At The Hospital
Logan was still in his coma, Mitchum normally an unreligious man was praying to god that his son would live and that Rory would be OK, he watched as his son twitched and his eyes moved inside their sockets, sure that Logan was having a nightmare but feeling helpless as unlike when he was a child he couldn't wake him from what was tormenting him. Shira had sat unresponsive and zoned out at the other side of their sons bed, her facade of stoic through all was slowly cracking and Mitchum was sure it wouldn't last much longer, he was ready to be strong for his wife.
Inside Logan's Head
Logan exited his car and walked up to the diner, the key being on top of the door frame as usual he unlocked the door and let himself in, locking the door behind him he made his way up the stairs to the cozy apartment above. Logan opened the glass door and smirked as leaning against the doorframe he watched Rory Gilmore moving through the room, singing and swaying to the music, the song changed and Logan swooped towards her, catching her arms he wrapped them around him and began to dance with her, swaying gently, her face hiding the obvious blush from being caught dancing and singing when she thought she was alone, after a short time she had gained her resolve back and looked up into his eyes, the sight mesmerising as they danced, their gaze broken by a noise of glass breaking down stairs, Logan's head shot to the open door, grabbing the baseball bat from aside the coats he moved his way carefully down the stairs, he focused on everything around him as he shuffled quietly into the open area of the diner, Rory screaming broke his focus and he turned to run back the way he had come, before he had a chance to even move a dull thud was heard and the floor rushed up to meet him, more blows landed, this time by feet, a kick to the head sent his vision clouded and his head spinning, in his dazed fog he say a woman being carried past him, clearly passed out, he wondered who she was and where he was, a final blow sent him into nothingness.
Logan exited his car... the events of the night ran continuously through his head, like a bad movie played on a loop.
The Cabin
Rory awoke to voices, the men were back. Opening her eyes slowly she turned her head and watched as the younger man collapsed onto the sofa, the older man seemed to be holding up a young woman who looked very drunk, she had almost passed out standing up, the man leered in Rory's direction as he placed the woman on the bed next to her, tied the woman's leg to the same post she was tied to and moved to sleep on the airbed that had been set up in front of the couch. Rory sat up once she was sure the men were asleep and turned the woman on her side, Rory knew enough about drunk states to know that sleeping on your side was best in case you threw up whilst sleeping. Laying next to the girl Rory wasn't sure what was going to happen in the morning but she willed herself to sleep so that whatever happened she could be ready.
Vanderbilt Estate - Monetti POV
Detective Monetti was interviewing Logan and Rory's friends, he started with Stephanie Vanderbilt,
"Miss Vanderbilt, where were you on the night that Rory Gilmore disappeared" Det. Monetti watched the young woman as she looked at the two men aside her, she looked reluctant to answer but after the smaller of the two men nodded she answered,
"I was with Colin, we had started a relationship some months ago and we had gone on a date" the taller of the two men seemed shocked about this Det. Monetti noted,
"Why didnt you tell me love, this is brilliant, you two have been doing this idiotic denial dance since boarding school" the taller one exclaimed, Det. Monetti noted down the man's accent as possibly Australian.
"Do you agree" he asked Colin McRae and the man nodded,
"And where were you Finnegan Rothschild?" Finn looked startled for a second but relaxed quickly,
"Don't call me that mate, makes me think my father is in the room, I was at home alone, but I was on the phone to a lovely lady by the name of Rosemary Cavendish who you can ask we talked for a long while possibly till early hours" Finn explained,
Det. Monetti asked the trio some more questions and his gut quickly told him these three were not involved, he decided to ask them one more question, he wanted to know something and these three seemed like the type to not hold back.
"Can anyone tell me of Mrs Shira Huntzberger's relationship with both Rory and Logan, I have heard some murmurings and I would like to know if there any basis in this so I can investigate properly or leave it be depending on circumstances"
"Did she do this mate, I will kill her, she always hated Rory from the minute they met" Finn enquired,
"I don't think so as of yet, I just would like more information about their relationship from someone who is not going to sugar coat it in the name of Society" Det. Monetti explained trying to alleviate the three's suspicions so that nothing would be done about it before he had all the evidence.
"Well Logan has never had a good relationship with either of his parents for as long as we could remember, that was until logan left his father's company to open his own business in California, this shook Mitchum's head up enough to realise that all his communications and contact he had had with his children had been rather business transaction like up until then, Mitchum started trying harder to be supportive and reliable as a parent, Mitchum and Rory never really got on until she told him off some years ago and then his opinion of her seemed to change" Colin explained about Mitchum's parental style,
"I know you asked about Shira but we are just trying to fill you in on Logan's relationship with his parents and by proxy Rory as they both didn't get along with her for different reasons, I'm sure Mitchum was under the impression that Rory was a weak-willed wannabe-journalist who had found a way to enamour herself to Logan using her womanly wiles and such otherwise she wouldn't make it in the business, Mitchum was always somewhat a chauvinist when it came to women working, it comes from growing up in society I am afraid" Finn further explained,
"Whereas Shira is a whole other story, Shira isn't from society she grew up on a farm on the outskirts of a small town such as the one Rory grew up in, she never had much and she came to Hartford under the impressions she could make herself a better life by meeting a rich man, which she did as she got pregnant to Mitchum after meeting in a club and having a one night stand, that meant Mitchum had to marry her as a man of society and they stayed together in a loveless marriage with a 3 year old daughter when Shira got pregnant with the male heir that Mitchum wanted, after that Mitchum pretty much ignored his wife and daughter, focusing into moulding his son into the perfect heir apparent, Shira controls her daughters life, she decided everything from when and how Honor got married and what she would wear, she would constantly set Logan up on dates with what she saw as respectable society girls when in fact they were gold-diggers like she was, she hates Rory because even though Rory had the freedom of growing up in a normal life she is still in society, she got to have a debutante ball and she was dating a society man out of love not because he had no choice. Shira despises Rory, I'm sure its because of Shira has always tried to get in good with the queen of society social circles Emily Gilmore, she tried to muscle her way into being a member of the DAR, even though she has no ancestors that were involved in the American Revolution, Emily wouldn't allow it just because she married into money, its not acceptable and Emily is a snob lets face it so she is very unwilling to let Shira rise above the status she has of married into money having arrived on the first bus from hicksville as Emily calls it" Steph rambled, Monetti kept up well, the boys smirking as they knew Steph saw this as the perfect gossiping opportunity.
Nice bit of Shira bashing there... please review my brain is telling me that the quality of this is quickly going down hill, i need to know your opinions to make sure I aren't turning this story into a s**t show - Lister4eva
