Snow, Finn, and Princess Bubblegum are all flying over the grasslands preparing themselves for the confrontation with Ice King. Princess Bubblegum is worried about her kingdom and people, Finn is worried about the innocent lives that are getting endangered, and Snow is praying that her father isn't hurting anyone, and she is praying that it isn't even her father attacking the Candy Kingdom. As they travel across the lush and calm plains of the grasslands on the way to the kingdom, the trio begins to feel a temperature drop, albeit a small one. Snow doesn't notice it because she likes the cold and always keeps herself cold, however Finn does notices it and begins to get worried.
"Hey guys, you feel that?" Finn asked the two girls as they were floating in the sky.
"Feel what?" Asked Princess Bubblegum
"The temperature drop….I have a bad feeling about this…" Finn trailed off and went into deep thought; his words gave worry to the two princesses. Snow began to speed up slightly due to her anxiety and anticipation of what she will find. Suddenly they all feel a major temperature drop in the area, the closer they get to the kingdom, the colder it gets. All the trio did was look at each other and already assumed the worse; only the Ice King can do this, only when he goes completely insane. Gradually the clear and sunny skies turn dark, cloudy, windy, and with snow fall.
"You know if it wasn't the Ice King doing this I wouldn't mind playing in the snow right now" Snow still didn't want to admit it was her father causing all of this so she fought against Finn.
"Finn, we don't know that yet. All we know is that it's cold and snowing."
"Listen Snow, you know your father better than us, but we have actually fought him, he has kidnapped me in the past numerous times. Ask yourself, is this really not the work of the Ice King?" All snow did was go silent, she knew deep down that her father was the cause of all of this craziness. Then suddenly it hit them. Freezing temperatures and deadly winds mixed in with a vicious snowstorm, however the eye if this snowstorm, the focus and the center of the storm, is where the Candy Kingdom is supposed to be. Snow stopped to think about what to do next.
"What the hell is that? When did the Ice King learn how to do that!?" Finn was surprised as he never saw the Ice King do something of this scale.
"The better question is how we get inside that. If we are not careful we could either freeze or get sucked up and killed by the violent winds" Princess Bubblegum pointed out. But Snow had an idea, something that was extremely obvious.
"Guys I can just freeze you real quick and go in. I have ice powers so I can makes sure that doesn't even touch us." Snow did have a good point and Finn nodded his approval.
"If it means getting inside the Candy Kingdom, fine." Snow completely froze Finn and Princess Bubblegum to protect them from the storm's spiral. She continued into the snow storm over the Candy Kingdom, and as she began to use her powers, the storm began to break apart and let her through with little problems. She became proud of herself that she could do that.
"See guys told you I could do it no problem at all" But then she noticed Finn's and Bubblegum's sunken faces of horror and surprise, she finally noticed the Candy Kingdom. It was no longer its usual colorful and happy Kingdom, filled with candy people going about their days. There was no longer a bright shining sun giving off a sense of security and happiness. It was hidden behind the violent clouds and white snow that ironically gave off a sense of dread and evil despite its pure white color. All the citizens were frozen in place, as if they had no idea what was happening, as if it was they were frozen in an instant. The buildings and houses were also frozen and capped with snow. Only the castle seems to be left slightly unchanged, with some ice around the base and banana guards frozen at their post. The eye of the storm seems to be located here. Finn's face turns from that of surprise and horror to a face of anticipation and anger.
"Ice King has gone too far this time. I will make sure he fixes all of this." Finn always gets angry when the lives of innocent bystanders become endangered, but with the Ice King going crazy and Princess Bubblegum getting on his nerves, his anger is higher than what it has ever been. Finn is sick of everything that keeps causing him problems, when all he wants to do is hang out with Snow.
"Snow, let us go. I'll go by myself, shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I'm going to whoop his ass!" Snow was reluctant at first because she doesn't know what Finn is capable of when he is mad, but she does know that he isn't a pushover, and that it'll take a lot to beat him.
"Finn calm down or ill just leave you two here and deal with him myself, plus I can just keep on flying there" Finn just stood silent and took a deep breath. Snow was right, he knew he shouldn't get into a fight while angry, it'll make him lose the fight, and maybe even die.
"All right I calmed down, but we still need to get to that castle. We need to be careful because we don't know what he can be capable of. If he can do this whole snowstorm-tornado- thing then he could probably do way more. Just bring us down real quick" Snow nodded her head and lowered down to the wall surrounding the kingdom. She then unfroze both Finn and Princess Bubblegum. Finn began to stretch out his limbs and jump around trying to get feeling back in his body. He was trying to stay calm, and his face showed, it was almost emotionless.
"Why did u want us to land Finn?" Finn then subtly gripped his sword Ethereal Darkness and turned to the two.
"We need to make a plan, we can't just go in all wild, we need to make sure whatever happens, we all come back safe and sound." Finn did not let go of his sword while he was saying this, and he began to breathe in and out slowly as if getting ready for something.
"I agree, I think we should sneak in through one of the dungeon cells, then make our way up and Find the Ice King, if, that is of course, he is still there." Princess Bubblegum knew he would be at the castle, he is probably looking for her and waiting for her. Princess Bubblegum did not want to reveal to Snow how she was born, part of the deal, and knowing the new Ice King, he would go insane. Snow made an ice chair and sat.
"Why do we have to go through all this trouble all we have to do is fly to the top and talk to him, it's not like he will attack us or anything right?" Snow said with a face of worry and desperation.
"Snow we are kinda trapped in a snow storm…with a whole kingdom frozen, including its citizens. He won't exactly be calm and patient." Finn continued his emotionless expression and his slow and deep breathing. He then began to clutch the hilt of his sword harder, as if anticipating something.
"Ok. So what's the plan guys?" Princess Bubblegum finally asked and wanted to get all of this resolved.
"It's this guys." Finn drew his sword lightning fast and struck the ground creating a black circle that he sunk into. Immediately he was teleported behind Snow though a black portal and knocked her out by hitting the base of her neck, and he then proceeded to disappear in a puff of black smoke and reappear behind Princess Bubblegum. He then strikes her and renders her unconscious. This all happened in less than a second.
"The plan is for you guys to sleep this one out and for me to finish off the Ice King. I won't let this continue." Finn began to breath normally again and his face became more calm.
"I really wish I still had my hat, it's kinda cold out here." Finn's shining golden colored hair was blowing in the freezing wind as he faced the castle. He made one large leap and when he went halfway down the side of the kingdom walls, he used the sword's power to teleport him to the ground safely. He took note of his surroundings. The shops seems unchanged except there was a thick layer of ice surrounding them, with icicles hanging from the roofs of the buildings and houses. There was snow half way up his calve and the snow didn't seem to stop falling. I hope the girls will be ok Finn thought. Finn didn't want to leave the girls alone in the snow and the cold so he decided to shroud the top of the wall where he jumped from with darkness to give them some protection form the snow.
"That should help a lil bit. Now let's get to this castle, before it become one big ice cream cone." Finn said half-jokingly. He began his difficult journey amongst the snow and the icy cold wind. Luckily Finn is used to this from playing in the snow in the Ice kingdom and after training, his legs are strong so they can walk through this thick and heavy snow. As he got closer to the castle he began to take note of some of the figures frozen in place. There was Lady Treetrunks and her husband Mr. Pig, and then Shelby on a house and a green snail behind him. There were candy people all frozen without a hint of fear, they were all frozen without even realizing it, and they were frozen in place while doing their daily errands and chores. Finn looked up and didn't even know if it was night or if it was just cloudy. He got tired of looking at all this frozen figures and decided to use the powers a little more to get to the castle quickly. It shouldn't make me that tired Finn thought. He then proceeded to make a tall black oval portal and stepped through it, and when he came out he was across the bridge from the castle. Looks like I know its max range, this thing really is useful he thought. He ran across the bridge and tried to open the front gate but it was frozen shut. Finn then quickly drew his sword and shot darkness at the door and started to slash at it, and while the sword is razor sharp and the darkness is an incredible power, he could not crack the ice.
"How the hell is ice stronger than my sword? Ice King must be using some crazy strong magic to keep this from breaking." Finn stepped back and drew his sword one more time, hoping his next strike could do it. He focused darkness into the blade of the sword and used it to strike the door at extreme speed, and this attack cut the door in half. Finn walked through and began to breathe in heavy, but slowly nonetheless. Damn that attack took more out of me than I thought it would he thought. He began to walk through the frozen castle, trying to find some signs of the Ice King. There were no lights, the candles that lit up the large monument were frozen solid. Finn noticed that Guards were frozen in place, looks like not all the guards were aware of the Ice King, or maybe they were ordered to guard certain areas just in case. The bright and festive aura of the castle with its large corridors of candy colors like pink was replaced with a dead atmosphere, as if it was the ninth circle of hell. Finn himself felt as if he had died and Death might force him to a battle of the bands to be revived. The chandeliers were incased in ice with icicles hanging down and the flames frozen solid. Even though Finn has seen the Ice Kingdom hundreds of times, he never saw it like this. Even with its dead presence and the feeling of time being frozen along with everything else, Finn felt at peace in this frozen palace. It was as if the ice took away the anxiety of the castle.
Finn moved on until he reached the throne room, but to his disappointment, it was empty and void of life. Finn kept his mind cleared of all thoughts to prepare himself for anything, especially the battle against Ice King. As he began to exit the throne room to search the castle more for Ice King, he heard the yelling of a mad man and sounds of a fight, it was at the top of the castle. Finn quickly ran outside to catch a glimpse of what was happening, but all he could see at the top of the castle was the dark clouds and bolts of ice being shot. Ice King.. Thought Finn. He drew Ethereal Darkness and stabbed the wall, causing him to slip into a small black circle that let him travel up the side of the building where he saw the bolts flying out. When he reached the top he jumped out with his sword ready to attack the Ice King and got into his fighting stance.
"ICE KING! Huh?" when Finn finally realized what he saw his face turn pale white, with sunken eyes. He lost his angry battle ready demeanor and gained one of terror, despair, and of sorrow. His arms dropped and he fell to his knees still staring at the terrible sight.
Lady Rainicorn's elongated body was frozen, however her hind legs were nowhere to be seen, they must have been shattered. The rest of her body was in a gruesome contorted position due to pain, she was completely conscience and not frozen when her legs were frozen. But her head was not connected to the body, it was a few feet away from the body, with its eyes literally frozen open forever showcasing the face of true pain. Her neck was cracked due to her head being separated from the body, with her throat, veins and all, being visible from the outside. Further ahead on the circular top of the castle was Jake, or what was left of him.
It seems he was trying to grow in size in anger after what had happened to Lady, but he failed. One foot was smashed, similar to Lady's whole hind section, there was a hole in his stomach, showing off his intestines and the many organs within him. His left arm was blown completely off from his shoulder down, it was as if it never existed. Jakes head was also crushed from the left eye up. This was the only area still bleeding against the cold clear ice, making even this horrific scene seem unreal and dream like. Jake was frozen with a look of pain, he wasn't completely frozen when he was mutilated.
Then there was Ice King laughing maniacally as if the death of Finn's family was a joke. As if he was enjoying every moment of it. His skin was a pale blue with his white hair and pointy nose. But his hair was more crazy and unkempt, while his skin looked like ice was growing on it, like it was part of his skin. He didn't look like his old funny awkward old man self, he looked unstable as if he would do anything, and he already did.
"Oh Finn! I didn't see you there…hehehe. Have you seen my daughter? I can't find her anywhere." Ice King slowly started to walk to Finn with a crooked smile and half closed eyes. Finn just stared at the bodies while he was on his knees, he was petrified with disbelief and with horror, he never had to fight someone who killed people so sadistically and evil. But as he slowly made his way to Finn, Finn lost his emotions of despair and sadness, and replaced them with a pure white rage and pure killing intent. He stood up with his weapon with a new expression of anger, an expression that showed the need for revenge.
"ICE KING! I WILL KILL YOU, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!" Finn rushed at Ice King, forgetting all of his combat rules of never rushing at an opponent without knowing his full potential. Finn swung once, but Ice King simply made ice appear to block at, as if it was an immediate defense. Finn didn't stop at one slash, he aimed at the legs, and then he swirled around trying to his the Ice King's back, next was slashing upward from his stomach up, and even a strike at his neck. All of these attacks were blocked by the same immediate ice.
"Having trouble Finn?" Ice King finally spoke up, however Finn jumped back to prepare for any attacks coming his way.
"Ice King…..I will enjoy killing you, you insane fucker!"
"You know what I would like Finn?" Finn didn't answer he just wanted to completely kill him, and make him feel nothing but pain.
"I would like to find my daughter….do you know where she is?" Finn didn't answer again instead rushed one more time, but when the ice blocked him Finn shot out a wave of darkness from his sword knocking Ice King back. Finn didn't give him time to even react, he just ran up to him trying to stab him, and when the ice blocked, he shot darkness at Ice King. He kept on releasing waves of swirling black energy at Ice King until there was a small crater on the floor. Finn was left panting from the barrage of attack he unleashed on the insane Ice King and he shot one more wave at him hoping to have done overkill. The Ice King was now lying on his back in the crater not moving, almost as if he was truly dead.
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!" Finn took his sword and brought it down, only to have it blocked by ice once more. Before Finn could even react he was blasted with ice, and was frozen in place.
"WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER FINN!?" Ice King yelled while charging a bolt of ice at Finn, but before he can shoot it Finn enveloped himself in shadows and disappeared.
"She is somewhere safe. Far away from you, you fucking psychopath." Finn reappears behind Ice king and kicks him to the ground, knocking his crown off.
"Looks like you're powerless now huh?" As Finn was walking to the Ice King, he shot an ice bolt at Finn, while Finn dodged it, it hit the blade of his sword knocking it out of his hand.
"Finn, you will die now hehehe." Finn was getting ready to use Dyrnwyn but almost on cue Princess Bubblegum and Snow appeared.
"Dad!" Snow called out and the Ice King immediately shot around to face his daughter. Snow started to walk to him starting to cry and Ice King was doing the same. But Finn didn't let this chance go to waste, he ran to his Ethereal Darkness, and used its powers to break the Ice incasing the blade, then in less than a second he used the darkness one last time to teleport him in front of the Ice King.
"I told you I'd kill you" said Finn with a face filled with disgust but at the same time emotionless. Finn swung the sword, shooting a humongous wave of darkness that obliterated anything of the castle that was above them, aiming for the Ice King's head.
Hey guys hope you like the chapter, I am trying to make things more deceptive with the help of my friend. I just finished midterms so I was going crazy with studying, sorry I couldn't work on this story sooner.
