From Guest (Guest): "This was awesome! May I has request? If yes, then can you write down what Dipper was thinking while he was standing on the cliff, watching the Gideon robot take her sister away, and show it in his perspective. (I know this really isn't a deleted scene, but please make it. :D)"
Of course! I loved this part in the finale. (These requests don't have to be for deleted scenes, by the way, so it's cool) :)
I totally didn't reference The Fray with this one-shot title... Totally...
Run For Your Life
The impact upon the cliff hit Dipper hard, making him rub the back of his neck in pain as he nearly collided with a large rock near his head. Something wet was dripping down his face but it didn't matter because a familiar annoying laugh reached his ears and he remembered where he was.
Mabel.
He shot to his feet and hurried to the edge of the cliff, watching as the giant Gideon-shaped robot began to walk away with his screaming twin in its clutches. He could make out her words if he strained hard enough.
"DIPPER! HELP ME! HELP!"
A lump of mixed terror and anger rose in his throat. He had to do something. He had to stop Gideon. There was no way that he was going to let that creep take his sister from him.
Yet the aforementioned boy's southern accent wormed its way into his mind as he tried to think of a plan.
Face it kid, you're nothing without that journal. How are you gonna fight then? No muscles. No brains. What are you gonna do, huh? What are you gonna do?
The words shouldn't have affected him so badly that he froze where he stood and stared down blankly at the retreating robot. It was true though. He had no muscles to boast, he wasn't as smart as he acted, and without the journal his mind was whipped into a frenzy of confusion and panic. What was he supposed to do? Try and fight the robot with his bare hands? Try and distract Gideon long enough for his sister to wriggle free?
Dipper was useless. His lower lip quivered. How could he possibly defeat Gideon without the help of his journal?
The boy, much to his own chagrin, turned his back on the terrible scene and walked into the forest with a heavy heart. A drop of red fell onto the ground in front of him and he realized his nose was bleeding from the impact moments ago. Guilt gnawed at his insides, but he didn't know what to do. Maybe he'd be able to find help if he hurried back to town.
No, they'd likely never believe him. Nobody believed him whenever he talked about the supernatural, save for Soos, Wendy, and Mabel.
This stopped the preteen cold and he ran over his thoughts once more in his head. Nobody but Soos, Wendy, and Mabel.
Mabel wouldn't give up when he needed her most.
She believed in him more than anybody, and now he was about to let her down.
Eyebrows furrowing, Dipper turned and charged out of the forest back the way he came, wiping the blood off of his nose. He gave a fierce cry and - feeling both incredibly stupid and extremely angry because his thoughts were a blur of LET HER GO YOU HURT HER LET MABEL GO HOW DARE YOU LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE! - leapt off of the cliff's edge. The Gideon-bot swiveled around, seeming stunned to find a furious preteen boy sailing towards it, and was knocked down as Dipper tackled the blond boy inside of its mechanical head.
"LET GO OF MY SISTER!"
"Never! I've finally won this time!"
As a fist fight ensued, neither one of them noticed how a certain brown-haired girl clinging to the now limp robotic hand was smiling wide for a brief moment.
Short again, oops, but I still love this moment.
