Chapter 27: The Rising

'There is a saying that dreams can haunt you if it was chilling or even terrifying enough and while some dreams are just that, a dream, those memories can come back to haunt you, thus turning into a living nightmare. The twins were able to escape one nightmare in their small town, but they will soon find out that another nightmare is just rising….

~(Catherine's P.O.V.)~

Since being brought back to this reality, I went into hiding deep in the forest so to avoid from being seen by anyone, including those who betrayed me! A little cabin in the middle of nowhere that looked as if it were once inhabited, but has been long abandoned, heh, my kind of place. Since 'moving in' here, I was able to fix it up to make it livable to my liking as those who lived here before me had no taste in design or even décor. Well, I guess all it needed was a woman's touch, or should I say, Catherine's touch!

While being in hiding all of this time, I was also able to keep my appearance up. Just because I am a clone made purely of paper and ink doesn't mean I shouldn't look my absolute best. I'm a girl after all right? I was able to steal a few beauty supplies from nearby stores and a few stylish outfits from a clothing store that caught my attention since being recreated. If I do say so myself, I do have great taste in clothes. I had to pull off the perfect heist so to make sure my darling sister didn't get blamed for shop lifting. While that is something I normally wouldn't give any thought to, I have much bigger plans in mind and if Mabel got blamed for my crime, that would ruin everything! I no longer want to take her place as the real Mabel Pines, oh no, those plans just won't do anymore. I have much bigger plans in store! The perfect plans that I know are fail proof!

Since "moving" into my temporary space, I've had plenty of time to plot on how to get my revenge on those who betrayed me, Gideon being the first on my list. How dare he lie and use me? He stabbed me in the back and twisted the knife all while I stood there and took it while feeding into his lies! Of course he wasn't alone as Mabel was there acting as if she didn't know a thing about his little plans. He used me and I let him like a fool!

But that's alright, that's ok because I now have something that he doesn't and I hope it hits him like a rock! As I glace at the pictures of the classic Mabel and that back stabber Gideon that I have taped to the fire place, I feel a chuckle escape my throat. I can't believe at one point I actually saw these two as a threat to me, well Mabel mainly. I had the opportunity to squash her like a bug at my fingertips, and while I could have, I had one too many flies in my way that stopped me. So much power, but not enough time or space to wield it all. Well no more and never again will I let them get the best of me! Catherine is in charge now!

With a snap of my fingers, both pictures now combust into a blue fiery blaze, instantly turning to ash that piles onto the floor in front of my high heeled feet. Such a pity those were only pictures…

Oh yes, I've had plenty of time to think and plot with the help of this lovely '2' journal. While Gideon thought he had the upper hand over me, I managed to get this away from him while he was so preoccupied with still trying to win over Mabel classic. Now I truly know the meaning of the phrase "love can make one blind to reality". Well that certainly speaks volumes about Gideon now doesn't it?

However, I can't wait to see the look on his face when he finds out that I have his little ol' book and plan to use every bit of it against him! So I'm thinking I'll start small and then work my way up. Or maybe I'll go with my original idea of forming my clone army first and have my army take care of those pests. Decisions, decisions.

But the greatest part of my plan is my newly designed Onyx amulet that matches my new little black dress and my newly fashioned black hair. I say it accents my new look perfectly. After all, my plans no long involve me wanting to look like Mabel classic and to pull off my newly made plans, I had to switch it up a bit, and switching it up is exactly what I did.

Eloquently waltzing to the full body mirror next to the fully burning fireplace, I see my newly created appearance staring back at me. If I do say so myself, I did one heck of job fixing myself up and with my new amulet, gives me more of a mysterious and alluring appearance. I am stunning and now that I think about it, I may give Gideon a chance to redeem himself if he agrees to work for me, or better yet, if he ever wants to see his precious journal again! I want him to know what it's like to be stabbed in the back while someone is twisting the knife right before his very eyes! I'd take much pleasure in seeing that!

But one thing is for sure, I'm back and more powerful than ever! With the help of journal '2', my plans will be fail proof and I have Gideon's book to thank for it all. Not to mention my newly created onyx amulet that will aim in my take over with the best part being, no one will see me coming! Not even that little snoop, Dipper!

~(Normal Narration: Gleeful Residence)~

Gideon's room is in complete disarray, the chubby boy having searched high and low for his missing journal.

"Where is it?!" Gideon continues panicking as he rips through his bedroom closet in search of the maroon book. "It was sitting on the desk when I last left it and don't remember moving it anywhere else in this room! How could it have gotten away from me in that area?! I never lose that book!"

Having searched his now destroyed bedroom closet, Gideon runs over to the desk and flips it over, the piece of furniture that wasn't already apart of the disarray or destroyed, Gideon begins searching for the journal through the destroyed remains of the crude mystery shack "play set".

"I couldn't have lost it! I just couldn't have!" Gideon continues panicking. "Goodness gracious, if that book falls into the wrong hands, I'm done for! This entire town is done for! Where could it have gone? Why is this happening to me?!"

Continuing to search for the book through his destroyed room in areas in which he has already searched, an ominous sound now catches the chubby boy's ears with him suddenly perking up, his search for the book instantly being forgotten. The sounds now becomes clear with Gideon immediately recognizing it to be the echoes of dark maniacal laughter belonging to a past defeat that ended in victory. Continuing to listen to the demonic laughter, Gideon's heart now sinks with him swallowing the lump in his throat hard.

"Oh no." Gideon calmly speaks. "That laugh, it sounds…familiar, very familiar. But it can't be, it just can't be!"

Outside of the boy's residence and into the clear night sky that overlooks the entire town, a shadowy outline of Catherine's face now forms, the three star formation of Orion's belt aligned as they form the row of the metal brackets of the clone's braces with her smile twisted into a devious and demented smirk. The inky black smoky mist of her amulet now consumes the bright full moon lighting up the night sky, a dark shadow mimicking an eclipse appearing as Catherine's focus now falls on the Mystery Shack.

"Just a matter of time." Catherine speaks, now breaking out into hysterical laughter.

She's BAAACCCCKKKK and more dangerous than ever! Not only has her appearance changed, but so have her plans! Having gotten ahold of Gideon's book and created an amulet of her very own, Catherine is far more dangerous than when she first made an appearance!
