Ruby had to calm Weiss down.
Weiss looked like she was about ready to strangle the other two teammates. But just as Weiss was ready to yell, it looked as if she restrained herself from doing so, primarily because Ruby was there.
"This is not over, Xiao Long."
"Empty threats, Schnee. Empty threats."
Ruby was surprised by the fact the Team JNPR wasn't there. Blake explained that because Ruby was getting out of the hospital this evening, Team JNPR decided to make dinner for Ruby and the team when they get back to Beacon.
"Let me guess, pancakes?" Ruby questioned.
Both the blonde and black-haired girls nodded their heads, knowing that no doubt Nora had a hand in deciding the menu for tonight's dinner. For the next few minutes, the four of them sat around and just talked. Ruby was tired but it did not matter. She needed the company. It was Weiss that kept her awake by holding her hand. Of course, whenever she did, both of them would begin to blush, which Yang noticed.
"Soooo…You and Weiss huh?" Yang questioned. "You told me that you would say something to her but I did not expect to see you kiss."
"Wait..." The heiress looked over at the blonde. "You knew?!"
"Yup." Yang simply said, saying it rather nonchalantly.
"Weiss, I told her that I was interested in you when you were off training with that huntsman guy."
"By the way, who is this huntsman you've been training with?" Blake questioned.
Ruby swore that for the briefest moment, panic flared in Weiss' face. She looked rather worried. But why? Why would Weiss have to be worried?
"He's…uhh…" Weiss stuttered for a moment. "He's a huntsman sent by my father from Atlas."
All of them nodded their heads in agreement. There was something in that sentence that seemed truthful. Ruby noticed that her voice changed to a more beautiful tone when she said the sentence. Also, when they nodded, it looked as if a large weight was lifted off of Weiss' shoulders.
"Sooo…when do you think we can go on our first date?" Ruby asked her.
Weiss looked down right flabbergasted.
"N...not yet, you dunce. You're getting out of the hospital and your question is to when we can go on a date?"
"I'm sorry." Ruby turned away, dejected.
"Weiss, go easy on her. Both me and Yang went on a date not too long ago. We can tell you great places in the city for you and Ruby to go to." Blake told her.
"Alright, maybe by the end of next week."
"Yay! Thanks Weiss!" Ruby reached over and gave Weiss a hug. Ruby was thankful that Weiss hugged back.
A day later, it came time to remove Ruby's bandages and saw how her injury healed up. Everyone was anxious to see if her aura had kicked in and healed her injuries. However, Ruby was less than thrilled.
"Will it hurt?" Ruby asked the nurse.
"Don't worry Miss Rose, I will try to remove the bandages as best as I can. I can't guarantee that it will be painless.
It was then Ruby felt two different hands in both her left and right. Yang was holding her left hand and Weiss was holding her right. Blake simply opted to stand off to the side and simile. She could always depend on her team to be there for her.
"Are you ready?" asked the nurse.
Ruby simply nodded.
She then felt a slight stinging pain when the nurse started to remove the bandages. It did not hurt too badly, but it still caused Ruby to clench her teeth, causing Weiss and Yang to clutch her hands more. When the bandages were removed, everyone looked over to see…
…That Ruby's shoulder had completely healed. There were no stitches or any sort. All that remained of the encounter was a long, pale scar.
"Congratulations Miss Rose, you have made a fully and speedy recovery." The nurse said, rather reluctantly, she honestly expected the injury to still be there.
Both Blake and Yang started clapping while Weiss gave Ruby a quick peck on the cheek. Ruby of course simply blushed.
The night from that point on was simply a blur. Before they left, Ruby was given some pain medication for when her injury decided to flare up again. After they dropped some things off back at the dorm, they went to the room adjacent to theirs to go to JNPR's dorm. Everyone was so happy that Ruby made a quick recovery. But eventually, everyone realized that combat class was in the morning and went to bed. Ruby and Weiss slept in the same bed that night…
The Next day…
"The winner of this match is Cardin Winchester." Glynda announced to the class. Ruby sat there, not happy that the match ended well for Cardin's opponent. His sparring partner was a Faunus and the bully showed no mercy on his foe. Ruby was almost convinced that Cardin was cheating. She watched with sadness as the Faunus limped away and looked at Cardin with fury.
"Is there anyone else how would like to spar against Mister Winchester?" The teacher asked.
For an entire minute, no one raised their hand, not even Pyrrha, a girl who only weeks ago, wiped the floor with Cardin's entire team. However, soon they got their volunteer.
"I will." Ruby said.
Ruby watched as Glynda had a face of mild indifference while Cardin looked at Ruby with a rather smug expression.
"Miss Rose, need I remind you that you were recently involved in an accident. I do not think you would be able to stand up to Cardin in your current state."
"It's fine." Ruby replied.
"Yeah, it's fine professor. I'll go easy on her." Cardin looked up, giving off a rather sinister smile."
"Very well. Ruby Rose, please proceed down to the combat arena."
Just as Ruby got up, Weiss grabbed a hold of her arm.
"Ruby, are you going to be okay?"
"I will be when I wipe the floor with Cardin."
Weiss simply turned back towards the others as Ruby grabbed Crescent Rose and went down the arena to face her waiting opponent.
