Chapter 10: Pairing Problems
"Your the one who saw them last!"
"I'm not a goddamn babysitter!"
"You could've at least stayed close!"
Sean banged his head continuosly on the table. The noise outside had been going on practically forever. 'How the hell am I going to survive this!?' Natalie's last words had really gotten to him, even though he knew it shouldn't. It was probably something trivial, but it still niggled in the back of his mind, and the constant shouting outside was definitely not helping.
'Putain ce!' He swore in his head in French before stomping towards the door and throwing it open. "Hey! What the hell is going on!?"
"The hell is our youngest campers just gone!" One guy yelled.
"What!? Who!?"
"That girl, Nina! I told this bellend to keep an eye on her!"
"I'm not a f****** surveillance camera!" Annnnd the shouting continued.
"All of you just calm down!" Sean yelled, reaching the end of his rope.
"Like you've done any f****** good!" And THAT was the last straw. One thing about Sean was that plans worked for him, and when plans go wrong, he gets stressed, BIG time.
He stormed back into his cabin, grabbed his gun, walked back out, and shot a warning shot straight into the sky. This certainly got everyone's attention, ceasing the fighting.
"There, that's better." Sean said, regaining his composure.
"Why the hell do you have a gun!?" One camper got straight to the point.
"Comforter." Sean told them honestly, gently resting the gun on the floor and holding his hands up. "I'm not going to hurt anyone. Just stop arguing." And stop they did, especially the more timid campers.
Sean kicked the precious gun back into his cabin and lowered his arms. "Right. New rule. From now on, we're all going in groups of three and four, for protection. Alright?" They all nodded. "Good. And this time, I'll be going as well."
The campers quickly left, whilst Sean sighed in exasperation. 'Didn't think it'd go that far...' He sighed. 'Better keep to my word.' He then started his own walk into the forest.

Joanne kicked a pebble forward, letting it scramble across the stick covered path as she hummed to herself. Joanne had dark brown hair with blue eyes, and pale skin. She wore a dark red jacket, with a black t-shirt, red fingerless gloves, blue jeans and white trainers.
To be honest, she didn't particularly stick out amongst the others, she just happened to be a regular girl who everyone liked because of how nice she was...and her love of pokemon, obviously. But the experience which felt like mere seconds ago back at the camp had quite shaken her, and now she was contemplating things.
"Why would he have a gun? Why would he even need a gun!? I-how did he even get it past the-" She stopped, realising she was talking to herself. 'Okay...now I'm going insane.' She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and laid back against a tree. 'I'll just rest here a bit. Yep, that's what I'll do.'
She hadn't been resting for long when the bushes next to her slowly rustled. Too shaken already to consider something dangerous, Joanne crawled over to the bush and parted it. Standing there was none other then Dalton, who had recently been tasked with surveying the area by Latias.
'I don't know why I have to check the area, I'd rather be training.' He thought with a grimace. 'I don't see WHY anyway, what am I supposed to be looking for?'
"Okay, I HAVE gone insane." Joannne said.
This obviously startled the Riolu and he turned around. 'Crap! I've been spotted! Is that bad!?'
Joanne tentatively reached out a hand and stroked Dalton's head. "Hey! Stop tha...mmmm." "Rio! Riolu Ri...oluuuuuu." Dalton smiled at the nice feeling of being petted.
"Wow...your real..." Joanne said as she took her hand away and crouched down, staring at him. "A real Riolu..." Dalton blushed a bit from the praise due to his shyness. "Do you live around here?"
Dalton opened his mouth, then shut it again. 'Right, can't talk...I wonder if this girl is compatible?'
Joanne looked at him quizzically. "I guess you can't give me a proper answer...oooh..." She then clutched her stomach.
'Guess I got my answer.' Dalton thought as he stood back to give her some room.
"Owwwww..." Joanne groaned as she continued to hold her waist. "I feel sick..."
Suddenly a long black furred tail shot out from the back of her jeans, her ears moved to the top of her head, becoming big and round with yellow insides as yellow circles appeared on her cheeks.
'It's obviously a different Gen Pikachu.' Dalton nodded to himself.
Then something unexpected happened. It stopped. Joanne's transformation had halted. "...Wait, what?" Dalton gawked.
"H-Hey, I feel a little better now." Joanne smiled, unaware of her three new changes.
"Why did it stop?" Dalton continued to ask himself.
Joanne stared at him. "Huh? Why did what stop?" It took her a minute to realise the obvious fact. "I just understood you!"
"This didn't happen with me..." He pondered.
"What didn't happen with you-" She was cut off as her new tail quivered into view. "Ah! What is this thing!? Ow!" She had given it a small tug only to hurt herself. "Hey...that hurt me!...Is this...mine!?"
"Well..." Dalton gulped nervously at the situation he had had ZERO experience in handling.
Her hands travelled to her head to hold her new ears. "Why are my ears so big!? And what's up with my face!?" She asked more and more questions as she felt her new cheek sacs.
"I think I'm gonna have to take you to Mew." Dalton said. "Just-Just follow me and...don't...be spotted!"
"Easier said then done!" She almost screamed as she held her tail down, the two resorting to crawling to avoid being seen.

Linda van der Leeuwen, an 18 year old female albino, walked silently through the dense forest.
Being an albino, Linda had the all familiar white hair, red eyes and whiter than usual skin. She wore a simple black long-sleeved shirt with a dark grey jacket and a hoodie. Jeans with big and deep pockets that was held up with a sturdy black ribbon that had a bow at the back instead of a belt, white and blue sneakers and a worn leather rimed hat almost always on her head. A pair of yellow sunglasses was being worn to keep any creeping sunlight out of her eyes.
She also showed the common theme of being sensitive to sunlight, but luckily the forest managed to block out most of it. Linda wasn't much of a talker. It wasn't that she was shy, it was just that she didn't like to keep up long conversations, so this form of tranquility was quite comfortable.
Still, the situation was pretty serious for her, and she was concerned over it. Especially that one guy, Elin Ray. She couldn't describe it, but she had felt something about him in particular, and she could tell he disappeared first, making her worry just a bit more.
She sighed as she stopped for a seconde, looking at her surroundings. Trees, bushes, and more trees, but still couldn't complain. As she did though, she couldn't help but feel a weird sensation in her chest.
"Hmph." She grunted as she sat down for a second to settle herself.
Linda stayed still as she began to shrink down to a much smaller size. One by one her albino features began to fade, her white hair shrank back into her scalp, with her red eyes slowly shrinking until they looked like they didn't exist, and her whitish skin slowly turning blue. Her top and lower canines became longer and sharper as her ears moved to the top of her head and grew bigger with pointed ends and purple insides. Her nose also shrank until it had practically gone, and her legs lengthened and sharpened until they were long blue points. In the final part of the transformation, her arms stretched out in width, becoming wide and leathery, with blue edge and purple insides, bat wings.
As her transformation ended, she looked around, only to see practically nothing. 'What is this?' She thought to herself. As a resort, she called for help. "Hello!?" "Scree!?" As she shouted, she emitted a big soundwave that bounced off of a tree and reflected back, Linda's new hypersensitive ears picked up the waves, and gave her a perfect 'view' of herself and the area.
"Wait...I'm a Zubat!?" "Scre...eeeee!?" She screeched. '...I suppose it could be worse...'
She gently gave her new wings a few flaps, testing them as she slowly rose into the air. 'Okay...now what?' She flew around blind for a second before using her new hypersonic abilities to find her way. 'Let's see where I can go..' And so she flew onward.

"You have GOT to be kidding me!"
I covered my ears at Latias' outburst, as she angrily floated over to Mew. "We have a serious problem here!"
Mew sighed as she folded her tiny arms. "What now?"
"Sean! F****** Sean! He is single handedly screwing everything up!" Okay, Latias was MAD.
"How so?" Mew said with a bored stare.
"For ONE thing, he he's now trekking off searching through here for evidence!"
"Aaaaaand...?"
"He has a gun."
Mew's eyes actually sharpened at this. "A gun? How?"
"I don't know, maybe he got a special permit or something, but things are going mad over there!" I was now becoming curious, was everything going Lord of the Flies over there?
"Eep!" Gael hid his face in his scarf and vanished due to his illusions along with Janine.
Mew looked deep in thought for a second, before returning to her carefree grin, let him do what he wants, doesn't matter."
Latias' jaw dropped. "Does-DOESN'T MATTER!?"
"Everything will be fine in the end." Mew waved it off.
Latias kept her angry expression, but then it switched to a more calmer one, as if sudden realisation had come over her. "...Okay, fine. But I'm getting involved if it gets any uglier!"
'All I've heard Latias talk about is this 'Sean' guy.' I thought as I crossed my arms. 'Is he really that big a problem?'
"I think I've heard of this 'Sean'." Harrison said as he walked over. "He's a very good tactician, and a national state champion."
"I think he's French." Liz nodded as she joined us.
I raised a non existent eyebrow at her. "Why do you say that?"
She did what I could only presume was a shrug. "Just got that French vibe, y'know?"
"French...vibe? Is that even a thing?" Was all I could say.
"Why don't we just beat that Sean guy up a little?" Matt suggested.
Lydia facepalmed. "Why don't you try coming up with a less violent solution?"
I decided to walk away from the conversation and over to the resting area, where-
"Mystery Dungeeeeeeeon!"
"I'LL KILL YOU!"
Luke and Chris were now filling in the craters they had made, and still annoying each other. "Can't you two stop arguing for even a second?" Namae sighed from the sidelines.
"Nope!" Luke grinned.
"I hate you so much..." Chris hissed.
"You did really really really well, Luke!" Sarah smiled.
Luke smiled with a small blush. "Thanks, Sarah!" I saw Chris roll his eyes.
"So, how long do you guys have to do this?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Until they're all done. Stupid Dragon Psychic bitch." Chris grumbled.
"Dingadalingadaling! Super special Mew announcement!" Mew's cheerful voice ran out, so I left Luke and Chris to their thing.
"Super special?" Mels folded her arms.
"Whatisit? Whatisit? Whatisit?" Nina repeated excitedly.
"It's the next battle, but this one's super special!" Mew squealed. "It's a tag team!"
'Tag team?' I thought.
"Two on two!" She squeaked. "So, who's up for it?"
"Ooh! Ooh! Memememememe!" Vi cheered, raising her arm excitedly.
"Then Vi's number one! Who's gonna be your partner?" I knew what was coming next and tried to sneak away.
"Elin of course!" She cheered, grabbing my hand.
"Okay! Vi and Elin! And who else?" She scanned the area.
"I'm up for it!" Kana offered. "And so is Rei!"
"What!?" Rei gasped from atop one of his trees
"Alright then! It's Vi and Elin vs Kana and Rei!" Mew announced. "Positions!"
"Don't worry Elin! We'll win! The Dragon Slayer and her partner!" She fist pumped.
'...I at least want a name too.' I sighed inwardly.
So we took our positions (Rei had to be pulled down from his tree by Mew.) and prepared ourselves for battle.
"Hey Elin! No hard feelings, right?" Kana called.
"No hard feelings!" I called back.
"I don't even wanna be here!" Rei whimpered.
"Let's do it!" Vi cried.
"Then begin! Ding ding!" Mew chanted.
"Alright!" Kana pulled up her furry 'shorts' and began hopping up and down.
"Um...what are you doing?" I blinked in confusion.
She then jumped really high into the air, aiming for us! "She's using Bounce!" Cooper called over just before we jumped out of the way.
"Not done yet!" She laughed as she jumped again towards me!
"Ahh!" I screamed as I began running around to avoid Kana squashing me. "Damnit!" Reacting on impulse I shot a Water Gun at her that knocked her out of the air.
'Huh? That Water Gun was more powerful then when I fought Matt.' I thought. 'I guess Grace's training really helped.'
Kana hopped back up and brushed her fur down. "Okay then." She then looked at her partner, who looked like he didn't want to be there at all. "Rei! Come on!"
I turned to Vi. "What moves do you know, Vi?"
"Well, I know Growl and Confusion...that's it for now." She shrugged. "But I'll try it!" She took a deep breath and exhaled heavily, a red air wave blowing across Kana and Rei, weakening them slightly.
"Shoot..." Kana groaned. "Rei! C'mon! We gotta fight going on here!"
Rei looked up at her for a bit before nodding. "Alright, I'll do it!" He ignited the flames on his back and now looked properly ready for battle.
"Now everyone's ready!" Vi smiled as she rubbed her horn. "All this enthusiasm's getting me pumped up!"
'Let's try a physical attack!' I thought as I charged forward with Tackle. Rei seemed to have the same thought, and we hit each other before literally rolling back. 'Owww...bad idea...' I thought as I rubbed my injured forehead.
"Yaaaah!" I jumped and ran for it as Kana made a Jump Kick for me, which I narrowly dodged.
"Aaaah!" Rei began a Tackle towards Vi.
She spread her arms out as her horns glowed blue, as well as Rei who was quickly lifted up into the air. "It worked!" She beamed with pride.
"Put me down!" Rei yelled as he sucked in a lot of air for what I presumed was an Ember.
"Sorry!" Vi said before she threw him back sending him crashing back into Kana and leaving them in a crumpled mess. They eventually got up with awkward coughs and slight blushes.
"See Elin? We make a great team!" Vi cheered.
"Well, we've only just started, we shouldn't get cocky." I reasoned.
She crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks in a pout. "I'm not."
"Umm, sorry?" I rubbed the back of my head.
"Okay..." Kana shook her head. "That didn't go as planned."
"I'll try something." Rei offered, before he looked at me sharply with those squinty eyes, which for some reason made me back up a bit nervously.
"Huh?" Vi rubbed her horn. "What's wrong Elin? You being creeped out is making me being creeped out."
"It's Rei, I think he's using Leer on me." I shuddered from the effects.
"Hey! Keep your eyes on the battle!" Ray yelled, we both snapped out of it and looked forward to see Rei climbing a tree whilst Kana hopped up one.
"They're climbing." Vi stated as our eyes followed them up the tree.
"Well, let's stop them." I shot Water Gun shots at them, but the leaves blocked the shots.
"I've got it!" Vi used Confusion to tear off the leaves, when she rubbed her horn. "Ohhh..."
"Vi? Are you alright?" I asked her in concern.
"My head hurts..." She moaned.
"What's wrong with her?" I heard Sarah ask in concern.
"She's overused Confusion." I heard Grace reply. "She still hasn't gotten used to using psychic abilities yet."
"Vi? Vi!" I tried to shake her out of it, but she was still in slight pain.
And that's when I took a meteorised Jump Kick to the face, sending me sprawling back into the dirt. "Elin!" Vi called in panic when she was hit by an Ember. "Ouch!" She was then hit by a meteorised Tackle from Rei, senbding her flying back next to me.
'They climbed all that way so gravity would increase their attacks!' I winced as I struggled to my flippers, and helped Vi up.
"Okay...maybe I did celebrate a bit early." She murmured in pain.
"It's not your fault." I reassured her. "But...we are in trouble."
Cliffhanger! And I'm not dead!
Pawniard: *Sharpening Claws*
Heyheyhey! I have a reason! The computer failed and deleted this entire frikkin document! I HAD TO WRITE THIS THING ALL OVER AGAIN! Please show sympathy!
Pawniard:...No.
Your so mean!
Pawniard: Your own fault, but I must admit, I liked the part where Sean pulled out his gun.
Yeah, you WOULD like that part. That scene was actually suggested by Sean's...author, Jeffrey Seven. For those of you who have sent in an OC (I'm NOT accepting ANY more!), if you have a particular scene you'd like to happen, just tell me about it!
Anyway, thank you for reading folks! Reviews are much appreciated!
Pawniard: Aren't you forgetting something?
Oh yes! Joanne belongs to JJWalker12! And Linda van der Leeuwen belongs to meteorce! Thank you!
Pawniard: And I'M getting the last word.
