Detective Monetti walked into the quiet precinct that he had semi-retired in, they had given him the job when he started to get too old for the crimes he had experienced in New York, Hartford Connecticut was more likely to experience white collar crime more than murders, rape and kidnapping. Sitting at his desk he yawned and stretched, enjoying the quiet of the room, but his peace was interrupted by a file being slammed onto his desk,
"You have experience in this sort of field, you can take it" his captain walked away leaving him to peruse the file,
Detective Monetti pulled his trench coat back on and walked outside to climb in his car and figure out as much as he could about the victim's family, turning around quickly he ran for the elevator, he needed to speak to the forensics team first, well the one guy they had that could use computers well enough to access almost anything.
"Joey I need you to pull the financial records of any names in this file and let me know what you have found out"
"Will do Monetti, I will give you a call as soon as I find anything"
Detective Monetti slowed his car as it drove along the road that was taking him to see the victim's family, having policed in on of the roughest area's of NY, he was still struggling to get used to the lavish homes he passed on a daily basis, the cars being driven by teenagers who had barely passed their driving tests. Pulling into the driveway of a particular large house the Detective met with police officers who filled him in on what they had found out, Monetti told the officers to take the info back and give it to Joey, Monetti knocked on the door and it was answered by a maid who looked frightened for her life.
Monetti was led to a lounge area and met with two women, a man and a child. He tried to gain the families attention but was unable, the maid approached the man in front of him,
"Mr Gilmore, Sir"
"Yes" the man mumbled,
"Detective Monetti to see you Sir" The man stood faster than the Detective thought possible, the two men approached each other and shook hands, Monetti explained what he had been doing so far and his motives for doing so, Richard agreed that this was a good idea and anything he could do to help he would.
After several hours the Detective left the house and was exhausted by the scrutiny that he had been under and he had put the family under.
Joey had called Monetti several times but he hadn't answered the phone, finally the call went through and Joey detailed all the information he had found out about anyone related to the family in any kind of sense, and Monetti figured that something wasn't quite right about one of the women involved.
