From Lea Valdez (through PM): " I was wondering whether you could do a scene from the episode Tourist Trapped, but the scene would be where Dipper and Mabel are riding on the bus from Piedmont to Gravity Falls. I remembered Mabel mentioning Bus Seat Treasure Hunt and thought of that"

Sorry I took so long to get to you! I love this idea, and I'll definitely do it! (Just imagine Mabel bugging her brother the entire time haha) Enjoy!

Buried Treasure

"Are we there yet?"

"No."

"...Are we there yet?"

"No, Mabel."

"...Are we there yet?"

"...Yes."

"Wait, really?"

"NO!"

Mabel groaned and flopped over, her head in her younger twin's lap. "But it's been so long! I ate all of my gummy koalas ages ago!"

"It's a long bus ride, Mabel," Dipper reminded her, trying not to feel annoyed at the fact that he couldn't finish his summer reading with his sister interrupting him every minute. "Gravity Falls is in Oregon, and we live in California."

"But it's a whole state away!"

It was Dipper's turn to groan now. He was growing bored too, but he had been hoping reading would cure him of this.

The boy glanced toward the front of the bus and noticed an older man with graying hair and a suit sitting a few rows from them. A small smirk lit up his face as an idea formed in his head.

"Hey, Mabel..."

"Yeah?"

"See that guy up there?"

She frowned and lifted her head high enough to peek over the seat. "Yeah. Why?"

He shot her a meaningful look and his sister's eyes lit up with mischief. She wadded up a piece of paper from inside her suitcase and peeked over the top of the seat again before chucking it at the man's head. The two of them burst out laughing and ducked behind the seats again as the man turned, annoyance and anger on his face.

"Did you see his face?"

"That was hilarious!"

The twins laughed for another minute, not daring to look over the bus seat again in case that man was still searching for them.

"Hey, want to play bus seat treasure hunt?" Mabel asked in a whisper, a wide smile forming on her face.

Dipper glanced at his book and then at his sister's bright expression, letting out a sigh. He could always finish his summer reading later. It wasn't like Gravity Falls was going to be very interesting, after all. According to the research he had done on the small town, there was hardly anything to do there.

"Sure, why not?"

"Great!" His twin plopped her rear onto his seat and lifted away the cushion beside them. "I think this piece of gum looks like Lincoln's hat."

"Nah, it looks more like his face."

Mabel giggled and he smiled a little. Maybe he could survive the bus ride after all.

Inspiration for this one-shot was taken from Shrek 2 (the first few sentences) and limey404's comic (check out their tumbler, they're seriously awesome). Also, I can definitely relate due to my own experiences in road trips.
