Chapter 28: Dear Diary

'When making a plan, just how would you rate the details of your strategy? Good? Fair? Poor? Sometimes our first attempt isn't quite enough and could use some tweaking. Having gotten her hands on journal '2', Catherine details how her new amulet and the journal will aid her in taking over Gravity Falls!'

~(Catherine's P.O.V.)~

Dear Diary,

Today was an interesting day for me. While being cooped up in here since going into hiding hasn't been fun, I decided to venture out and see what the layout for my plan is looking like. With my entirely new look, I was expecting at least one person to recognize me in some way, especially since I still have some similarities to my sister Mabel appearance wise, but yet, I was treated just like everyone else in this town. Heh, not surprising. I could look like that idiot brother of hers and they would still treat me like a regular. But I discovered something about myself that I only thought existed in the mind or in movies and that is I have the ability to shape shift. Looks like my new amulet has hidden abilities that I have yet to unlock, but the shape shifting ability is one that I didn't have to work too hard in order to see, let alone use.

Ecstatic to have learned about this new ability, I decided to give it a try and see if it would be a hindrance or a help with what I have in store for this town. I needed the right crowd to test my abilities and I knew just where to go. Walking into the forest, I spotted the gnome crowd and decided to shape shift into Mabel. From one of my specific memories that I share with the classic version, the leader of the gnomes has a thing for her, therefore by shifting into her, I can twist that gnome like putty in my hands and create an alliance. So, taking on the classic version's image, I entered the forest and sweet talked my way into an alliance with the gnomes. Just as I imaged, Jeff fell right into my hands, practically eating out of it! He's so blinded by his crush, he has no idea what he is getting himself into! Considering that he will do anything for Mabel, I knew just what to do to get his attention! That lovelorn fool! Having achieved one goal, I decided to go see what else my new abilities have in store.

I remember from before I was destroyed by Mabel and those idiots, about the Mystic Circle that I found in Dipper's '3' journal that is located in the middle of the forest. Making sure to go unseen by the twins if they so happen to be hunting down whatever maybe in the forest, I visited the circle and saw that it was just as I left it. Something as powerful as the mystic circle could easily destroy me in this new form, or so I thought. Testing the limits of what I am made of now, it turns out that the Mystic Circle actually enhances my amulet with the glow it gained from the circle, speaking volumes of what it has the ability to do for me in my new form. So instead of destroying me like that I thought it would, the circle has been added to my list of what I will use to exact my revenge. Considering it enhances yours truly, why not use it to my advantage right? To a normal human, the circle would disintegrate them in an instant, but to someone as powerful as I am, it only helps me to gain momentum. I'll save this little beauty for when I face off with Mabel personally in our final battle! I'm going to make sure she knows who the alpha twin truly is!

After visiting the circle, I stumbled upon the twins outside of the shack! I had to hold back all of the anger that was surging through me to not attack them, even though that's my final goal for when the time is right! They are the reason I am in hiding now, the reason I am seeking revenge, and the reason my blood boils at the very thought of them! But I had to still myself and remember one thing, their misery, when I come in power, will be my gold watch! I can't decide if I'm going to make them suffer slowly or make their end swift and quick. Decisions, decisions…

But I was able to cheer myself up instantly at seeing Gideon when I decided to venture out into the town. I have never seen him look that flushed before, nor so many pot holes in one area. He dug up so much of his yard to find his precious book, I couldn't help but laugh when seeing that. The poor ignorant soul! This is a lesson for double crossing me and NO ONE double crosses Catherine! Just seeing the frantic look on his face, I have never laughed so much in my life! If only he knew what was in store for him, that journal of his would be the least of his worries!

So interestingly enough, Diary, my day was filled with excitement, anger, and even plotting, the plotting being the best part. Not that seeing Gideon flushed, raged, and angry didn't make me smile because it did, but I got a good idea of what I will paint my canvas with and I think the colors black and blood red will mix just right.

My dear diary, this is just entry one of many to come and I plan to fill your pages with entries that would turn the most normal soul ghostly. Heh, that is my full intention!

Setting my pen down, I close journal '2' and notice that my right hand and arm have shape shifted into Mabel classic's arm and hand. While I am not against taking on her image, for this mission, I have to avoid shape shifting until I deem it necessary, especially when I have everyone right where I want them! It would be fun to mess with Mabel's and Dipper's head, especially when I turn the two against each other. Them not knowing who is the true Mabel or Dipper, hilarious! HAHA! I'll mentally note that for later.

Parting from my desk, I walk over to the mirror and notice that I am in Mabel's image, but just as quickly shift back into my image. I can't wait to put my new abilities to the test.

Dear Diary, the best part of this plan is, no one has any idea of what's in store for them!

And there you have it folks! Catherine's plan and plotting in detail and it's just like the town to be oblivious! Well, the town lives up to the saying that ignorance truly is bliss!

I am so sorry for just updating one story this weekend when my intention was to update this one and Prophecy's Light. But I'm extremely sorry for the slow updates overall. Long story short: On top of my busy life, my graduation from Graduate school is in two weeks and my current instructor is acting as a real dictator. Good news is, soon enough I'll be back on schedule with updating regularly again. :) That will be my gift to all of you who have been so patient with the wait. :) And next week, Prophecy's Light will be updated so expect to be blown away by the update! I've already began working on the chapter! So if nothing else, don't forget to….
