Secrets of the Night

DISCLAIMER: I Do NOT own Pokemon!

Chapter 64: The Outsider

Saffron City Pokemon Center

Morning the following day, Kiba waited anxiously by the window of his rented room in the center. It had been very a long day yesterday and an even longer night when he found out Bane couldn't wake up. Even after Nurse Joy looked him over, there was nothing they could do to remedy the circumstances.

Having not been able to sleep, worrying that the younger assassin, Ikari, would come back for him, Kiba made a late night call to a friend of his to transfer over his last pokemon who had been recovering since their battle with Scourge. He felt he had a long journey ahead. Not knowing if he'd be able to make contact with the world once he reached the assassin's island, he wanted to have as many of his pokemon with him as possible to help better his odds of survival.

A knock sounded on the door, making Kiba flinch. He cursed himself for being jumpy after yesterday's encounter.

"Who is it?" Kiba called out, struggling to keep his tone level.

"Morning hubby!" An enthusiastic and playful voice replied.

Kiba took a deep breath before looking back down at Bane's sleeping form. Someone was going to pay. Before opening the door, he put on his vest over his upper torso and opened the door, revealing the girl with the short red hair from the day before smiling up at him.

"Where is he?" Kiba asked Leiko immediately, ignoring her playful banter.

Leiko pouted and tilted her head blankly. "Who?"

"You know who!" Kiba nearly snarled as he stepped aside to show Bane's sleeping form. "I've fed him every Chesto concoction I could think of and even the Nurses haven't been able to wake him up. Where. Is. He?"

The redhead was not at all shaken by the situation. She merely shifted her body to one side and thrust a thumb pointing towards the staircase leading downwards. Not waiting for her to move out of his way, Kiba brushed passed the assassin, ignoring the fact that she probably could have killed him several times from the brief contact as he made his way downstairs in search for Ikari.

He quickly found him sitting laxly in a chair with his lilac scarf wrapped around a black egg that rested on his lap and an ebony wolf-like pokemon curled up near his feet. Kiba stormed towards him, alerting the Mightyena who quickly got up and snarled fiercely at him.

"Why won't he wake up?" Kiba demanded angrily, ignoring the Mightyena growling at him.

"A precaution." Ikari replied, keeping a protective hand on the egg and a steady one on his four-legged companion. "In case you'd run away…"

"I gave you my word I'd go with you," Kiba snarled as he restrained from tossing two of his pokeballs at the assassin and his canine. "Or is the threat of death not usually enough for aspiring assassins?"

Ikari didn't reply but simply slid off a necklace with a prismatic crescent feather at the end. "Just wave it over your pokemon."

Kiba hesitated for a moment before grabbing the necklace from Ikari, careful to not touch the boy in anyway lest his pokemon deem it a threat. Walking back upstairs to his room, he passed Leiko and did as Ikari had said and waved the feather over Bane.

His Scizor's eyes opened slowly at first before shooting open at the sight of being in an unknown room. Still groggy from the forced sleep, Bane tried to shoot up and strike at anyone in his way until Kiba held the insectoid down gaining its attention.

"Calm down," Kiba said in a stern yet calm tone as Bane looked towards its trainer. It hummed worriedly until it eyed Leiko suspiciously. Kiba noticed his pokemon's sudden desire to rip into the potential enemy and had to calm him down with forceful words. "Not here, not now," he said plainly. "We wouldn't survive even if we tried. Just relax."

Bane acknowledged its trainer's words and calmed down as it stood up from the bed; eyeing the female assassin suspiciously as it took a position between her and Kiba.

"Ready to go?" Leiko asked as she leaned against the door frame, seemingly unaware of the exchange Kiba had with his Scizor.

Kiba stood up from his seat and pocketed the necklace as he grabbed his sole bag carrying all of his possessions. "Are we flying to your island? Or teleporting again?" He asked curiously as he put on his gloves and headband.

"It's too far to Teleport. We're flying to the nearest waters and surfing from there," Leiko informed, shifting to her full height and walking downstairs.

Kiba followed her down the stairs after returning Bane to his pokeball to find Leiko and Ikari conversing silently together as he made his way towards them.

"I don't have any water pokemon, so I'll have to fly the entire way," Kiba warned as he grabbed Arrow's pokeball from his belt.

Leiko cast a doubtful look at the older boy's pokeball. "Think your Pidgey can handle it? It's farther than you think. Many of the pokemon we use are trained to endure long distances especially the ones that are purposely for transport." She cast a sly smile as a glimmer passed her amber eyes. "You can always ride with me, hubby~"

"I'll keep that in mind, darling," Kiba assured her as he tossed Arrow's pokeball in his hand casually. "But my Fearow is a power flier in nature, and he's due for a long workout after the tournament."

Leiko shrugged in mild disappointment before stepping outside, leaving Kiba and Ikari behind. The two boys stared at each other as the atmosphere between them plummeted dangerously. Kiba reached into his pocket and held out the feathered pendant for Ikari.

"Next time a simple 'we'll be watching' would have worked." Kiba glared as he handed the necklace back to its owner.

Ikari swiped it back with his freehand as the other still cradled the egg. He then wordlessly brushed past him with his Mightyena trailing behind, casting a short glare before catching up with Ikari.

Such a cheery pair, Kiba thought to himself with a sneer as he went outside after Leiko.

Upon his arrival, Ikari was well out of sight and Leiko had already called out her Mandibuzz and was preparing it for the flight ahead. With a flick of his wrist, Kiba sent out Arrow who extended his wings upon his release as he looked toward Kiba awaiting instructions. Reaching into his bag, Kiba pulled out a leather saddle that was small enough to fit between a Fearow's wings right below its neck while also giving it the needed muscle usage for evasive flying.

"Try to keep up, hubby~" Leiko winked at him and took off.

Kiba allowed a small smile to cross his lips as he signaled for Arrow to take off; with a single powerful downstroke the two were in the air and quickly closing in on Leiko and her Mandibuzz until they were caught up to the pair after only a few seconds.

"So where to darling?" Kiba asked as he motioned for Arrow to maintain speed with the other avian.

"Vermillion City's the closest to water but if you're planning to fly all the way, then we can head towards Cinnabar and then to the Sevii Islands and then I'll lead from there," Leiko explained.

"Cinnabar huh? And I thought this would be a long flight. Try not to fall behind, darling!" With a single nudge of his foot Arrow flapped its massive wings, gaining speed, and quickly passed the Vulture pokemon as they headed south towards Cinnabar.

"He does know that we're not stopping at all, right?" Leiko questioned her vulture-like pokemon as she cawed a reply. "He'll find out eventually…"

The two flew for hours until they caught the sight of the volcanic island of Cinnabar. Kiba was pleased to see that Arrow didn't seem tired from the treck to Cinnabar and was even more impressed to see that Leiko had managed to stay close by throughout the entire flight. Upon arriving above Cinnabar Kiba kept Arrow flying in place as he waited for Leiko.

"So where to from here?" He asked. "I've never been to these Sevii Islands before."

"Sevii Islands is just south of Kanto. There are about seven to nine islands there," Leiko answered thoughtfully. "From there, we just continue to head southeast. We should be there before nightfall. Mid-afternoon if we're lucky."

"How will we know when we're close?" Kiba asked curiously.

"You'll know it when you see it," Leiko replied mischievously.

It took another long while for them to reach the Sevii Archipelago. In the clear blue skies, the pristine oceans below them glistened in the sun as islands of various sizes littered the surface. At this point Arrow was beginning to pant from the constant flying; normally a flight lasting hours wouldn't have been a problem, but they had encountered a powerful ocean breeze current that made flight difficult for the two avians. Leiko's Mandibuzz seemed used to the currents but Arrow, not use to flying over nothing but water for hours on end, was on its last set of wings as they approached the Sevii Archipelago.

"Arrow's running on empty here, any chance we can land for a few minutes?" Kiba asked.

"You asking me for a date on the beach?" Leiko giggled and looked down at the islands with white sands on the shoreline. "We can land but like I said, we need to continue moving. My Mandibuzz can't carry us both so... Surf's up!"

The two pokemon flew down to the ground each in their own ways. Leiko's Mandibuzz had managed to land gently on the ground leaving minor prints in the sand stating it had been there while Kiba's Fearow nearly fell to the ground only to save them both with a powerful thrust just before they hit the ground. Kiba dismounted and unsaddled Arrow as his pokemon took in deep and labored breaths.

"You wasted too much energy in those air currents," Kiba chastised as he returned the saddle into the bag. "We don't usually fly this far over sea level but you need to control your energy better."

Arrow cawed tiredly, showing that it understood as Kiba started massaging the muscles on Fearow's wings before returning him to his pokeball. Leiko watched them momentarily before recalling her Mandibuzz.

"So would you like a fast ride? Or do you prefer to take our time?" Leiko asked as she walked over towards the glistening waters. "Just so you know, the fast ride is sort of a one-person thing so you have to hold on to me, hubby~" She gave a flirtatious wink.

"Dealers choice, darling," Kiba replied with a small smile after stretching out his back which had gone stiff from flying. "Although I'm curious to what pokemon you have that can swim through these ocean currents.

"This one!" Leiko enthusiastically sent out her pokemon and it materialized by the watery edge. It was a torpedo shaped pokemon with a tall dorsal fin, blood red eyes and a whole set of sharp teeth that glimmered in the sun. Leiko glanced back at Kiba and smiled proudly. "Isn't he sweet?"

The Sharpedo gave an airy snarl as he bared its teeth at Kiba, who inwardly cringed at the hungry expression on the pokemon's face.

"Has he… uh, eaten lately?" Kiba asked worriedly as he made sure to stay away from the water's edge.

"Oh, he can eat on the way~" Leiko shrugged him off and walked over to the shark-like pokemon, stepping on his back like a person mounting on a jetski. With her hands holding on to the fin, she smiled at the boy. "Ready to go?"

The Sharpedo opened his jaws as another airy snarl sounded off more as if challenging Kiba to come closer. Kiba weighed his options regarding the Sharpedo and finally his survival instincts had gotten the better of his desire to hold close to an attractive red head.

"You know on second thought… maybe we could take our time? It would give us the chance to get to know each other better," he added with a charming smile of his own.

Leiko quickly jumped off her Sharpedo and beamed at him. "Oh hubby, you're such a romantic~" She then returned her pokemon to his pokeball and brought out a black whistle. "This is a standard whistle given to each division." She pressed her lips against the tip and blew a high pitched sound that was nearly inaudible.

Silence.

The crashing waves echoed through the atmosphere as Leiko watched the waters patiently. Kiba was about to question the use of the whistle but then a wall of water burst forth from the open sea, revealing a massive Wailord that greeted them with a water spout. Leiko gingerly moved out of the way, leaving Kiba to be partly drenched by the salty shower.

The reddish brown-haired young man stood there for a moment before spitting out the salty water that had snuck into his mouth while also coughing up what water went down his nose.

"Thanks for the warning," Kiba said sarcastically as he cleared his throat.

"No problem, hubby!" Leiko walked up the Wailord and mounted on its back. She then laid on her belly and waited for her companion.

Kiba was quick to follow her onto the Wailord's back but not before shoving his now drenched vest and shirt into his bag revealing his toned and scarred chest. It was then only a matter of seconds before he climbed up the Wailord's side and sat down beside the red headed assassin.

"Ready when you are," he said casually.

Leiko stared at him with a hungry smile as she wordlessly patted the whale's back. The Wailord let out an echoing cry and moved away from the shore to the deeper waters.

Time continued to pass as the fragrant ocean breeze enveloped their senses and caws of Wingulls reverberated overhead. After a few long hours, Leiko decided to break the silence as she cast a sly glance at Kiba.

"Before. When you battled Ikari, you said if you'd win, you have something to ask of me. What was it?"

Kiba's expression turned stony at the mention of his battle with Ikari but Leiko could tell that that wasn't the only reason that his mood dropped suddenly. "You watched me in the tournament right? You remember that Shiny Drapion I fought in the final round?"

"Oh yeah~ I saw it. It was pretty hard to miss." Leiko replied, recalling the red Drapion with the many scars.

"Well before the tournament, it was my pokemon. I caught it in Sinnoh and lost three pokemon trying to capture it, and another was gravely injured. Through a series of unfortunate events, my opponent managed to catch it after it broke its pokeball. I was going to ask that you steal it back for me."

"Is that so?" Leiko sat up and pondered over it. "That would have been an easy task but… Considering the guy who has the Drapion now, I doubt it."

"What do you mean?" Kiba asked confused. "What's to doubt?"

"Oh hubby~ That boy right now is untouchable to us, assassins, hence why Ikari is keeping close track of him," Leiko answered as she stretched her arms upward. "Other than the fact his guardian set solid restrictions, Master Tristan has other plans for him."

"So wait… you're a group of assassins who can't kill someone because of this guardian?" Kiba asked astonished. "Why can't you just kill the Guardian first and then whoever he was protecting?"

Leiko jolted back, much to Kiba's surprise. "That would be a reeeeeeeally bad idea, hubby. It's one thing to mess with another member from a division, which is sort of like a law already. It's another matter entirely if you want to mess with one of the head honchos."

"So wait, that brat is being protected by one of your island's leaders?"

"I heard that the guy retired but he still holds a strong place in Semira," the redhead shrugged. "It's kind of long to go into details. Hmm… how about I explain to you some of the basics? I don't want you to go in blindly."

"I'd appreciate that," Kiba said with a nod, sitting up.

"First of all, the island is not just composed of assassins. We're only one out of six divisions." Leiko began. "We have the Sky division. They're the ones usually training our flying transport. They have more connections all over the world compared to the others and they function as delivery guys of the most undercover operations. We have Saber, the sword-wielders. Your brat's guardian is from there. We assassins are versed in various weapons but our goals are different. You can think of them as bodyguards of sorts, just like the other division, the Warrior unit, but they prefer hand-to-hand combat. Then we have the Rosette and the Gambit unit. They specialize in herbs, concoctions and whatever voodoo they do. haha… And lastly there's us. Black Scythe division. The first group ever created before everyone branched out with different ideals, leading to the other five's creation." Leiko gave a huff and slumped against the back of the Wailord. "And that's the end of Semira 101. Class dismissed."

"If you ask me," Kiba said laying back down on the Wailord's back. "It sounds like the Black Scythe unit became too powerful and people from within the cell got scared and made your other 'divisions.'"

"Hmmm… Well, that's all old school. It doesn't really matter." Leiko yawned. "What you need to remember is who you are addressing when you are there. People are exactly what they seem. Bump a guy in the hall and shoot him some insults, you might just find yourself at the wrong end of a blade. But don't worry. It doesn't happen that often."

"Lucky me," Kiba sighed as he looked up to the darkening sky as the stars started to shine down at them. "So your island, Semira, it's clearly home to a hefty amount of people- and I'm assuming they all have pokemon or some special items to give them an edge, where do they get it all?"

Leiko laughed lightly. "From people like your brat. Rich nobles like them hire little people like us. It's been that way for generations. Heck. We're back to history lessons." She groaned in exasperation. "Well, it started like that. Nowadays, the island can function on its own. We have a wide diversity of pokemon living there and other civilized stuff like a power plant, a trading post. yada yada yada…"

"So you're well equipped then," Kiba stated as he made a mental note to look for one of the pokemon he marked on his encyclopedia. "Alright just one more question, and then you can ask me whatever you want."

"Shoot, hubby~"

"You said that your master wanted me to come to Semira to join your unit, the Black Scythes, but you never told me why. Other than the fact that my battle style is similar to yours. Why go to all this trouble? It'd be easier just to train people back home wouldn't it?"

"Oh, we do train people. Ikari is a prime example but he's kind of like a legacy," Leiko answered, extending a hand and trailing the stars with a finger. "We usually recruit around 13-15 year olds but we make exceptions sometimes. Master Tristan just has an eye for people. He thinks you're… interesting."

"Huh," Kiba said plainly, unsure if being special in this case was a good or a bad thing. He decided that it would just be something he'd have to wait and see. "Well a deal's a deal; anything you want to ask me?"

The redhead rolled over so she could lie on her belly. "What do you think makes you interesting?" She asked in a teasing tone, her legs swaying back in forth in the air.

"Me?" Kiba asked surprised by the question. "I don't think I'm interesting at all. I never stay in one place for more than a few weeks. I sleep outside when I can, away from the cities, and I do whatever I have to to survive… it's been like that for most of my life," he added almost quietly.

"Survival, huh?" Leiko quoted and stood up, her gaze focused in the distance. "Shall I test that out?"

Kiba sat up and looked at Leiko uneasily, suddenly worried that he had been taken this far out into the ocean with his only pokemon capable of getting him away too tired to fly so that he could be killed and thrown into the ocean.

"And by that you mean…?"

Leiko tapped the Wailord with her foot and the giant blue pokemon let out a long echoing cry. The surface rocked suddenly and the ocean waters gradually grew closer. It was obvious. The Wailord was diving. Leiko threw a pokeball in the air and she jumped off. As soon as her Mandibuzz materialized, the vulture-like pokemon swooped in and caught her trainer by the arms.

"See you at the western side of the island, hubby~" Leiko laughed as she gradually flew away from the sinking Wailord. "And don't worry! If you can't fly or swim, I'll lend you my Sharpedo!" She sent out her brutal pokemon which plunged into the darkening waters, disappearing from sight. With a satisfied nod and a playful wave, she flew ahead.

Not trusting his chances in the water with Leiko's Sharpedo, Kiba had no choice but to call out Arrow once again who thankfully understood the situation and grabbed his trainer before the Wailord had completely submerged and flew him towards the shadowy landmass that floated in the midst of the ocean.

It took a while but they reached the shoreline. Upon landing, Kiba returned Arrow and threw another pokeball onto the ground. Upon opening, a single-horned dull pink pokemon appeared, standing on all fours, shaking its body readily before looking around expectantly. It stopped at the sight of its trainer and approached him obediently. The pokemon roared in greeting as Kiba scratched its head.

"Tyrant, West," Kiba instructed simply. The Nidorino immediately took in its position before heading off in what Kiba now knew was the western direction.

Night had began to descend, enveloping the forest landscape in eerie shadows. The sounds of bug-types echoed in the chilling wind as the rustling noises sounded off in various directions. Kiba continued to follow his Nidorino's lead until they reached what appeared to be a swamp. It was too hard for a heavy pokemon like Tyrant to cross the dark waters or walk across the roots of the mangroves growing around.

Cursing at the terrain, Kiba and his Nidorino decided to find a different way to cross, possibly a fallen tree of some sort. With darkness descending fast, his survival instincts were sending off warning signals. He was in the middle of nowhere in an island that was possibly swarming with assassins. For all he knew, he was being watched at that very moment. It was the worst possible scenario.

A rumble reverberated through his ears. Kiba jumped as his Nidorino took on a fighting stance in front of him. The rumbling continued. Nothing stirred. Tyrant looked up at his trainer and frowned. Kiba met the Nidorino's stare and heard the rumble for the third time. His mouth hung agape when he realized where it was coming from. When did he last eat?

"And I thought Loudreds were loud…"

It was a male voice. Young. Kiba was immediately on the defensive as he grabbed one of the pokeballs on his belt. Tyrant's ears flickered around listening for where the voice came from.

He pointed to his left where they saw four small beady indigo eyes shining through the dark. "Somethings tells me you're not from around here, are you?

"What gave it away?" Kiba asked as his Pokemon growled at the hidden form.

"Don't be so loud. You'll wake some of the sleeping pokemon here. And trust me, you don't want that."

"Don't tell me what I don't want to do," Kiba said In a cold undertone as he kept his eyes open while Tyrant stared down the four eyed being. "You'll only disappoint yourself when I do the exact opposite."

The four beady eyes were soon accompanied by two bigger ones on either side of the four. "Well, outsider, for one you're wandering in a place where you shouldn't be. Two, if you are from around here, you're not supposed to be that hostile."

All six eyes vanished in the shadows. A rustle in the trees above them. Kiba had lost sight of whatever it was that had been watching them and was looking around hectically. Tyrant was also searching as its massive ears worked to catch a sound from the watcher.

"Big talk from someone hiding in the shadows," Kiba taunted hoping the voice would speak up again so Tyrant could find him. "Why don't you come on down so we can talk like civilized people. Or is the... Gambit division always this rude to visitors?" Kiba asked randomly picking a name that he remembered Leiko using earlier.

"Oh? So you do you know where you are!" A spiky-haired blonde came down from the treetops but he didn't touch the ground, instead, he hovered a couple of feet away. Despite the darkness, Kiba could tell he was quite younger than him and he had light blue eyes, a different shade that those that were watching him earlier, not to mention they weren't multiple. "So which division are you from? If you're from the Gambit unit like me, then you're seriously a noob… Even if you have a Nidorino."

Tyrant snarled at the comment but instantly calmed when Kiba raised his hand to silence him.

"Let's say that a red head from the Black Scythe division wanted to see if I was all talk or not," Kiba said plainly as he looked around for the Pokemon the kid had to of been riding. "You mind telling me which way is west? Tyrant's too heavy for the swamp here and I'd rather not carry him," Kiba joked hoping to lighten the tension.

The blonde's eyes widen at the mention of the Black Scythe division as his hands gripped the strap of what appeared to be a yellow backpack. But after the swamp comment, the kid smirked and eased his hold on the bulky straps. "Swamp? Then you're seriously lost."

"Look, all I know about where I am is that I was riding a Wailord and the broad made it dive and told me to meet her in the west. Between you and me- I'm tired, hungry, and tempted to fish for whatever the heck I can find in the swamp just to shut my stomach up. Any chance you can just point me in the right direction?"

"First, tell me who exactly are you?" The dangling teen inquired, his arms crossed and brow raised. "Cause if you're from the Black Scythe, then you're a poor excuse for an assassin, seeing as you entered Trickster's Labyrinth with little knowledge of how to get out. If I think you're telling me the truth, I might just help you. If not..."

Kiba's first instinct was to release Bane and have him hold the blonde kid by the neck until he agreed to help him. But remembering what Leiko had told him he took a few breath and decided to play it straight.

"My names Kiba," he said before gesturing to his Pokemon. "That's Tyrant. And I'm technically not a part of the Black Scythe unit; I was told I peaked a Master Tristan's interest and was supposed to be brought to meet him. That was before I was dumped in the middle of the ocean and flew here to head West. I honesty don't know where the heck I am."

"Huh… Sounds about right." The boy pondered and clapped his hands thrice. Then little balls of yellow light appeared in the treetops. The swamp was gone and many of the trees faded away. It appeared as if they were in a normal forest with dry solid soil all along. "As you can see, there's no swamp. The pokemon just deemed you an intruder and lured you in. Fortunately, I was patrolling the area… Mind you though. Getting to Senka Island is more difficult that you think. Considering your current state."

"Current state?" Kiba asked curiously.

With a snap, an apple fell to the boy's hand and he started munching on it mockingly. The pangs of Kiba's stomach started to growl angrily in reply. "Should I say more?" He tossed the half-eaten apple back in the treetops and after a few seconds, it fell to Kiba's feet, nothing more than a core.

Kiba felt anger course through his body as he picked up the core, hungry enough to chew on what was left just to fill his stomach and stop it from growling. Instead he tossed it to Tyrant who ate it happily as he chewed on the core.

"Just tell me which way to this Senka place," Kiba said tiredly as he looked back to the blonde.

"Hey… I'm telling you, you're in over your head here." The blonde informed. "To get to Senka Island, you need to pass another division base. If you get through the maze, you're gonna have to scale a canyon. If you fly, it would be easier but if you're caught by the air patrol, I don't think they hesitate to swat you down like a Yanma. So… I'm giving you a choice: Ask for my help, but with a cost or make your way on your own." He snapped again and the lights disappeared, shrouding the their surroundings once again in looming shadows.

"What cost?" Kiba asked losing patience quickly with the cocky blonde kid.

"You're an outsider. What do you have in the bag?" The kid snickered, hovering a little higher, eyeing the bag that the older had. "Honestly, I'm a city kid. There isn't much to come by at my rank so I get what I can… Be grateful that I didn't tie you up and take the bag for myself... That is an option though."

Chittering sounds reverberated overhead, indicating the kid was not alone. Given all the glowing balls earlier, Kiba could tell there were a lot of pokemon. Opening his bag he slowly pulled out everything from within: Arrow's saddle, his wet clothes, some extra pokeballs and a dark stone that shimmered like the moon. At the sight of the stone Tyrant immediately perked up and started shaking anxiously.

"I travel light," Kiba explained as he looked for the Pokemon above to the boy.

"Hmmm… Not much, huh?" The kid seemed disappointed. He eyed the stone but he glanced at the Nidorino and decided against it. "The extra pokeballs would do. Not that you're gonna need them soon." As quick as he said those words, webs shot forth from the trees and pluck the capsules away.

"I'm loving this trust between us man," Kiba said sarcastically as he put his belongings back into the bag minus the moon stone. "Normally people get to know me first. You mind?" He asked gesturing to his Pokemon with the stone.

"Make one move, you might just regret it," the kid warned as many pairs of indigo eyes shone in the treetops. The chittering noises grew louder. It would have been more threatening if the voices weren't so cutesy. "That tying you up thing, sounds tempting right now…"

Kiba sighed and returned the glistening stone back into his bag shooting his Pokemon a slight apologetic stare before looking back to the blonde. "So are you going to help me or not?"

"Hey, I did say I would." The kid grinned and landed on the ground, the straps of his backpack shifting unusually. With another three-clap, the woods lit up again, dispelling the illusion of the shadows. Then with a snap, an apple fell on Kiba's head and dropped to the ground, making the blonde snicker.

Groaning, Kiba picked up the apple and saw a small yellow arachnid attached to the fruit.

"Looks like you've got an infestation problem," Kiba said tiredly.

"Thirteen. Off." The yellow bug jumped and scurried back to the trees where it lit up like the rest of its possee. The blonde sighed. "Sorry. The kids are still a handful. But they're really smart." He glanced behind him. "Right, Brain?" A louder chittering cry replied as the straps on the blonde kid moved.

Kiba took two massive bites from the apple before tossing the rest to Tyrant as he holstered the bag over his shoulder. "Well if that's all my balls were worth to you, we're leaving." He walked past the blonde with Tyrant at his heel.

"Hey! Wait a minute! Don't think I'm all talk!" The kid once again took to the air and started swinging with nearly invisible thread holding him up. "I said I'd help, right?" He turned to the trees. "Three, Nine, Fifteen, Twenty-one, light the signal, would you?" Four glowing balls promptly dimmed and disappeared from sight. "I'll get a friend of mine. He's probably flying around here at this time… And if you want more food, you can just ask."

Another snap of the kid's fingers, an apple fell once again but Kiba caught it prepared. "I'll keep that in mind," he responded as he tossed the apple to Tyrant before continuing to walk on.

The trees suddenly swayed violently as the sound of beating wings boomed through the air. An ear-splitting screech sounded but then in a single moment, everything stilled. Kiba looked up but saw nothing more than darkness.

A purple blur popped out and flew passed him and lunged for the younger boy, tackling him to the ground where he landed on his rear and his apparent backpack crawled off and the big yellow arachnid crawled to his side. "Noir! Could you guys do it more subtly?"

"Kirian." Another young male's voice came from the trees in front of Kiba. "What is it this time?" A second teen jumped down, revealing his silver eyes, raven-black hair, blue scarf and matching clothes. He narrowed his eyes at Kiba and stood his ground. "Who's this?"

"Says he's Kiba. An outsider Lord Tristan has picked up and thrown into the island," Kirian, as the second teen had referred to him, informed as he pried the purple bat off his head. "He's headed to Senka Island. Could you…?"

The silver-eyed teen glared at Kiba cautiously. "Who are you?" He demanded.

"Tired and quickly losing patience," Kiba said before pulling out one of his pokeballs. "Just keep the night lights going for another ten minutes and I'll fly my way to Senka. I'm tired of kids treating me like an infant." Kiba walked past the newest arrival as Tyrant followed growling at the black-haired kid momentarily before following his trainer.

"Kirian, just leave him be. He's got your little brain cells guiding him. Whether he passes out halfway, it's not our problem," the second kid deadpanned and scaled one of the trees, once again disappearing from the scene with a loud beat of wings.

"Geez…" Kirian sighed and looked around. Kiba was gone as well as Noir. Not to mention, his Galvantula's horde of kids. "Fine! Leave me here by my freakin' self!" He groaned and patted his giant tarantula who sighed nonchalantly.

Kiba arrives at Semira. How will his appearance affect the fate of the island?
Review and you'll see! It's Semira's major turning point!

This chapter and the future ones are by me and Dead Bones Sam (Written in a Role play fashion)

About Kirian, it was a completely random idea. Brain his 30 kids (which I refer to Braincells).
The female Galvantula is supposedly a wild one (but I named her in my head. Cerebella)

There will be a few chapters featuring some of the OCs (Just to catch up on their lives)
Some family fluff (Faye & Maya. Corbin)
Some romance and intense action (CorentinxAspen)

Read and Review! The chapters are already written.
I'll post either every 2-3 days. Depends... Hehehe.
Thanks again to all my readers and reviewers.
