Steph slammed her car door and stomped up the driveway to Logan's home, pushing the front door open quickly and with so much force it nearly slammed shut as it swung back around,

"COLIN" she yelled as she entered the atrium,

"Steph" Logan climbed down the stairs in his robe, "What's wrong"

"Where is he" Steph asked, still frantic,

"Colin? He took Rose out for a short while why?" Logan asked, Steph pulled her phone out, tapped it a few times then shoved the screen in Logan's face, his involuntary response was to back away, grabbing the phone out of her hand he looked at the screen and smirked,

"This is not a laughing matter Logan who told him to buy a ring, who put that fucking stupid idea into his head, because you and I both know that it isn't just any old ring is it? What am I going to do" Steph was getting more and more worked up as she ranted, Logan grabbed her arm and pulled her up the stairs she didn't seem to notice however as she was still in full rant mode, he opened the bedroom door and peeked his head in to make sure Rory was decent, she was sat on the bed with some flannel pajamas on, clearly his as they looked way too big, he passed her the phone, spun Steph around and sat her on the end of the bed, asked Rory if she needed anything, she told him she would text him a list and he left, he hoped Rory would get her to calm down, and he felt bad for not being more helpful but he knew he would struggle to understand the problem and he knew Rory had a way of wording Steph's worries so that they sounded less catastrophic and this often helped Steph work around them or accept the reality in front of her. Rory tapped Steph on the shoulder and encouraged her to scoot up the bed, she took her shoes and jacket off and followed Rory's instructions. Climbing under the duvet she explained what she had discovered when she logged into Colin's internet banking account by accident as the app had both accounts registered and she entered the wrong pin, she saw the charges for Disney store and a children's clothing store, her curiosity made her continue to look when the new charge pinged through and she freaked out, she explained that she knew what she had done was wrong and she knew she had crossed a line but she couldn't help it after she realized.

"Would it be so bad if Colin did propose?" Rory asked, Steph however didn't answer, she looked down at the duvet she was pinching between her fingers and Rory saw tears, calling Logan she gave him her list and he said he would be back before long with the required items, Rory silently switched on the TV and found a movie, it didn't matter which one she just needed to make sure Steph knew she would wait until she was ready to talk, after Logan returned with the various junk food items and the pair were about half way through Steph piped up,

"I guess if i am going to get married I really should stop with all the junk food"

"Does that mean, if he asks you are going to say yes?" Rory asked quietly unsure as to whether Steph was joking or not, and when Steph smiled and nodded Rory squealed. It didn't take long for Steph to be back to her normal bubbly self and when Colin walked in later with a tired Rose, he smiled at Steph and they decided to leave together. Logan and his girls began watching TV when the door opened and Fin walked in carrying bags, he took them upstairs and after a few trips he pushed Sapphire inside in her wheel chair, she asked Rory to come to her room with her and Rory got up and followed, Finn tapped Logan on the shoulder,

"Come help me empty the car"

"There's more?" Logan asked incredulously,

"Yeah those were just Sapphires bags, the rest are what Colin bought Rose" Finn explained, after emptying the car, Logan decided that he would put everything away before Colin came home with Rose. It wasn't long and Colin came waltzing into the house with Rose in tow, Rose seemed happy but tired and when Rory and Steph came down the stairs, Rose burst out into a fit of giggles, Colin's eyes widened, his confidence in the young girls secret keeping abilities waning, he grabbed Steph's hand, his excuse was taking her home and they both left.

Finn came down the stairs, slumping onto the sofa, it wasn't long before he was asleep.

2 months later

Finn walked into the house that Huntzberger built and smirked as he seemed to have stumbled upon Rose's attempt at making her sleeping father pretty, Logan's cheeks were bright orange, his lips were purple and his eyebrows were huge and dark, Finn laughed heartily at the sight of one his best friends, just as Rose reached for a bottle of nail polish Finn snapped out of hilarity and whisked her up above his head,

"what have you done to Daddy" he smirked at the child,

"Daddy is pretty now" Rose smiled down at her uncle Finn,

"What do you say, me and you go see Aunty Sapphire and Grandma at the Inn?" he asked her after putting her down on the ground,

"Yeah" she squealed,

"Well you go put your shoes on and we will go" he told the girl who the ran off to her room, Finn grabbed a sticky note out of Rory's office and left a note for Logan on his forehead but not before snapping a picture.

Rose came running back into the living room, her shoes and coat on, Finn held his hand out to her, which she took and they were soon on their travels. Arriving at the Inn he parked and unbuckled Rose, walking inside the heavenly smell decided for him that he was hungry. Walking up to the front desk he waited for Michel to turn his attention to them and asked for a table for lunch, and asked the always disgruntled frenchman to see if Sapphire and Lorelai could join them. Finn sat at the table indicated to him by a waiter and asked if they could have some drinks whilst they waited, a short time later Rose yelled "Grandma" indicating to Finn that Lorelai had arrived,

"Hey Finn, what are you doing her, is everything alright?" Lorelai asked,

"Yes dear lady, we are fine, me and the little princess here decided to come have lunch and was hoping you and Sapphire could join us, I did ask Michel to see if he could find the two of you but it has seemed to have slipped his mind" Finn smiled at her,

"I will go and find her shall I and we will join you soon" Lorelai left and returned with Sapphire, after ordering their lunch they sat and chatted about various topics with Rose interrupting intermittently with things she wished to share with the group whilst they ate, Michel came to stand beside the table after they had eaten and frowned at Sapphire,

"Your break is over, please go back to work" he remarked at the girl,

"Michel" Lorelai was shocked at his rudeness and tone, "Sapphire was invited for lunch by me HER BOSS and I would like her to stay if you don't mind"

"She has tasks to complete" Michel shrugged, unhappy at being undermined,

"Sapphire, have rooms 12, 9, 7, and 4 been cleaned, they were they ones checked out this morning?" she asked politely,

"Erm yes, I did 12 and 9 and Marta did 7 and 4, I hmmm had just finished room 9 when you invited me to lunch" she said quietly, aware that Lorelai was her boss overall, but Michel was in charge of the cleaning staff,

"Michel who is in charge of room replenishment and housekeeping for the rooms still occupied today?" Lorelai asked,

"Julia and Matthew" Michel replied snootily,

"Well after lunch Sapphire can assist, but as of yet Lunch isn't over, she still has 23 minutes I believe" Lorelai smirked as she looked at her watch, Michel stamped his foot and stormed off and Lorelai turned back to the table, Sapphire sighed hoping that Michel wasn't going to make her pay for this.

After lunch Lorelai took Rose into the kitchen for some ice cream after Finn was very unsubtle about wanting to talk to Sapphire alone.

"Blue, you know you are the most beautiful girl I have ever met in my life and I was wondering if we could go on a date sometime" Finn rushed the end of the sentence, and it took Sapphire a minute to untangle what he had said,

"I would love to, call me and we can arrange something" she smiled, Finn kissed her hand and headed for the kitchen with a grin on his face, she turned and got back to work, the perpetual scowl on Michel's face was unable to wipe the smile off of her's all day.
