of his boots upon the marble floor even if he was stepping as carefully as a cat. Looked around for one last time before running to the other side of it…
Meanwhile Tea was on a heavily decorated corridor. She was holding her sword up and her other hand was always hovering close to her belt just in case she would need the Holy Water. The thick carpet below her feet was drowning the sound of her heels. She felt protected by sound at least. However all her nerves were so tensed, she had the impression they would snap and break any moment now. Suddenly a soft sough made her jerk up and hold out her sword.
"Who's there?! Show yourself!"
The sough was heard again and when Tea's heart was ready to reach her throat behind the corner…came out…Kisara. She was wearing her usual clothes…it was the same pale complexion…the same white hair…the same blue eyes…the same fragile, slim body… Tea felt herself gaping, staring at the girl she never expected to see again, at least not alive, walking, not safe and sound, anyway.
"K-Kisara…?" she barely croaked out
Kisara looked at her in the eyes, and Tea noticed her eyes were never duller, colder before, not that girl who had eyes like crystal sapphires. What had Seto Kaiba done to her, Tea thought. Then Kisara walked away.
"Wait!" Tea ran after her
She could still see the slender figure slowly sliding away as if she weighted nothing and her feet weren't even touching the floor and Tea found herself following her like hypnotized, or better running after her desperate she would lose her from her sight like a fairy or a ghost.
Meanwhile Joey had climbed countless stairs holding up a candle he took out of his small bag around his belt and lit it. He didn't like the idea of separation. He didn't like it at all. He pushed a heavy, wooden door open and found himself walking into an enormous library. Countless shelves were piled up all the way almost till the ceiling and they were all packed with books.
"Jackpot!" he whispered to himself approaching to the shelf with shaking hands in excitement, "Finally some good evidence! Maybe I can find something to help me with that goddamn book!" and he started searching the shelves.
Yami's patience was running short. If he was going to show his face why didn't he do it already, that damn vampire? He opened yet another door and stepped into a dark room. It looked like a small library, or perhaps a reading room or an office. However to Yami every single shelf of books around him, every candle-base, anything, seemed like a hiding place for evil…like a weapon it could be used against him any moment now. He walked a bit further, careful at every step as though he expected the wooden floor collapse from below his feet. Sometimes he would touch his back against a shelf as if he was expecting a multiple attack from. Suddenly a barely noticeable move of a piece of cloth caught his eye. He only spotted it with the corner of it. Black and perhaps…red?! Yami gasped and emerged from behind a shelf holding out his gun, pointing the figure. There, in front of the window, was no one else but Seto Kaiba himself. The dark man turned around and smirked.
"Hello Atem" he said in his heavy accent showing his perfectly white teeth
Meanwhile Tea was still running after the figure but she had started running out of breath. She turned around and saw Kisara's figure getting lost from behind the corner.
"Wait!" she called but when she turned around the corner herself…
She saw no one. She remained there, panting with sweat covering her forehead slightly, glistering in the pale moonlight in the room. She looked around, searched for her but no sign of her. A sudden, dry sound from some floor above made her jump in surprise.
"Oh, no!" she whispered in a worried expiration of the air in her lungs, "Yami!" and stormed out of the room as fast as she could. Only a hint of cloth moved behind the column…
Yami was still frozen to his place with the barrel of his silver gun always pointing towards the vampire's chest, glaring daggers to the opponent he had before him. However the other man didn't even drop his smile.
"You've finally decided to come and face me, Atem" it was more of a remark rather than a question
"You!" Yami spat at him venomously, "What have you done to her! Speak now!"
He was bellowing like a wild beast and he knew it. He could feel his blood raging to his temples and his temperature rising. Seto Kaiba grinned in amusement. (adding more to his fury and anger)
"Who?" he asked as if he was asking Yami to explain what he was talking about
"You know exactly who I mean! Where's Kisara?!" he demanded, "What have you done to her! Is she alright?!"
"Maybe…"
The vampire's unspecified answer nearly kicked Yami's sanity of the edge.
"Have you hurt her! Where is she?!"
No answer.
"You killed her?! You hurt her?!" Yami kept on demanding, the gun already shaking in his hands
"Perhaps…"
Yami growled, a growl that reminded more of a wounded lion, a furious tiger. Perhaps it was a combination of the two. His hands clenched on the gun…and warped it…
Joey was still searching the library. Opened a book and left it back again. He did the same with another one, and another one and another. He was growing impatient.
"Come on, babe…" he monologized for billionth time, "Where is the damn thingy? Come on…"
Yami was cracking his knuckles as he kept his palms half open like spiders, as though he was expecting to grow claws down there.
"I will ask you once more…!" he growled a vicious growl deep his throat, "Did-You-Hurt-Her!" he was pointing out every word seperately
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't" Seto Kaiba answered enigmatically once more, "Or…you may say she is in this very building…in this very palace…" He smirked at Yami's direction seeing his eyes widen in shock, "But…" he continued, "I'm afraid you and your friends do not have much time. I have already placed bombs all around the place. It won't be long till they go off"
Yami's eyes were now two slit-pupil pair of blood pools as his fingers kept cracking in the knuckles as if he was scratching something invisible. He was growling deep in his throat.
"You…you monster!" he spat in a deadly whisper
He then growled loudly one last time and rushed forward starting attacking feverishly using every technique he knew. His hands were shaped as if he had claws. He was only half fighting. His other half was like a beast that wished to mangle its victim. Seto Kaiba was moving aside like a bullfighter, grinning in amusement or stopping Yami's attacks with some easy block moves.
"Ah! I've seen you've gotten faster, Atem! That's good to see!"
Yami growled again and leaped, pushing against the wall with both hands and feet as if he was some spider that had climbed on it, and went flying towards Seto Kaiba again but he was prepared for once more. It was as if he could predict his moves before he made them! Yami kept attacking in his frenzy, growling and roaring sometimes. Seto Kaiba didn't even seem worried.
"Playtime is over!" he said after a little pushing Yami against the chest
Yami was sent flying backwards till his back hit the wall and he gave out a last breath of pain before remaining there.
"Not yet…" Seto Kaiba said, "You have not awakened yet…you are still no match for me…" he started flying to wards the window, it opened, "In any case you and your friends better leave this place before everything gets blown up!" and with those words he flew outside. The window close behind him.
Yami growled in pain but then Tea rushed in.
"Yami!" she screamed and ran by his side kneeling beside him, "Are you alright?! Are you hurt?!"
"No…" he said standing up slowly, his eyes back to normal, "No I'm fine… We must get out of here! The place is ready to be blown up!"
"What?!"
By the moment they would have started panicking a really happy Joey came here holding up a leather brown bag saying triumphantly:
"I finally found the book that explains the code! I finally found the book that explains the code!" but immediately when he saw the other two running at him: "Hey were are we going?"
"THROUGH THAT WINDOW!" both Yami and Tea said grabbing one arm each and pulling a protesting Joey along with them
The two of them carrying Joey rushed through the glass window, which broke into thousands of pieces as they jumped out of it, and just in time because when they did, a loud and large explosion happened inside every room and floor of the building, sending fire even outside the windows. The trio fell from the second highest floor down into the moat that existed around the house with a rain of fire or flaming glass following them along with some broken pieces of wood and stone. All of them took their heads out of the water taking a loud, big breath.
"Joey!" Yami half-coughed, "Joey the book…!"
"In my bag!" Joey replied spitting water, "It is my invention. 100% water-safe. I could drag the book in it down to freaking Atlantis!"
"Joey you're a genius!" Yami exclaimed enthusiastically
"A genius with access to unstable chemicals!" Joey replied humorously
Their little party was interrupted by the sharp laughter of Seto Kaiba himself who was flying backwards slowly (as if pulled by an invisible rope) and had in his arms (technically standing to his feet) Kisara! She seemed soulless like a doll. When Yami saw this started swimming as fast as he could towards him as he saw the canal gate closing slowly, but with all that mass of clothes he was wearing and the guns and weapons he was carrying, that was a fertile effort. He reached the canal's entrance but right then the gate closed. Seto Kaiba was still floating outside. Yami was now grabbing and shaking the gate furiously and he was even trying to bend the iron bars like a trapped tiger that wished to get out of her cage.
"Congratulations for making it in time" Seto Kaiba said in his loud voice, "But I am afraid your trip here was meaningless"
And with a flip of his cape, Kisara disappeared into thin air, like an illusion, as if she was made of air itself.
"Kisara!" Yami screamed, "What have you done to her, you monster!"
"She was never here!" Seto Kaiba said, "She is resting safely in my castle already, no, two days now. And you Atem…you will face me when the time is right…"
He started floating backwards and away.
"It won't be long anyway…full moon is coming!"
Yami was now grabbing the bars for dear life, shaking them in frenzy"
"Kisara! KISARA!" he was yelling even if he knew she couldn't listen to him, "Kisara! I'll come for you! I'll come for you and save you! I SWEAR TO GOD!"
And Seto Kaiba disappeared completely in the night. Yami banged at the canal's gate feverishly while staying afloat at the same time. He turns around to the other two floating beside him.
"I must save her!" he says
"No, you don't" surprisingly it was Joey the one who talked
Yami's head snapped at him.
"What?!" he was shocked, "Why?"
"I cabled Rome earlier today to apprise them of our situation" he replied in a lamenting almost apologizing voice
"And what did they say?!" Yami was growing impatient
"They said that your first and only priority should be killing Seto Kaiba and even if you somehow kill him, Rome orders you will terminate Kisara as well.
Yami was never more shocked or furious in his entire life.
"But she's not evil!"
"I know but she can be used for evil, or she can cause it. You've seen the reactions she causes among her own village every time she passes by thanks to her character-…"
Yami didn't let him finish though as his sanity had been long lost to thin air after what he had just heard.
"Do they know her?! Have they ever talked to her?! WHO ARE THEY TO JUDGE?!" he said almost in one breath growing angrier and angrier.
Joey opened his mouth to answer but Yami didn't give him the chance to. He grabbed Joey's neck with his strong hand almost cutting his air at once.
"And what of ME?! Did you tell them what I'M to become?!"
"Yami no!" Tea yelped helplessly grabbing hold of Yami's shoulders from behind but Yami didn't even feel her touching him, he only had Joey against the canal's bar-gate by the neck stabbing him with his slit-pupil eyes and furious gaze.
"Did they tell you how to kill ME?!"
He lifted him up with one arm, pinning him even further to the gate and the more he spoke, the more he tightened his grip around Joey's throat, while he struggled vainly to free himself.
"The correct ANGLE of the stake as it enters my heart?!"
Tea was absolutely terrified by his sudden outburst and she was now hitting her fists against Yami's back to get him to release Joey while screaming screaming:
"No! Stop!" but Yami didn't feel her neither heard her not even this time
Yami's hand was tightening still, his iris already dilate and began to glow once more an eerie bloody red as he yelled:
"The exact measure of GOLD in each BULLET or the SPIKE?! HUH!?"
Joey croaked pitifully in Yami's grip holding, in vain, the iron fingers around his neck hoping to get the grip a bit looser as he spoke pleadingly:
"N-No…I-I…left you out!"
Yami's eyes looked even more savage, he grimaced and doubled over, releasing a coughing and struggling to breathe, Joey from his grasp. Then he clutched himself, as a vicious roar bellowed through his lips. He snarled and sneered while clenching his fists or grabbing the gate bars trying to fight away yet another berserk outburst. Joey and Tea were now floating close to him, staring at him all the time; fearing for and of him at the same time. As his eyes returned back to normal Yami drew a couple of heavy and raspy breaths. He had barely realized what he had done… He felt himself being filled by guilt and remorse.
"I'm sorry…" he panted in a whisper at Joey.
Joey only nodded his head. Yami turned towards Tea now.
"…It's starting…"
Tea, the only thing she could do, was to stare at him, biting her bottom lip…
Meanwhile in Seto Kaiba's castle everything was calm. Seto Kaiba was sitting cross legged in an armchair gazing at the mountains and the bright moon hovering above it, shining upon everything and everyone, painting the trees silver, dressing everything in a cold, silver light…
He heard her heartbeat, her footsteps, her blood running through her veins long before hearing the door handle turning around slowly and the door opening or the shy sound of her feet as she entered the room where he was. She had her head lowered and her cheeks were slightly painted by a pink blush that was powdering her cheekbones just like sugar is powdering a sweet cookie that barely had come out of the baker's oven. Seto Kaiba smiled and stood up from his armchair.
"Kisara…" he said
His tone could be interpreted even as "warm-hearted"
"How can I help you this calm night?"
Kisara was playing with her long, loose hair. She seemed nervous.
"I've been thinking…you know…about…your proposal…"
Seto Kaiba's lips drew back forming yet another smirk. But that smirk was somehow softer. It was as if it was a satisfied smile, powdered with sweet anticipation.
"And…?" he asked
Kisara raised her head and for the first time since the conversation started, her blue eyes locked with his icy-colored ones.
"And…I accept"
Finally I took my lazy fingers to write the next chapter! This is a gift for a friend's birthday. Happy birthday dear!
Uh-Oh...Yami has started smapping, hasn't he?
I was imagining this song starting to play by the moment Yami kisses Tea's cheek and all the way till the estate (Van Helsing Journey to Transylvania)
and this while Yami was slowly losing it till the end of his fight with Kaiba when he pushes her against the wall (Blood-C Hakai no Wa)
To be honest Van Helsing's outburst (from which I was inspired for this chapter -obviously-) is also one of my favorite parts of the movie
Also...oops...Kisara agreed! What's going to happen?! Wait to find out!
(a quote site helped me with some descriptions here in the end )
Please comment! Enjoy!
