Chapter 8: Morning Rises.

"Wake UUUUUUUP!"

"Ouch!" I yelled as I rubbed my ear-wait, where the hell are my ears!?...Oh yeah, I'm an Oshawott, gotta remember that.

"Come on! Get up!" Latias said, which was responded to with a series of groans, Mew included.

"I was not born to wake up this early..." Liz complained as she got up.

"No...no getting up..." Harrison mumbled still drowsy.

"Thanks for the wake up call, Latias." Mels groaned sarcastically.

"Cool!" Luke suddenly yelled, giving me a jumpscare.

"What is it?" Lydia asked.

"Check it out! I got a cupcake!" Luke cheered as he held a tasty looking little cake up with his teeth.

"Hey! I got one too!" Matt called out.

I looked down next to me and found one for me as well. Pretty soon everyone had found their own little cakes.

"This is really good." Luke said as he immediately tucked in.

"Yeah." Chris nodded...did I imagine that knowing hint in his voice?

I walked around a bit and found Gael, quickly noticing something. "Hey Gael, why don't you have one?"

"O-Oh, I..." He buried his face in his scarf, and I couldn't tell if he was being shy or hiding something, maybe even both. "I-I woke up...in the m-middle of the night and just found it here, so, yeah..."

I decided to just let it go as I finished off my cupcake, noticing Latias was floating off. "Latias? Where are you going?"

She turned to look at me. "I came back here to wake the rest of you up, I need to be back at the camp as sweaty-mcstinker before that lot wake up."

'Did she just insult herself?' I thought as she floated off whilst transforming.

"Okay, everyone!" Mew called out. "We have until Latias gets back to get cleaned up! So hurry and mess around!" That sent practically everyone rushing around and resulted in me getting elbowed in the face by Namae before I could actually move anywhere.

"Wake UUUUUP!" Everyone jumped up from their beds at the bus drivers bellow. "Come on! We gotta start looking again!"

Everyone grumbled as they set to work cleaning themslves and getting changed before dragging themselves out into the circle where the driver was waiting for them. "Alright all of you listen up! It's day two, so we gotta-"

Sean wasn't listening. He was thinking more on things. His mind had actually started to drift from their current problem of missing campers to an internal debate on where they actually were. He was almost completely certain that this was not Earth, and he wanted to verify this. Plus there were questions on the driver, he had the assumption that he was in on it in some way, he HAD driven them here after all. And now he had a way to see if he could get them both in one fell swoop.

"Excuse me, sir?" He spoke up. "Shouldn't you have called the police or something yet?"

"I put in a call last night, they SHOULD arrive here today." He must have pre-planned that one, he'd have to debate that question a little further later and move on to his other objective.

"Perhaps we should check down the road we came to get here? Maybe they were taken back there?" If they had come to a different world or, whatever, then the path they originally took would different to this one.

"Good idea Sean." Latias nodded, she wasn't gonna let him try and outsmart her. "Kana, Rei, you two go look."

"Uhh, okay, sure." Kana shrugged as she started walking down the path, with Rei hopping from tree to tree.

"Now then." Latias clapped her hands together. "Everyone else get looking, I shall go as well." And with that she hurriedly walked off.

"What was that all about?" Dalton asked with a raised eyebrow, and a slight queasy look.

Sean just sighed, he'd just have to keep investigating.

All of us were cleaning up in the lake, well, me and Cooper were swimming in it, but not a big difference. The ones who were hesitant were Chris, Melody, and Ray.

"We're fire types, water's meant to hurt us, right?" Chris asked Mew.

"Ah well, best excuse to never having a bath." Mels shrugged, causing Ray to stifle a snigger.

"Oh no, its only Rock types that have THAT problem. Fire types are fine as long as its calm water, just don't go under any waterfalls." Mew waved dismissively...before stopping Ray from jumping in with Psychic. "For you though, watch the tail flame, genius."

"Shoot, aw well." He huffed before just dipping his claws in.

At that moment who should turn up but a disguised Latias, before turning back to normal. "Okay pokemon! It's back to training for all of you!"

"Awww!" All of us groaned as Grace just smiled.

As we started training again Grace walked over to me. "Hey Grace." I greeted her.

"Hello Elin. I was planning to do some special training with you if that's okay." She smiled.

"Really? That would be great! Thank you! So what does it entail?"

Grace used Ice Beam to create some VERY small targets. "Try hitting these with your Water Gun."

I looked at the pea sized ice targets. "Hit THOSE?"

The Glaceon nodded. "Good concentration equals good accuracy, and good concentration also means power and focus. These will allow you to drastically increase Water Gun's power."

I stared at the almost impossible targets once more before sighing. "Okay, I'll give it a shot."

"Excellent! Good luck." She then walked off.

I tried firing my weak little Water Guns, but I just couldn't hit the targets, and how was I going to!?

"Hey, Elin!" A certain Ralts called as Vi walked over to me. "Whatcha doin'?"

"I'm trying to hit these targets Grace made for me, they're supposed to help improve my Water Gun." I pointed to the taunting targets. "But I just can't hit them! Stop mocking me!...How's your training going?"

"Really well!" She beamed. "I can use Confusion pretty well now! Watch!" Her horns started glowing blue and a Pecha Berry floated into her hands. "Pretty cool, huh?"

"Yeah, it's really cool." I agreed genuinely. "Hey, what do Pecha Berries taste like?"

"I thought they were gonna be sweet, but they weren't." She pouted, breaking a small bit off. "Here, try it."

I popped the piece into my mouth. It tasted savoury, like salad, but not bad.

"Hey Elin, Vi." Matt called as he walked over to us. "Have either of you seen Grace? I need her to help me sorting out Head Smash and Dragon Rush. All Mew does is pick me up and throw me..."

"Grace? I haven't seen her since she talked to me." I told him.

"Oo! Ooooo!" Vi raised her stub like a child in class. "Grace said someone else has transformed, and that she was going to bring him back."

"Someone else?" I thought aloud, so more people WERE transforming.

"Speak of the pokemon." Matt said as Grace returned.

"Everyone." Grace spoke up. "I'd like you all to meet Dalton." She stepped aside to let a Riolu walk into our vision. "He was quite lucky, he managed to make it out of sight just before he transformed."

"...Hey." He said nervously. "I'm Dalton."

"...Hey." I just said, before thinking hard. "...You seem familiar somehow..."

"Uhh...really?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah..." I was desperately trying to place it. "What did you...er...wear?"

"Wear?" Okay, he must be thinking I'm crazy by this point.

"Yeaaaah..."

"Err...my DBZ jacke-"

"YOUR THE DRAGON BALL Z JACKET GUY!" I yelled abruptly, making everyone around me jump. "Ack! Sorry, sorry, it's just I kept seeing you around."

"Okay..." He said nervously, probably thought I was some creepy stalker now.

"Okay Elin, since you've officially creeped Dalton out, YOUR explaining things." Latias scolded me.

"Crud." Was all I said.

Kana and Rei both went down the path via their own methods of travel. Kana looked up at her friend. "Are you EVER going to come down from those trees? This IS a crisis ya know."

He looked down at her guiltily. "I'm sorry, I just prefer it up here."

"I know, I know." She huffed. "Still, it wouldn't kill you to try talking to someone, I thought Elin was quite nice, before he got kidnapped."

"No thanks." He dismissed quickly.

She stopped and looked up at him. "You know what? I bet you can't even come down here for a minute."

His demeanour instantly changed and he hopped down. "I should win a medal for that."

"You wish." She joked. "But now the tough part comes: walking!" She faked a dramatic gasp.

"A tough challenge indeed." He played along as he walked alongside her.

Kana inwardly praised herself, she knew which buttons to push to make Rei more confident. Challenges, he was always up for one.

They continued walking down the path in a timid silence, it was like that a lot for the duo, when they weren't talking friendly. So they kept walking...and walking...and walking. "Okay, okay, this is clearly stupid." Kana sighed at last. "Let's just head back already."

"But I thought we were supposed to find out if the path was different or not?" Rei asked.

"Who cares? I wasn't paying attention to the ROAD on the way here anyway." She countered as she turned and started walking.

"Okay." Rei said bluntly as he began to climb a tr-

"Don't even think about it."

"Damn it." He started walking.

They hadn't walked far when Rei started groaning. "Seriously!? It's THAT hard for you?" Kasa huffed.

"I don't feel well..." He mumbled.

"Let's take a quick break then, emphasis on the quick." She said as he sat down, making her just walk around in a circle bored.

Rei began sweating a lot. "Is it getting hotter?"

"Nope, must be you." Kasa said, but now becoming genuinely concerned about her friend.

"...Kasa? Why are you hopping?"

She looked at him as if he'd sprouted an extra head. "What are you talking about? I'm walking."

"No your not." He replied bluntly. "Your hopping."

Kasa finally took notice of the fact that she had switched from walking in a circle to hopping in a circle. "Woah!" She gasped as she stopped. "...That was weird."

"Yeah, you just-oooooorrrggghhh." He suddenly groaned as he clutched his stomach and curled into a ball.

"Rei! Are you okay!?" She asked.

"I think I'm gonna be sick..." The boy replied. "Orrrrgggghhhh..." Just as it looked like he WAS about to throw up, a giant fire erupted from his back.

"HOLY SHIT! REI YOU ARE LITERALLY ON FIRE!" Kasa screamed.

"I'M ON FIIIIIIRE! PUT ME OUT!" Rei shouted in panic as he began rolling on the ground, trying to smother the flames.

"Keep rolling! I'm gonna go get some help!" She cried, when suddenly she was knocked to the ground by a fierce spasm of pain in her head. "Ahhhhh! What the hell is this!?"

As the inferno coming out of Rei's back slowly died down, fur began to grow all over him, cream coloured at the front of his body, under his nose, and around his eyes, whilst black along his back half of his body. The flames finally flickered out to reveal four red spots as he began to shrink, his arms slowly but surely shrinking into stubs, as well as his legs becoming stubbier with a single toe on each. His hair fell out at the same time his eyes squeezed closer and closer together, though oddly, his vision was unaltered. Finally his ears disappeared and his nose slowly grew longer and longer until it was the same length as his head.

"Owwww..." "Cyndaaaa..." He whined.

Meanwhile Kasa had shrunk first, as brown fur grew all over her body. Her ears slowly stretched out and shuffled up to the top of her head, one curling up into a brown furry blob, speaking of her head it was being squashed into a more spherical shape. Yellow fluffy fur grew on the tops of her lengthen and curled up ears, whilst also growing around her hips, with a little cotton ball tail poking out. Her fingers shrank into paws and her legs shrank into her body, with spherical paws replacing her feet. To finish it off her eyes grew taller and less wide, with her nose becoming small and black with a small mouth.

"What the hell just happened?" "Bun Buneary Bun Buneary?" She rubbed her forehead.

The two then realised their new language, increased pitches and understanding of each other. The two then stared at each other for a minute, minds comprehending the new development. In the end, Kasa spoke first.

"Cool! Wonder how high I can jump now?"

"THAT'S YOUR RESPONSE TO THIS!?" Rei asked as he shook his altered head in a panic.

Kasa, meanwhile, was hopping around. "This is great! Wonder what else this has improved?" She thought aloud as she began stretching.

"CAN'T YOU SEE WE'VE TURNED INTO POKEMON!?" He screamed hysterically.

"Yeah, this actually explains a lot." She shrugged as she tried jogging on the spot.

"...I guess so..." He mentally admitted defeat.

"Heeeeeey!"

Rei almost screamed as he hid behind Kasa, with none other then Latias turning up. "Hey, your a Latias." Kasa stated.

"No shit, Sherlock." She replied with a bored gaze. "HAD to be you two next didn't it?"

"N-Next? You mean..." Rei started.

"Trust me, your not the first." The legendary finished before turning around. "You two are gonna drag me down walking. Get on."

"Okay." Kasa shrugged as she climbed on.

"K-Kasa! W-What is she-" Rei started again.

"Get on my back. NOW." Latias demanded, causing the Cyndaquil to hurriedly climb on. "Looks like I'LL have to be doing the explaining on the way. Typical." The Latias concealed herself and her passengers with her illusion abilities before taking off.

"Woah! So my FIRST name, is the same as your SECOND name!?" Ray gasped.

"That's right." I nodded.

"That's so cool!" He beamed.

I looked behind him to see Namae giving me the evil eye, damn, that Grovyle was scary when she wanted to be.

"Hey, Elin?" Dalton walked over to me, after I had explained everything he seemed fine with me. "Latias just took off somewhere, should we be worried?"

"Well, she takes off all the time, so I wouldn't worry about it." I reassured him.

He breathed a small sigh of relief. "Good, I was just a little worried." The Riolu walked a few steps away and...what the heck? He was jumping and hopping and punching the air, was he autistic like me?

"You okay?" I asked him.

Dalton stopped and looked at me. "Yeah. Sorry, I'm just training DBZ style."

"You really like DBZ don't you?" I thought aloud.

"It's my favourite anime." He smiled. "Do you watch it?"

"A few." I admitted. "I'm personally a One Piece fan."

"Fairy Tail is better!" Liz called over.

"Everyone has their own opinions!" I called back.

"Calling..er...all of you!" Mew suddenly called over. "We're going to do our second practice battle today! So, any volunteers?"

"Yeah, I'll go." Liz raised her paw.

"Great!" Mew beamed. "Anyone else?" There was a pause. "Aaaaaanyone eeeeeeelse?"

"I'm up for it." I turned to see Cooper raising is paw.

"Yay! Then it's settled! Liz vs. Cooper! Let's get set up!" She cheered as we who weren't competing went to the sidelines, and Liz and Cooper took their positions.

I then thought of something and called to Cooper. "Hey Cooper!" He looked over at me with his arms folded behind his head. "Have you learnt any moves yet!?"

"Nope, not yet." He shrugged.

"...WHAT!?" Almost all of us yelled.

"Then how are you gonna fight?" Harrison yelled.

"I'll just use my skills." He was shrugging off every problem coming his way, I liked him.

"Okay then! Battle begin!" Mew announced giddily.

"All right, let's do it!" Liz exclaimed as she fired a Flamethrower from her mouth, which Cooper narrowly dodged.

"Can I just ask? Can I hit a girl?" He asked her.

The Vulpix shrugged. "Sure."

"Cool." He nodded as he ran at her. He swiped at her with one of his paws, making her lean to avoid it. He then punched with his other paw, which she also dodged, but her backhanded her and knocked her away.

"Wow, he's got some moves." Chris praised someone, photo opportunity folks!

"It seems he's making up for his lack of techniques with physical capabilities." Grace thought aloud.

Cooper performed a handstand and swept his entire body in a circle, forcing Liz to jump before being caught in the ankles, unfortunately, like me, she overpowered her jump.

"Woah! Too high!" Liz stated without panic.

"Sorry about this." Cooper said as he jumped above her and slammed both fists down onto her back Hammer Arm style, sending her flying down into the ground with a small explosion.

"Liz!" I called in shock.

The Buizel landed in front of the debris cloud as Liz made herself known in it, shaking her head to clear it and covered in dirt from the impact.

"All right! No more nice Liz!" She declared as she charged at him with a Tackle, he jumped into the air to avoid itt. "Flamethrower time!" She shot a trail of fire from her mouth that hit Cooper straight on. The Buizel fell down to the ground hard.

"Damn..." He mumbled, standing up only to get a Tackle from Liz, throwing him across the makeshift battlefield like a rag doll.

"That had to sting." Lydia winced as Cooper pushed himself to his feet.

"That was pretty good." Cooper complimented her.

"Thanks." Liz accepted the compliment.

Cooper charged again with a straight punch, but Liz spun and deflected the blow with her tails, before giving him another Tackle, making him skid back to his original position.

Cooper rubbed his head with a frown. "Looks like I gotta take it up a notch." He punched his own paw in determination as he once more charged her.

"This again? Seriously?" Liz fired a Flamethrower but he suddenly did an impressive jump to land behind her. Then he did something I DEFINITELY was not expecting.

He twisted his two tails around one of hers! "Gotcha!" He smirked.

"Wha-? Hey! Lemme go!" She tried to pull away from him, but his tails had binded her fourth one like a spring.

Cooper suddenly jumped ten feet into the air, taking Liz with her, and began spinning around.

"He wouldn't!" I gasped.

"I think he would." Mels nodded.

"Haaaaa!" Using the spinning momentum he smashed her into the ground, creating a big explosion.

I coughed and waved the dust out of my eyes to try and get a better look at the scene. When the smoke finally cleared, both were still standing, though Liz had a few bruises here and there now.

"Phew..." Cooper panted. "Your pretty tough..."

"Thanks." She accepted his compliment once more, but this time there was a hint of malice. "But now...I'm pretty annoyed." She charged at him with another Tackle.

"Let's see if this works..." The Buizel suddenly inflated his collar, making Liz bounce harmlessly off it before it returned to normal.

"Clever." Harrison acknowledged the strategy.

Cooper let loose a flurry of punches which Liz jumped across the ground away from.

"Alright then, I've got a trick as well." Liz smiled as she breathed a Flamethrower all around her, trapping her in a circle of fire.

"Um, did she just give herself a disadvantage?" Ray asked anyone.

The flames died out to reveal Liz glowing orange. "It's Flash Fire, a Vulpix's special ability." Grace noted.

"Oh! So she surrounded herself with fire so that the flames would hit her!" Ray smiled at his figuring it out.

"Here we go." Liz grinned as she took a deep breath and let loose a more powerful Flamethrower.

"Well, cr-" Cooper was cut off as the flames swamped over him. As they died down they revealed a blackened Cooper with swirled eyes.

"Cooper's down! That means Liz is the winner!" Mew cheered.

"Sweet." She nodded in approval.

"Great job, Liz." I praised her as I walked over.

"Thanks Elin."

A conscious Cooper staggered over, dusting off his blackened body. "Guess I lost..."

"Yeah, but Cooper! You did really well without using any moves! That's impressive!" Matt exclaimed.

Cooper smiled. "Thanks." He then turned to Liz. "You were really great out there. Maybe we could train together sometime, just you and me."

"No thanks, I'm good." She stated bluntly before walking off.

There was a slight pause before I started snickering. "Oh my god...did you just FLIRT with Liz?"

"Pretty much." He smiled.

"...Hahahahahaaaaaa!" I burst out laughing. "Hahahaha, okay, okay, it-it's not funny...pfff yes it is! Hahahahaaaa! FLIRT, with LIZ!? Ohhhh...ohhoho...good try though. Let's just say that Liz wouldn't acknowledge flirting if it came and slapped her in the face, she's a tomboy...don't tell her I said that though."

"Hmm..." Cooper just rubbed his burnt chin in thought.

"Come on, Cooper, you need to rest." Grace told him as she led him away.

Flirt...with Liz...priceless...

...I literally don't think I can come up with a reliable excuse for this delay...

Pawniard: Damn shitty author, it's taken you a monthto update!

I know...I have no shame...at least I finally got it up though...

Pawniard: At least! Feel free to rant at this idiot all you want, readers, HE DESERVES IT!

Your right, I'd better jump out this window just to make sure...

Pawniard: You do that. This damn author doesn't own Pokemon or any of the anime/manga mentioned. Oh, and to BlueFlame27, give us some preferences and we'll see what we can do. Thank you for reading.
