"Mmm...ah..." Cassandra groaned softly and batted the rays of sunlight that were coming through the window shades. She covered her eyes with the blanket and tried to go back to sleep, but her pounding head was endlessly nagging her. Yanking the blanket off her head, she slowly opened her eyes to reveal a familiar, yet unfamiliar setting. She sat herself up and blinked a few times, but she was still in Elena's dorm room. Sliding herself off the bed, she then realized that she didn't have shoes on. She only knew this because of the sensation of her feet touching the soft rug since she could hardly see over her pregnant belly which was covered in a...bloodied hospital gown?
Cassandra ran to a floor length mirror that was in a corner of the room and was horrified by her appearance. Her curly hair was messy and unkempt, the hospital gown she wore was wrinkled and matted with blood, and some blood was around her lips. What the hell did she do last night? Was she attacked? Did someone get hurt? She smoothed down her hair to try and smooth her nerves, but she grew more frantic by the second. The last thing she remembered was...was...
"Hey, you're awake," Stefan's voice made her jump out of her skin and she turned herself to face him.
"Stefan...how did—I mean, what..." She stammered anxiously as she made her way over to the doorway where he was standing. "What the hell happened?"
"Well, to make it totally easy, Katherine stabbed you with a syringe that contained Wes' ripper virus. We took you to the hospital to get you checked out and you lost control." He told her. "That would explain why you're covered in blood."
Cassandra looked down at the gown again and flaked off some of the dried blood. "Did I?"
Stefan nodded, a frown painting his lips. "Yeah, she's dead."
"Damn..." She palmed her face and rubbed her eyes of sleep. "So, what happens now?"
"We have to keep you in quarantine until we can find a cure."
"So, let me get this straight." Cassandra pressed her fingers into her temples in an attempt to ease the throbbing sensation in her head. "You took me to a school that is crawling with young college students and sealed me in here until you find a way to reverse this ripper virus?"
Stefan's lips pursed and he shifted his weight on his feet. "Well, that's somewhat true. See, its Spring Break." He paused to gesture to the empty hallways and lounge area. "No one is here."
"And what if this quest you're on takes longer than a week? You know what will happen to me."
"That's why we have to get started now."
"Great." She spat sarcastically and tried to move out of the room, but she was bounced back when she went too far. She could walk in the hallway outside the room, but that was it. "Barrier spell. Nice touch."
"Yeah, it's kind of necessary." Stefan replied and Cassandra knocked her knuckles against the invisible wall.
"Hmm, where'd you get a witch to do this?"
"Liv."
"Liv?" Her eyebrows creased. "Ah, the witch."
"Yeah, she is one of Elena's classmates. Look, you and Damon have to be kept under a close watch; I don't want to do it, but it has to be done." He said.
Cassandra pursed her lips and crossed her arms over her chest, but was quickly reminded that she had a hospital gown on. "Uhm, this is gonna sound awkward, but can you get me some clothes?"
"Borrow some of Elena's," Stefan nodded towards the closet that was in the dorm room.
Her eyes grew wide before sharpening into a glare. "Stefan, have you seen me? I'm almost six months pregnant and you want me to fit into Elena's clothes?"
"Just for the time being until we can sort things out." He tried to reason with her, but she huffed loudly and rifled through the drawers in Elena's room. She yanked out a pair of jeans and waved them at Stefan.
"You see these? This pair of jeans is a size 2 and will not be able to fit past my knees," she spoke vehemently. "I don't think Elena would want me to rip her $100 pair of Guess jeans."
"Alright, alright." The green eyed vampire held his hands up. Perhaps telling a pregnant woman to squeeze into a pair of designer jeans wasn't the best angle. "I'll get you some clothes. Just sit tight, okay?"
"Fine." Cassandra tossed the pair of jeans over her shoulder and onto the floor. "And while you're out, mind finding me something to eat?"
"We'll ration your blood just like we are doing with Damon."
"No, I mean, food. Preferably something on the healthy side." She patted her stomach. "Baby girl is hungry."
Stefan then found himself wishing he was babysitting Damon rather than his hormonally pregnant sister-in-law.
"Damon's phone?" Jeremy Gilbert chirped happily into the speaker. He and Matt were put in charge of watching Damon this morning as per Stefan's instructions. Naturally, Damon wasn't too happy with the idea of the Hardy Boys watching him, but they were better than Tyler. Hell, anyone else was better than Tyler. He'd even prefer Caroline to Tyler.
"Jeremy? Hi!" Cassandra greeted.
"How are you feeling?" He asked her while looking down at Damon who was straining against his chains.
"I'm okay, I guess," she replied unsurely. "How is Elena?"
"She's doing okay. A little confused, but she'll be alright."
"I killed you once before, Gilbert. I'll kill you again." Damon hissed angrily and Jeremy heard Cassandra chuckle a bit on the other line.
"He sounds like he is in a lovely mood." She remarked. "Mind putting him on?"
Jeremy moved the phone away from his ear and handed it to Damon who took it like his life depended on it. The two teens decided it would be best to leave, giving Damon and Cassandra some privacy while they spoke. They exited the cell quietly and were sure to lock the door behind them before heading up the stairs.
"Hey you." Damon grinned when the boys left.
"Hey you." She countered.
"So, eaten anyone yet?"
"Nope. So far, I am symptom free. Just the normal cravings. I'm having Stefan run around and bring me food." The thought of his brother traipsing all over a college campus made Damon laugh. She did feel a lot better after having some food that Stefan had brought her, hopefully that would curb her blood cravings. "And my blood intake is being rationed just in case."
"Yeah, it sucks. You're going to be craving carbs constantly." He scooted himself back to sit against the wall, getting himself comfortable.
"Great." She grumbled and pulled her zip-up sweatshirt tighter around her. Stefan was able to find her a pair of leggings, a tank top and a sweatshirt that were big enough to accompany her belly. "Oh, by the way, I'm calling you from a payphone."
"Well, how retro of you!" He smirked. "Does that mean you memorized my phone number?"
"Hey, my phone magically disappeared, so I've gotta improvise." She toyed with the cord, winding it around her finger.
"You didn't answer my question." She could practically hear him grinning through the phone.
"Okay, maybe I did memorize your phone number." She bit her bottom lip coyly, making her husband hum in approval. Cassandra then leaned her head back against the wall and sighed loudly. "Man, this sucks." Cassandra whined and rubbed her stomach.
"I know it does, but at least you're in a room with a bed and a window. I'm in a cell all chained up." Damon pursed his lips.
"Hmm, that's very 'Fifty Shades' of Stefan." She hummed and smirked slightly. "Maybe he caught on that you liked to be tied up."
The vampire chuckled to himself and took a split second to appreciate his wild sex life with his wife. Sure, because she was pregnant, all she wanted to do was sleep, but that didn't mean that he couldn't reminisce about it. "Listen, I like being tied up as much as the next guy, but so do you."
"I know." Her smirk grew wider and she giggled quietly. The next few moments of silence that entered the conversation were comforting to them, but they wished that those moments could have been shared together rather than over the phone. They hated being too far from one another and it was even worse that they were forced to be kept separate from each other. Perhaps it was for the best since they could kill each other and not even think twice about it.
"Promise me something?" His voice sounded so small to her.
"Anything." She didn't hesitate.
"That even with this ripper virus thing, that we'll still fight for each other."
"We've been fighting for each other all this time, right? What's another couple hundred years?" She joked. "I'll always fight for you, Damon."
"Oh, Cass, the second we cure this and don't wanna rip each other's head off..." He trailed off and she leaned in closer to the phone.
"Yes?"
"I'm gonna hunt you down and give you the most mind blowing night of your life."
Cassandra bit her bottom lip, stifling a girly giggle at the very thought of her husband giving her a night she wouldn't forget. "Well, I think I can pencil you in."
Damon grinned wryly and flicked a pebble he found on the floor to the other side of the room. "So, what are you wearing?"
"Damon!" She scolded him.
"What?"
"I am not going to have phone sex with you."
"Why not?" He whined. "Come on, we're both alone and you know as much as I do that we both need it."
"Because I'd much rather have the real thing." She purred and her husband's ear perked up at that.
"So, I take it you have an availability tonight?"
"Only for you." His heart swelled with pride. "Oh, Stefan just got back with a new phone, so I'll call you right back."
"Got it."
"Bye."
Cassandra stood up, hung up the phone and met Stefan by the invisible barrier that Liv had put up. He tossed her the phone which she caught gracefully and slipped it into her pocket. "Thanks, Stef."
"How are you feeling?" He asked her.
"A little queasy and weak," she replied. When she was on the phone with Damon, she wasn't worried about her ripper virus symptoms, but now they seemed to hit her like an eighteen wheeler truck.
"That's because you're starving." The vampire replied and placed a small bottle of blood on the floor. He rolled it to Cassandra and she immediately scooped it up, draining the liquid inside. It felt so good to drink, but Cassandra's thirst was hardly quenched with only four ounces of blood.
"I need more." She clutched the bottle tightly in her fist.
Stefan shook his head. "No, you've had enough."
"Oh, come on. I'm eating for two people, so I should have eight ounces."
"Nice try. Vampirism is not a gene, so your daughter is not a vampire." He crossed his arms over his chest. "I can't give you anymore blood."
"I'm hungry." She growled low, throwing the empty bottle aside angrily. "Give me more."
"You can't handle more blood, Cassandra. It will only make your symptoms worse," he said.
"I can control it."
"Really?" He challenged and she didn't budge. Deciding to test her, he rolled up his sleeve and made a long cut down his arm with his fangs. Blood seeped from the wound and Cassandra immediately leapt forward to tackle him, but the barrier pushed her backwards. Veins spread beneath her eyes and she snarled at the vampire, showing her own fangs.
"That's great control," he remarked sarcastically as he pulled his sleeve down over his healing arm. Cassandra then snapped from her trance, realizing her reaction to the blood and she shook her head.
"No, no, no. This...this is exactly what she wanted." She panted and paced back and forth. "She wanted to ruin my life and she got it."
"Cassandra, you have to calm down."
"I am calm!" She yelled at him. "God dammit! She couldn't just die, could she? No! She had to wreck everything like she always does."
"Look, I know that you're upset—"
"Upset is the understatement of the year. Stefan, what the hell is gonna happen to me?" She stopped her pacing and was now looking at her brother-in-law who looked just hopeless as she did. "I can't...I can't live like this. What if this virus hurts my baby? Or what if it makes me hurt her?"
Stefan didn't get a chance to reply since his phone blared loudly from his pocket. He eyed the caller ID before murmuring, "It's Caroline."
"Please tell me that she has some good news." Cassandra pleaded and Stefan answered the phone.
"Bad news," Caroline said.
"Oh, dear God." Cassandra groaned.
"Damon's virus and Cassandra's virus are not the same."
"What is it?" Stefan asked.
"Dr. Creepenstein was working on the next phase of the virus. When Nadia was sick, he was experimenting on her blood and he figured out a way to extract werewolf venom from her blood and put it in the virus." She explained.
"Wait, what do you mean 'werewolf venom?'" His eyes were wide now.
Cassandra was now pacing nervously once again and her anxiety was rising higher and higher. "Oh my god."
"Because Cassandra is a hybrid, she won't be affected by the venom in the way a normal vampire would." The blonde vampire said. "But...it will accelerate the effects of the ripper virus."
"Uhm, if this is supposed to make me feel better, it is not working whatsoever." The hybrid grumbled.
"Help us out here, Caroline." Stefan begged, hoping that she had found something that would shed some optimism on this otherwise dismal situation.
"Hello! You don't think I would just drop this on you without a silver lining! There's an antidote. It just requires you to come meet me. I'll text you the address."
Both Stefan and Cassandra let out sighs of relief. Cassandra leaned herself against the wall while Stefan went back to talking with Caroline. "Or you could just bring it over here."
"No. You have to go there. And don't ask me why, because I can't tell you." She said and Cassandra raised her eyebrows.
"Caroline, seriously? You have two rippers who can only be held back for so long." She growled. "We don't have time to dick around."
Stefan turned himself from Cassandra so that he could try to talk Caroline into bringing the antidote to him. "This doesn't make any sense. Just tell me exactly—"
"If I could tell you, don't you think I'd be there right now to help Cassandra? I'll text you the address." Clearly Caroline wasn't budging, but that didn't mean that Stefan would stop trying.
"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what is going on." His tone was unyielding and it took a few seconds, but Caroline gave a long huff.
"The Travelers don't want anyone to know what they're up to, and by "anyone," I mean "newbie, emo, witch" types with bad attitudes. Just get there fast, okay?" With that, she hung up, leaving Stefan with a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach, but at least there was hope of a cure in sight.
"I'll see you later." The green eyed vampire spoke. "Just, uh, don't go anywhere."
Cassandra rolled her brown eyes and scoffed. "Shame. I was planning on going out dancing." While he knew that she wasn't in the joking mood, Stefan threw her a smirk and started to make his way down the hall, but her voice stopped him. "Hey, Stef?"
He stopped mid-step and turned to look at her. "Yeah?"
"Look, I know that I haven't been the easiest to deal with and I know that this is hard on all of us, especially you because Damon is infected too." She wrung her hands in front of her, a nervous look painting her features. "I just...thank you."
"No! Stop!" Cassandra wailed loudly and thrashed about on a cold metal table while men and woman in white lab coats and masks over their mouths moved around her. Cuffs on her wrists and ankles held her kept her pinned to the table and no matter how hard Cassandra rattled them, they refused to budge. She adorned a hospital gown and one of the men positioned her legs so they were bent at the knees and spread apart. She tried to fight him off, but her legs were held in their position with heavy chains which dug harshly into her skin. Her body was spent and a sheen of sweat coated her body. She fought for what seemed like days, but she hadn't managed to free herself.
One of the men came over with a sharp scalpel in hand, the blade shining under the dim lights and he lifted Cassandra's gown to sit around her hips. The door at the other end of the room swung open, revealing Dr. Wes Maxfield and he strode into the room with an evil grin on his lips. Cassandra struggled harder, but his helpers held her down, pressing her into the table. He slid white gloves onto his hands, enjoying watching Cassandra wince each time the gloves snapped against his skin and he looked to his assistant who was waiting with the scalpel. Had she been kidnapped by Wes again? Was Damon in captivity too?
"Don't do this," thehybrid begged desperately, hot tears streaming down her reddened cheeks. "Please, let me go."
"I'm afraid I can't do that." Wes shook his head while tying a mask around his mouth. "The time has come for humanity to see what your child can do for it."
Cassandra was ready to make more pleas, but the sharp sensation of her stomach being sliced open coaxed a scream from her lungs. She began fighting with Wes' assistants even more, doing anything to break free, but they held her down. Wes reached his hands inside her open stomach and the hybrid fought the urge to vomit feeling him move around inside her. During her struggle, she managed to get her mouth close to the arm of one of the assistants that was holding her down and without delay, she chomped down on the limb, severing his forearm and down from the rest of his arm. Blood gushed everywhere and Cassandra smirked triumphantly at his howls of pain, but another assistant quickly jumped into take over the job while the other was escorted out of the room.
"Sedate her." Wes' cold voice was the last thing she heard before being stuck with a long needle and injected with a substance that immediately numbed her entire body. Her limbs grew heavy and her mind was a hazy mess as Wes continued to move his hands around inside her. Her vision blurred and sounds became muffled, making it seem as if she was drowning underwater. Would this torture ever end?
It was the soft cry of a baby that made her focus herself and try to shake the sedative off, but it was much too powerful. Wes pulled the baby from her womb and Cassandra was panicked, yet joyous to see her little girl. She was moving about like a child does when they first come into the world and she was covered in blood and fluids from the messy birth. Wes murmured something to the assistant who had cut her open and he nodded before switching places with the one who had taken over for the other one. Wes handed the assistant, who was a woman the baby and she snipped the umbilical cord in one quick motion. The woman wrapped towels around the baby, swaddling her and Cassandra looked to Wes who hadn't even had the decency to close her up.
"Please, let me hold her. Even if it is only for a moment;I need to see her." Wes seemed to ignore her as he stripped off his gloves and mask, tossing them onto a tray with other medical tools. He jerked his head towards the door and he and all of the assistants left except for the one holding Cassandra's baby. The woman reached one hand back behind her head to yank her mouth mask free and Cassandra stared up in horror.
"K-Katherine?"
"You know, you and Damon make beautiful babies." She smirked and ran her index finger over the baby's cheek.
"Don't touch her!" Cassandra hissed, leaning up as far as the chains would allow.
"It's a shame that you'll never see her again."
"Katherine, please give her to me. I'm her mother. I deserve to hold her one last time." She was crying again and holding out her arms.
"I didn't even get to hold or see my Nadia when she was born. She was ripped out of me and thrust into someone else's arms." She snapped and coddled Cassandra's child close to her chest. "You will feel the same guilt as I did for the rest of eternity."
"No! No, Katherine!" She cried hysterically and yanked at her restraints. Katherine cooed to the baby and turned on her heel, leaving Cassandra in the dark room, her screams music to her ears.
"NO!" A cold sweat slicked Cassandra's forehead as she bolted upright in bed. Her brown eyes wildly searched the room and was given some comfort seeing that she was back in Elena's dorm room and not Dr. Maxfield's horror lab. She let out a long sigh, trying to calm her heart rate down and she palmed her face with her hand. Taking a couple of deep breaths made her feel somewhat better, but she felt something warm and wet coming from her nostril. She ran out of bed and stood in front of Elena's full length mirror to see a thin trail of blood leaking from her left nostril. Grabbing a towel from the dresser, she wiped it away and realized that her hands were shaking too. Her throat felt dry and her breathing was beginning to get deeper.
"What...what the hell is happening to me?" She asked her panicked reflection, but she received her answer upon seeing her fangs grow from her gums.
She was hungry.
Heavy footsteps from the hallway made her rush out of her room and she was ready to berate Stefan for taking so long, but she frowned upon seeing a young man with a duffle bag resting on his shoulder. Their eyes met and the boy raised his eyebrows at her.
"Uhm, hi?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm Luke. I'm a friend of Elena's." He introduced himself. "Wait, I know you. You're Elena's friend Cassandra, right?" The pregnant hybrid nodded warily and bit back a strong pang of hunger. "Congrats on the baby."
"Thanks." She shifted uneasily on her feet. Luke caught onto the fact that something was eating her and he moved forward a bit.
"Are you alright? You don't look so good."
"I'm not okay, Luke," she said. "I need you to do something for me."
His eyes lit up at the idea that he could do something to help. "Yeah, sure."
With Luke close enough, she gripped his shoulders and stared deeply into his eyes. "Go find Bonnie Bennet and tell her to come here and bring the witch. I need to get out of here right now. Go!" She shoved him back and he took off running from the school.
"I feel like I'm going crazy." Cassandra's frantic voice made Damon's heart drop as she spoke to him. "I'm hearing things. I'm seeing things. I'm getting worse by the minute."
"Listen to me, you have to-"
"Calm down. I know." She finished for him as she continued to pace in Elena's room. "God, when the hell is Stefan coming back? Damon, I swear if I see a college kid, I'm turning him and draining him."
"I keep saying that about Matt Donovan." He joked. "Stefan is coming back soon. Just stay on the phone with me."
"I'm trying. I'm trying." She hissed. "You try having nightmares of Dr. Maxfield cutting you open, ripping your kid out of your womb and Katherine taking her away."
"Cass, they're both dead." He tried to tell her.
"But to me, in those nightmares, they were very real." She told him. "EverytimeI close my eyes, I see them. I just...ARGH!" Her scream was the last thing Damon heard before a busy signal was ringing in his ear and he immediately grew panicked. With Cassandra in this condition, there was no telling what she would do or who she would hurt. He had to get out of the cell and get to Cassandra before it was too late.
"Donovan! Get your ass in here." He shouted and the quarterback unlocked the cellar door.
"Chill! I'm right here! What?" He crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"My phone's dead. Charge it for me." He commanded.
Matt smirked. "What? Too much sexting with Cassandra?"
"How about you never say that again?" He growled and laid his phone on the ground for Matt to take and when he did, the vampire attacked. He grabbed Matt, ripped the Gilbert ring off his finger and placed him in a tight chokehold.
"Jeremy!" Matt called and the teen came running in.
"Woah! What the hell?" He yelled.
"I need to see my wife. Undo my chains, or I'll kill him." Damon threatened.
Jeremy moved forward a bit, but Damon moved him and Matt backwards. "I can't! You'll kill her.
"She's going to hurt herself, Jeremy. She's totally unraveling," he growled.
"Don't do it, Jeremy." Matt told his friend.
"Stop being an idiot, Jeremy." Damon choked Matt harder, making him wince and Jeremy seemed to shrink away from the vampire. "Trust me. She needs me. I would never hurt her."
The moon hung low in the night sky as Cassandra wandered aloofly down the walkways within the college campus. She nervously chewed on her fingernail, her eyes shifting all around her and she was practically jumping at the smallest sound or movement near her. Bonnie and Liv had come for her just like she had compelled Luke to do and she was able to finally escape her prison. Well, she wouldn't exactly call it escaping since it was more like bargaining with Bonnie. The Anchor and the hybrid were arguing about having Liv lift the spell, so Cassandra took a piece of wood from the door frame and launched it right into Liv's stomach. With a fatal wound like that, it would have only been a matter of time until Liv bled out, so Cassandra offered a charming ultimatum.
"Break the seal and Liv gets to live another day. Don't and we can bury her along with Aaron Whitmore and Dr. Maxfield."
Her threat chilled Bonnie to the core and Liv broke the seal on the room. Staying true to her word, Cassandra fed the young witch some of her blood, but before anyone could speak another word, she vanished in a gust of wind. The virus was progressively getting worse which would explain her impulsiveness with Liv, but her hallucinations were haunting her more and more. She hoped a quiet walk would calm her nerves, but she was much too sick and worked up to settle her thoughts.
The campus really was dead just like Stefan said and she scoffed to herself at the very thought of her vampire brother-in-law who she still had not heard from.
"Stupid vampire. He said he'd be back." She mumbled incoherently to herself as she continued to walk aimlessly around the campus. A rustling from a nearby bus made her gasp out and speed away only to lean against the bark of a tree. Thinking she'd run away from a potential threat, Cassandra vacated her hiding spot only to be face to face with none other than Katherine Pierce.
"Bad day?" The vampire grinned and Cassandra backed away with her hands raised.
"You stay away from me!" She warned. "Just leave me alone!"
"Ooh, you don't look so hot, Cassie." Katherine mocked. "Maybe that virus is really taking its toll."
"You did this. This is all your fault." Cassandra tripped over a thick tree root and she fell flat on her ass as Katherine continued to advance on her.
"I told you that I was always one step ahead. Even now that I'm dead, I won."
"No! No, you'll never win!" She hissed through her teeth.
"Just face it. You're gonna get worse and worse until your friends have to kill you in order to stop you." The vampire was crouched down in front of her now.
Cassandra's fangs descended and her hunger tugged at her throat. "Stop it."
"I mean, Stefan hasn't come back with your cure and you're out in the open now." She smirked. "It's only a matter of time before you murder a vampire or turn a human to then kill them when they are a vampire."
"Stop!"
"Just admit it." She leaned in close, her lips at her ear. "I. Won."
"Never!" Cassandra shoved Katherine away and sped off through the campus, but she didn't get too far after crashing into something hard. Looking up, she saw that Damon had stopped her from running. She moved to rush off again, but he held her wrists tightly.
"Boy, you're a sight for sore eyes." He remarked as his wife tried to wrestle herself from his hold.
"Damon, please let me go; I could hurt you," she whimpered, turning her face away from his.
"Cassandra, I'm here to take you home." He spoke softly to her.
"Home? No, I...I can't go home." She shook her head and yanked her hands from his. "I could hurt them. I could hurt you."
"I know." He reached for her but she winced away.
"Damon, we could hurt each other. We could rip each other's heads off."
"I know." He said soothingly. "But I'll be brave if you be brave." Silence surrounded the pair and Cassandra eyed his outstretched hand warily. She wanted to be brave, but she was afraid of hurting him. Very cautiously and hesitantly, she brushed her fingertips against his before taking a hold of his hand. Damon gently pulled her closer and he wiped the tears that continued to fall from her cheeks.
"Katherine won, Damon." She sniffled and he hugged her to him.
"No," he said into her hair. "She does not get to win."
"But she already has."
"Stefan will get the antidote and we'll be cured."
"It's been hours and no one has heard from him." She shook her head.
"Well, I'd have to disagree on that." The couple turned around to see Enzo standing off in the distance, shrouded in shadows.
"What are you doing here?" Damon wondered and the vampire held up a small bottle in his hands, wiggling it and letting the liquid inside it swish around.
"I've got you antidotes." He grinned and Cassandra reached out to grab the bottle, but Enzo pulled it back.
"Give. Me. The. Bottle." Her eyes turned amber and she was growling in her chest.
"One moment, gorgeous." Enzo tossed the bottle to Damon who caught it while he reached around in his jacket pocket to pull out another bottle. "This one is yours."
Greedy hands snatched the bottle and gripped the cork with her teeth, yanking it out and spitting it onto the ground. Damon did the same and the two guzzled their respective antidotes down until there wasn't a single drop left. It took a few moments, but the overwhelming hunger and need to feed was dissipating until it had become a dull ache.
Finally this nightmare was over.
"Well, thank God that's over." Damon downed yet another glass of bourbon while his wife nursed her water. They both came home to turn in for the night, but they were enjoying each other's company so much that they didn't want to go to sleep just yet.
"Yeah, it feels nice to look at you and not want to rip your head off." She grinned.
"Likewise." Her husband clinked his glass against hers and she giggled playfully. "You know what? I think we should celebrate."
"What? We're already ripper free."
"Well, Katherine is dead and gone for good and so is Dr. Maxfield." He poured more amber liquid into his glass and refilled Cassandra's with water.
"Ah, yes. You told me that over the phone earlier. Tell me, how did the doctor meet his end?" She wondered.
"Let's just say that he won't be capturing and experimenting on vampires anymore." He smirked wryly.
"Played a game of doctor?" Cassandra pulled herself off the couch to place her glass down on a tray by the tall bookcases. She grasped a bottle of blood and poured some into her cup while Damon watched her with hungry eyes. Maybe it was being separated from her all day or the way the glowing fireplace created shadows over her body, but he wanted her more than anything. He finished his drink and waltzed to stand behind her, enjoying hearing her breath catch when his hard body pressed into hers.
"A game that I'd love to play with you." His voice in her ear made her weak at the knees and her fingers curled around her glass. His lips peppered little kisses along her earlobe and moved down the side of her neck, making her whimper softly. Her head leaned back against his shoulder, opening up the expanse of her neck to his greedy lips and his hands firmly grasped her hips.
"D-Damon, I think we've had a really crazy day..." She was stammering in his hold and Damon was loving every second of it. He continued to toy with her and make those delicious noises come out of her mouth. "And...and I think we should—"
"Unwind? I completely agree." The vampire spun her around and kissed her hard. Cassandra wrapped her arms around his neck, threading her fingers in the hair at the nape and kissed him back. She was actually going to say that the two of them should go to bed, but he had coaxed her desires to come out and play with his. Damon's tongue worked over her bottom lip and the pair had unconsciously moved to be pressed against the bookcase. His hands groped at her body, squeezing and digging his nails into her clothes as they kissed passionately in front of the fireplace.
Breaking the kiss, the back of Cassandra's head hit the bookcase and she panted loudly as Damon went back to working her neck. Lust spiked through her veins and she was moaning loudly as her husband rubbed himself against her. Her eyes rolled back in their sockets and she clutched at his shoulder. Her skin felt so hot and her body was nearly going to burst if he continued to torture her like this. She'd never gotten this hot and bothered before, but she wasn't exactly complaining. During her pregnancy, the opportunity for sex was often missed, so perhaps it was the pent up sexual tension that was bubbling inside her. Her coil was wound so tight that all it took was a rough bite to her neck with Damon's blunt teeth to send her over the edge. Her body tensed up, back arching and a long, high-pitched moan left her lungs. She never orgasmed from just being stimulated by so little, but she remembered reading that pregnant women were very sensitive and could easily be aroused at the right moment due to raging hormones. Trembling like a leaf on a tree, her fingers fisted the material of his shirt and she tried to regain her composure when Damon peered up at her from the crook of her neck.
"Did...did you just...?" He panted, a curious, yet aroused look painting his features.
"I...uh, yeah..." She nodded and she saw the fire in Damon's eyes once more. He kissed her again, fisting his hands in her hair and Cassandra moaned loudly into his mouth.
"That was the sexiest thing I've ever seen," he purred against her lips and she tried to work at the buttons of his shirt, but she quickly became frustrated with them.
"God, take this off." She growled heatedly right before gripping the collar of his shirt and ripping it right down the middle. The fabric gave way and the very sound of it tearing made Cassandra smirk and Damon attacked her lips again.
In seconds they were zoomed upstairs and Cassandra was thrown face-up on their king sized bed. A spare moment was shared between the two, their eyes burning into one another's before their lips collided in a passionate kiss. Her hands slid over his broad shoulders, growling against his lips when she found that his shirt was still on his body, albeit barely hanging off him, but she was annoyed nonetheless. Damon leaned up and tore it off him, allowing his wife to rake her nails down the muscular planes of his chest. He growled low and took Cassandra's wrists tightly in his grip. He pinned them down to the mattress and when she struggled against him, he snapped his teeth at her. She copied him, partly to aggravate him and partly to show him that she wouldn't back down, but Damon didn't let up one bit. One hand then took both of her wrists while the other hand fisted the front of her shirt. He passed her a teasing glance as he yanked the material hard. It gave way and he tossed it to the floor with his shredded shirt. His eyes glazed over at her swollen breasts and his fangs ached to pierce the supple skin. Like he had done with her shirt, his hand gripped the middle of her red lacy bra and their eyes met.
Cassandra gritted her teeth and hissed at him. "Don't you—"
Snap!
Her now naked breasts were bared for his hungry eyes and he licked his lips at the thought of burying his face between them. He took a moment to take some teasing licks at her hot skin and he mumbled how her breasts looked good enough to nibble on. His tongue circled her distending nipples and she panted and squirmed beneath him. She rubbed her thighs together to try to get some friction, but Damon put an end to that when he immobilized her legs by pressing his own legs against hers. That earned a hiss from his wife, but her frustration only made him smirk wider into her skin.
"Bastard." She breathed.
"You love it." Damon's husky voice did things to her that would make anyone blush. His hands curled around the waistband of her pants and his blue eyes twinkled seductively. She did him the same favor, except one of her hands snuck between them to cradle his cock.
"This." She squeezed it, making Damon moan. "I want it inside me. Now."
"Patience, Cass." He teased and was quickly met with cool air engulfing his bottom half and his clothes being ripped off his body. She'd torn his jeans and underwear right off him.
"Patience is a virtue that I don't have right now." She spread her legs, cradling Damon's cock and she peered up at him. "I want it now."
Damon's black hair fell in front of his eyes and Cassandra's pants and panties were yanked down her legs and tossed aside. She was ready to protest again, but was quickly silenced when he slid himself inside her at a pace that was so slow; she felt each ridge of him pass her slick entrance. Damon's mouth hung open, unable to form words at the sensation of his cock being choked by her womanly lips as he pushed himself deep inside. He had to hold his body still for a few moments for fear that he might pop prematurely, but Cassandra wriggling and whining beneath him was making it hard to compose himself.
His hands held her wrists down and he began to fuck her into the mattress like his life depended on it. Their fingers intertwined, holding onto one another for dear life as they rocked into each other. His hard muscles brushed against her stomach and he leaned his lips by her ear, whispering how happy he was that both his girls were safe. Cassandra's heart swelled with warmth and she craned her head to kiss him gently. The past few weeks had been absolutely trying for them, so it felt nice to reconnect in an intimate way. Nothing beat how his kisses made her skin tingle or her made her mind go pleasantly numb.
The wooden bed frame creaked as Damon's thrusts quickened and the two were moaning and grunting as their orgasms drew near. Cassandra bit Damon's bottom lip, pulling it between hers and suckling the little bit of blood that trickled out and her husband groaned softly, letting her take as much as she wanted. Her walls contracted around him, making him smirk and thrust into her even more as the seconds ticked on. The headboard banged loudly against the wall, only adding to their passionate lovemaking and it made them chuckle at how much of a ruckus that they were making, but were much too enthralled with one another to care. Yeah, Stefan would complain about the noise they made the next morning, but they'd deal with that when the time came.
Their orgasms hit them suddenly and without warning. They called out each other's names into the night and they faintly heard something on the bed crack in the midst of their tryst. Sweat dripped down their bodies and their hair stuck to their skin. Damon licked a line from her collarbone, up her neck and kissed her lips and she was almost too lethargic to kiss him back. Untangling their fingers, Cassandra tangled her own in Damon's damp locks, kissing him slowly and lovingly. After some time, she broke the kiss and stared up at him with a smile on her lips. He was so handsome that just looking at him could make her grin like an idiot. She swore she'd be content to just admire his beauty for the rest of eternity. Damon trailed his index finger over her swollen lips, grinning widely and kissing her cheek. He then scooted down on the bed to kiss along her stomach and smiled against her belly. Cassandra could feel him talk to their daughter and she combed her hands through his hair as he did so. Their daughter kicked about and Damon rubbed his wife's belly.
"What do you think she's saying?" Damon wondered thoughtfully.
"She's saying, 'let mommy go to sleep.'" Cassandra yawned sleepily and Damon kissed her belly one last time before moving up to lie on the pillow beside her. She cuddled into his side and within seconds, they were both fast asleep.
Finally some smut for all of my smut lovers ;) Told you I wouldn't let you down! Both of these stories are coming to a close and I cannot thank all of my readers/reviewers for all of their love and support. You guys are so freakin' awesome! Keep the positivity coming - I live off of it! Please review :)
elisesellas: I love when that happens! It is such a nice surprise! And it is even better getting a review from you because you're simply awesome :) Yeah, Audrey had a tough time, but I think that is why her and Klaus click with one another. Elijah and Giuliana - I ship them so hard! I wish she was really a character in the show! I had an AWESOME Halloween (it is one of my favorite holidays). I am already counting down to Thanksgiving and Christmas too :) My ideas come from the crazy places in my mind LOL! I do try to make my stories as creative as I can and make my chapters as interesting to read as possible. I'm glad you're enjoying them! Thank you SO much for reviewing as always xoxo
ThisIsMeAndYou: I reeeeaaaalllyyy want to start writing season 6 of TVD and season 2 of TO! Hmm, that is an interesting theory if the baby gets stuck in 1994 with Damon and Bonnie. I know some things that are happening in season 6, I won't want for my story, but you'll have to wait and read the chapters ;) Thank you for reviewing!
Ain'tEasyBeingBreezy: I ship Audrey and Klaus too! I am not a fan of Genevieve either LOL! Thanks for reviewing!
Guest: You know, I heard that there will be a holiday episode in season 6, so I'd like to see how that episode pans out :) Great suggestion!
black hearted me: Hi there! I decided to put the two stories in the same story only because there were a lot of crossover rumors going around as far as TVD and TO merging. I wanted to play it safe and keep them both in the same story, but as soon as I tie up both stories, I will start them both in a new story and they will be on their own. Well, your explanation of the story was completely correct and there were no grey areas :) If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know! Thanks so much for reviewing!
NicoleR85: Thank you for reviewing, my dear :)
SomebodyWhoCares: LOL! Wasn't that funny? Poor Cami haha!
Guest: Well, it seems like everything worked out with Damon and Cassandra, but no one knows what the rest of the story holds - well, I do ;) Thanks for reviewing!
binks13: Isn't The Originals awesome! I don't know if you've kept up with season 2 of the show, but it is AMAZING! Thank you so much for reviewing as always! You rock!
Guest: Hmm, not too sure about a time skip, but I will have to take a look how the rest of the episodes play out as far as timing it. I honestly did not think about Cassandra's favorite animal or favorite color. That one I'd have to think about LOL! Thank you for reviewing!
Guest: Thanks so much, my dear! Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
Guest: Well, Cassandra is around 5-6 months pregnant, so she is getting close to her due date :) I am not sure about a time jump - I'll have to look at the episodes and how they line up. Thanks for reviewing!
Guest: Thank you for reviewing! Cassandra has brown curly hair :)
G: No offense taken. However, sometimes TVD and TO have a tendency to be a bit predictable too. Thanks for reviewing!
Leila: Hi there! Cassandra is around 5-6 months along in her pregnancy. She's getting close to her due date which is very exciting! Thank you for reviewing!
Guest: Thanks for reviewing! Wonderful question! Well, for TO, there might very well be some flashbacks coming, but for TVD - I am not sure about flashbacks. I might add some just because I love writing flashbacks :)
