Lorelai called Mitchum and told him that they had had a text from Rory, but warned him that had instructed to tell no-one just in case, Mitchum assumed this meant Logan so he didn't tell Shira either in case she let it slip and got Logan's hopes up if and when he came out of the coma.
The Gilmore's moods had brightened and they were now hoping and praying she would be returned to them, they had the assurance from the Detective that they were going after the signal, they prayed she would be found.
The Forest Rangers knocked on the door to the cabin, the owner had said it was empty for the season due to some renovations that had just been completed, the Rangers were skeptical that they would be there as it was in a secure part of the forrest. They received no answer so they forced the door open and shocked at what they saw, the bed had ropes tied to it, the floor strewn with litter and old food wrappers, womens shoes thrown in the corner. The Rangers called in their discovery, it wasn't long before Hartford squad cars were pulling up outside and a man the rangers assumed was climbed out of his car.
"They're not here" the ranger told the detective.
Calling for roadblocks to be put on all major roads the Det. climbed back in his car and shook his head, he had just missed them, banging his fist on his dashboard, it was safe to say he was pissed off.
Meanwhile in the Kidnapper's Car
Rory saw several police cars speed past the truck, feeling as though she was never going to see her family again she began to think, franticly trying to come up with a plan to get anyone's attention. Sapphire was relatively calm next to her, Rory assumed she was in denial about what was happening and didn't notice that Sapphire was fiddling with the ropes that bound her wrists to the back of the passenger side seat, it wasn't until she had gotten one hand free did Rory notice as she then began to undo Rory's restraints. The two men in the front were too scared and too busy trying to plan to realise that their captives were up to something, Sapphire used hand gestures to try and explain the plan the best she could, when Rory finally nodded she hoped the other girl really did understand what she wanted her to do.
Sapphire pulled the length of rope tight between her hands, and raised three fingers, lowering each one by one as a signal to Rory to get ready, the girls swooped their arms forward the rope catching under each mans chin and pulled back hard, the element of surprise was on the girls side as the strength of the men should have overpowered the girls efforts but the men couldn't get their fingers underneath the rope.
Feeling his throat closing and the last of the air leaving his lungs the older man began thrashing wildly, he scrambled for anything to get the rope from around his neck, finding a knife in the passenger door pocket he began stabbing wildly trying to get the woman to let go, he struck a few times but she still wouldn't let go, he tried weakly to get her off of him once more but as his eyes began to fog and the thumping in his ears got worse, his brain gave out and he passed out.
Rory wasn't as strong as Sapphire and she used her legs as leverage on the back of the seat to pull as hard as she could, the rope biting into her fingers and palm she heard herself screaming, she begged herself not to let go, she saw the older man swipe with the knife, her brain not registering in her panic that he had struck her arm, the wound wasn't deep but he kept swiping and Rory watched in horror as the knife sunk into the other woman repeatedly, she kept pulling on the rope hoping the younger man would be unconscious before her strength gave out.
The younger man felt the rope around his neck, he pushed himself back to try and get some air into his constricted windpipe, but it failed, his vision went blurry and he began to swerve in the road, his foot going dead, like lead on the accelerator, the car sped up.
Sapphire noticed the trajectory of the car and pulled Rory down on the seat next to her and covered her body with hers, the car sped up and hit the tree, the branch spearing through the window.
Sapphire is a smart girl isn't she... well I wonder what's gonna happen next xx
