Weiss was worried.
She and Ruby were on their way back to the dorm. Weiss quickly noticed a distinct lack of black and yellow at the airship docks. Weiss also noticed that Ruby was carrying her toiletries back to the dorm. Weiss could see in Ruby's stance and eyes that she was nervous. What was Ruby so nervous about?
'Wait, did she find out I was a vampire?' Weiss asked herself. It was always a grim possibility in her mind. She was afraid that one day, her friends and classmates would find out that she was a blood-sucking monster of the night. She hated that word.'
Ruby, on the other hand, was thinking about something that was less than poetic.
'Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh. I am going to talk to Weiss. What do I say? How do I say it?' Ruby's mind said as it was ran faster than Nora on a sugar high, which was an achievement.
When arrived back at the dorm, Weiss was expecting for Blake and Yang to be there. She was shocked to find out that they were not. 'Where are those two? And why is it just Ruby?' Weiss thought to herself.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when she saw Ruby unpacking her bags for her. Of course, all of her things were not put back in their proper place; rather they were just dropped on the bed.
"Ruby Rose! What in the name of Grimm are you doing?!"
"I...I just thought you would appreciate me unpacking for you. I mean…you must be tried." Ruby replied, stuttering as she did.
'Dolt.'
After Weiss spent five minutes putting everything back where it belonged, she turned her attention to Ruby, who was standing five feet behind her. Weiss, while she was unpacking, would occasionally look over her shoulder and find Ruby looking at her, only to immediately look away. Ruby looked very nervous at this point.
"Ruby, where's Blake and Yang?"
"Oh, they're at dinner." Ruby replied.
"Well then, let's go see them." Weiss said as she made her way to the door. However, before she could open it, Ruby immediately got in front of her.
"Ruby, what gives and what has gotten into you?"
"Weiss, I want to talk to you alone and in private."
"That still does not answer my question. You have been acting all nervous around me, like I'm a bomb, so what gives?!" Weiss snapped.
Ruby then walked into the middle of the room, facing the window.
"Hey Weiss, do you know what it's like to love someone?"
Weiss tilted her head in slight confusion. She honestly thought that Ruby was going to ask if Weiss was a vampire. "What's this all about Ruby?"
"Ever since we became a team, I started to have these weird feelings. I thought I was simply being nervous when I was a leader, but it's more than that."
At this point, Weiss was really confused. What was this dolt saying?
"However, I got these feelings whenever I was around you."
'Wait, is she going somewhere with this.' Weiss thought. Now Ruby was not making sense at all.
"I would get butterflies in the pit of my stomach and I would feel my heart beating quickly. I now know what it means."
"Ruby what do you mean?"
"Weiss…I love you."
The two stood in silence for what seemed like an eternity, but it was really a minute. Weiss just stood there, attempting to process what she heard, while Ruby's face was turning as red as her cape.
"Wait…you mean love like a sister?"
"No, no, no, no and no! I truly love you Weiss. Like how Jaune and Pyrrha love each other."
Weiss stood there, processing this new information. Ruby was in love with her, as in how couples love.
"And there is something I want to get off my chest." Ruby said as she began to walk over to her partner.
"Ruby…I." Weiss had no time to finish the thought as she felt a pair of lips touch hers.
Ruby was kissing her! That dolt was kissing her! Weiss wanted to push Ruby off and scold the girl for such behavior, yet she could not bring herself to do it. After a good five seconds, Ruby pushed herself off of Weiss.
"I…I…" Ruby stuttered before opening the door and taking off down the hall. Weiss stood there for a good minute, trying to process what just happened. Weiss moved her hand up to her lips, which, like her skin, were cold to the touch. Weiss then decided to go the mess hall.
The rest of the evening was rather quiet. Weiss had no appetite after the little fiasco she had with the team leader. When she walked into the mess hall, Blake, Yang and everyone else greeted her back, except for Ruby, who sat there with her hood pulled over her head. Weiss was expecting Ruby to join in the dinnertime conversations, but the girl in red stayed to herself, perfectly quiet.
"Hey, ice queen. You okay?" Yang asked the white haired girl.
"Wha…yeah I'm fine." Weiss said as all four of them prepared for bed.
Meanwhile
A man stood outside the outskirts of Vale, right near Forever Falls, where he had been camping. He wandered through the city today, in search of appropriate prey. He looked up at the sky, seeing the full moon coming out from behind the clouds. The man breathed the night air and felt a sudden rush course through his body. When he opened his eyes, they were blood red.
"Beware, citizens of Vale. The Alpha stalks again." He said, his change imamate.
Back at Beacon
Weiss could not sleep. The kiss Ruby gave her early that evening was keeping her wide awake. She wanted to go find Ruby and scold her for it. Yet, a part of her liked the kiss.
'Why would I love that dolt? She is reckless and impatience and…' Weiss could not find the final reason.
A few months ago, she would have said something less than flattering about her partner and leader. How could a fifteen year old girl such as Ruby sneak her way into one of the most premier combat schools in all of Remnant? Was it her eyes? Her weapon? Weiss nearly drove herself crazy with all of these questions. Yet, she could never find any true reason to hate her. Ruby was…just plain adorable. She seemed innocent in everything she did and she had those big puppy dog eyes. And her partnership with her was getting better.
Weiss needed to find Ruby. When she peeked up to see Ruby, she was not in her bed. Where was she? Weiss threw on her combat gear and grabbed her weapon. In the dark, she saw something else. In Blake's bed, slept the bed's owner and Yang. Yang's arms were wrapped around Blake's waist.
Weiss groaned internally. Now Blake and Yang were a couple. She quietly opened and closed the door without them hearing or interrupting their sleep.
Weiss found Ruby at the statue in the courtyard. Ruby was dressed in her combat gear, with Crescent Rose strapped to her belt.
"Ruby?"
The aforementioned girl turned quickly. Her face quickly turned red.
"Weiss!"
Weiss approached, thinking about what she was going to say. She thought about her relation with Ruby as teammates and had to think.
'Are we truly a thing? What would father think?' Weiss thought as she neared Ruby.
"About earlier…" Ruby began to say.
"Ruby, its fine.
"It is?"
"Just tell me one thing"
Ruby waited for what Weiss was going to say.
"Did you mean every word?"
"Yes, I meant it Weiss. Everything I said was true. I am deeply and madly in love with you."
Weiss thought about what she was going to say to her.
"Ruby I…"
Weiss had no time to finish the thought, as a deep and piercing howl rang through the night sky. Weiss quickly turned over to Ruby as she was pulling out Crescent Rose.
"Should we go get the others?"
"It's probably just a lone Beowolf, we can take him together and be back and Beacon before anyone notices we're gone. Ruby said as she took off.
The whole matter of Ruby kissing her and saying she loved her would have to wait. Innocent lives were now at risk.
Little did the two of them know, they would be out of their depth.
A/N: Well guys, sorry about the wait. I have been trying update this story whenever I can, but I just could not find the time. I am apologizing right now if the relationships in the story seem a little rushed. I promise to flesh them out in future chapters.
In other news, RWBY volume three was recently confirmed to be in the works and will come at sometime this year. It's good to know Monty's work will continue in his name.

Have an Awesome day.
