I am so sorry for a long update time! Work life kinda takes up my time! Any hoo getting back into writing again so should be more up and coming. Love you all for your interest!
The drive into morganville was long to say the least! Nora slept most of the way after picking up some heavy pain killers at the pharmacy, 3 days drive both Rixon and Patch taking it in turns and finally they've pulled into the boarder.
Patch had already phoned ahead speaking to the founder and Clare herself, letting them know what had happened. After the anger, Clare calmed down and spoke to her sister, without a breathe said they had to come and live with her and Micheal. We had the address and where 20mins away.
'Pull over Rix, I've got to pee!' Complained Patch as they passed a busy park. All 3 of them clambered out of the car, Rix looking taller than ever with muscles on muscles, patch with his arm protective around the still black and blue Nora.
Nora winced as they stepped out into the mid morning Texas sunshine. 'So we made it without you to killing each other' she tried at a joke, remember the trouble they where causing at the state lines. Finding they're fake ids funny.
Patch kissed the side of her head, 'quick pee stop then we'll make our way to meet your sister'.
Nora sighed as she climbed back into the car, ribs still aching but managing to pull a smile on her face. Seeing her long lost sister for the first time is something she had always dreamed off but these circumstance wasn't how she pictured it.
Rixon drove off, their bladders emptied. Seeing morganville for the very first time was interesting, a small cafe situated on the corner of Lott Street where her sister lived, children happily playing in a park, people talking to one another as they passed in the street. It was so normal she thought, but she knows the secrets the vampires hiding in the shadows waiting for night fall. The though of vampires scared her but after speaking to Clare she assures her they're nothing to worry about that it's now a friendly place to live with everyone living in harmony.
She did however mention that she was one of these monsters but promised not to suck her blood while she slept. A little nervous but knowing her sister basically ran the town and she didn't sleep upside down or in a box helped her believe this could be her new home.
Clare had insisted they stay with her and her Fiancé Michael until they felt settled and found their own home. She said Rixon would have to have the basement room but the house wasn't as scary as she made out on the phone, she said and quote 'it's a big beautiful home, full of love but scary at first, I promise you'll be safe here.'
And she started to believe it as they pulled up to this beautiful house! The cream white wooden shutters each side of the Windows, the swinging chair on the front porch, rose bushes that lines the white fences surrounding the house. It was absolutely beautiful. It looked warm and homely and safe.
Patch helped Nora out of the car wincing only slightly the pain killers taking the edge off, Rixon moved to get the bags from the trunk.
Nora took Patch's hand as they walked through the gate and up the steps onto the porch. A small sign hung beside the door with some sort of design, must be the founders mark Clare said something about it on the phone. next to that was a similar sign with beware of the dog and a cheesy picture of a soppy looking creature sleeping on its back with it tongue hanging out.
Nora looked at Patch, he squeezed her hand only the slightest and she pulled on the bell. Instantly the sound of a large dog barking rang in the air so shh'd but it's owner. The door opened Nora's breathing hitched for only a second until she came face to face with her sister, a sister she has waited 24 years to meet.
A small tear rolled down the other woman's cheek as they took each other in for the first time.
Moving to morganville wouldn't be easy and Nora knew that, leaving behind only a few items but her family her future was here, standing on the porch in the Texas heat.
So I know you guys kinda hate me for not updating in years! But life gets in the way and now I'm back on my feet I'm dying to get these ideas down. I promise from now on you will have regular updates! Please review and let me know how my 'come back' is going! Love to you all ?
